  • A smart card based on the existing Java card platform executes and installs an application only when the power is supplied for a minute. And preparing for unexpected power outrage, the execution state of an application and all the data that are modified during execution are saved in the heap. This kind of frequent data update of an EEPROM data is a main cause of reducing the life-cycle of a smart card. This is because the smart card has been developed not considering the current situation that the power is always supplied, and by this time it has continuously kept its old architecture. This paper explains the high performance Java card system free power restriction. The system improves not only application saving mechanism, but memory architecture. In special, we deploy RAM for running an applet, as well as EEPROM for downloading an application. Through proposed mechanism, we can find out performance evaluation that the creation speed of an applet and the execution speed of a method increase up to 58% and 33% respectively.

  • Successful development of weapon systems requires a stringent verification and validation (V&V) process due to the nature of the weapons in which continual increase of operational capability makes the system requirements more complicated to meet. Thus, test and evaluation (T&E) of weapon systems is becoming more difficult. In such a situation, live fire tests appear to be effective and useful methods in not only carrying out V&V of the weapon systems under development, but also increasing the maturity of the end users operability of the system. However, during the process for live fire tests, a variety of accidents or mishaps can happen due to explosion, pyro, separation, and so on. As such, appropriate means to mitigate mishap possibilities should be provided and applied during the live fire tests. To study a way of how to accomplish it is the objective of this paper. To do so, top-level sources of hazard are first identified. A framework for T&E is also described. Then, to enhance the test range safety, it is discussed how test scenarios can be generated. The proposed method is based on the use of the anticipatory failure determination (AFD) and multiple event tree analysis (ETA) in analyzing range safety. It is intended to identify unexpected hazard components even in the environment with constraints. It is therefore expected to reduce accident possibilities as an alternative to the traditional root-cause analysis.

  • It is a current situation that a large number of physical and financial damages are increasing due to the growth of intellectual cyber crime and unexpected Internet incidents year by year. In the large scale security incidents, digital forensics techniques for computer crime investigations are essential to secure a place in the field. However, qualified digital forensics investigators who complete with digital security technology are practically insufficient in domestic. In this paper, as one of developing human resources plans regarding to scientific investigation of Internet security incidents, an undergraduate curriculum per stage in digital forensics was proposed. For the effective curriculum per stage, the interviews, group discussion on focused group of existing digital forensics investigators and related research were performed to select curriculum, and then the level of difficulty and practical suitability on each subject designed were analyzed through survey and interview to current investigators and security professionals. After collating the survey, the digital forensic curriculum per level was designed to highly adaptable workforce for the future for working and positive suggestions and proposals are addressed.

  • In this paper, we propose ubiWarehouse system which can efficiently manages mass and many kinds of parts such as automotive parts. First, user's work situation is defined systematically as context type of 5W1H, context-aware system is separated on function, and each module operates independently. An efficient route is selected and relevant parts frequently treated at the same time are gathered by calculating the suitability of parts and racks. If other users currently are on a visit or are supposed to visit soon, the hun of visit is changed making a concession for preventing collision. As a result, the proposed system with avoiding competition can provide users with routes for inbound or outbound parts, and can effectively use spaces of a warehouse by arranging racks to gather relevant parts to near location. Also, individual service can be offered by evaluating user propensity using history of the warehouse job, and the accuracy of stock information can be improved by processing of unexpected context and real-time renewing of warehousing and delivering.

Characteristics of Motorcycle Collisions by Work Experience of Delivery Postmen

  • Objective:This study is on the characteristics of motorcycle accidents occurring in the mail delivery process by skill level. Background: The tendency of delivery postmen's driving in a hurry may become the cause of accidents since there is a constraint that delivery should be completed within a limited time. Method: This study analyzed the traffic accident data of 259 delivery postmen, who had been approved as occupation-related industrial accident victims from 2009 to 2012, by their work experience in view of season, day of the week of an accident occurrence, accident occurrence time, accident cause, collision type, and driving situation. Results: Accident characteristics of delivery postmen show that the ratio of accidents occurring to those who had less than 10 years of work experience was high. There were many motorcycle collisions in winter and summer by season and an unexpected object, along with road condition, took up 70.7% of the accident sources. There were no differences in accident occurrence time, the day of the week, season, accident source, and collision type between the group of delivery postmen with less than 10 years of work experience and those with 10 years or more of work experience. However, there was a difference in distribution of driving condition. Conclusion and Applications: The results of this study can be used to present the policies or guidelines for the accident prevention of delivery postmen since the results show the characteristics of the injured and accident occurrence characteristics in relation with the delivery postmen's motorcycle collisions.

