공기중 Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons 의 측정법에 관한 연구 (Sampling and Analysis of Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Working Environment)

  • 공기 중에는 benzo(a)pyrene을 위시한 여러 가지 polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons(PNAs)가 존재하고 있으며, 그 측정방법이 매우 복잡하여 아직 통일된 적절한 방법이 없다. 본 연구는 공기 중의 PNAs를 측정하기 위한 적절한 방법을 개발하기 위하여 여러 가지 실험을 실시하였고 또 실제로 근로자들을 대상으로 공기를 채취하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 공기 중 PNAs의 채취방법으로는 Teflon filter와 Polyurethane foam 또는 XAD-2를 연결하여 사용하는 것이 가장 좋은 효과를 보였다. (2) 검체에서 PNAs를 추출하는 방법으로는 methylene chloride를 이용한 초음속진동법 (ultra sonication)이 효과적이었다. benzene과 cyclohexane은 추출효과가 methylene chloride보다 적었으며, 초음속진동시간은 15분이 가장 적절하였다. (3) 분석법으로는 high pressure liquid chromatograph(HPLC)가 적절하였다.

Epoxylite Influence on Field Electron Emission Properties of Tungsten and Carbon Fiber Tips

  • This investigation deals with the process of field electron emission from composite microemitters. Tested emitters consisted of a tungsten or carbon-fiber core, coated with a dielectric material. Two coating materials were used: (1) Clark Electromedical Instruments Epoxylite resin and (2) Epidian 6 Epoxy resin (based on bisphenol A). Various properties of these emitters were measured, including the current-voltage characteristics, which are presented as Fowler-Nordheim plots, and the corresponding electron emission images. A field electron microscope with a tip (cathode) to screen (anode) distance of 10 mm was used to electrically characterize the emitters. Measurements were carried out under ultra-high vacuum conditions with a base pressure of $10^{-6}$ Pascal ($10^{-8}$ mbar).

  • The Ce-Cr(-Ta) film are one of the most suitable candidates for perpendicular magnetic media. the control of the preparation conditions, such as Ar gas pressure P$\_$Ar/ substrates temperature T$\_$s/, films thickness $\delta$, deposition speed R$\_$d/, is considered to be important to attain ultra high density recording far perpendicular magnetic recording media. In this study, the Co-Cr thin films and Co-Cr-Ta thin films were deposited on the glass side substrates by using Facing Targets Sputtering apparatus(FTS). Crystallographic characteristics and magnetic characteristics were evaluated by X-ray diffractometry(XRD), Vibrating Sample Magnetometer(VSM) respectively.

  • Recently, the nanowire configuration of GST showed nanosecond-level phase switch at very low power dissipation, suggesting that the nanowires could be ideal for data storage devices. In spite of many advantages of IST materials, their feasibility in both thin films and nanowires for electronic memories has not been extensively investigated. The synthesis of the chalcogenide nanowires was mainly preformed via a vapor transport process such as vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth at a high temperature. However, in this study, IST nanowires as well as thin films were prepared at a low temperature (${\sim}250^{\circ}C$) by metal organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD) method, which is possible for large area deposition. The IST films and/or nanowires were selectively grown by a control of working pressure at a constant growth temperature by MOCVD. In-Sb-Te NWs will be good candidate materials for high density PRAM applications. And MOCVD system is powerful for applying ultra scale integration cell.

연마필름을 이용한 효율적인 수퍼피니싱 조건의 결정에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Determination of Efficient Superfinishing Conditions Using Polishing Film)

  • Recently, many studies are being conducted to realize high quality polishing technology, but because of high dependence on field experience and insufficient research for ultra-precision polishing technology, it is difficult to establish standardization of polishing conditions. The purpose of this study is to determine high-efficiency superfinishing conditions which are applicable in the field of machining. To achieve this, we have a developed a superfinishing device and conducted a series of polishing experiments for mechanical materials such as SM45C, Brass, Al7075, and Ti, from the perspective of oscillation speed, the rotational speed of the workpiece, contact roller hardness, contact pressure, and feed rate. From the experimental results, it was confirmed that the polishable superfinishing conditions range and efficient feed rate of polishing film can be determined.

Micro and Nano Engineered High Volume Ultrafine Fly Ash Cement Composite with and without Additives

  • This paper presents the effect of silica fume and nano silica, used individually and in combination with the set accelerator and/or hydrated lime, on the properties of class F high volume ultra fine fly ash (HV-UFFA) cement composites, replacing 80 % of cement (OPC). Compressive strength test along with thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were undertaken to study the effect of various elements on the physico-chemical behaviour of the blended composites. The results show that silica fume when used in combination with the set accelerator and hydrated lime in HV-UFFA cement mortar, improves its 7 and 28 day strength by 273 and 413 %, respectively, compared to the binary blended cement fly ash mortar. On the contrary, when nano silica is used in combination with set accelerator and hydrated lime in HV-UFFA cement mortar, the disjoining pressure in conjunction with the self-desiccation effect induces high early age micro cracking, resulting in hindering the development of compressive strength. However, when nano silica is used without the additives, it improves the 7 and 28 day strengths of HV-UFFA cement mortar by 918 and 567 %, respectively and the compressive strengths are comparable to that of OPC.

50KW 터보제너레이터용 가스터빈 엔진의 설계점/ 탈설계/과도성능해석 (On/Off-Design/Transient Analysis of a 50KW Turbogenerator Gas Turbine Engine)

  • Present paper describes on/off design performance of a 50KW turbogenerator gas turbine engine for hybrid vehicle application. For optimum design point selection, relevant parameter study is carried out. The turbogenerator gas turbine engine for a hybrid vehicle is expected to be designed for maximum fuel economy, ultra low emissions, and very low cost. Compressor, combustor, turbine, and permanent-magnet generator will be mounted on a single high speed (82,000 rpm) shaft that will be supported on air bearings. As the generator is built into the shaft, gearbox and other moving parts become unnecessary and thus will increase the system's reliability and reduce the manufacturing cost. The engine has a radial compressor and turbine with design point pressure ratio of 4.0. This pressure ratio was set based on calculation of specific fuel consumption and specific power variation with pressure ratio. For the given turbine inlet temperature, a rather conservative value of $1100^\circK$ was selected. Designed mass flow rate was 0.5 kg/sec. Parametric study of the cycle indicates that specific work and efficiency increase at a given pressure ratio and turbine inlet temperature. Off design analysis shows that the gas turbine system reaches self operating condition at N/$N_{DP}$ = 0.53. Bleeding air for turbine stator cooling is omitted considering low TIT and for a simple geometric structure. Various engine performance simulations including, ambient temperature influence, surging at part load condition. Transient analysis were performed to secure the optimum engine operating characteristics. Surge margin throughout the performance analysis were maintained to be over 80% approximately. Validation of present results are yet to be seen as the performance tests are scheduled by the end of 1998 for comparison.
