A way of undertaking a research phase in graphic design (그래픽디자인 리서치 수행에 관한 연구)

  • This paper highlights the importance of design research and encourages an understanding of design tools that engage society and people. Twenty groups, a total of sixty students, were asked to participate in this project and they used an IDEO tool kit. A total of three surveys were given. One survey was given to the participants before participating in the project and another after the project. The last survey was given to six experts to evaluate the students' work. Preliminary analysis found that students, prior to participating in the project, replied heavily on Internet research and a literature review, and did not display a structured research process. Primary analysis showed that the groups that spent more time on research and utilised design tools performed better, particularly those utilising 'observation' techniques.

A Study on the PR Method of Cadastral Re-survey Project Using Hutton's PR Model (허튼(Hutton)의 PR모델을 이용한 지적재조사 홍보 방법)

  • This study is aimed at looking into the PR method of cadastral re-survey, and at looking for the reason of the delay of cadastral re-survey project. We thought that the reason why the cadastral re-survey project was delayed was a lack of a national agreement on it owing to an insufficient PR. So, to solve this question, we proposed an alternative plan for the PR method of cadastral re-survey, using Hutton's PR model. As a result of a study, a total of 31 PR methods was made which were apt for every practical PR on the basis of 6 three-dimensional models of PR practice. But, some of Hutton's PR models proved to be unfit for the cadastral re-survey project. Therefore, we formed and proposed a new model to apt for the cadastral re-survey project. The result of this study is expected to be of help in getting a foundation to form a national agreement on the quick operation of a upcoming cadastral re-survey project.

  • As the business environment is rapidly changing with globalization and complexity of information flows, the uncertainty is also very increased for project environment. Although many studies have been conducted to find out the critical factors for project success, there still exist different views to define project success. Furthermore, implementing success formula for one project does not necessarily guarantee a success for another project since there are other elements that impede the success of project. In this regards, it is imperative to examine what are the barriers to project success. This study aims to examine the barriers that impede the success of project. Past literature was thoroughly reviewed to collect and develop a preliminary list of elements that affected project performance negatively. Experts were interviewed to refine the list and the final list of the measurement items were developed. A survey questionnaire was developed with the final list of measurement items, and a survey was conducted on the practitioners with project experience. After the survey, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the final list to extract the component dimensions which in turn formed the group of project barriers. The exploratory factor analysis provided ten factors, which are difficulty of process management, failure of project feasibility analysis, cost overruns and lack of cost benefits, unclarity project plan, strategic consistency error, stakeholder conflict, inaccuracy of requirement definition, disturbance of communication, technical environment change, negative attitude of top management.

Applying the ADDIE Instructional Design Model to Multimedia Rich Project-based Learning Experiences in the Korean Classroom

  • The purpose of this study was to apply the ADDIE instructional design model to develop multimedia rich project-based learning methods for effective instruction in a Korean mechanical engineering high school. This study was conducted as action research based on a high school situation. The study included 40 participants in a class purposively selected from 52 classes at 2080 student high school. Data were collected through observations, surveys and artifacts. Results indicated the multimedia rich project-based learning allowed students to take part in learning activities and there was close cooperation with and among group members to create better products. Also, the flexibility in the project-based learning environment allowed the participants to make decisions about their abilities, resources, and plans. Recommendations and implications for teacher educators as well as in-service and pre-service teachers are also presented.

  • This study is case study. The purpose of this study is to analysis 'the project of market' connected with ESD in early childhood education and to examine children's meaningful experiences during the process. This study was carried out in the kindergarten in K city, Chunng-Nam. 5-year children of 2 classes were participated. The results of this study concluded as follows: 'The project of market' showed the possibilities of ESD through reconstructing the existing curriculum. In every stage of the project, skills of ESD were included and developed. This project reflected the key concepts of social, environmental, economic areas. This project resulted by integrated curriculum, participatory engagement, multiple instructional methods.

