  • In the a rapid changes of the semiconductor manufacturing technologies for early 21st century, it may be safely said that a kernel of terms is the size increase of Si wafer and the size decrease of semiconductor devices. As the size of Si wafers increases and semiconductor device is miniaturized, the units of cleaning processes increases. A present cleaning technology is based upon RCA cleaning which consumes vast chemicals and ultra pure water (UPW) and is the high temperature process. Therefore, this technology gives rise to the environmental issue. To resolve this matter, candidates of advanced cleaning processes has been studied. One of them is to apply the electrolyzed water. In this work, Compared with surface on Si wafer with electrolyzed water cleaning and various chemicals cleaning, and analyzed Si wafer surface condition treated with elecoolyzed water by cleaning temperature and cleaning time. Especially. concentrate upon the contact angle. finally, contact angle on surface treated with cathode water cleaning is 17.28, and anode water cleaning is 34.1.

  • We synthesized dendrimers containing light switchable units, azobenzene group. And the dendrimer containing 48 pyridinepropanol functional end group, which could form a complex structure with metal ions was synthesized. To apply to the molecular level devices or data storage system using Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) film, we firstly investigated the monolayer behavior using the surface pressure-area($\pi$-A) isotherms at air-water interface. And then the surface pressure shift of monolayer by light irradiation was also measured to the dendrimer with azobezene group. As a result, the monolayer of dendrimer with azobenzene group showed the reversible photo-switching behavior by the isomerization of azobenzene group in their periphery. The samples for electrical measurement were fabricated to two types which were pure dendrimer with pyridinepropanol group and its complexes with $Pt^4+$ ions by LB method. We have studied the electrical properties of the ultra thin dendrimer LB films investigated by the current-voltage(I-V) characteristics of Metal/Dendrimer LB films/Metal(MIM) structure. And we have investigated different results in the surface activity at the air-water interface as well as the electrical properties for the monolayers of pure dendrimer with pyridinevopanol group and its complex with $Pt^4+$ ions. In conclusion, it is demonstrated that the metal ion around dendrimer with pyri야nepropanol group can contribute to make formation of network structure among dendrimers and it result from the change of electrical properties. This results suggest that the dendrimers with azobenzene group and pvridinedropanol group can be applied to high efficient nano-device of molecular level.

  • Switching an elementary excitation by injecting a single carrier would offer the exciting opportunity for the ultra-high data storage technologies. However, there has been no methodology available to investigate the interaction of low energy discrete carriers with nano-structures. In order to map out the spatial dependency of such single carrier level interactions, we developed a pulse-and-probe algorithm, combining with low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy. The new tool, which we call single carrier spectroscopy, allows us to track the interaction with the target macrostructure with tunneling carriers on a single carrier basis. Using this tool, we demonstrate that it is possible not only to locally write and erase individual bi-solitons, reliably and reversibly, but also to track of creation yields of single and multiple bi-solitons. Bi-solitons are pairs of solitons that are elementary out-of-phase excitations on anti-ferromagnetically ordered pseudo-spin system of Si dimers on Si(001)-c(42) surfaces. We found that at low energy tunneling the single bisoliton creation mechanism is not correlated with the number of carriers tunneling, but with the production of a potential hole under the tip. An electric field at the surface determines the density of the local charge density under the tip, and band-bending. However a rapid, dynamic change of a field produces a potential hole that can be filled by energetic carriers, and the amount of energy released during filling process is responsible for the creation of bi-solitons. Our model based on the field-induced local hole gives excellent explanation for bi-soliton yield behaviors. Scanning tunneling spectroscopy data supports the existence of such a potential hole. The mechanism also explains the site-dependency of bi-soliton yields, which is highest at the trough, not on the dimer rows. Our study demonstrates that we can manipulate not just single atoms and molecules, but also single pseudo-spin excitations as well.

  • The electrical characterization of Au islands on TiO2 at nanometer scale (as a Schottky nanodiode) has been studied with conductive atomic force microscopy in ultra-high vacuum. The diverse sizes of the Au islands were formed by using self-assembled patterns on n-type TiO2 semiconductor film using the Langmuir-Blodgett process. Local conductance images showing the current flowing through the TiN coated AFM probe to the surface of the Au islands on TiO2 was simultaneously obtained with topography, while a positive sample bias is applied. The boundary of the Au islands revealed a higher current flow than that of the inner Au islands in current AFM images, with the forward bias presumably due to the surface plasmon resonance. The nanoscale Schottky barrier height of the Au/TiO2 Schottky nanodiode was obtained by fitting the I-V curve to the thermionic emission equation. The local resistance of the Au/TiO2 nanodiode appeared to be higher at the larger Au islands than at the smaller islands. The results suggest that conductive atomic force microscopy can be used to reveal the I-V characterization of metal size dependence and the electrical effects of surface plasmon on a metal-semiconductor Schottky diode at nanometer scale.

