초단펄스 응용 전해증착에 의한 마이크로 구조물 제작 (Microfabrication by Localized Electrochemical Deposition Using Ultra Short Pulses)

  • In this research, microfabrication technique using localized electrochemical deposition (LECD) with ultra short pulses is presented. Electric field is localized near the tool tip end region by applying a few hundreds of nano second pulses. Pt-Ir tip is used as a counter electrode and copper is deposited on the copper substrate in 0.5 M CuSO$_4$ and 0.5 M H$_2$SO$_4$ electrolyte. The effectiveness of this technique is verified by comparison with LECD using DC voltage. The deposition characteristics such as size, shape, surface, and structural density according to applied voltage and pulse duration are investigated. The proper condition is selected from the results of the experiments. Micro columns less than 10 $\mu$m in diameter are fabricated using this technique. The real 3D micro structures such as micro pattern and micro spring can be fabricated by this method. It is suggested that presented method can be used as an easy and inexpensive method for fabrication of microstructure with complex shape.

  • IR (impulse radio)를 사용하는 IR-UWB 방식은 짧은 펄스를 전송하기 때문에 송수신기를 간단히 구현할 수 있고, 저 전력으로 구현 가능하며, 다중 경로 지연과 같은 외부 환경에 강한 특성을 가진다. 더불어, 짧은 펄스를 사용하므로 데이터 수신시 채널의 특징을 파악하기 위해 정확한 채널 추정 방법이 요구 된다. 채널 추정한 후 추정된 채널 이득과 지연 값은 레이크 수신기의 경로 선택에 이용되고, 데이터 수신시 파라메타를 정확히 찾는 정도에 따라서 성능이 좌우된다. 본 문서에서는 수신된 프리엠블 등의 신호를 이용하여 채널의 특성을 파악하여 관련 파라메터를 추출하는 채널 추정 알고리즘 및 다양한 관련 기술에 대하여 소개한다.

텅스텐 와이어 초단 펄스 미세 전해가공 (Tungsten Wire Micro Electrochemical Machining with Ultra Short Pulses)

  • Tungsten wire micro electrochemical machining (W-wire micro ECM) with ultra-short pulses enables precise micro machining of metal. In wire micro ECM, platinum wire has been used because it is electrochemically stable. However, the micro metal wire with low strength is easily deformed by hydrogen bubbles which are generated during the machining. The wire deformation decreases the machining accuracy. To reduce the influence of hydrogen bubbles, in this paper, the use of tungsten wire was investigated. To improve machining accuracy, suitable pulse conditions which affect generation of bubbles were also investigated. The tungsten wire micro ECM can be applied to the fabrication of various shapes. Using this method, various micro-parts and shapes were fabricated.

극초단 펄스 Cr4+:YAG 레이저의 제작 및 동작 특성 (Construction and operational characteristics of a Ultra-Short pulse Cr4+:YAG laser)

  • 1.064 $\mu\textrm{m}$ 파장의 연속발진 Nd:YAG 레이저를 펌핑 광원으로 하여 적외선 영역에서 광대역으로 파장 가변되는 연속발진 및 극초단펄스 C $r^{4+}$ :YAG 레이저를 자체 제작하였다. C $r^{4+}$ :YAG 레이저의 연속발진 및 펄스의 출력특성과 파장 가변 영역은 다음과 같다. 연속발진일 경우 1.436 $\mu\textrm{m}$에서 600 mW의 평균출력을 보였으나, 복굴절 필터를 삽입했을 경우는 1.492 $\mu\textrm{m}$근처에서 400 mW의 평균출력을 보였다. 펄스발진일 경우 1.436 $\mu\textrm{m}$에서 최초로 평균출력 320 mW의 모드록킹된 펄스가 발생하였지만 물 흡수대의 영향으로 불안정함을 피할 수 없었다. 따라서, 복굴절 필터를 사용하여 중심파장을 1.492 $\mu\textrm{m}$로 이동시켰으며 이 영역에서 안정한 상태의 모드록킹된 43 fs의 극초단 펄스를 생성하였다. 이 때의 평균출력은 280 mW이고, 반치폭(FWHM)은 45 nm이었다.

  • 초광대역(Ultra-WideBand) 시스템은 1nsec 이하의 매우 짧은 펄스폭을 갖는 가우시안 모노펄스를 이용하여 전송한다. 따라서, 전송 신호는 매우 낮은 전력의 수 GHz에 이르는 초광대역 스펙트럼을 갖게 되며, 기존의 통신 시스템에 거의 간섭을 미치지 않는 것으로 알려져 있다. 반송파를 사용하지 않는 초광대역 시스템에서 다중 경로 전파의 충돌은 일반적인 무선 통신시스템과는 매우 다르다. 이 논문은 다중 경로 채널하에서 BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM 변복조 기술들을 적용한 초광대역 시스템을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 BER(Bit Error Rate) 성능을 비교 분석하고자 한다.

  • In this work, back bias effects in the program of the silicon-oxide-nitride-oxide-silicon (SONOS) cell using two-step pulse sequence, are investigated. Two-step pulse sequence is composed of the forward biases for collecting the electrons at the substrate terminal and back bias for injecting the hot electrons into the nitride layer. With an aid of the back bias for electron injection, we obtain a program time as short as 600 ns and an ultra low-voltage operation with a substrate voltage of -3 V.

  • Technological feasibility of using recently-available femtosecond ultra short pulse lasers for advanced precision length metrology is investigated with emphasis on absolute distance measurements with $10{\mu}m$ ??resolution over extensive ranges. The idea of using femtosecond lasers for the measurement of absolute distances is based on the fact that a short pulse train is a mode-locked combination of discrete monochromatic light components spanning a wide spectral bandwidth. The synthetic wavelength is created from the repetition frequency, $f_r$ of the femtosecond laser and for more precise resolution, higher-order harmonics of the repetition frequency may be selected as the synthetic wavelength by using appropriate electronic filters.

  • Pulse electrochemical machining process with high or low current density may produce a non-lustrous surface on workpiece surface. The usual polishing process to remove a black layer from the surface has been hand polish the part. But the milli-to-micro meter scale structure formed by the electrochemical machining process may be destroyed while polishing process. The application of ultra short voltage pulses based on the analysis of electrical double layer charging process allows high resolution electrochemical machining and polishing. This technique was based on the specific polarization resistance from the comparison of ideal and experimental potential variation during short voltage pulses.

단거리 차량용 초광대역 레이더 송신기의 스펙트럼 분석 (Spectrum Analysis of UWB Radar Transmitter for Short Range Automobile Applications)

  • In this paper, we propose structures and power spectral densities of UWB radar transmitters of Short Range Automobile. While the conventional transmitters did not consider interferences from self and other automobiles, the proposed method of this paper can minimize interferences. First, we compare a structure of the proposed method with pulse train and pulse compression method. Then, by using mathematical analysis and computer simulations, we show that the proposed method is superior to others. Also we can set proper parameters in UWB radar's transmitter through the numerical method of mathematical results.