  • Korean linguistics or linguistics In Korea has the viviparous limitation that on the one hand, it was influxed from Europe and Japan and on the other hand, these days the American linguistics takes the initiative in Korea. That's why Korean linguistics cannot be free of the problems of 'dependence/independence', 'central/marginal', etc. It calls for two conditions to study the nature of Korean itself and to establish the independence of Korean linguistics in this situation. The first condition is that we should reveal some peculiarities of Korean in itself. The second condition is that we should reveal universals of Korean by comparing it objectively with other languages which are typologically and genealogically different. 1 think the first is important but the latter is more important. To meet the second condition, we analysed the expansion structure of NP in Korean and French, and suggested a new tree-diagram for describing equivalently the NP structure of the two languages. As for VP structure, we suggested some possibilities of comparing the final endings in Korean with personal pronouns in French, and of comparing the prefinal ending 'si' in Korean with the second plural pronoun 'vous', etc. As a result of the comparison of Korean and French, we came to conclusion that Korean is a inflectional agglutinative language while French is a agglutinative inflectional one. In other words, they are same in 'typus', are different in 'topos'. This may be a surprising/unexpected conclusion. But this, we think, can lead us to much closer approach to the nature of the two languages Korean and French.

  • Driver ordinarily takes sudden braking when urgent situation is developed or when the vehicle is involved in an unexpected accident. Therefore, the most common trace at a traffic accident scene is skid mark. Currently, in investigating traffic accident, overspeed is determined by the length of skid mark. However, in order to identify accurate cause of accident, estimation of pre-braking speed which takes into account speed reduction during transient time should be considered as a requirement. In a recent study, several ways to estimate pre-braking speed were suggested, but none considered to differentiate the decelerating transient brake section and skidding section. This study analyzed trends of decelerating transient brake section and skidding section by real braking test.

  • As humanoid robot technology advances, the use of robots for performance is increasing. As a result, studies are being conducted to increase the scope of use of robots in performances by making them natural like humans. Among them, the use of motion capture technology is often used, and there are environmental inconveniences in preparing for motion capture, such as the need for IMU sensors or markers attached to each part of the body and precise high-performance cameras. In addition, for robots used in performance technology, there is a problem that they have to respond in real time depending on the unexpected situation or the audience's response. To make up for the above mentioned problems, in this paper, we proposed a real-time motion capture system by using a number of RGB-D cameras and creating natural robot motion similar to human motion by using motion-captured data.

  • Purpose: Once the decision has been made to adopt an integrated medical information system (IMIS), there are a number of issues to overcome. Users need to be aware of the impact the change will make on end users and be prepared to address issues that arise before they become problems. The purpose of this study is to investigate the benefits and unexpected problems encountered in the implementation of IMIS and to determine a useful framework for IMIS. Materials and Methods: The Yonsei University Dental Hospital is steadily constructing an IMIS. The vendor's PACS software, Piview STAR, supports transactions between workstations that are approved to integrating the healthcare enterprise (IHE) with security function. It is necessary to develop an excellent framework that is good for the patient, healthcare provider and information system vendors, in an expert, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Results : The problems encountered with IMIS implementation were high initial investments, delay of EMR enforcement, underdevelopment of digital radiographic appliances and software and insufficient educational training for users. Conclusions: The clinical environments of dental IMIS is some different from the medical situation. The best way to overcome these differences is to establish a gold standard of dental IMIS integration, which estimates the cost payback. The IHE and its technical framework are good for the patient, the health care provider and all information systems vendors.

  • Even many kinds of Internet-based services have been generated due to the great development of the Internet. PSTN still exists in the center of the national infrastructure network and the transit exchanges will be maintained the core roles in PSTN for many years in the future. These transit exchanges often suffer from unexpected overload situation because they have to process Intelligent Network calls and mobile calls additionally as well as POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service). In this paper, we suggest an efficient overload control algorithm for the distributed transit switching system under the various types of call services. We also show that this algorithm can be implemented easily cooperating with the network management control functions. The simulation technique is used to show that the proposed algorithm effectively controls calls and maintains safely the call processor's load under the various kinds of overload situations.
