  • The pandemic of Covid-19 (Coronavirus Disease 19) has devastated the world, affected millions of people, and disrupted the world economy. The cause of the Covid19 epidemic has been identified as a new variant known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV2). It motives irritation of a small air sac referred to as the alveoli. The alveoli make up most of the tissue in the lungs and fill the sac with mucus. Most human beings with Covid19 usually do no longer improve pneumonia. However, chest x-rays of seriously unwell sufferers can be a useful device for medical doctors in diagnosing Covid19-both CT and X-ray exhibit usual patterns of frosted glass (GGO) and consolidation. The introduction of deep getting to know and brand new imaging helps radiologists and medical practitioners discover these unnatural patterns and pick out Covid19-infected chest x-rays. This venture makes use of a new deep studying structure proposed to diagnose Covid19 by the use of chest X-rays. The suggested model in this work aims to predict and forecast the patients at risk and identify the primary COVID-19 risk variables

  • A new emotion-based image retrieval method is proposed in this paper. The research was motivated by Soen's evaluation of human emotion on color patterns. Thirteen pairs of adjective words expressing emotion pairs such as like-dislike, beautiful-ugly, natural-unnatural, dynamic-static, warm-cold, gay-sober, cheerful-dismal, unstablestable, light-dark, strong-weak, gaudy-plain, hard-soft, heavy-light are modeled by 19-dimensional color array and $4{\times}3$ gray matrix in off-line. Once the query is presented in text format, emotion model-based query formulation produces the associated color array and gray matrix. Then, images related to the query are retrieved from the database based on the multiplication of color array and gray matrix, each of which is extracted from query and database image. Experiments over 450 images showed an average retrieval rate of 0.61 for the use of color array alone and an average retrieval rate of 0.47 for the use of gray matrix alone.

  • In prevention and diagnostic system of GIS, pattern classification is focused on the detection of unnatural patterns in PD(Partial discharge) image data. Fractals have been used extensively to provide a description and to model mathematically many of the naturally occurring complex shapes, such as coastlines, mountain ranges, clouds, etc., and have also received increased attention in the field of image processing, for purposes of segmentation and recognition of regions and objects present in natural scenes. Among the numerous fractal features that could be defined and used for image data, fractal dimension and lacunarity have been found to be useful for recognition purposes Partial discharge(PD) occuring in GIS system is a very complex phenomenon, and more so are the shapes of the various 2-d patterns obtained during routine tests and measurements. It has been fairly well established that these pattern shapes and underlying defects causing PD have a 1:1 correspondence, and therefore methods to describe and qunatify these pattern shapes must be explored, before recognition systems based on them could be developed. The computed fractal features(fractal dimension and lacunarity) for standard library of PD data were analyzed and found to possess fairly reasonable pattern discriminating abilities. This new approach appears promising, and further research is essential before any long-term predictions can be made.

  • Purpose: This study examined the patterns of drugs, poisons, and chemicals detected in autopsy samples performed in the Seoul Institute and other regional forensic offices of the National Forensic Service (NFS) between 2014 and 2016. Methods: The investigation carried out using the laboratory information management system. Forensic toxicological identification and quantitation were performed in autopsy samples, including heart blood, peripheral blood, liver, kidney, vitreous humor and etc. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) were used to analyze the drugs and poisons. Results: Forensic autopsies were performed on 9,674 cases in this period. Based on the autopsy reports, 699 cases (7.2%) were considered as unnatural deaths caused by fatal intoxication. The number of male deaths was higher than that of female deaths, with the age of 50-59 being the most common age group. Conclusion: Drugs comprised the largest number of deaths due to poison, followed by alcohol, agrochemicals, drug with alcohol, carbon monoxide, and cyanide, in that order. Zolpidem was the most frequently used drug in all drug-related intoxication cases.

