A two-step procedure to detect and quantify damages in structures from changes in curvature mode shapes is presented here. In the first step the maximum difference in curvature mode shapes of the undamaged and damaged structure are used for visual identification of the damaged internal-substructure. In the next step, the identified substructures are searched using unified particle swarm optimization technique for exact identification of damage location and amount. Efficiency of the developed procedure is demonstrated using beam like structures. This methodology may be extended for identifying damages in general frame structures.

Recent manufacturing system requires development on new production technology to enable prompt manufacturing of diverse products. Most of the researchers have been working on micro-factory. Especially, focus on manufacturing of micro parts. Present manufacturing system consumes excessive resources in the form of energy and space to manufacture the micro parts. In this study, the micro lens module assembly system was modeled, analyzed with MST(Micro System Technology) Application Module and simulated through UML Language (Unified Modeling Language) with object-oriented logical model analysis method. Digital model of micro-factory was modeled, to execute the new paradigm of digitalization on products, resources and processes of micro-factory.

This paper proposes a distribution voltage control method when a voltage increase condition occurs due to reverse power flow from the clustered photovoltaic (PV) system. This proposed distribution voltage control is performed a by distribution-unified power flow controller (D-UPFC). D-UPFC consists of a hi-directional ac-ac converter and transformer. It does not use any energy storage component or rectifier circuit, but it directly converts ac to ac. The distribution model and D-UPFC voltage control using the ATP-EMTP program were simulated and the results show the voltage increase control in the distribution system.

Because there are no unified nomenclature systems for either GES-type or IBC-type extended-spectrum ${\beta}-lactamases$ (ESBLs), we propose a unified and definitive nomenclature system for GES/IBC-type ESBLs. This proposed nomenclature update is greatly helpful in two points: (i) it would not confuse microbiologists studying GES-type ESBLs, fundamentally preventing misleading nomenclature of these antibiotic resistance genes, and (ii) the definitive renaming of GES/IBC-type ESBLs can help some researchers to correctly designate new GES-type ESBLs such as novel enzymes identified trom some nationwide surveys.

This paper deals with single-phase unified power quality conditioner, which aims at the integration of series-active and shunt-active tilter. The series filter is used to compensate for the voltage distortions and the shunt filter is used to provide reactive power and counteract the harmonic current injected by the load. Also, the voltage of the DC link capacitor is controlled to a desired value by the shunt active filter. In order to verify the performance of the proposed conditioner, computer simulations using MATLAB/SIMULINK were demonstrated. The results confirm that the proposed conditioner shows excellent performance to eliminate the harmonics and voltage flickers generated at the singe-phase nonlinear load.

MPEG 오디오에서는 오디오 신호의 효율적인 압축을 위해서 마스킹 효과, spectral band replication을 이용한 고주파 성분 합성, parametric stereo를 이용한 채널 확장 등의 기술을 이용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이 중 최신 기술에 해당하는 채널 확장 기술에 대해서 소개한다. 또한, MPEG 오디오 코덱 중 이 기술을 이용하는 HE-AAC v.2, MPEG Surround, Spatial Audio Object Coding(SAOC), Unified Speech and Audio Coding (USAC)에 대해 기술 소개 및 방송의 적용 예를 기술한다.

RUP(Rational Unified Process)의 Unified Process Model 에는 Use Case Model, Analysis Model, Design Model, Deployrnent Model, Implementation model, Test Model의 6가지 모델이 있다. 이 모델들은 다음단계의 모델에 대한 일관성 및 의존성을 가진다. 한 모델에서 발생되는 요소들은 전, 후 단계에서 다른 모델들과 Trace Dependencies 를 갖는다. 이러한 의존적인 관계들은 각각의 요소들 사이의 진행, 기록 관계를 나타낸다. 그러나 대부분의 시스템은 이러한 관계 및 의존성 없이 설계되어져 전체적인 일관성을 이루지 못 하였다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 관계를 유지 하면서 사용자의 요구사항에 일관성 있는 Use Case 모델을 설계하고자 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 대학 종합정보시스템 구축의 일부분인 구매관리 시스템을 분석하여 컴포넌트 시스템 모델을 제시한다.

통합 음성/오디오 부호화기 (Unified Speech and Audio Coding, USAC)는 2011년 MPEG에서 FDIS (Final Draft International Standard)를 승인받은 최고 성능의 통합 음성/오디오 부호화기이다. 전통적으로 MPEG에서는 복호화기 기술만 표준화하므로 인코더 기술에 대한 고찰이 쉽지 않을 뿐 아니라, 예제로 공개하는 인코더 (Reference Model, RM)의 경우에도 기본 아이디어만을 포함하고 있기 때문에 이를 사용할 경우 성능 저하가 매우 심각하다. 성능 열화는 매우 심각하다. 이러한 문제를 최소화하기 위해 오픈 소스 기반으로 진행되고 있는 프로젝트 JAME에서는 USAC에 적용된 핵심 인코더 기술의 성능을 최대화 할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 입력 신호에 따라 두 코더가 선택적으로 동작되게 하는 신호 분류기와 심리 음향 모델을 기반으로 하는 주파수 부호화 기술, 그리고 전이 윈도우 기술 등의 주요 인코더 기술들에 대하여 소개한다. 또한 FDIS를 위한 verification test 결과와 Common Encoder의 성능 평가를 덧붙인다.
