의학교육에서의 역량기반교육의 가능성과 한계 탐색 (Competency-Based Medical Education: Possibilities and Limitations)

  • Competency and competency-based education are topics of great interest to educators and administrators at most stages of undergraduate and postgraduate medical training. A competency-based approach in medical setting has been valued as a more effective way to strengthen learners' performance compared to the traditional education program. This article aims to explore theoretical and practical possibilities and limitations of competency-based medical education. We approached the topic in 3 gradual steps: the comprehension of background of competency-based education, the conceptual understanding of competency in professional education, and the exploration of possibilities and limitations of competency-based medical education. The last step of analysis was performed in three dimensions: educational objectives, references to judge performance, and performance evaluation criteria. In conclusion, we suggest 4 factors which need to be considered to implement a competency-based medical education.

친환경 건설 전문 인력의 핵심 역량 요인 분석 (Key Competency Factors of Professional Engineer in Environment - friendly Construction Industry)

  • 전 세계적으로 환경 문제가 대두되면서 에너지 사용량 절감에 대한 사회적 관심이 커지고 있다. 우리나라 또한 에너지 사용량 비중이 큰 건축부문의 에너지 사용량 절감을 위한 친환경 건설의 필요성이 강조되고 지속적인 기술개발과 정부의 지원을 바탕으로 친환경 건설 시장은 빠른 속도의 성장을 보이고 있다. 친환경 건설시장이 성장하면서 친환경 전문기업들이 생겨나고 있지만 관련 지식과 노하우를 갖춘 전문가들의 수는 부족하다. 지속적으로 성장하는 친환경 건설 시장의 변화에 대비하기 위하여 전문인력 양성의 기반 마련이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 친환경 건설 산업의 전문 인력에게 요구되는 역량요인에 대한 설문을 실시하고 탐색적 요인분석을 통하여 핵심 역량 요인을 도출하고 각각의 의미를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 총 4개의 역량 요인이 도출되었으며 그 중 2개의 요인인 '친환경 및 지속가능성에 대한 이해'와 '인적 관리 역량'이 핵심적인 역량 요인이라는 것을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 인력 양성에 필요한 역량 기준 및 평가에 대한 준비를 위한 기초연구가 될 것이다.

패션 명품 브랜드 판매원의 역량과 서비스 지향성이 조직몰입과 서비스 제공수준에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Competency and Service Orientation of Imported Fashion Luxury Brands Salespersons on the Organizational Commitment and Service Delivery Level)

  • This study examines the effects of competency and service orientation of imported fashion luxury brands salespersons on the organizational commitment and service delivery level. Questionnaire data from 162 salespersons of imported fashion luxury brands were analyzed. The results were summarized as follows. First, self-management ability, professional executive ability, and the friendly attitude of six competency factors had significant effects on organizational commitment. Second, professional executive ability, self-management ability, and friendly attitude of the six competency factors had significant effects on service delivery level. Third, all factors of service orientation had significant influences on organizational commitment. Finally, special treatment/awareness of needs and instant response/communicative skill of three service orientation factors had significant influences on the service delivery level.

초등예비교사의 과학 동기유발과 과학적 소양의 역량에 대한 인과구조 (The Causal Structure to the Scientific Motivation and the Scientific Literacy Competency in Pre-service Elementary Teachers)

  • This study was to investigate factors and disclose causal model of the scientific literacy competency about the motivation for science and the scientific literacy competency. The 3 grade university students and the 1 grade university students as pre-service elementary teachers were participated to questionnaire investigation. The data were analyzed by the factor analysis method and the structural equation model method, and the following results were obtained. First, the 3 grade university students and the 1 grade university students perceived the science interest factors and science usefulness factors as the motivation for science, and also revealed the scientific problem recognition factor and the scientific evidence use factor as the scientific literacy competency. Second, the science interest factor had a greater effect on the scientific problem recognition factor than the scientific evidence use factor in both the 3 grade and 1 grade university students. In the path from the science usefulness factor to the scientific problem recognition factor, the science usefulness factor of the 3 grade university students had a greater influence on the direct route to the scientific problem recognition factor than that of the 1 grade university students. In the path from the science usefulness factor to the scientific evidence use factor, the science usefulness factor of the 1 grade university students influenced more on the direct route to the scientific evidence use factor than that of the 3 grade university students.