  • The following research compares the two apparel systems that are used in Korean colleges, Gerber and PAD, by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of their Dart-related functions in the pattern construction process. The results are as follows. 1. Regarding transformation methods, the Gerber system was able to use pivot method, while the PAD system was able to use both pivot method and slash methods. in other issues, the PAD system was not able to synthesize more than two Darts, and only showed differences for other functions. On the other hand, the diamond-shape Dart and diagonal Dart could be produced only in the PAD system, while curvy shaped Dart could not be produced in either system. 2. The change in side lines due to the change of Dart width only occurred in the PAD system, while the change in Dart length only occurred in the Gerber system; both systems need improvement. 3. As for the pattern outer line connection capability, which is a Dart automatic transformation function, both systems showed unnatural shapes which need to be corrected. 4. We first constructed a Dart shape composition chart according to the number of Darts. Based on this, we examined whether they have appropriate shapes. Among single-Darts, the Gerber system had an inappropriate, outer-line shape for Underarm Dart and Center Front Dart, and among two-Darts, it was inappropriate for Side and Waist Dart.

  • The following research compares two mostly-used apparel systems that are used in colleges of Korea, Gerber and PAD, by analyzing advantages and disadvantages of their Dart, Tuck and Pleats-related functions in pattern construction process. The results are the following: First, regarding transformation methods, Gerber system was able to use pivot method, while PAD system was able to use both pivot and slash method. As for movement, distribution, synthesis, folding, producing additional Dart function, the PAD system was not able to synthesize more than two Darts, and only showed differences for other functions. On the other hand, the diamond-shape Dart and diagonal Dart can be produced only in PAD system, while none of curvy shaped Dart can be produced in both systems. Second, as for pattern outer line connection capability, which is a Dart automatic transformation function, both systems showed unnatural shapes and need for correction. Third, when constructing according to the type of Tuck, we could distribute multiple Darts at a time with PAD system, while with Gerber system, distribution into multiple Darts at a time was impossible at all. Fourth, when constructing according to the contour of Pleats, Gerber system made it possible to make construction of multiple lines and box/inverted Pleats with just one order, but PAD system required repetitive tasks, which remains room for enhancement in regard to such inefficiency.

  • Many chapters of the Hwangjenaegyeong[HN] explain the process of transmission and transmutation of disease. The transmission and transmutation process in the HN can be categorized into one between the viscera and bowels, and another of the external pathogenic gi itself. The process between the viscera and bowels indicates the transport of the pathologic burden between each viscera and bowel. This again is categorized into three types. Interpromoting, intercontrolling and that by Saeng-yang(生陽), Sa-eum(死陰). Next, the transport of the pathogenic gi can be categorized into one moving inwards from the exterior according to personal traits, and that according to the three Eum and three Yang. Although there are numerous types of transmission and transmutation, there are two main criteria in understanding the process. First, whether the process is in accordance with the physiological or natural flow of the body. Interpromoting and three Eum three Yang processes are such examples. To follow the physiological flow of the body means to correspond to either the Heaven and Earth or the original physiology of the human body. Therefore, the disease progresses according to a certain date or season. This indicates a partial malfunction in the circulation of the vital energy, which is relatively easy to recover. In contrast, there are processes that go against the physiological flow, for example, intercontrolling transmission and transmutation. This process focuses on the movement of the pathogenic gi rather than the vital gi. The disease progresses regardless of the flow of the vital energy, and sequential functional damage occurs accordingly. Consequently, as the transmission and transmutation continue, formerly passed organs are left damaged, and the whole process is headed towards death. The second criteria for understanding the process is whether it is cyclic or not. To have a cyclic pattern means that the occurrence of a disease and the time of death is not fixed. Transmission and transmutation processes that have a cyclic pattern mostly follow the physiological flow of the body. As a result, they rarely end in deaths, and the process is centered on vital energy. On the other hand, those with acyclic patterns have a fixed occurrence and death point in the course of the disease. They are mostly unnatural processes, found in fatal acute diseases or consumption diseases.
