2단계 침출 과정에서 발생되는 비산회로부터 초음파 활용하여 이트륨과 네오디뮴의 동시 추출 (Simultaneous Extraction of Yttrium and Neodymium from Fly Ash by Two-Step Leaching Process with Aid of Ultrasonic Wave)

  • A two-step process for increasing the leaching efficiency of yttrium and neodymium from coal fly ash were investigated at solid loadings of 5.0 g ash ~1,000 g ash/l of 1.0 N~10.0 N H2SO4, temperature ranging from 30℃ to 90℃, ultrasonic leaching time of 1~10 hours, and ultrasonic power of 25~200 W. The yttrium and neodymium from coal fly ash were effectively leached into ion phases by step change of the first conventional dissolution at room temperature and then the second heating process with the aid of ultrasonic wave, and maximum leaching efficiency of yttrium and neodymium obtained were 66 % and 63 %, respectively. The activation energies for the leaching reaction of yttrium and neodymium at second heating process dependent on leaching time and temperature were derived to be 41.540 kJmol-1 and 507.92 kJmol-1, respectively. The optimum conditions for the maximum leaching of yttrium and neodymium were found to be the solid loading of 250 g ash/l of H2SO4, solvent concentration of 2.0 N H2SO4, and second step process of temperatures of 30℃ for 3 hours and then 90℃ for 4 hours with ultrasonic intensity of 100 W.

  • The capability of environment recognition is very important for mobile robot. Especially, a function of target tracking is necessary in monitoring and watching an object using mobile robot. In general, vision sensors such as CCD camera and laser range finder were used for tracking of a moving target. However, they are not only affected by intensity of illumination in environment but also require high performance processors to process large amount of data. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the construction of target tracking system for mobile robot using only ultrasonic sensors to cope with these problems.

  • This work introduces a two-module robotic pipe inspection system with ultrasonic NDE device to evaluate the integrity of pipe structures. The proposed robotic platform has high mobility. The two module mobile robot platform overcomes pipe obstacle structures such as elbow, or T-branch joints by cooperative maneuvers. Also, it can climb up the straight pipeline at a fast speed due to the wheel driven mechanism. For inspection of pipe structure, SH-waves generated by EMAT are applied with additional signal processing methods. A wavelet transform is implemented to extract a meaningful and specific signal from the superposed SH-wave signals. Intensity ratio which is normalized the defect signals intensity by the maximum intensity of directly transmitted signals in the wavelet transforms spectrum is applied to evaluate defects quantitatively. It is experimentally verified that the robotic ultrasonic inspection system with EMAT is capable of non-destructive inspection and evaluation of defects in pipe structure successfully by applying signal processing method based on wavelet transform.

  • 소노루미네센스를 이용한 음향가시화법에 관한 연구가 많이 수행되었음에도 불구히필 그 응용사례를 찾기 힘든 것은 소노루미네센스 현상이 임계음압 이상에서만 나타난다는 단점 때문이다. 최근 개발된 고감도 디지털 카메라는 큰 메모리 용량과 높은 해상도를 이용하여 육안으로 관측하기 힘든 미약한 빛의 영상에 대해서도 그 디지털 데이터를 취득할 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 방사음압에 대한 소노루미네센스 현상의 발광 강도 변화를 조사하여 이 결과로부터 방사음압에 따른 강도변화를 선형화시키는 역함수의 형태를 구하였다 이 역함수의 형태로부터 매칭함수의 형태를 예측할 수 있었고 이를 소노루미네센스 현상으로부터 얻어진 디지털 영상데이터에 적용한 결과 영상데이터의 히스토그램의 분포를 적절히 제어하여 비교적 약한 음향강도에 의해 생성되는 소노루미네센스의 영상을 개선시킬 수 있었다.

  • The effects on dewaterability and settlability of wastewater sludge according to acid and ultrasonic pretreatment which was expected to change ECP (exocellular polymers) compounds in the sludge and bulk solution was investigated. Though ECP which attached to the sludge could stimulate coagulation of sludge particles by bridging effect, but ECP in the bulk solution deteriorated dewaterability and settlability of the sludge on the contrary. That is as the pH of the solution was decreased to 3 gradually by acid treatment, proportionally ECP in the bulk solution was attached to the sludge flocs and resulted in improvement of dewaterability and settlability of the sludge. In case of ultrasonic pretreatment, with proportional to the intensity and duration of ultrasonic application, ECP was detached and extracted from sludge flocs and these phenomena deteriorated dewaterability and settlability. Also because of the increasement of minute sludge particles according to ultrasonic, dewaterability became so much the worse.

  • 본 연구는 정상초음파 가진 유무에 따른 초음파 무화 케로신 화염의 거동변이를 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. Slit-jet 노즐을 통과하며 생성된 연소영역은 DSLR, ICCD 및 초고속카메라와 슐리렌 기법을 통해 가시화되었고, 연료소모량은 정밀저울을 통해 측정하였다. 그 결과, 정상초음파 가진시, OH 라디칼의 강도가 증가하는 것이 관찰되었고 정상파장 상단부에서 최적 연소 조건이 형성됨을 확인하였다.

