근로자 자본참가의 생산성효과 (The Productivity Effects of Worker Participation in Capital)

  • The purpose of this study is primarily to analyse empirically the productivity effects of worker participation in capital by Korean employee stock ownership plan that had taken newly effect on and after January 1,2002, and secondarily to examine the impact of unionization on productivity. The analysis data are those of 150 firms that listed or registered on the stock market, and introduced ESOP. The result of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the worker participation in capitia have significantly a positive effect on productivity, but the magnitude of those effects vary according to estimation models and sectors. The elasticity of stock share owned by employees on productivity is from 0.03 to 0.24. Second, there is no unitary relationship between unionization and productivity. The coefficients of union dummy variable are positive or negative according to models and sectors as well as insignificant.

The Effect of Labor Union and its Power on Information Opacity: Evidence Based on Stock Price Crash Risk

  • This study investigates the effect of labor union and its power on information opacity. Given that the information opacity ultimately leads to the stock price crash, this study examines the relationship between labor unions and future stock price crash risk. Further, by assuming a strike by labor union as the actual power of the unionization in firms, whether labor union's power subrogated by the activity (i.e., a strike) makes a significant difference in the likelihood of future stock price crash between unionized firms is also examined. The work place survey data provided by Korea Labor Institute is used to test the hypotheses. The data is for the periods of 2004 - 2012 on firms listed on Korea Stock Exchange and KOSDAQ. The results show that while labor unionization has a positive impact on future stock price crash risk, on which labor union's power has a negative impact. This means that the existence of labor union itself might facilitate firm's information to be opaque by tolerating manager opportunism, while its power mitigates the managerial opportunism, which leads to lower future stock price crash risk. This study adds to the literature on the role of labor unions as nonfinancial stakeholders and its power in accounting environment, and also on the determinants of stock price crash. It is also valuable to examine the unions' role in terms of the economic consequences of both presence and power of the labor unions.

  • Worldwide, Certification systems for standard of material and quality of product exist very variously. Korean industrial Standard (KS) is most representatively certification systems in Korea. But laboratory of korea uses often ASTM, RILEM and JIS and these standards do not get into unionization. so, Granted that experiment is same, result still can different. Therefore, this research measured chloride amount of hardened concrete using identical material and wished to improve accuracy of chloride estimation as that comparison evaluate to each examination.

Labor Market Regulation and MNE's Production: Evidence from OECD Countries

  • Purpose - This paper examines the impact of labor market regulations on FDI and the production of foreign firms. Design/methodology - We use an index of employment protection along with data on the FDI and production of foreign affiliates that are provided by the OECD. Findings - The empirical results show that strict employment protection discourages both the production and initial entry of foreign firms, with its impact on production being larger than that on the initial entry decision. The result is robust to various specifications in which instrumental variable estimations are used by applying a unionization rate and a severance pay for redundancy dismissal as instruments, respectively. Therefore, policymakers should not limit their focus to tax incentives, cash grants, and relaxation of market regulations, but they should also extend their attention to labor market deregulation and decreasing non-wage cost to attract more foreign firms into their countries. Originality/value - This paper attempts to answer the question on the impact of employment protection rules on the foreign firm's decisions regarding production as well as initial entry.

취업여성의 직업만족도 연구 (A Study on Job Satisfaction levels Among Employed Women; comparison Between Married and single women)

  • This study examined job satisfaction levels between employed single women and employed married women. The specific objectives of this study were; (1) to investigate differences in the level of job satisfaction between employed single women and employed married women; (2)to investigate the factors which influence the level of job satisfaction; (3)to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and life satisfaction. the data used in this study included 441 working women from 290 (65.8 %) single women and 151 (34.2%) married women. Statistical analyses were conducted using frequencies, percentiles, mean , t-test , ANOVA, pearson's correlation and a stepwise multiple regression. The major findings were ; (1) at the P<.005 level, there was a significant difference in the job Satisfaction Index (JSI) between employed single and married women by using the t-test ; (2) Occupation, type of organization , job experiences, travel time from home to work. unionization, age, and health status were significantly related to the JSI by using the one-way ANOVA; (3) Thee was an interaction effect between income and marital status on the JSI, and between education and marital status on the JSI; (4) Using a stepwise multiple regression method, the order of variables as they were entered in the model were different between employed single and married women; (5) There was a positive relationship between the JSI and Life Satisfaction Index(r=.41)

