일개 기독교 대학 신입생의 지각된 스트레스, 신앙성숙도가 주관적 행복감에 미치는 영향 (Factors influencing subjective happiness on the perceived stress and faith maturity of christian university freshman)

  • 본 연구는 기독교 대학 신입생들의 주관적 행복감에 지각된 스트레스, 신앙성숙도가 어떤 효과를 나타내는가를 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 서술적 조사연구로, 2018년 4월에 조사된 신입생 232명의 자가보고 설문 자료를 SPSS 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과로 주관적 행복감에 영향을 주는 요인은 삶의 만족도, 지각된 스트레스, 동료지지, 가족지지, 신앙성숙도 순으로 나타났고, 이들의 설명력은 70.3%이었다. 따라서 대학에서는 스트레스 감소 및 사회적 지지체계 구축을 위한 노력과 신앙성숙을 위한 다양한 교육적 접근을 시도해야 할 것이다.

치위생과 신입생의 신체·정신건강과 대학 생활 스트레스와의 관계 (The relationship between physical·mental health and life stress in dental hygiene freshman)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between psychosocial stress and depression symptoms in dental hygiene freshman. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire of 45 questions was filled out by 207 dental hygiene students in Gyeongnam from December 9 to 11, 2013. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 18.0 program for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA. Results : Religion tended to influence on positive effects on academic stress because those having religion had less academic stress. Economic condition also influenced on physical and mental stress in the students($8.52{\pm}5.63$)(p=0.000). Low economic status influenced on academic problems(p=0.022), family problems(p=0.014), rational relationship problems(p=0.002), and interpersonal problems(p=0.007). There was no significant difference between future problems(p=0.125) and self-efficacy(p=0.076). The physical symptoms included digestive disorders($16.73{\pm}5.37$), cardiac symptoms($14.61{\pm}5.51$), headache($9.46{\pm}3.59$), insomnia($8.32{\pm}3.67$) (p=0.000). The mental symptoms included negative emotions($15.07{\pm}3.94$)(p=0.000). Conclusions : In order to reduce the psychosocial stress symptoms in dental hygiene freshman, it is important to develop the stress debriefing program in the future.

서울 시내 일 간호대학 입학생의 4년간 개인 및 대인가치관의 횡단적 조사 연구 (A four year study of the personal and interpersonal value systes of freshman nursing students at Yonsei University)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the values of freshman nursing students and to determine changes each year over the four years of the study and to provide base data for curriculum and student guidance. The sample consisted of the freshman students who entered college of nursing from 1988 through 1991. The total sample was 358 students and data were collected during March of each of the four years. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation to examine the relationship between the subcategories of values and Duncan multiple range test to examine the relationship between the scores for each year and the demographic data. The instrument used in this study was the Survey of Personal Values and Interpersonal Values modified by UngYun Hwang and KyungHae Lee in accordance with L.V. Gordon's instrument. This tool provides scores on practical mindedness, achievement, variety, decisiveness, orderliness, goal orientation, support, conformity, recognition, independence, benevolence and leadership. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The nursing freshman students surveyed had the highest score for goal orientation (21.44) and the lowest for variety (17.13) on the SPY (Survey of Personal Values) and the highest score for benevolence (21.19) and lowest for leadership (17.00) on the SIV (Survey of Interpersonal Values]. In accordance with the standarized scores for Gordon's Spy for other' woman college students, the students in the study were between the 78% ile - 97 % ile and were in the 72 % ile 97%ile for the SlV. 2. When t-test scores were compared, no significant variation was found between the years for each of the values (P< .05). 3. A significant variation was found on variety, between 1989 and 1991 (P< .05), and between 1988 and 1991. The highest score was in 1991 in both comparisons. Supporting was also higher for 1991 than for 1988 (P< .05). 4. Religion and occupation of father did not show any significant differences (P< .05). There was no significant difference in values according to the student's religion or the occupation of their father. Students born in the metropolitan area had a higher score on variety than those from the rural area and vice versa on regulartiy (P< .05). The results of this study show that there is a higher score on values for'! University freshman than shown for freshmen in other universities reported from other research, To keep or promote values, it is very important that there be a systematic strategy of education and special educational programs.