간호대학생의 임상실습스트레스와 도덕적 민감성이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of clinical practice stress and moral sensitivity on clinical competency in nursing students)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore how clinical practice stress and moral sensitivity affect the clinical competency of nursing students. Methods: Participants had completed at least a one year (2 semesters) clinical nursing practicum through K University in D Metropolitan City. A total of 188 nursing students were recruited: third grade (n=104) and fourth grade (n=84). The questionnaires were adopted with clinical practice stress, Korean version of moral sensitivity questionnaire (K-MSQ), and the clinical competency. Results: Clinical competency was positively correlated with patient-oriented care (r=.27, p<.001) and the professional responsibility (r=.32, p<.001) of the moral sensitivity (r=.27, p<.001). The attitude of medical personnel experiencing clinical practice stress shows a significant positive relationship with clinical competency (r=.15, p=.038). The attitude of medical personnel (β=.09, p=.194) experiencing clinical practice stress, patient-oriented care (β=.16, p=.041) and professional responsibility (β=.23, p=.003) of the moral sensitivity explained 12% of the variance in clinical competency (F=9.17, p<.001). Therefore, the influential factors on clinical competency were two sub-factors of moral sensitivity. Conclusion: Moral educational programs should be considered to develop a nursing students' clinical competency.

국가직무능력표준(NCS)기반 평생교육에서 학습자의 직무능력개발이 직업기초능력 향상에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Learners' Job Competency Development on the Improvement of Their Vocational Key Competencies in Lifelong Education Based on National Competency Standards(NCS))

  • 본 연구는 국가직무능력표준기반 평생교육에서 학습자의 직무능력개발이 직업기초능력 향상에 미치는 영향력을 밝혀내는데 목적을 갖는 연구이다. 이를 위해 수리능력, 문제해결능력, 자원관리능력, 의사소통능력 4개 단위로 구분한 직업기초능력에 직무능력개발이 미치는 각각의 영향력을 검증하였으며 이 과정에서 평생교육 학습자들의 교육환경의 외부적 영향을 감안하기 위해 공분산분석을 실시하였다. 표본조사를 위해 서울에 소재중인 평생교육 기관의 학습자 480명을 대상으로 실증 조사하였고 이를 기반으로 통계 분석을 실시하였는데 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가설1의 검증결과 직무능력개발요인은 단일 차원에서는 수리능력에 모두 영향을 주지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 가설2의 검증 결과, 직무능력개발요인 중 교육체계(F=3.021, p<.05)와 교육과정(F=6.684, p<.05)은 단일 차원에서 수리능력에 유의한 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 가설3의 검증 결과, 직무능력개발요인 중 교육과정(F=5.865, p<.05)만 단일차원에서 자원관리에 유의한 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 가설 4의 검증 결과, 직무능력개발요인은 단일 차원에서는 의사소통에 모두 영향을 주지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 직무능력개발요인은 교수상호작용과 평생교육지원이 병행되는 과정에서, 교육체계와 교육과정이 조화되거나 혹은 교육체계, 교육과정, 평가관리 모두가 적절히 조화를 이루었을 때, 의사소통 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한 것으로 평가 할 수 있다.

간호사의 정보자원 접근 및 활용정도와 근거중심실무 장애요인 및 역량 (Nurses' Access & Use of Information Resources and Barriers & Competency of Evidence Based Practice)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore nurses' access and use of information resources and to identify the barriers and competency to evidence based practice (EBP). This study used descriptive method to identify baseline data for the purpose of developing strategies for establishing EBP in clinical nursing practice. Methods: Participants in this study were 278 nurses from five hospitals in Daegu and Kyungsangbukdo. The data were collected by self administered questionnaires and SPSS/WIN 15.0 program was used to analyze the data with descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and ANOVA. Results: Nurses reported $^*most$ frequently using paper and human resources. The mean score of barriers was $3.02{\pm}0.41$, and competency was $2.70{\pm}0.50$. The reported competency was correlated with nurse factors (r=-.31, p<.001) organization factors (r=-.20, p<.001) and research factors (r=-.12, p<.040) as the barriers to evidence based practice. Conclusion: To promote competency in EBP and to decrease the barriers, it would be necessary to develop the organizational culture that encourages nurses to be involved in research activities. In addition, the development of systemic methods to introduce and establish an education program for facilitating EBP in the clinical settings is needed.

