보다 정확한 동적 상황인식 추천을 위해 정확 및 오류 패턴을 활용하여 순차적 매칭 성능이 개선된 상황 예측 방법 (Context Prediction Using Right and Wrong Patterns to Improve Sequential Matching Performance for More Accurate Dynamic Context-Aware Recommendation)

  • Developing an agile recommender system for nomadic users has been regarded as a promising application in mobile and ubiquitous settings. To increase the quality of personalized recommendation in terms of accuracy and elapsed time, estimating future context of the user in a correct way is highly crucial. Traditionally, time series analysis and Makovian process have been adopted for such forecasting. However, these methods are not adequate in predicting context data, only because most of context data are represented as nominal scale. To resolve these limitations, the alignment-prediction algorithm has been suggested for context prediction, especially for future context from the low-level context. Recently, an ontological approach has been proposed for guided context prediction without context history. However, due to variety of context information, acquiring sufficient context prediction knowledge a priori is not easy in most of service domains. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a novel context prediction methodology, which does not require a priori knowledge, and to increase accuracy and decrease elapsed time for service response. To do so, we have newly developed pattern-based context prediction approach. First of ail, a set of individual rules is derived from each context attribute using context history. Then a pattern consisted of results from reasoning individual rules, is developed for pattern learning. If at least one context property matches, say R, then regard the pattern as right. If the pattern is new, add right pattern, set the value of mismatched properties = 0, freq = 1 and w(R, 1). Otherwise, increase the frequency of the matched right pattern by 1 and then set w(R,freq). After finishing training, if the frequency is greater than a threshold value, then save the right pattern in knowledge base. On the other hand, if at least one context property matches, say W, then regard the pattern as wrong. If the pattern is new, modify the result into wrong answer, add right pattern, and set frequency to 1 and w(W, 1). Or, increase the matched wrong pattern's frequency by 1 and then set w(W, freq). After finishing training, if the frequency value is greater than a threshold level, then save the wrong pattern on the knowledge basis. Then, context prediction is performed with combinatorial rules as follows: first, identify current context. Second, find matched patterns from right patterns. If there is no pattern matched, then find a matching pattern from wrong patterns. If a matching pattern is not found, then choose one context property whose predictability is higher than that of any other properties. To show the feasibility of the methodology proposed in this paper, we collected actual context history from the travelers who had visited the largest amusement park in Korea. As a result, 400 context records were collected in 2009. Then we randomly selected 70% of the records as training data. The rest were selected as testing data. To examine the performance of the methodology, prediction accuracy and elapsed time were chosen as measures. We compared the performance with case-based reasoning and voting methods. Through a simulation test, we conclude that our methodology is clearly better than CBR and voting methods in terms of accuracy and elapsed time. This shows that the methodology is relatively valid and scalable. As a second round of the experiment, we compared a full model to a partial model. A full model indicates that right and wrong patterns are used for reasoning the future context. On the other hand, a partial model means that the reasoning is performed only with right patterns, which is generally adopted in the legacy alignment-prediction method. It turned out that a full model is better than a partial model in terms of the accuracy while partial model is better when considering elapsed time. As a last experiment, we took into our consideration potential privacy problems that might arise among the users. To mediate such concern, we excluded such context properties as date of tour and user profiles such as gender and age. The outcome shows that preserving privacy is endurable. Contributions of this paper are as follows: First, academically, we have improved sequential matching methods to predict accuracy and service time by considering individual rules of each context property and learning from wrong patterns. Second, the proposed method is found to be quite effective for privacy preserving applications, which are frequently required by B2C context-aware services; the privacy preserving system applying the proposed method successfully can also decrease elapsed time. Hence, the method is very practical in establishing privacy preserving context-aware services. Our future research issues taking into account some limitations in this paper can be summarized as follows. First, user acceptance or usability will be tested with actual users in order to prove the value of the prototype system. Second, we will apply the proposed method to more general application domains as this paper focused on tourism in amusement park.

