The goal of this paper is accuracy improvement of appearance inspection by using image separation average value matching method. The appearance inspection of various electronic products and parts has been executed by the eyesight of human. But inspection by eyesight can't bring about uniform inspection result. Because the appearance inspection result by eyesight of human is changed by condition of physical and spirit of the checker. So machine vision inspection system is currently used to many appearance inspection fields instead of the checker. However the inspection result of machine vision is changed by the illumination of workplace. Therefore we have used a average value matching in this paper for improvement of vision inspection accuracy and could increase inspection accuracy of vision system. In other words, we made an effort for elevation of vision inspection accuracy by making the identical image separation average value of reference image and input image. Also this system has been developed only using PC, CCD Camera and Visual C++ for universal workplace.
This study was performed to explore the liquid breakup and atomization characteristics for the classification of drop formation mode and background of uniform droplets generation in electrohydrodynmaic atomization according to the change of experimental parameters such as nozzle material (stainless steel. teflon). fluid flow rate, applied electrical field and intensity, and frequency. In results, from the classification map of drop formation modes according to the variation of applied AC voltage and frequency at a stainless nozzle, the droplet size was smaller than the outer diameter of the nozzle tip relatively in the spindle mode. The transition points became clearly to be moved toward the high applied voltage by rising the applied AC frequency beyond 450Hz. Also the droplet radius can be observed quite small in the frequency bandwidth of $350{\sim}450Hz$. The droplet radiuses decrease as the applied voltage increases for a fixed applied AC frequency within the range from 50Hz to 400Hz Over 400Hz, the relation between the power intensity and the droplet size was not consistent with a continuous mechanism of liquid breakup. Thus, it is showed that the droplet size distribution using the teflon nozzle was analogous to the results of stainless steel, but the droplet size was bigger than that of stainless steel relatively in case of a teflon nozzle.

This paper describes a design for the circularly polarized microstrip EMC cross dipole array antenna with the wide bandwidth. To realize the characteristics of wide bandwidth and circular polarization, the electromagnetic-coupled cross dipole element is proposed. The optimum design parameters of a circularly polarized EMC cross dipole element are calculated by the FDTD and the Ensemble. To obtain the uniform aperture illumination of electric field in an array, offset technique that the cross dipole elements are alternatively arranged on center of the microstrip feed line is adopted. In 20-element array design, the calculated axial ratio and gain are about 0.1dB and 9.9 dBi at 12 GHz, respectively, The frequency characteristics of a fabricated 20-element array antenna are measured. The calculated results agree well with the measured ones.

It is now widely accepted that the resulting displacement field within elastic, inhomogeneous, anisotropic solids subjected to equipartitioned, uniform illumination from uncorrelated sources, has intensities that follow diffusion-like equations. Typically, coda waves are invoked to illustrate this concept. These waves arrive later as a consequence of multiple scattering and appear at "the tail" (coda, in Latin) of seismograms and are usually considered an example of diffuse field. It has been demonstrated that the average correlations of motions within a diffuse field, in frequency domain, is proportional to the imaginary part of Green's function tensor. If only one station is available, the average autocorrelation is equal to the average squared amplitudes or the average power spectrum and this gives the Green's function at the source itself. Several works address this point from theoretical and experimental point of view. However, a complete and explicit analytical description is lacking. In this work we study analytically some properties of the Green's function, specifically the imaginary part of Green's function for 2D antiplane problems. This choice is guided by the fact that these scalar problems have a closed analytical solution (Kausel 2006). We assume the diffusiveness of the field and explore its analytical consequences.
Metal halide perovskite (MHP) nanocrystals (NCs) have emerged as promising materials for various optoelectronic applications including photovoltaics, light-emitting devices, and photodetectors because of their high absorption coefficient, high diffusion length, and photoluminescence quantum yield. However, understanding the morphological evolution of the MHP NCs as well as their controlled assembly into optoelectronic devices is still challenging and will require further investigation of the colloidal chemistry. In this study, we found that the amount of n-octylamine (the capping agent) plays a crucial role in inducing further growth of the MHP NCs into one-dimensional nanowires during the aging process. In addition, we demonstrate that the dielectrophoresis process can permit self-alignment of the MHP nanowires with uniform distribution and orientation on interdigitated electrodes. A strong light-matter interaction in the MHP NWs array was observed under UV illumination, indicating the photo-induced activation of their luminescence and electrical current in the self-aligned MHP nanowire arrays.

This study is intended to compare physical properties of fluorescent luminaires with ones of LED luminaires so as to analyze fundamental characteristics of LED luminaires. For this, a comparative analysis of uniformity ratio of illuminance and luminance distribution of these two luminaires was made, and materials for applying LED luminaires to interior construction space were prepared. This study was carried out in four stages. First, a theoretical review on LED illumination light source was made compared with the existing luminaires. Second, a mock-up to control experimental variables to meet the objective of this study was manufactured. Third uniformity ratio of illuminance and luminance distribution of each luminaire were measured by using the mock-up. Fourth, a comparative analysis of uniformity ratio of illuminance and characteristics of luminance distribution of the existing fluorescent luminaires and LED ones was made. As a result of the study, the uniformity ratio of illuminance of LED luminaires, 0.559, was higher than one of the existing fluorescent luminaires, 0.522. Namely, it was shown that illuminance distribution of LED luminaires was uniform and global diffuse was good. As a result of measuring luminance distribution, it was found that luminance distribution of LED luminaires was more uniform than one of the existing fluorescent luminaires. The maximum luminance of fluorescent luminaires and LED luminaires over the wall was $180.6[cd/m^2]$ and $155.26[cd/m^2]$ respectively. Namely, the maximum luminance of fluorescent luminaires was higher than one of LED luminaires. The average luminance of fluorescent luminaires and LED luminaires was $44.32[cd/m^2]$ and $58.65[cd/m^2]$. Like this, the average luminance of LED luminaires was higher than one of fluorescent luminaires. Considering these results, it's thought that LED luminaires can give a person in the room a more comfortable working environment than fluorescent luminaires.