환경교육과 신입생의 입학 동기 및 환경에 대한 인식 변화 - 한국교원대학교 신입생을 대상으로 - (Matriculation Motive and Environmental Awareness of Freshman in Environmental Education Department)

  • The purpose of this research is to study motivation of freshmen in Environmental Education Department for choosing their major, and their environmental awareness in overall. The subject for this research is twenty freshmen, majoring Environmental Education at Korea National University of Education in 2007, and methods of the research include survey through questionnaires, reviewing literature of the field, and conference with experts in Environmental Education. After the research, six freshmen's motivation for choosing Environmental Education as their major changed positively. Awareness of the environment in residential area changed somewhat negatively, while awareness of the nation's overall environment changed positively. Subjects' recognition for the need of Environmental Education was generally negative in both the first and second surveys whereas that of sustainable society changed more remarkably throughout the surveys. Most subject thought that the most important issue Environmental teachers should teach is proper attitudes towards and reasonable actions for the environment.

수준별 영어강좌 운영에 대한 사례연구 (A Case Study on Implementing Graded English Class)

  • The result of the English test for freshmen showed wide difference in the ability of students, which means the graded class is strongly required. This paper describes the case study about the graded English class that was carried out for the freshman. Every freshman must take an English placement test from problems bank and were classified according to the result of the test. In order to resolve the dissatisfaction of the high level students, the statutes of my university for credit were modified. In order to analyze the effect of the graded class, evaluation test using similar problems was carried out at the end of the semester. The effect of the graded class was analyzed by using the paired samples t-test method and there was a meaningful performance improvement at the average score. Additional improvements in the method of classification and credit granted were made by analyzing the results of the evaluation test and survey.

College Students' Perspectives on ChatGPT Integration in Higher Education and Relevant Ethical Considerations

  • In higher education, integration of technologies - particularly generative artificial intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT - has become increasingly widespread, serving numerous purposes to its stakeholders. While users acknowledge the utility of technology, concerns have emerged regarding its misuses. The present study is designed to investigate authentic perspectives and opinions of college freshman students to critically address the relevant concerns, and suggest meaningful solutions. To this end, seven college freshman student participants were recruited in a four-days-long online questionnaire. Their responses indicated that the college student participants appear to find ChatGPT positive in terms of its practicality and usefulness. However, they also showed concerns about a few potential issues (i.e., possible plagiarism and copyright problems). With recommendations the student participants suggested to reduce the aforementioned problems, the article discusses implications of the findings, providing valuable insights into the balance between implementation of AI technologies and dealing with the associated challenges in higher education in general.

대학 신입생의 체격지수에 따른 식이행동 양상 및 식습관에 관한 조사 연구 (A Study on the Dietary Behavior and the Food Habits of University Freshman According to Body Mass Index)

  • The purpose of the this study was to investigate the dietary behavior and the food habits of university freshman according to body mass index. Questionnaire were completed by 532 students in university freshman. The data were analyzed by SAS program. The results were as follows : The means of normal group's height, weight were $175.00{\pm}5.98cm,\;72.93{\pm}10.20kg$ for male students and $162.00{\pm}4.75cm,\;51.97{\pm}4.98kg$ for female students. Under 20 of BMI(body mass index) among students were 69.7% for male and 9.6% for female. $Twenty{\sim}twenty\;five(20{\sim}25)$ of BMI were 21.9% for male and 40.2% for female. The consumption of milk, oil and animal fat were significant according to BMI. There was high significant difference in the score of exercise and activity. In the self recognition of body shape 59.0% of male and 52.6% of female in normal weight group answered that their weight had to be a little thin. Self satisfaction rate was significantly higher in under weight group compared to normal weight group. This study suggest that a comprehensive nutrition education program is need for university students to improve desirable food habits and recognition of rate of figure.