초등학교 보건교사의 문화적 역량 영향요인 (Factors Affecting Cultural Competency of Elementary School Nurses)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the cultural competency of elementary school nurses. Methods: Data were collected from a convenience sample of 109 school nurses who were recruited from elementary schools across three large cities in South Korea. The daata were analyzed with independent t-tests, a one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: School nurses who had experience caring for multicultural students showed a significant difference in the cultural competency (t=8.75, p=.004). Factors affecting their cultural competency were awareness of multicultural families (${\beta}=.17$, p=.006) and transcultural self-efficacy (${\beta}=.69$, p<.001), which explained 58.6% of the total variance. Conclusion: The findings suggest that it is necessary to provide more training and educational programs for school nurses to improve their awareness of multiculcural families, including interventions to enhance transcultural self-efficacy, in order to enhance their cultural competence and to help them provide tailored care for multicultural students with diverse cultural backgrounds.

광주광역시 치과위생사의 NCS 기반 직업기초능력 우선순위 분석 (Priority analysis of NCS based vocational core competency of dental hygienists in Gwangju)

  • Objectives: This study aims to investigate and analyzed the priority of vocational core competency factors in dental hygienists in Gwangju. Methods: Expert survey was conducted and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) was applied to evaluate the weighting factors. First, we established the vocational core competency defined in NCS as AHP analysis model. The vocational core competency has 10 categories and 34 sub-categories. Secondly, AHP survey was conducted by 195 dental hygienists in Gwangju. Finally, the weights representing relative importance of each factor were calculated by using AHP method. Results: The AHP analysis on 10 categories showed that the weighting of interpersonal skills(0.165) was higher than any other categories while that of numeracy(0.035) was at the bottom, and the analysis on sub-categories revealed that the most important factors in each categories included the teamwork skills(interpersonal skills), problem-solving capability(problem-solving skills), listening skills(communication skills), ethical community(professional ethics), ability to understand business(ability to understand organizational structure), applicable technical skills(technical skills), self-management skills(self-development capability), information processing capabilities(information capacity), ability to manage time(resource management capabilities) and basic math skills(numeracy). Conclusions: The results in this study can be used as basic data for the development of liberal arts curriculum for dental hygiene education.

인적 요인 및 제도적 요인이 중소기업 승계 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Human and Institutional Factors on Succession Intentions of Small and Medium Enterprises)

  • 중소기업 창업주의 고령화가 진전되면서 기업 승계에 대한 이슈가 부상하고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 본 연구는 승계하고자 하는 사람, 받고자 하는 사람, 제3의 이해관계인과 같은 인적 요인과 기업 승계와 둘러싼 제도적인 요소인 법제, 세제, 신탁 등이 기업 승계 의도에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석을 했다. 이를 위해 현재 중소기업을 운영하고 있는 대표자를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 총 유효한 설문은 201부였다. 이를 토대로 위계적회귀분석 방법으로 실증 분석을 하였다. 실증 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 인적 요소인 경영자 역량, 후계자 역량은 기업 승계의도에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 제도적 요소인 세제와 신탁도 기업 승계의도에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 제3의 이해관계인과 법제는 기업 승계의도에 유의한 영향 관계가 검정되지 않았다. 유의한 영향을 미치는 요소 중에서 영향력의 크기는 후계자 역량, 경영자 역량, 세제, 신탁 순으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 기존의 인적 요소 위주의 연구에서 한걸음 더 나아가 제도적 요인인 세제나 신탁 등도 기업 승계에 매우 중요한 영향을 미친다는 것을 밝힌 점에서 학술적 및 실무적 의의가 있다.
