This paper treats the Ultrasonic effects on the break down characteristics of Liquid Dielectric Material 1) Relative Dielectric constant, Es of Liquid Dielectric Material at a constant temperature decreases in proportion to the irradiated time of Ultrasonic radiation and its intensity, and reaches to a certain saturated value. The saturated value varies with the intensity of Ultrasonic radiation. 2) Power factor of Liquid Dielectric Material at a constant temperature increases in proportion tothe irradiated time of Ultrasonic radiation and its intensity, and reaches to a certain saturated value. The saturated value varies with the intensity of Ultrasonic radiation. 3) Relative resistance of Liquid Dielectric Material at a constant temperature decrease with the irradiated time of Ultrasonic radiation, but the effect of its intensity is very irregular. 4) Break-down strength of Liquid Dielectric Material, at a constant temperature decreases with the irradiated time of Ultrasonic radiation and its intensity, and then reaches to a saturated value.
An experimental study was carried out to investigate the effect of local ultrasonic forcing on a turbulent boundary layer. Stereoscopic particle image velocimetry (SPIV) was used to probe the characteristics of the flow. A ultrasonic forcing system was made by adhering six ultrasonic transducers to the local flat plate. Cavitation which generates uncountable minute air-bubbles having fast wall normal velocity occurs when ultrasonic was projected into water. The SPIV results showed that the wall normal mean velocity is increased in a boundary layer dramatically and the streamwise mean velocity is reduced. The skin friction coefficient ($C_{f}$) decreases $60\%$ and gradually recovers at the downstream. The ultrasonic forcing reduces wall-region streamwise turbulent intensity, however, streamwise turbulent intensity is increased away from the wall. Wall-normal turbulent intensity is almost the same near the wall but it increases away from the wall, In tile vicinity of the wall, Reynold shear stress, sweep strength and production of turbulent kinetic energy were decreased. This suggests that the streamwise vortical structures are lifted by ultrasonic forcing and then skin friction is reduced.

In this study, comparison the removal efficiencies of organics, nitrogens and phosphorus from sewage using Ultrasonic apparatus were investigated. The concentration of SCODcr were respectively 16.3, 24.4, 48.8, 105.7, 260.3 mg/$\ell$ with time 0, 10, 30, 60, 120min respectively in 200W ultrasonic intensity. The concentration of SCODcr were respectively 124.4, 48.8, 73.2, 203.4, 374.2 mg/$\ell$ with time 0, 10, 30, 60, 120min respectively in 300W ultrasonic intensity. The concentration of SCODcr were respectively 24.4, 40.7, 81.4, 170.9, 439.3 mg/$\ell$ with time 0, 10, 30, 60, 120min respectively in 400W ultrasonic intensity.
A study on the ultrasonic effect for turbulence enhancement is carried out in the horizontal flow field of a coaxial circular pipe. A large transparent acryl tank is made to perform several experiments for the above research. The front flow field from jet exit is divided as 4 measuring regions to observe characteristics of the above flow field according to those with and without ultrasonic. An ultrasonic transducer with 2MHz high frequency is used to give them the ultrasonic forcing. Characteristics such as the velocity distribution, the kinetic energy and the turbulence intensity are visualized, observed, examined and considered at Re No. 2000. In results, it is clarified that the ultrasonic increases the turbulence enhancement. And the optimum and harmonious intensity suited to the power of flow is needed to maximize the turbulence enhancement.
The objectives in the present study are to investigate that the enhancement heat transfer was experimentally measured and was compared with the acoustic pressure obtained by numerical analysis. From the results of the present study, a strong Fluid motion initiated by ultrasonic vibrations can affect heat and mass transfer. This phenomenon. called acoustic streaming, clearly observed by PIV measurement leads to increase in velocity of a Fluid which is a crucial physical concept to explain the enhancement heat transfer. The heat transfer coefficient is increased with increase in the ultrasonic intensities. The largest enhancement heat transfer (about 26%) is measured at the ultrasonic intensity of 300W. Acoustic streaming results from sudden acoustic pressure variations in the liquid. The results of numerical analysis reveal that acoustic pressure is increased by 59.5% at the ultrasonic intensity of 300W. The higher acoustic pressure near four ultrasonic transducers develops more intensive flow destroying the flow instability. Also, the profiles of acoustic pressure variation are consistent with those of enhancement heat transfer.
The intensity of ultrasound in liquid is calculated by improved analytic method. Helmholtz equation or Rayleigh's proposition does not offer the analytic solution. Considering a bounded medium, the use of the image source method in electromagnetic thoery gives a new way of calculating the total ultrasonic intensity in liquid. Some methods of measuring the intensities are also mentioned.

Commerical purity aluminium , copper and STS 304 stainless steel sheets are welded by ultrasonic welding. The microstructures, x-ray diffraction profiles of planes , pole figures of the surface of original metal sheets are compared with those of the weld interface. The microstructures show disturbance and dark areas in the weld interface and grain refinement in the vicinity of the interface. The x-ray diffraction intensity of each plane in weld interface decreased in all metal sheets with exception of 9200) in steel sheet. The microstructure and x-ray diffraction intensity is affected by the mixture of deformation, heating and vibratin duringthe ultrasonic welding. Therefore, after the ultrasonic welding, the positions of the peak intensity in the pole figures are changed, the value of the maximum pole intensity is decreased in Al, is increased in copper and stainless steel. Very strong {100} <001> texture, strong {100} <001>,{123}<634> textures in original Al surface are transformed into weak, {100}<001>, {110}<112> and {112}<111> components in weld surface, weak (110) fiber is slightly changed to (110) fiber in copper, (100)and ${\gamma}$ fiber components are transformed into strong ${\gamma}$ fiber component in stainless steel.

This study was on the pollution emissions of the Ultrasonic fuel feeding system in gasoline injection vehicle. This work measured th SMD of the fuel, and compared the characteristics through chassis dynamometer and highway road test by the conventional vehicle. And this work measured vacuum degree, turbulence intensity and the rate of fuel consumption according to intake air velocity with swirler. The results are as followed; The effects of the vehicle installed the ultrasonic fuel feeding system are better than those of the conventional vehicle.

Ultrasonic applications for the enhancement of turbulence flow by using the PIV measurement were carried out according to the angle of the ultrasonic oscillator, materials of the reflector and each section when ultrasonic is reflected several times. Angles of the ultrasonic oscillator such as $30^{\circ},\;45^{\circ},\;60^{\circ},\;90^{\circ},\;120^{\circ},\;135^{\circ}$ and $150^{\circ}$ were selected, and turbulent intensities were compared at Reynolds No. 2,000 and 4,000. Materials of the reflector such as wood, acryl, iron and glass were selected, and time mean velocity vector and turbulent intensity were compared at Reynolds No. 4,000. The zone which was observed was selected from first section to fourth section when ultrasonic was reflected several times. Every data such as time mean velocity vector and time mean turbulent intensity which was obtained by PIV measurement was examined, compared and discussed at Reynolds No. 2,000 and 4,000 to know the degree of turbulence enhancement in each case.