  • 차세대 웹인 모바일 웹에 대한 멀티미디어 서비스 욕구는 PC수준이 될 것이며, 이를 지원할 수 있는 단말기 제작 기술, 통신 기술, 서비스 및 표준화 노력들이 진행되고 있다. 모바일 웹 환경에서는 다양한 단말기 종류, 네트워크 능력 및 사용자 선호등을 지원하여 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 적응 서비스가 가능하도록 하여야 한다. 이것은 목적지인 단말기의 하드웨어 사양과 재생서비스 품질의 다양성으로 인하여 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 재생 서비스 품질이 고정되어 있지 않음을 의미한다. 만일 새로운 사용자가 새로운 종류의 단말기를 통하여 서버의 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 재생하려고 한다면, 기존 트랜스코더로 멀티미디어 적응이 가능한지 고려하여야 한다. 그런데 현재 사용되는 멀티미디어 적응 라이브러리들은 하나의 라이브러리에 모든 적응 기능을 넣은 중량 트랜스코더의(heavy transcoder) 형태이다. 이러한 중량 트랜스코더로 제한없는 접속(Universal Access)의 도전을 해결하는 것은 너무 복잡하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다양한 새로운 모바일 단말기의 서비스 품질을 만족하는 응용 독립적 멀티미디어 적응 프레임워크를 제안한다. 이것은 중량 트랜스코더대신 하나의 트랜스고딩 기능만을 갖는 단위 트랜스코더들의 집합을 갖는다. 또한 종단간 서비스 품질을 만족하도록 단위 트랜스코더들의 동적 연결을 지원하는 트랜스코더 관리자를 포함한다.

정보시스템의 실제 이용에 대한 연구: 모바일 서비스 시스템 품질을 중심으로 (A Study on Actual Usage of Information Systems: Focusing on System Quality of Mobile Service)

  • Information systems (IS) have become ubiquitous and changed every aspect of how people live their lives. While some IS have been successfully adopted and widely used, others have failed to be adopted and crowded out in spite of remarkable progress in technologies. Both the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the IS Success Model (ISSM), among many others, have contributed to explain the reasons of success as well as failure in IS adoption and usage. While the TAM suggests that intention to use and perceived usefulness lead to actual IS usage, the ISSM indicates that information quality, system quality, and service quality affect IS usage and user satisfaction. Upon literature review, however, we found a significant void in theoretical development and its applications that employ either of the two models, and we raise research questions. First of all, in spite of the causal relationship between intention to use and actual usage, in most previous studies, only intention to use was employed as a dependent variable without overt explaining its relationship with actual usage. Moreover, even in a few studies that employed actual IS usage as a dependent variable, the degree of actual usage was measured based on users' perceptual responses to survey questionnaires. However, the measurement of actual usage based on survey responses might not be 'actual' usage in a strict sense that responders' perception may be distorted due to their selective perceptions or stereotypes. By the same token, the degree of system quality that IS users perceive might not be 'real' quality as well. This study seeks to fill this void by measuring the variables of actual usage and system quality using 'fact' data such as system logs and specifications of users' information and communications technology (ICT) devices. More specifically, we propose an integrated research model that bring together the TAM and the ISSM. The integrated model is composed of both the variables that are to be measured using fact as well as survey data. By employing the integrated model, we expect to reveal the difference between real and perceived degree of system quality, and to investigate the relationship between the perception-based measure of intention to use and the fact-based measure of actual usage. Furthermore, we also aim to add empirical findings on the general research question: what factors influence actual IS usage and how? In order to address the research question and to examine the research model, we selected a mobile campus application (MCA). We collected both fact data and survey data. For fact data, we retrieved them from the system logs such information as menu usage counts, user's device performance, display size, and operating system revision version number. At the same time, we conducted a survey among university students who use an MCA, and collected 180 valid responses. A partial least square (PLS) method was employed to validate our research model. Among nine hypotheses developed, we found five were supported while four were not. In detail, the relationships between (1) perceived system quality and perceived usefulness, (2) perceived system quality and perceived intention to use, (3) perceived usefulness and perceived intention to use, (4) quality of device platform and actual IS usage, and (5) perceived intention to use and actual IS usage were found to be significant. In comparison, the relationships between (1) quality of device platform and perceived system quality, (2) quality of device platform and perceived usefulness, (3) quality of device platform and perceived intention to use, and (4) perceived system quality and actual IS usage were not significant. The results of the study reveal notable differences from those of previous studies. First, although perceived intention to use shows a positive effect on actual IS usage, its explanatory power is very weak ($R^2$=0.064). Second, fact-based system quality (quality of user's device platform) shows a direct impact on actual IS usage without the mediating role of intention to use. Lastly, the relationships between perceived system quality (perception-based system quality) and other constructs show completely different results from those between quality of device platform (fact-based system quality) and other constructs. In the post-hoc analysis, IS users' past behavior was additionally included in the research model to further investigate the cause of such a low explanatory power of actual IS usage. The results show that past IS usage has a strong positive effect on current IS usage while intention to use does not have, implying that IS usage has already become a habitual behavior. This study provides the following several implications. First, we verify that fact-based data (i.e., system logs of real usage records) are more likely to reflect IS users' actual usage than perception-based data. In addition, by identifying the direct impact of quality of device platform on actual IS usage (without any mediating roles of attitude or intention), this study triggers further research on other potential factors that may directly influence actual IS usage. Furthermore, the results of the study provide practical strategic implications that organizations equipped with high-quality systems may directly expect high level of system usage.