  • For this study, we reviewed theoretical background of STEAM education and domestic and international studies in STEAM education, by doing so, we developed and applied the STEAM education program based on topic-specific project. This program is designed for the 3rd and 4th lesson of 6th graders' science in elementary school. As a result, the positive attitude about science of the students who went through the researched program increased with meaningful difference compared to that of the sample population. The result of this study shows that the STEAM education program based on topic-specific project can brings positive changes for the science-related affective domains.

  • The Republic of Korea developed a national project to construct a new administrative capital, Sejong city and to relocate administrative organizations of the central government for improvement of overpopulated capital, Seoul and regional balanced development. By the way, to relocate the central administrative organizations was not a sufficient condition for the sustainable development of the city. An industrial infrastructure development has been tried to attract universities, enterprises and research institutions in the region as a demand for internal growth power of the city was increased. In addtion, a basis for regional endogenous growth through projects to establish innovation system based on industry-academia cooperation was prepared as well. This paper reviews the major contents of the development plans for Tech-Valley project and looks into major introductory functions, characterization plans, strategies for fostering strategic industry, cooperation system of the inside and outside the region, and a strategy for building innovation platform. This case can be regarded as a significance of constructing technology infrastructure for the sustainable growth by preparing foundation for establishing innovation system and a cluster based on this system in the process of building and developing new city which did not have any industrial platform in the region.

Evaluation Factors Influencing Construction Price Index in Fuzzy Uncertainty Environment

  • In recent years, Vietnam's economic growth rate has been attributed to the growth of many well-managed industries within Southeast Asia. Among them is the civil construction industry. Construction projects typically take a long time to complete and require a huge budget. Many socio-economic variables and factors affect total construction project costs due to market fluctuations. In recent years, crucial socioeconomic development indicators of construction reached a fairly high growth rate. Also, most infrastructure and construction projects have a high degree of complexity and uncertainty. This makes it challenging to predict the accurate project price. These challenges raise the need to recognize significant factors that influence the construction price index of civil buildings in Vietnam, both micro and macro. Therefore, this paper presents critical factors that affect the construction price index using the fuzzy extent analysis process in an uncertain environment. This proposed quantitative model is expected to reflect the uncertainty in the process of evaluating and ranking the influencing factors of the construction price index in Vietnam. The research results would also allow project stakeholders to be more informed of the factors affecting the construction price index in the context of Vietnam's civil construction industry. They also enable construction contractors to estimate project costs and bid rates better, enhancing their project and risk management performance.

The Effect of Interdisciplinary Cooperation Project Learning on Communication, Problem-Solving, and Self-Directed Learning Ability of University Students (전공 간 협력 프로젝트 학습이 대학생의 의사소통, 문제해결, 자기주도적 학습능력에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore how an educator can empower students by fostering communication, problem-solving, and self-directed learning ability. Method: In order to accomplish this purpose, 136 students who were attending J University and 105 students attending M University participated in the questionnaire. The students were freshman in the nursing or social welfare departments, There were 136 in the control group and 105 in the experimental group. The control group was given an applicable class of project learning. On the other hand, the experimental group was given traditional lessons once a week for 15 weeks. The research instrument used the measuring instruments developed by KEDI for communication and problem-solving and self-directed learning ability. Data was analysed by ANCOVA with SPSS/PC. Result: The results of analysis show that communication, problem-solving, and self-directed learning ability significantly increased in the experimental group. Conclusion: Based on the research finding, project learning has an educational value. Interdisciplinary cooperation project learning is effective for communication, problem-solving, and self-directed learning ability.

  • Document managements are very important in internal communication for good performance on projects. In case of small scale projects, the document management criteria often have very different from each of the cooperation departments and changes of document structure of work process are frequent over a project period. In this thesis, we propose a monitoring system of document management which is based on P2P(Peer-to-Peer). The proposed monitoring system of document management, which is based on P2P, makes up for time limits and a specific work process in small scale project groups. It can be managed focusing on work process and can monitor effectively the status of creations, sharing and distributions of documents. We can be installed at a low cost by using P2P in a small scale project.
