  • This study analyzes the unequal distributional effect of threesome of family policy(child benefit, childcare services and parental leave) focusing on family income, mother's status in labor market in Korea. To measure the unequal distributional effect of family policies, this study used the quantile analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, in terms of childcare service and parental leave, there is some difference of the rate of use by family income and mother's status in labor market. Second, total public fund for childcare services, child benefits and parental leave are high in fourth income quintile, and mothers work regularly. Third, public fund is high in fourth income quintile, dual earners, mothers work regularly, the family has many number of child, and is high educational level of parents. Finally, the results of quantile regression show the biggest factors of unequal distribution of family policy are mother's stable work and it deepens the inequalities and differences. Based on these results, this article suggests that more equal right to access and use family policy regardless of the type of employment, adequate minimum income through income transfer, and universal application of the policy.

  • This study investigates characteristics of time series spatial distribution on climate factors in Andong Dam basin by estimating precise spatio-temporal distribution of hydro-meteorological information. A spatio-temporal distribution by estimating Semi-Variogram based on spatial autocorrelation was examined using the data from ASOS and 7 hydro-meteorological observatories in Andong Dam basin of upper Nakdonggang River, which were installed and observed by NIMR(National Institute of Meterological Research). Also, temperature and humidity as climate variables were analyzed and it was recognized that there is a variability in watershed area by time and months. Regardless of season, an equal spatial distribution of temperature at 14 o'clock and humidity at 10 o'clock was identified, and nonequal distribution was noticed for both variables at 18 o'clock. From monthly spatial analysis, the most unequal distribution of temperature was seen in January, and the most equal distribution was detected in September. The most unequal distribution of humidity was identified in May, and the most equal distribution was seen in January. Unlike in forest, seasonal spatial distribution characteristics were less apparent;but temperature and humidity had respective characteristics in hydro-meteorology.

  • Clustering wireless sensor network is an efficient way to reduce the energy consumption of individual nodes in a cluster. In clustering, multihop routing techniques increase the load of the Cluster head near the sink. This unbalanced load on the Cluster head increases its energy consumption, thereby Cluster heads die faster and create an energy hole problem. In this paper, we propose an Energy Balancing Cluster Head (EBCH) in wireless sensor network. At First, we balance the intra cluster load among the cluster heads, which results in nonuniform distribution of nodes over an unequal cluster size. The load received by the Cluster head in the cluster distributes their traffic towards direct and multihop transmission based on the load distribution ratio. Also, we balance the energy consumption among the cluster heads to design an optimum load distribution ratio. Simulation result shows that this approach guarantees to increase the network lifetime, thereby balancing cluster head energy.

  • In this paper, we want to develop objective priors for the common location parameter in two half-t distributions with unequal scale parameters. The half-t distribution is a non-regular class of distribution. One can not develop the reference prior by using the algorithm of Berger of Bernardo (1989). Specially, we derive the reference priors and prove the propriety of joint posterior distribution under the developed priors. Through the simulation study, we show that the proposed reference prior matches the target coverage probabilities in a frequentist sense.

  • Estimation of population proportion like the distribution rate of LED TV and the prevalence of a disease are often estimated based on survey sample data. Population proportion is generally considered as a special form of population mean. In complex sampling like stratified multistage sampling with unequal probability sampling, the denominator of mean may be random variable and it is estimated like ratio estimator. In this research, we examined the estimation of distribution rate based on stratified multistage sampling, and determined some numerical outcomes using stratified random sample data with about 25% of missing observations. In the data used for this research, the survey weight was determined by deterministic way. So, the weights are not random variable, and the population distribution rate and its variance estimator can be estimated like population mean estimation. When the weights are not random variable, if one estimates the variance of proportion estimator using ratio method, then the variances may be inflated. Therefore, in estimating variance for population proportion, we need to examine the structure of data and survey design before making any decision for estimation methods.

  • Most of countries are trying to increase the supply of renewable energy as the substitute of the fossil energy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. However, renewable energy sources account for only about 3.86% of the total Korea primary energy supply. To increase the rate of renewable energy in Korea's energy consumption, various policies for expanding the use of renewable energy should be applied. Also these policies should be consider renewable energy resources distribution and regional inequality. In this study, the potentials of photovoltaic, wind power and bioenergy from rice straw, livestock waste and food waste are calculated and the distribution characteristic and regional inequalities are analyzed using Gini's coefficient and Gini decomposition method. As the results, technical potentials of photovoltaic and wind power of city region(Gu) has more potential rate than theoretical potentials. Livestock waste has the most unequal distribution (Gini's coefficient: 0.617) among renewable resources.

  • This paper takes into account the influence of the different impedances of distribution lines on power distribution among inverters when the inverters are paralleled with the droop control method. The impact of distribution lines on the power distribution of inverters can be divided into two aspects. Firstly, since the distributed generators are in low voltage grids, there is resistive impedance in the distribution lines, which will cause control coupling and reduce system stability. The virtual negative resistive impedance of inverters is adopted in this paper to neutralize the resistive element of distribution lines and thus make the distribution line impedance purely inductive. Secondly, after solving the resistive impedance problem, the difference in the inductive impedance value of distribution lines due to the low density of distributed generators will cause an unequal share of reactive power. With regards to this problem, modification is put forward for the droop control strategy to share the reactive power equally. The feasibility of the design is validated by simulation and experimental results.

  • It is common to assum identical allowable safety factors in static strength, defined by mean stress and in fatigue, defined by stress amplitude. Under the load with asymmetrical cycles the safety factor is not the same. In this paper, with the consideration of unequal allowable safety factors a general method for estimating fatigue reliability of a machine element under a combined state of stress is derived based on the theory proposed by Prof. Kececioglu and normal distribution. The calculation of fatigue reliability for limited life is discussed with example.

  • A class of nonparametric estimators of the ratio of scale parameters is proposed. The estimators are based on the distribution-free rank-like test suggested by Fligner and Killeen (1976). An explicit form of the estimator is the median of the ratios of absolute deviations from the combined sample median. A small-sample Monte Carlo study shows that the proposed estimator is more efficient than the Bhattacharyya (1977) estimator. The proposed estimator is is reasonably insensitive to small failures in the assumption of equal medians. A modified estimator is also considered when the meidans are unequal.

  • Recently, the resistive Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) made with Coated Conductor (CC) has been researched with an advanced capability in CC. Current limiting elements must be connected in series in order to fabricate the resistive SFCL having large capacity. By the way, unless the applied voltage in the SFCL is distributed to the elements when the fault occurred, those elements will be critically damaged. Thus simultaneous quench of the elements is an important factor to design the resistive SFCL. In this paper, simultaneous quench characteristics of current limiting module by using BSCCO 2223 were researched before manufacturing the resistive SFCL by using CC. At the first fault stage, the elements generated the resistance at the same time. However, the unequal voltage is applied to the each element in process of time. The method is suggested to solve the problem of the unequal distribution. These experimental results will play an important part in developing for the resistive SFCL by using CC.
