지상 전투차량의 수상 추진 시 동적 안정성에 대한 연구 (Syudy on the dynamic Stability of Ground Armored Moving Vehicle during cruising river)

  • In this study, the characteristics of crossing a river of Ground Armored Vehicle (GAV) were evaluated by numerical method and real size tests. 3-D hybrid mesh systems were constructed by 3-D models of the GAV, and a commercial software, FLUENT, was used in numerical analysis. In order to deal with multi-phase problem (air and water), Volume Of Fluid (VOF) method was used, and Moving and Deforming Mesh (MDM) was adapted for unsteady motion of GAV. There were two steps in this research. Firstly, stability of the GAV which cruised a river was evaluated by changing several shapes of water-proof-front-wing of the GAV in steady state, and compared results (free surface shape and drag value in 10km/h) with those of real size tests. Secondly, results of unsteady analysis considering weight and moment of inertia of the GAV were presented. There were showed a maximum velocity with a designed water jet and dynamic stability including pitch, roll, and yaw moment. Based on these results, the optimal shape of water-proof-front-wing of the GAV was determined for a proto-type of the GAV.

열성층현상이 존재하는 수평배관내에서의 비정상 2차원 수치해석 (The Unsteady 2-D Numerical Analysis in a Horizontal Pipe with Thermal Stratification Phenomena)

  • 본 논문에서는, 가압경수로 발전소의 가압기 밀림관내 비정상상태의 열성층현상에 대한 계산 모델을 제안하여 배관내의 온도분포, 유동특성 및 열응력에 대해 연구하였다. 경계면이 시간에 따라 변화가 없거나 정상상태에서 개발된 다른 모델과는 달리 본 모델에서는 고온 및 저온유체 사이의 경계면을 시간의 함수로 가정하였다. 열성층현상에 대한 무차원지배방정식은 SIMPLE 알고리즘을 사용하여 해를 구하였다. 본 수치계산의 결과는 주어진 조건하에서 무차원시간이 약 27.0 일 때 배관의 고온부 및 저온부사이의 최대무차원온도차는 0.78정도이었고, 이때의 열성층 현상에 의한 최대 열응력은 276 MPa로 계산되었다.

  • A two-dimensional backward facing step flow is simulated by using URANS and Detached Eddy Simulations(DES) approaches. Turbulence models adopted for URANS and DES simulations are Spalart-Allmaras(S-A) model and Shear Stress Transport(SST) model. The target flow with ER=1.125, $Re_H=37,500$ is experimentally studied by Driver & Seegmiller. Various versions of DES have been tested in this paper. Results of the simulations are compared with the experimental data available to evaluate the merits and demerits of URANS and several versions of DES. URANS simulation converges to a steady state and hence unsteady characteristics are not featured. DES simulations in general successfully mimic large scale structures and oscillation characteristics of the flow.

텐덤 디퓨저의 상대 위치에 따른 원심압축기 성능 예측 (Numerical Analysis on the Performance Prediction of a Centrifugal Compressor with Relative Positions of Tandem Diffuser Rows)

  • The performance of a centrifugal compressor composed of an impeller, tandem diffuser rows and axial guide vanes has been predicted numerically and compared with available experimental results on its design rotational speed. The pitchwise-averaged mixing plane method was employed for the boundaries between rotor and stator to obtain steady state solutions. The overall characteristics showed differently according to the relative positions of tandem diffuser rows while the characteristics of impeller showed almost identical. The numerical results agree with the measured data in respect of their tendency. It turned out that 0% of relative positions is the worst case in terms of static pressure recovery and efficiency. According to the experimental results, some pressure fluctuations and malfunction of the compressor were observed for 75% case. However, this numerical calculation using mixing plane method did not capture any of those phenomena. Thus, unsteady flow calculation should be performed to investigate the stability of the compressor caused by different diffuser configuration.

  • Flutter suppression of a wing/store model is investigated. An aircraft wing with a store is modeled as a 2-D typical section. Unsteady aerodynamics of the wing/store model are computed by using Doublet Hybrid Method(DHM) in the frequency-domain, and are approximated by Minimum-state(MS) approximation. LQG controller is used to suppress the flutter of the wing/store model and the aeroelastic characteristics of the closed-loop system are investigated. The flutter characteristics of the wing/store model are improved and the flutter speed is increased up to about 16 %.

