Natural disturbances and human development can cause habitat fragmentation. Plant and wildlife can become isolated, and habitat fragmentation and shrinkage have been recognized as a key issue facing the conservation of biological diversity. However, eco-corridors can alleviate the problem by providing linkages between isolated patches. The purpose of this study is to plan the eco-corridor for connecting urban forest via the urban stream with low cost and to restore the ecosystem. The results were as follows (1) Falco subbuteo, and Dryocopus martius inhabit in the study site. They are protected species designated by Korean Ministry of Environment. Thus the study site should be preserved as urban wildlife habitat species biodiversity (2) If the biodiversity of the study site is maintained properly, the eco-corridor can be constructed with low cost.

The purpose of this study were to examine the deterioration of the old downtown in the southern area of Pyeongtaek City and derive suggestions for an urban regeneration project in South Pyeongtaek City. To do so, the researchers investigated the researchers investigated the deterioration and current status of the downtown from a multifaceted perspective based on previous in depth. It was found that in Pyeongtaek City, problems unique to the southern, Pyeongtaek, and Paengeong areas interplayed in a complicated manner. Accordingly, for the urban regeneration project to be effective, continuous participation of experts and community residents with intimate knowledge of the regional features is essential. This study focused on identifying the reasons why the old downtown has deteriorated and suggesting ways to revitalize it. The study is of significance in that it derived urban regeneration strategies based on regional features.

In consideration for evaluating urban lighting plan as culture of a society, preparing lighting plan while designing urban plan is a fundamental process. This study proposes a methodology, maintaining and embossing urban throughout preparing a long-term urban lighting plan considering overall urban space as well as improving competitive power for lighting to take an important role in total environmental design project.

The land use has changed rapidly since 1960s in accordance with urbanization in Seoul Metropolitan Region. As a result, the urban microclimate has undergone changes as well. This study aims to recognize trend of the urban heat island change which is caused by land use change during urbanization in large city. Thermal data of Landsat TM images in 1987 and 1999 were for land surface temperature change detection in the study.

The green space become more important in the city. It is shown as the urban neighborhood park. But the current problem of urban neighborhood parks planning in Ulsan is uniform without reflecting area's characteristic. The Purpose of this study is to propose the planning methods of urban neighborhood parks by surveying characteristic of each urban neighborhood parks in Ulsan actual states and use behaviors.

This study examines the use of public space in the urban environment based on the theory of Italian plazas as a theatre. Public space is considered as a symbolic representation of the urban organizatiov. In history, especially in Italy, the plaza was a common tool in reflecting people's lives through its use as a theatre. However, this role of plaza as a public space has lost its value with the population increase and the urban centralization of the city. This study attempts to reevaluate the needed of public space in modern society through a critical review of plaza and its use as a theatre. Content analysis was used to discuss the topics of this study including the historical background of the urban plaza, the relationship between plaza and theatre, and the role of public space and its impact on urban environment. The scope of the study is limited to the development of urban plaza from the ancient Greek to premodern Italy. Today, the concept of space is altered with the advent of cyberspace, This study provides insights for the future implications of plaza and theatre in developing public space for its a new definition as cultural representatiov.

This study purpose is the consideration of the processing evolution historic of the Educational Facilities 20s century at the grand view in the region Ile-de-France. Specially, by thepart of Educational Politic, Urban Geographic and the Urban Planning. This study purpose is to take a data base and study direction on 'A study of the role educational facility in the urban development'. So I was arrived these conclusions, First, the educational politic of the france was aimed for the democratization of the education and the popularization. After execution of the decentralization in the 1986, high school facilities was more popularized. Second, in the view point of the urban geographic, before 1975 years, high school facilities in the region ile-de-france was unbalanced in the situation regional and in the division social on the urban space. But after law of the Decentralization(1986) in the France, by effort of the regional conseil has take the regional balance. Third, high school facility has a potential force as a center of the development of the city. Forth, the facility has a possibility potential for a working of the important role in the urbanization. specially, the movement of population, the augment prix of the terrain, appartement and the division social in the urban space. as element that important relation with a development of the city.

This study focuses on the genealogical analysis of the urban public spaces by the local history of Seoul which is significantly different from western cities. The analysis targets the discourse of the urban street which defines urban space-structure among the urban public spaces. Based on the analysis, we define the progress levels of urban public design policy in Seoul. Firstly, in 1960's and 1970's, 'urban reconstruction' was intensively carried out for the country modernization, and 'vehicle preferred street expansion' resulted in damages to historical inheritance, in-humanized street, and cultural uniformity. 1980's and 1990's would be defined as 'politic acceptance of plural values to the urban street.' There were the Olympic Games held in Seoul in 1988, which were the celebrations of the 600th capital establishment and the autonomous local government system. In the meanwhile, diverse values on the urban street were discussed in terms of globalization. There also were the self-reflection for the urban skyscrapers and high-population rate, the cultural uniformity of urban street, and the commercialization in downtown with urban reconstruction plans. Then, the sense of landscape and amenity was focused. Various urban projects and regulations were held according to the changes of value recognition. 2000's can be defined as 'introduction to the organic integration and the urban public design governance.' In the 21st century, types of recognition have changed significantly, which include publicness, humanism, sustainability, symbolism, artistry, placeness, and communication. They cause the establishment of ordinances and the installation of integrated organization via urban design administration. The legislation has been revised in order to support the various methods for the maintenance and operation of urban landscape in terms of local characteristics. New regulations were established for residents to participate in the processes of the urban planning with street design policy.

By limiting population and land resources, a high-density urban form has become the inevitable choice for central cities in the rapid growth of many large cities in China. Due to the shift in urban growth and focus, high-density urban areas require restoration and improvement. This study intends to combine ancient and new districts, establish strategies for enhancing urban function, spatial utility, industry, and transportation, and thus enhance regional holistic effectiveness, by performing in-depth research.
