After stroke, there are many cases of gastro-intestinal bleeding in patients with dysphagia who are fed by Levin tubes. Ulcers in the stomach and duodenum are occasionally produced by psychiatric stress, irritation with the Levin tube and central nerve rusturbances. Because Dansambohyul-tang has been used to treat deficiency of blood, alleviate pain, tranquilize and to treat patients differentiated with an insufficiency of the heart and the spleen in oriental medicine, we treated a 62 year-old male patient who suffered from gastric ulcers with gastro-intestinal bleeding after stroke, and who was differentiated with an insufficiency of the heart and the spleen with Dansambohyul-tang, herb complex. After 20 days of treatment with Dansambohyul-tang, we observed improvement in the gastric ulcer through gastroscopy; serum hemoglobin increased by 5.1g/dl after 2 months; and symptoms (pale complexion.dysphagia.general weekness) were alleviated. So Dansambohyul-tang shows therapeutic effects on gastric ulcers with gastro-intestinal bleeding after stroke.

Amputation of diabetic foot ulcer and infection is a critical modality for saving a patient's life from life threatening infections or ischemic limbs. However, it can cause serious handicaps or complications, such as lifetime shortening and re-amputation of the other limb. The minimal amputation is the main goal of amputation in diabetic patients. However, insufficient amputation can have a harmful effect on patients. The decision of amputation is very difficult and should be made using multidisciplinary approaches. All aspects of the patient's situation, including vascular status, degree of infection, and medical conditions should be considered. The foot surgeon should keep in mind the notion that proper amputation can lead to a new life for diabetic foot patients.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of using korean medical treatment on ulcer occurred in Anus and Vulva. Methods : We treated the patient with Taglisodog-eum(托裏消毒飮), acupuncture, and korean medical treatment using herb such as ointment and fumigation therapy. VAS score, Photographs were used to evaluate the effects of treatment. Results : After the total treatments, VAS score decreased from 7 to 1. In this case, we treated ulcer and checked regeneration of new tissue. Conclusions : The result suggests that Korean medical treatment including Taglisodog-eum(托裏消毒飮) can be effective in treatingulcer.

Purpose: This paper is aim to report the effects of Gamchosasim-tang(GCT) on the genital ulcer suggested Behcet's disease. Methods: The patient in this case was 45-year-old. The chief complains were genital ulcers, mouth ulcers, fatigue, skin lesions (hand site), eye discomfort. She was treated by GCT. The progress of symptoms were evaluated by visual analogue sclae. Results: After the treatments, genital ulcer pain and mouth ulcer pain disappeared, fatigue, skin lesions, eye discomfort decreased. Conclusion: This clinical case indicate that GCT is effective in treatment of the genital ulcers. And GCT is considered that good effect is to Behcet's disease.

Because of advancement of medical treatment, surgical management of gastric or duodenal ulcer was indicated for treatment of perforation, massive hemorrhage and obstruction. The distal gastrectomy including ulcer was known as principle method of duodenal ulcer obstruction, but actually many surgeons have performed only bypass surgery for the difficulty of formation of duodenal stump. In our case, 61-year-old male with repetitive duodenal ulcer obstruction transferred with obstruction due to deformities and inflammations of duodenal ulcer. We had performed totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy with ROUX-EN-Y reconstruction using the clear visibility of laparoscopy and fine dissections of harmonic scalpel. The patient started soft diet on postoperative day 5 and discharged on postoperative day 8. He returned to work after discharging immediately.

Peptic ulcer bleeding is a common complication of peptic ulcer disease and the most common cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Despite advances in drug usage and endoscopic modalities, no significant improvement is observed in the mortality rate of bleeding ulcers. The purpose of this review is to discuss various endoscopic hemostatic methods to treat peptic ulcer bleeding. Endoscopic hemostatic techniques can be classified into injection, mechanical, electrocoagulation, hemostatic powder, and endoscopic Doppler-guided hemostatic therapies (the last mentioned being a newly developed technique). Endoscopic hemostasis can be performed as mono or combination therapy using the aforementioned methods. Endoscopic hemostasis is the most important treatment for patients with peptic ulcer bleeding. Endoscopists should consider the treatment approach for peptic ulcer bleeding based on patient characteristics, the size and shape of the lesion, the endoscopist's expertise, and the resources and circumstances at each hospital. Follow-up studies are needed to evaluate the efficacy of newly developed hemostatic powder therapy and endoscopic Doppler-guided hemostasis.

Objective: The purpose of this case study is to show a case of ulcer due to buerger's disease improved by conservative acupuncture therapy. Methods : The patient was treated from 29 December, 2003 to 12 April, 2004. The patient received TDP, Infra-Red and Acupuncture therapy. Results: We evaluated through visual analog scale(VAS) and picture of patient's hand. Conclusion: We suggest to treat ulcer resulting from buerger's disease with Acupuncture therapy as a conservative therapy and would like to research acupuncture treatment plan for the further treatment.