RFID의 보안업무 적용환경과 적용방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the RFID's Application Environment and Application Measure for Security)

  • 무선주파수를 이용해 직접적인 접촉 없이 사물에 부착된 태그를 식별하여 원하는 정보를 처리하는 자동인식기술인 RFID는 빠른 인식속도, 긴 인식거리, 금속을 제외한 대부분의 장애물 투과 기능 등의 특성으로 적용범위가 넓어지고 있다. 현재 125KHz, 134KHz, 13.56MHz, 433.92MHz, 900MHz, 2.45GHz 대의 주파수를 이용하여 물류, 교통, 안전 등 다양한 분야에 활용되고 있으며, 이러한 환경은 보안목적을 위해서도 유용하게 적용할 수 있는 중요한 기술적 요소가 되고 있다. RFID는 전 세계적으로 새로운 성장동력으로 각광받고 있으며, 우리나라에서도 향후 산업적으로 발전 가능성이 매우 높은 것으로 판단하여 정부차원에서 이 기술을 산업에 효과적으로 접목시키기 위하여 연구개발과제와 시범사업 등을 정책적으로 추진하고 있어 그 적용성 향상과 함께 보안업무를 위한 적용성도 높을 것으로 기대된다. RFID는 사람 및 차량에 대해 구역별로 구분하여 출입통제를 할 수 있어 기존의 통제업무를 한층 보완할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 RFID카드에 암호키를 격납하여 본인인증에 사용할 수 있다. RFID는 자기카드에 비해 보안이 강하기 때문에 주민등록증, 여권 등의 불법복제방지를 위해 이용할 수 있는데, 국제차원에서 여권 및 국제운전면허증 등에 RFID 도입을 추진하고 있는 것도 이러한 이유에서이다. 능동형 RFID는 장거리 데이터 전송이 가능하여 실시간 위치정보시스템에 적용하여 위치확인과 모니터링을 통해 사람을 보호하는 기능을 제공할 수 있고, RFID시스템이 지닌 인식 추적기능은 출입통제시스템과 연계하여 특정한 지역을 방문하는 외부인의 등록, 신분확인, 위치 확인 등의 효율적 관리와 방문자자가 불필요한 지역에 진입하는 것을 통제할 수 있으며, 반입되는 장비의 관리와 분실방지 등 체계적 운영을 위해 적용할 수 있다. RFID를 복사기에 적용하여 복사기 사용자, 복사량 등에 대해 효과적으로 관리 통제할 수 있으며, RFID 시스템과 연계된 프린터, 팩스 등의 접근통제 및 복사 내용을 감시할 수 있다. 갈수록 소형화 되고 있는 저장장치에 RFID 태그를 부착하고, RFID의 위치추적기능을 통해 물품의 무단 반출을 방지하고 물품의 반입과 반출을 효과적으로 통제할 수 있다. 기존의 출입통제시스템에서 사용하는 마그네틱 카드나 스마트카드는 출입자를 인식하고 통제하는 기능을 잘 수행했으나 물품의 반입을 통제하는 기능을 수행하지 못했다. 그러나 RFID 시스템의 무선 인식과 추적 기능은 출입통제 기능뿐 아니라 물품의 반출을 감시하고 통제할 수 있어 노트북이나 소형저장장치, 하드웨어와 같은 유형자산의 무단반출을 감시 통제하기 위해 적용할 수 있다.

고객중심의 CRM 구축비교 사례연구 (Customer-Centric CRM Implementation Case Study)