기포군 영상분석을 통한 초음파 캐비테이션 현상의 변화 관찰 (Ultrasonic Cavitation Effect Observation Using Bubble Cloud Image Analysis)

  • In this study, in order to evaluate the yield of bubble by ultrasonic cavitation in HIFU sonication, the bubble image analysis was performed. The changing phenomenon of cavitation effect according to the sonication condition was discussed by analyzing the bubble image. Especially the appearance of bubble cloud, the size of micro-bubble, and the yield of bubble were considered. The 500 KHz and 1.1 MHz concave type ultrasonic transducers were used for HIFU sonication. Computer controlled digital camera was used to obtain the bubble image, and the binary image processing(binarization coefficient : 0.15) was performed to analyze them. In results of 500 KHz and 1.1 MHz transducer, the area of bubble cloud was increased in proportion to the rise in sonication intensity($R^2$ : 0.7031 and 0.811). The mean size of single microbubble was measured as 98.18 um in 500 KHz sonication, and 63.38 um in 1.1 MHz sonication. In addition, the amount of produced bubble was increased in proportion to sonication intensity. Through the result of this study and further study for variable image processing method, the quantitative evaluation of ultrasonic cavitation effects in HIFU operation could be possible with the linearity associated with the sonication conditions.

광섬유 Sagnac 간섭계를 이용한 초음파의 비접촉식 감지 (Non-contact Detection of Ultrasonic Waves Using Fiber Optic Sagnac Interferometer)

  • This paper describes a fiber optic sensor suitable for non-contact detection of ultrasonic waves. This sensor is based on a fiber optic Sagnac interferometer. Quadrature phase bias between two interfering laser beams in Sagnac loop is introduced by a polarization controller. A stable quadrature phase bias can be confirmed by observing the interferometer output versus phase bias. This method eliminates a digital signal processing for detection of ultrasonic waves using Sagnac interferometer. Interference intensity is affected by the frequency of ultrasonic waves and the time delay of Sagnac loop. Collimator is attached to the end of the probing fiber to focus the light beam onto the specimen surface and to collect the reflected light back into the fiber probe. Ultrasonic waves produced by conventional ultrasonic transducers are detected. This fiber optic sensor based on Sagnac interferometer is very effective for detection of small displacement with high frequency such as ultrasonic waves used in conventional non-destructive testing.

초음파를 이용한 침출수 처리를 위한 막분리 공정의 막힘현상 개선(I) : 초음파의 영향인자 평가 (Improvement of Fouling in Membrane Separation Process for Leachate Treatment using Ultrasound(I) : Analysis of Ultrasonic Parameters)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 매립지 침출수 처리를 위해 많이 활용되고 있는 막분리 공정에 초음파를 적용하여 투과속도와 막의 세정효율 향상에 미치는 영향인자와 효과에 대하여 살펴보았다. 즉, 중공사 형태의 MF막과 관형의 UF막을 대상으로 초음파의 주파수($40{\sim}120$ kHz), 초음파의 세기($200{\sim}500$ W), 운전압력($0.1{\sim}2.3kg/cm^2$), 초음파 조사시간 등을 변화시키며 투과속도 향상에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 1차 처리된 침출수를 이용하여 초기 50 min 동안 막을 오염시킨 다음 70 min 동안 초음파를 조사하여 조사기간과 투과속도의 변화를 관찰하였다. 순수의 투과속도에 대한 투과속도의 회복률(recovery ratio)과 세정직전의 투과속도에 대한 초음파 조사 후 투과속도의 상승률(enhancement ratio)을 이용하여 영향인자를 분석하였다. 동일한 조건에서 막의 초음파 세정에 의한 투과속도 개선 효과는 주파수에 반비례적이며. 초음파의 조사강도에 비례적으로 나타났고, 막의 운전압력이 높으면 세정효과가 지연되며 투과속도의 개선효과도 감소하였다. 또한 10,000과 100,000 MWCO의 UF막에서의 회복율과 상승률은 각각 최대 75-98%와 40-50% 이었으나, $0.1{\mu}m$ MF막에서는 각각 10%와 500%였다. 1차 처리 침출수를 이용한 실험결과로부터 초음파에 의해 발생되는 기계적 진동을 활용한 막세정이 기존의 수세정과 약품세정 대신에 활용가능성이 확인되었다.

  • A new algorithm using a measure for edge detection from ultrasonic image is proposed. Ultrasonic image is blurred by pre-processing for removing speckle noises and precise edge placement is not clear. Because extracted edge from blurred image is thick, a measure utilizing the absolute difference of mean between two windows is used to thin the thickness of extracted edge in blurred image. The algorithm is effective to process blurred image due to the noise filtering that remove speckle noises. Results of the proposed algorithm using a measure show good edge detection performance comparing with other gradient edge operators.