Purpose: This study describes a case report of wound care performed by a community health practitioner for a rural older adult with diabetic ulcers. Methods: Data were collected from a rural older adult who had a diabetic lower extremity ulcer, and wound dressing was applied over 20 weeks after the skin graft operation. Results: The patient visited a primary healthcare post for regular ulcer care, and a community health practitioner applied appropriate wound dressings and managed the patient's diabetic condition. Conclusion: In rural areas, where healthcare resources are scarce compared with urban areas, rural nurses, such as community health practitioners, are primarily required to manage rural residents' health problems. Advanced nursing practices such as complicated wound care should also be appropriately provided to patients by enhancing rural nurses' competencies in the changing health care environment.

Studies on diagnosis and treatment of tumor . abscess . ulcer in intestinal carbuncle were carried out. The result of studies were summerized as follows: 1. By Nai-Gyung carbuncle-tumor arose from disharmony between nutrient and defensive because of cold, abscess arose from fever victory between cold and fever, ulcer arose from decreasing function of Bi-Kam year. By latter literature Bi-Kam year could be interpreted that spleen stomach was invaded evil influence from unattainable vital force of the earth. 2. Sites of intestinal carbuncle were large intestine, small intestine, intestinal inside or outside between large and small intestine, Intestinal carbuncle was common name of a disease about large intestinal carbuncle, small intestinal carbuncle, pelvic intestinal carbuncle, shrink leg intestinal carbuncle etc.. Pain appeared Chunchu-Hyul in large intestinal carbuncle, and Gwanweon-Hyul in small intestinal carbuncle. 3. On abdominal diagnosis tumor had indistinct pain of Gwanweon Chunchu, edema and heary feeling in low abdomen, no excessive pain by hand press and intestinal boiling sound. In abscess pain descended from right side of low abdomen to huckle, and there was rejection against press, feeling about fever,water sound with flank movement. In ulcer hand approach was difficult since excessive pain diffuse to whole abdomen, and perforating ulcer sometimes caused a serious symptom of umbilical pus. 4. On fecal and urinary diagnosis in tumor urine was yellowish red pollakiuria like gonorrhoea and occasional constipation. In abscess uncomfortable rough pain short red early urine like gonorrhoea appeared during urination, and constipation with stinging pain appeared during defecation. In ulcer red rough pyuria appeared, and stinging and pain with puruloid blood appeared during defecation. 5. On treatment in tumor Daiwhang-Tang Daisenggi-Tang Dangui-Jun by dissipation method, calming down method, interior reliance maturation method, in abscess Mokdan-San Euiiin-Tang Jeokduiin-Tang by the method of water repelling pus discharge, acute breaking, in ulcer Takridanggui-Tang Paljin-Tang Bojungikki-Tang were each used by the method of interior reliance, virulence astriction, supplement vital force and blood, supplement spleen stomach. 6. On treatment patient may have to be careful of excessive moving and suprising anxiety. Abuse of acupuncture and moxibustion made patient worse, misuse of analgesics purgative intestinal irrigation etc. could provoke difficult diagnosis and perforation. So you must treat after exact diagnosis. 7. Prognosis of ease tumor ease abscess ease ulcer and ease astriction was good. If the intestinal carbuncle were not to promote to abscess and ulcer for a long time, its prognosis was bad and it could metastasize to cancer because of dark purple with hardness. So tumor abscess ulcer in intestinal carbuncle may be significant of precancerous lesion.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the illness experience of patients with pressure ulcer. Methods: A phenomenological methodology was used for the study. The data were collected by individual in-depth interview with seven participants with pressure ulcer during 2013~2014. All interviews were audio-taped and verbatim transcripts were made for the analysis. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: All participants had underlying disease, such as spinal paralysis and diabetes. Average period of having pressure ulcer was 18 months, ranged from 3 to 36 months. A total of seven theme clusters were derived from the analysis; unexpected wound, inherent vulnerability to infection, reversal of the treatment policy, unpleasant and strange feeling of wound, sweeping fear and helplessness, socioeconomic burden, and healing through specific actions and reflection. The participants faced various contradictory and paradoxical situations in managing their pressure ulcers as well as underlying diseases in their everyday life. However, they slowly overcome these situations by strictly practicing concrete action-oriented strategies that they have learned through suffering and appreciating miraculous wound healing. Conclusion: The results of this study can help developing a patient-specific intervention program with sufficient emotional support by providing insights of the paradoxical illness experience of patients with pressure ulcer.