  • The objective of this is to experimentally investigate the effect of mixed jet on the oxygen transfer characteristics with the primary nozzle area ratio of an annular nozzle ejector for the application of a microbial fuel cell. A direct visualization method with a high speed camera system was used to capture the horizontal mixed jet images, and a binarization technique was used to analyze the images. The clean water unsteady state technique was used for the oxygen transfer measurement. The air-water mixed jet discharging into a water tank behaved similar to a buoyancy or horizontal jet with the primary nozzle area ratio. It was found that an optimum primary nozzle area ratio was observed where the oxygen transfer performance reached its maximum value due to the decrease of air volume fraction and the increase of jet length and air bubble dispersion.

소형 재생 가스터빈의 동적 작동특성 해석 (Analysis of the Dynamic Characteristics of a Small Regenerative Gas Turbine)

  • This paper presents models for the dynamic simulation of a regenerative gas turbine and describes dynamic behaviors of a small regenerative engine. A quasi-steady model is introduced where the inertia of the working fluid is assumed to be negligible compared with the mechanical inertia of the rotating shaft. Based on this quasi-steady model, the transient model for the heat exchanger is employed to simulate the unsteady heat exchange in the recuperator. The effect of the thermal inertia of the recuperator metal on transient behaviors is analyzed by comparing the predicted results of the transient and steady state heat exchanger models. For several load change modes such as sudden increase, decrease and periodic variation, engine dynamic characteristics are investigated by applying a fuel control logic for the constant shaft speed. It is found that the thermal inertia of the recuperator metal has a dominant effect on the whole engine dynamic behavior.

  • 접는 미사일 조종날개의 공력탄성학적 특성을 조사하였다. 접는 미사일 조종날개는 2차원 익형 모델로 가정하였다. 초음속 DPM을 이용하여 초음속 비정상 공기력을 계산하였으며, 최소 상태 변수 근사법을 이용하여 비정상 공기력을 근사화하였다. 선형 및 비선형 플러터 해석을 위해 근궤적법과 시간적분법을 사용하였다. 비선형 플러터 해석을 위해 전개부의 힌지는 비대칭 이선형 스프링으로 가정하였으며, 기술함수를 이용하여 선형화하였다. 플러터 해석으로부터, 비선형 파라미터가 공력탄성학적 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다.

Dynamic Characteristics of Transverse Fuel Injection and Combustion Flow-Field inside a Scramjet Engine Combustor

  • A comprehensive numerical analysis has been carried out for both non-reacting and reacting flows in a scramjet engine combustor with and without a cavity. The theoretical formulation treats the complete conservation equations of chemically reacting flows with finite-rate chemistry of hydrogen-air. Turbulence closure is achieved by means of a k-$\omega$ two-equation model. The governing equations are discretized using a MUSCL-type TVD scheme, and temporally integrated by a second-order accurate implicit scheme. Transverse injection of hydrogen is considered over a broad range of injection pressure. The corresponding equivalence ratio of the overall fuel/air mixture ranges from 0.167 to 0.50. The work features detailed resolution of the flow and flame dynamics in the combustor, which was not typically available in most of the previous studies. In particular, the oscillatory flow characteristics are captured at a scale sufficient to identify the .underlying physical mechanisms. Much of the flow unsteadiness is related not only to the cavity, but also to the intrinsic unsteadiness in the flow-field. The interactions between the unsteady flow and flame evolution may cause a large excursion of flow oscillation. The roles of the cavity, injection pressure, and heat release in determining the flow dynamics are examined systematically.

TDR(Time Domain Reflectometry)을 이용한 토양함수량의 측정 (Measurement of Soil Water Content by Time Domain Reflectometry)

  • 비포화 흐름에 관하 실험은 토양내 물의 이송특성을 밝히는 매우 중요한 의미를 가지고 있다. 하지만 Tensiometer와 같은 전통적인 측정방법은 비교적 길기 때문에 함수량이 급격하게 변하는 비정상류 비포화흐름을 측정하는데 상당한 어려움이 따른다. 본 연구에서는 TDR을 이용하여 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 함수량 측정방법을 소개하고자 한다. TDR은 구형파를 발생시키는 함수방생기와 반향파를 분석하는 오실로스코프로 구성되어 있다. 토양속에 설치된 탐침을 지나는 구형파는 임피던수가 변하는 지점에서 반향되며 주변토양의 우전율상수 변화에 따라 전파속도가 달라지게 된다. 이 때 토양내 함수량은 함수량에 따른 반향시간특성을 이용하여 추정되어진다. TDR을 이용하는 함수량측정의 검증실험에 의하면 오븐 건조한 함수량에 대한 TDR측정 함수량의 오차율이 3.5% 이내 이었다. 따라서 TDR은 국내토양에 대한 비정상류 상태의 비포화흐름을 측정하는데 매우 훌륭한 실험장치로 판단된다.