  • We investigated the correlation between electrical transport and mechanical stress in $Bi_2Te_2Se$ by using a conductive probe atomic force microscopy in an ultra-high vacuum environment. Uniform distribution of measured friction and current were observed over a single quintuple layer terrace, which is an indication of the uniform chemical composition of the surface. By measuring the charge transport of $Bi_2Te_2Se$ surface as a function of the load applied by a tip to the sample, we found that the current density varies with applied load. The variation of current density was explained in light of the combined effect of the changes in the in-plane conductance and spin-orbit coupling that were theoretically predicted. We suppose that the local density of states is modified by tip-induced strain, but topological phase still remains. We exposed a clean topological insulator surface by tip-induced indentation. The surface conductance on the indented $Bi_2Te_2Se$ surface was studied, and the role of surface oxide on the surface conductance is discussed.

  • A mutant strain having increased productivity of both enzymes, protease and amylase, was obtained from A. flavus KU 153, isolatd from South Korea for its high protease production by successive ultra-violet light irradiation, Two glucoamylases from the mutant strain selected were purified from wheat branculture by successive salting out, followed by dialysis and column chromatography, and their characteristics were compared with those of the wild strain. Glucoamylase production of the mutant selected was increased about 3.3 times compared with the wild strain, and 2.1 times compared with the parental strain, ${\alpha}-amylase$ activity of the mutant selected was about 2 times hugher than that of the wild strain or the parental strain. Protease and cellulase productivities of the muant selected were all alike compared with those of the highly proteolytic mutant, the parental strain. Therefore, it was considered that the back mutation on the protease production did not occurred in the formation process of the glucoamylase producing mutant. Total activities of glucoamylase I and II from the mutant selected were 2.86 and 3.65 times higher compared with those from the wild strain, respectively. Considering the optimal pH-thermal stability and Km-Vmax value of glucoamylase I and II from both strains, wild and mutant, it was deduced that the characteristics of glucoamylase I and II from the wild strain did not altered during the mutation process. Therefore, it was concluded that the selected mutant did not induce the formation of another glucoamylase isozyme, or the changes in the characteristics of the glucoamylase, but induce the productivity of the same glucoamylase I and II by the action of regulatory gene.

  • In this study, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) were treated with nickel by electroless plating method for improving electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance of MWCNT. The physical properties of electroless plated MWCNT were analyzed by using ultra-high resolution scanning electron microscope (UHR-SEM), thermogravimetry (TGA), sheet resistance analyzer and EMI shielding analyzer. EMI shielding efficiencies of nickel electroless plated MWCNT were measured to be 16 dB from 800 MHz band, which was 1.6 times increased compared to that of the activated MWCNT. Also, the average sheet resistance of nickel electroless plated MWCNT was measured to be $70{\Omega}/sq$, which was 56% decreased compared to that of the activated MWCNT. This result could be attributed to the plating morphology on the surface of MWCNT. This result could be attributed to uniformity of plating morphology on the surface, which has more effect on EMI shielding efficiency than the amount of nickel plating.

  • One of the cardinal findings of the renal diseases is proteinuria, which appears in the early phase of kidney diseases and is very important in diagnosis, prognosis and decision making in the treatment process and results of the treatment. The study subjects were 126 patients who visited the nephrology department of Kangbuk Samsung Hospital. Serum was requested for urine protein electrophoresis. Total protein was measured with Bayer Advia 1650 (Biuret). Quantitation of each fraction was done by multiplying the percentage of each fraction by the total protein. Serum creatinine and BUN were also measured with Bayer Advia 1650 (Jaffe and Urease). Serum protein EP was done with REP(rapid electrophoresis) using Helena Kit reagents (REP Ultra SPE Kit, Ponceau S stain, Acetic acid, Methanol, EP Control). Concentrated urine was used for urine protein EP. The SPSS package was used for statistics analysis. Percentage and quantitation of the level of albumin in renal diseases were significantly lower than those in healthy controls. Total protein was correlated with albumin. In terms of proportion, ${\alpha}1$-globulin, ${\alpha}2$-globulin, ${\beta}$-globulin, and ${\gamma}$-globulin fractions were increased in the disease group. But, in the quantified level, ${\alpha}2$-globulin was increased and ${\beta}$-globulin and ${\gamma}$-globulin were decreased. ESRD patients showed an increased secretion of high molecular proteins in urine protein EP. A decreased level in serum total protein correlated with the decreased level of serum albumin and the total amount of urine total protein. This study revealed the variety in the level of serum and urine proteins and their subgroups by EP.

  • Wireless communication system for firefighters has an important role as the last communication method between the commander and the firefighters in disaster sites like fire. But the operation of Gyeongnam wireless communication system is installed, and maintained and controlled without criteria for the selection of a transmitting station and the analysis of propagation environment because of the lack of budget and the absence of professional personnel. To improve the performance of the radio station, this paper theoretically calculated free space loss of UHF 400 MHz band used by all firefighters in Gyeongnam and diffractions caused by single and multiple obstacles and computed the error after comparing the results of the actual measurement to those of simulation with FRAS operated by KFL. In the results, Deygout model was the most consistent with the actual measurement for 400MHz band in Kimhae site.