Here we present a simple flame detection method for an infrared (IR) thermal camera based real-time fire surveillance digital signal processor (DSP) system. Infrared thermal cameras are especially advantageous for unattended fire surveillance. All-weather monitoring is possible, regardless of illumination and climate conditions, and the data quantity to be processed is one-third that of color videos. Conventional IR camera-based fire detection methods used mainly pixel-based temporal correlation functions. In the temporal correlation function-based methods, temporal changes in pixel intensity generated by the irregular motion and spreading of the flame pixels are measured using correlation functions. The correlation values of non-flame regions are uniform, but the flame regions have irregular temporal correlation values. To satisfy the requirement of early detection, all fire detection techniques should be practically applied within a very short period of time. The conventional pixel-based correlation function is computationally intensive. In this paper, we propose an IR camera-based simple flame detection algorithm optimized with a compact embedded DSP system to achieve early detection. To reduce the computational load, block-based calculations are used to select the candidate flame region and measure the temporal motion of flames. These functions are used together to obtain the early flame detection algorithm. The proposed simple algorithm was tested to verify the required function and performance in real-time using IR test videos and a real-time DSP system. The findings indicated that the system detected the flames within 5 to 20 seconds, and had a correct flame detection ratio of 100% with an acceptable false detection ratio in video sequence level.
Behavioral response to a diel photoperiodicity (500 lx for 16 h, 5 lx for 4 h and < 0.5 lx for 4 h) and phototactic characteristics in dark conditions were examined with Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii (Chondrostei, Actinopterygii) prelarvae. Siberian sturgeon prelarvae represented both qualitative and quantitative changes in their behavioral patterns according to different light intensities in a diel photoperiodicity. Under daylight conditions (500 lx), prelarvae displayed saltatory changes of behavioral features with ages (Day 0-Day 9) in a general order of swimming-up/drifting, swimming in the upper water column, benthic swimming with rheotaxis, schooling and post-schooling behavior. Compared to daylight conditions, prelarvae tended to show more benthic performances and quantitative reductions of schooling and post-schooling behaviors under dimlight conditions (5 lx). Under dark conditions (< 0.5 lx), prelarvae exhibited a fairly uniform behavioral pattern characterized by the benthic swimming across the bottom of the tank. From phototaxis tests under dark conditions, navigational responses of prelarvae to a spotlight illumination were quantitatively changed as their ages increased. The phototactic responses reached the peak on Day 2, continued until Day 4, and then gradually decreased until Day 8. A partial recovery of positive phototaxis was observed on Day 9. Data from this study suggest that the diel light cycle as well as the light intensity of each interval in the cycle should be considered as important components of a practical guide for evaluating fitness and developmental states of artificially propagated Siberian sturgeon prelarvae.
Tumor cell morphology is closely related to its migratory behaviors. An active tumor cell has a highly irregular shape, whereas a spherical cell is inactive. Thus, quantitative analysis of cell features is crucial to determine tumor malignancy or to test the efficacy of anticancer treatment. We use 3D time-lapse phase-contrast microscopy to analyze single cell morphology because it enables to observe long-term activity of living cells without photobleaching and phototoxicity, which is common in other fluorescence-labeled microscopy. Despite this advantage, there are image-level drawbacks to phase-contrast microscopy, such as local light effect and contrast interference ring. Therefore, we first corrected for non-uniform illumination artifacts and then we use intensity distribution information to detect cell boundary. In phase contrast microscopy image, cell is normally appeared as dark region surrounded by bright halo ring. Due to halo artifact is minimal around the cell body and has non-symmetric diffusion pattern, we calculate cross sectional plane which intersects center of each cell and orthogonal to first principal axis. Then, we extract dark cell region by analyzing intensity profile curve considering local bright peak as halo area. Finally, we calculated the Fourier descriptor that morphological characteristics of cell to classify tumor cells into active and inactive groups. We validated classification accuracy by comparing our findings with manually obtained results.
In this paper, an omnidirectional visible light detector was developed by making the detecting surface of a flexible solar cell in a cylindrical form, which has a uniform receiving pattern in the horizontal plane. This solar cell detector receives simultaneously multiple signal lights incident from different directions and provides electrical power to the ASK demodulator in the receiver. In experiments, time division transmission method was used to receive three signal lights incident from different directions to the solar cell detector. Each signal light was ASK modulated using a carrier of 40 kHz, and the synchronizing pulses required for time division transmission were generated by detecting the 120 Hz AC signal included in the indoor illumination lamp with Cds cells. This receiving structure is useful in constructing an $N{\times}1$ optical link in visible light communication.