대학교 신입생의 성지식과 성태도 및 성교육 만족도 (University Freshman's Sexual Knowledge, Attitudes, and Satisfaction of Sex Education)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between sexual knowledge, attitude, and satisfaction of sex education in university freshman. Methods: The participants were 275 freshman students under the age of 20 years old. Data were collected in 2017 using a self-report questionnaire. Results: The average scores of participants' sexual knowledge, attitude, and satisfaction of sex education were $24.22{\pm}4.94$ out of 38 points, $90.81{\pm}15.86$ out of 168 points, and $11.05{\pm}3.08$ out of 20 points, respectively. With respect to the demographic characteristics, there were statically significant differences in sexual knowledge according to chances of relationship engagement (F=6.19, p=.002) and residence type (F=3.67, p=.013). Both sexual attitudes and satisfaction of sex education showed significant differences by major (t=3.20, p=.002; t=2.65, p=.009), types of high school (F=3.39, p=.019; F=3.53, p=.015), and interest in previous sex education during teenage years (F=2.88, p=.015; F= 6.22, p<.001). Sexual knowledge showed a statistically significant correlation with attitudes (r=.153, p=.011). Conclusion: There is insufficient sex information available for college students. It is necessary in the future to develop sex education programs that are matched to college students' needs.

방사선과 신입생의 기초 수리능력 수준에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Basic Mathematical Competency Levels of Freshmen Students in Radiology Department)

  • 4차 산업 혁명 시대에 가상현실(VR), 인공지능(AI) 등에 있어서 더욱더 수리 능력을 요구하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 2019년 6월 17일에서 28일까지 S와 D 대학교 방사선학과 신입생 총 78명을 대상으로 기초학습수리영역 진단 평가를 통해 기초 수리능력에 대한 수준을 파악하여 기초자료를 마련하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 대학생들의 기초 수리능력의 수준은 전반적으로 우수한 것으로 진단되었으나, 기하와 벡터 평균점수 2. 61점, 확률과 통계 평균점수 2.64점으로 보통 수준 진단되어 다른 영역보다 낮게 나타났다. 성별에 따른 기초수리능력 수준은 남학생 평균점수 17.48점, 여학생 16.29점으로 우수 수준으로 진단되었으며, 통계적으로는 유의한 차이가 없었다(p>0.05). 본 연구는 적은 연구대상 인원과 지역적인 제한점이 있기에 연구결과를 전체 대학교 신입생 및 모들 학과에 대해 일반화하는데 있어 다소 한계가 있을 수 있다. 이상의 결과를 토대로, 방사선학과 입학한 신입생들의 기초 수리능력 향상을 위해 학생 수준별로 전공과 관련된 기초 수리능력에 대한 향상 특강 등 다양한 프로그램이 진행 될 필요가 있으며, 교육과정에 전공 수학 교과목을 개설하여 학생 수준에 맞는 교수 학습방법 적용하여 수리능력에 대한 역량을 강화 할 필요가 있다.

여대생의 비타민 A 영양 상태 (Vitamin A Status of Female University Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to diagnose nutritional status of vitamin A in female university students. Total of 59 female students in Korea National University of Education, Home Economics Education department were recruited for this study. Retinol and :t major carotenoids in serum($\beta$-carotene, u-carotene, lycopene and lutein) were analyzed by HPLC. The isocratic separation was performed in a $\mu$ Bondapak$^{TM}$ $C_{18}$ stainless steel column with a solvent system of acetonitrile : methanol=85:15. The results of analysis were as follows: The average retinol concentration of 59 female students was 25.9$\mu\textrm{g}$/100$m\ell$. According to biochemical criteria for the assessment of vitamin A status, 18 of them belong to well-nourished and 6 students belong to adequate status. On the other hand, 8 students, 3 freshmen and 5 sophomore, were in critical vitamin A status. Retinol concentrations of junior and senior students were higher than those of freshmen and sophomore (P<0.001). The average concentrations of serum $\beta$-carotene, lycopene, and lutein were 1.9, 5.4, and 41.4$\mu\textrm{g}$/100$m\ell$, respectively. Serum $\beta$-carotene concentration of senior was significant. higher than those of freshman, sophomore and junior(p<0.001). Lycopene concentration of freshman was significant. lower than those of the other grades and that of senior was sig, higher than those of the other grades(p<0.05). Lutein concentrations of junior and senior were significant. higher than those of freshman and sophomore(p<0.001). The serum $\alpha$-carotene concentrations of the students were too low to analyze.e.
