Impact behaviors of the large deformable composites of Kevlar fiber reinforced composites of different preform structures have been investigated. An analytic tool was developed to characterize the impact behavior of the Kevlar composites. The image analysis technique, and deply technique were employed to develop energy balance equation under impact loading. An energy method was employed to establish the impact energy absorption mechanism of Kevlar multiaxial warp knitted composites. The total impact energy was classified into four categories including delamination energy, membrane energy, bending energy and rebounding energy under low velocity impact. Membrane and bending energy were calculated from the image analysis of the deformed shape of impacted specimen and delamination energy was calculated using the deplying technique. Also, the impact behavior of Kevlar composites under high velocity impact of full penetration of the composite specimen was studied. The energy absorption mechanisms under high velocity impact were modelled and the absorbed energy was classified into global deformation energy, shear-out energy, deformation energy and fiber breakage energy. The total energy obtained from the model corresponded reasonably well with the experimental results.

Guidelines and institutional support for buildings are being promoted around the world as measures for environmental pollution and energy conservation. In Korea, standards are prepared according to the energy saving design standards of new buildings as amended in 2013.09.01 and the zero energy building for new buildings mandatory process is being prepared from the recommendations. Nevertheless, the government's binding power on smaller buildings is insufficient. Energy savings were analyzed for the recently constructed office buildings (application of external insulation technique) and propose a dual envelope techniques were proposed for energy reduction.

With the change in Earth's ecosystems due to climate change, a number of studies on zero energy buildings have been conducted globally, due to the depletion of energy and resources. However, most studies have concentrated on residential and office buildings and the performance predictions were made only in the design phase. This study verifies the zero-energy performance in the operational phase by acquiring and analyzing data after the completion of an exhibition building. This building was a retention building, in which a renewable energy system using a passive house building envelope, solar photovoltaic power generation panels, as well as fuel cells were adopted to minimize the maintenance cost for future energy-zero operations. In addition, the energy performance of the building was predicted through prior simulations, and this was compared with actual measured values to evaluate the energy performance of the actual operational records quantitatively. The energy independence rate during the measurement period of the target building was 123% and the carbon reduction due to the energy production on the site was 408.07 tons. The carbon reduction exceeded the carbon emission (331.5 tons), which verified the carbon zero and zero-energy performances.
Radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting technology have become a reliable and promising alternative to extend the lifetime of power-constrained wireless networks by eliminating the need for batteries. This emerging technology enables the low-power wireless devices to be self-sustaining and eco-friendly by scavenging RF energy from ambient environment or dedicated energy sources. These attributes make RF energy harvesting technology feasible and attractive to an extended range of applications. However, despite being the most reliable energy harvesting technology, there are several challenges (especially power conversion efficiency, output DC voltage and sensitivity) poised for the implementation of RF energy harvesting systems. In this article, a detailed literature on RF energy harvesting technology has been surveyed to provide guidance for RF energy harvesters design. Since signal strength of the received RF power is limited and weak, high efficiency state-of-the-art RF energy harvesters are required to design for providing sufficient DC supply voltage to wireless networks. Therefore, various designs and their trade-offs with comprehensive analysis for RF energy harvesters have been discussed. This paper can serve as a good reference for the researchers to catch new research topics in the field of RF energy harvesting.
The excitation energy transfer process occurring in energy donor-acceptor linked porphyrin array system is theoretically simulated using the on-the-fly filtered propagator path integral method. The compound consists of an energy donating meso-meso linked Zn(II) porphyrin array and an energy accepting 5,15-bisphenylethynylated Zn(II) porphyrin, in which the donor array and the acceptor are linked via a 1,4-phenylene spacer. Real-time path integral simulations provide time-evolution of the site population and the excitation energy transfer rate constants are determined. Simulations and experiments show an excellent agreement indicating that the path integration is a useful tool to investigate the energy transfer dynamics in molecular assemblies.

In South Korea, there have been many studies on efficient building-energy management using renewable energy facilities in single zero-energy houses or buildings. However, such management was limited due to spatial and economic problems. To realize a smart zero-energy city, studying efficient energy integration for the entire city, not just for a single house or building, is necessary. Therefore, this study was conducted in the eco-friendly energy town of Chungbuk Innovation City. Chungbuk successfully realized energy independence by converging new and renewable energy facilities for the first time in South Korea. This study analyzes energy data collected from public buildings in that town every minute for a year. We propose a smart city building-energy management model based on the results that combine various renewable energy sources with grid power. Supervised learning can determine when it is best to sell surplus electricity, or unsupervised learning can be used if there is a particular pattern or rule for energy use. However, it is more appropriate to use reinforcement learning to maximize rewards in an environment with numerous variables that change every moment. Therefore, we propose a power distribution algorithm based on reinforcement learning that considers the sales of Energy Storage System power from surplus renewable energy. Finally, we confirm through economic analysis that a 10% saving is possible from this efficiency.
Energy system models have been broadly used for the solution of the assessment of technical and economical characteristics in the national energy systems. The purpose of this study is to overview the structures, potentials and usefulness of system models for energy technology assessment. The conventional models developed so far are not aquate to analyze the energy and environmental problems simultaneously. Energy system models integrated by multiobjective programming are also reviewed and discussed in this paper to judge their usefulness and applicability in simultaneously analyzing the energy and environmental problems.
A method has been developed to estimate the kinetic energy release originating from the reverse critical energy in unimolecular ion dissociation. Contribution from the excess energy was estimated by RRKM theory, the statistical adiabatic model and the modified phase space calculation. This was subtracted from the experimental kinetic energy release distribution (KERD) via deconvolution. The present method has been applied to the KERDs in $H_2$, loss from $C_6H_6^+$ and HF loss from ${CH_2CF_2}^+$. In the present formalism, not only the energy in the reaction coordinate but also the energy in some transitional vibrational degrees of freedom at the transition state is thought to contribute to the experimental kinetic energy release. Details of the methods for treating the transitional modes are found not to be critical to the final outcome. For a reaction with small excess energy and large reverse critical energy. KERD is shown to be mainly governed by the reverse critical energy.
Environmental pollution is becoming more and more serious, and people gradually realize the harmfulness of environmental pollution, so they pay more and more attention to environmental problems. Also, the conflict between environmental issues and economic growth, and the renewable energy consumption is increasing. The emergence of renewable energy in China has improved the problem of energy shortages and further protects the environment. This article studied the renewable energy resources and the status quo of development and utilization, examined China's renewable energy development countermeasures and suggestions, and conducted an empirical analysis of the effect of renewable energy on economic growth in China. The empirical research concluded that energy consumption and renewable energy consumption have a positive and significant impact on economic growth, and the driving effect of traditional energy on GDP growth is still greater than the driving effect of renewable energy on GDP growth.
Recently the renewable energy has been used widely and the importance of renewable sources is bigger than before. So the government enforced a law to the public buildings to install the renewable energy facilities. The capacity of facilities is 5% of total construction cost until April 13, 2011. Since then, the government changed the law from 5% of total construction cost to 10% of predicted energy usage because of the practical use of the renewable energy facilities. So, in this study, the comparative analysis is conducted according to the law to the building installed PV system through the EnergyPlus simulation.