  • In the highly competitive and divers world of financial market, customer is the single most important factor to company's survival. Especially, creating a relationship with valued customers is a key to success. CRM provides the mean to retain high value customers. It takes a prospect of what customers expect. Utilizing those knowledge can help the products and service meet the customers' needs, thereby maximizing customer satisfaction and company's profit. In this report, I am going to suggest a few ways to develop successful CRM in the life insurance industry. First, CRM should innovate the way of communication to keep pace with Web 2.0 era. In other words, the customer's needs should be caught by real-time communication than traditional off-line market research. Thus, the functionality and specification of products can be decided by customer's direct choice so that the customers are able to purchase the understanding and experience of the products. Second, CRM project should consider whether the initial strategy plan can promise the stable growth of customer at the first step. When planning strategy, the project needs to identify what customer wants and how to fulfill the needs with stable growth of the customer. In addition, the CRM should be developed by realizing that customer centric benefits ultimately guarantee the growth of the organization. Third, CRM systems should enhance the organization's ability to take the customer's insight in a 360 degree view and to capture the voice of the customer directly. In order to develop the best matched product package, more precise customer segmentation should be ahead of market segmentation strategy. Forth, the biggest reward from CRM will be a customer royalty program. Many successful banks are already planning and practicing customer royalty strategy. A comprehensive analysis of customers and their behavior allow organization to identify high value potential customers' needs and determine a strategy required to meet those needs. Even life insurance companies such as Prudential Korea are developing products designed for royal customers. Fifth, understanding and managing the experience of customer called Customer Experience Management also can increase customer satisfaction. Measuring only customers' experience and adapting it to marketing strategy make products position in the gap between the customers' expectation and experience not required by market. A key component of CEM is its application across all organizational functions. At last, the direction of change and development of CRM can be defined from the conceptualization of information technology represented by Ubiquitous and Web 2.0. Instead of just managing customer information, companies should take the initiative in personalized system with customer oriented strategy. Furthermore, with the regular communication between CRM stakeholders (Sales-Marketing-IT), customer's demand should be directly reflected to enterprise strategy in real time.

조경산업 관점에서 4차 산업혁명 기술의 탐색 (Exploring the 4th Industrial Revolution Technology from the Landscape Industry Perspective)

  • 본 연구는 조경산업의 관점에서 4차 산업혁명 기술을 탐색하여, 선순환적 가치증대에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행하였다. 4차 산업혁명, 조경산업과 도시재생의 특성 등을 고찰하고, 체계적 연구에 적합한 기술 분류 체계를 틀로 선정하는 등 방법론을 설정하여 연구하였다. 먼저, 조경산업의 선순환적 가치증대에 활용이 가능한 디지털 데이터 기반의 4차 산업혁명 기술을 선별하였다. '요소기술 수준'에서 '핵심기술'인 사물인터넷, 클라우드 컴퓨팅, 빅데이터, 인공지능, 로봇, '주변기술'인 가상 증강현실, 드론, 3D 4D 프린팅, 3D 스캐닝이 디지털 데이터 기반의 4차 산업혁명 기술로 조명되었다. 조경산업에 특화하여 '트렌드 수준'으로 응용하면 선순환적 가치증대에 활용이 가능한 것으로 나타났다. '시스템 수준'은 하나의 범용기술로 분석하였으며, 플랫폼을 중심으로 요소기술 수준, 컴퓨터와 스마트기기 등이 유기적으로 상호연계되어 시스템화된 디지털 데이터 기반의 4차 산업혁명 기술로 조명되었다. 조경산업에 특화하여 '트렌드 수준'으로 응용하면 선순환적 가치증대에 효과적인 기술로 나타났다. 요소기술 수준을 응용한 트렌드 수준에서 제시된 모든 활용 방안의 구현과 시너지효과 창출이 가능하다. 스마트정원, 스마트공원 등이 추구해야 하는 수준으로 분석되었다. 트렌드 수준의 인접산업 기술 중에는 스마트시티, 스마트홈, 스마트팜 및 정밀농업, 스마트관광, 스마트헬스케어가 협업에 의한 연계성이 클 것으로 판단되었다. 다음으로, 도시재생 공공공간을 포함한 조경공간의 조성 유지관리 및 서비스에서 도구이자 소재로서, 트렌드 수준으로 응용된 관련 기술의 다양한 활용 방안이 조명되었다. 즉, 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 실현으로 조경공간에서 디지털 기술의 기본적 특성이 반영된 초연결화, 초실감화, 초지능화, 초융합화되는 방안들이 제시되었다. 조경산업이 도시재생 사업에 참여함에 있어서도, 기존 업무를 비롯하여 새로운 성격의 요구 수용 및 조율, 교육, 컨설팅 등에서 가치를 증대하는데 효과적인 것으로 분석되었다. 특히, 조경영역 전반이 전략적 교두보로 유지관리를 연계하여, 트렌드 수준의 관련 기술을 시스템화할 때 선순환적 가치증대에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 산업구조 상, 다양한 경로에서 생산된 데이터와 정보를 유통시키는데 효과적이기 때문이다. 향후 디지털 데이터 기반의 4차 산업혁명 기술을 실제 조경공간의 조성 유지관리 및 서비스에 융합하여 실증하는 등의 후속적 연구가 필요하다.