고용구조와 정리해고·명예퇴직의 비율 (Employment Structure and the Ratio of Downsized Workforce)

  • 본 연구는 경제위기가 진행된 1998년을 전후로 한 시기에 우리 나라의 상당수 기업에서 진행된 정리해고 명예퇴직의 결정요인을 경기침체와 기업의 인력구조의 변화라는 측면에서 규명하였다. 분석 결과 경기침체를 겪으면서 많은 기업에서 진행된 감원은 경기변동 요인 이외에 기업의 인력구조를 변화시키려는 노력의 일환에서 비롯된 것으로 나타났다. 또한 연공급적 성격의 강도에 대한 대리변수로 사용된 유노조 기업에서 근속년수가 높을수록 감원비율이 높게 나타나, 연공급 성격이 강할수록 근속년수와 고용조정 간의 연관성이 높음을 보여주었다.

  • 현재 우리가 살고 있는 세상은 획일적 통일화에서 감성적 다변화 시대로, 모더니즘에서 포스트모더니즘으로, 남성의 이성에서 여성의 감성으로 변화되고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 주얼리 디자인 분야도 당연 사회와 패션의 흐름에 맞춰 변화할 필요가 있다. 현 사회의 가장 큰 시장변화의 흐름을 파악하기 위해 감성디자인과 아트마케팅이란 시장변화에 주목했으며, 이를 통해 여성적 감성과 개인의 개성이 이 두 분야에 가장 큰 주축임을 확인하였다. 본 연구자 또한 여성이기에 나의 감성과 개성을 표현할 수 있는 2가지 테마의 명화를 선정하였으며, 이를 주얼리 디자인과 접목해 새로운 감성 주얼리 디자인을 연구해 보고자 한다.

사무용 기기의 전기품질 영향 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effect Estimation for Power Quality of Office Appliances)

  • 최근 국제화 시대에 부응하여 유럽, 미국 등 선진 각국에서는 각국 규격의 통일화 작업을 진행하고 있으며, 시대적으로 우리나라도 적극적으로 대응하지 않으면 경제적인 불이익이 예상된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 흐름에 대응의 일환으로 사무용 기기에 대한 전기품질 시험을 수행하고 분석하고자 PC, PC 모니터, 프린터 및 팩스 4종의 사무용 기기에 대한 고조파와 플리커 발생 실태를 시험하였다. 시험한 결과 프린터와 PC 모니터는 안정적이었지만 Desktop PC와 FAX에서 2004년 1월까지 유효한 EN 규격에 제시된 제한치 이상의 고조파와 플리커 현상이 나타났으며, 이에 대한 대응책을 제시하였다.

임금분산에 대한 노동조합의 효과: 제조업을 중심으로 (The Effect of Labor Unions on the Wage Variance in Korean Manufacturing Industry)

  • "임금구조기본통계조사" 자료를 이용하여 1988년부터 2012년까지 한국의 노동조합이 제조업에 종사하는 남성 근로자의 임금분산에 미친 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지난 20여 년 동안 노조-비노조부문 간 임금분산의 격차가 확대된 것은 비노조부문에서 사업체 간 임금분산이 급격히 확대되었기 때문이었다. 노조부문의 사업체 간 임금분산이 별로 변하지 않은 것은 사업체 노조 사이에 연대임금정책이 작동하고 있기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 둘째, 노조와 비노조부문 간 임금분산의 격차를 분해한 결과 최근에 인적자본에 대한 보상의 차이로 인한 분산의 격차가 확대되었음을 발견하였다. 셋째, 노동조합은 전체 근로자의 임금분산을 축소시키는 역할을 하였으며 이는 노동조합의 약화가 임금불평등을 확대하는 데 기여하였음을 시사한다.
