Six novel aryl alkanoic acid derivatives as potential nonsteroidal antiinflammatory and analgesic compounds, were prepared through consecutive reactions of Ullman ether synthesis, $NaBH_4$ reduction ; bromination ; $SN_2$ reaction with nitrile and alkaline hydrolysis of the nitrile.
