  • 2007년 본격적으로 시장에 출시된 터치폰은 시장의 관심을 받으며, 휴대전화의 한 영역으로 자리매김하였다. 전세계 휴대전화 시장에서 터치폰이 차지하는 비중은 급속도로 증가하고 있다. 삼성전자는 시장에 후발주자로서 터치폰 시장에 진입하였음에도 불구하고, 2009년 3분기 기준 전세계 터치폰 시장의 23.9% 점유율을 차지하며 1위를 차지하고 있다.터치폰에서의 선전으로 삼성전자는 전세계 휴대전화 판매량의 20.3%를 달성하며 2위 자리를 확고히 하고 있다. 이러한 상승 추세는 지속될 것으로 보이며, 터치폰에서의 성공에는 TouchWiz UX가 중심에 있다고 할 수 있다. 본 세션에서는 TouchWiz UX를 통한 삼성 터치폰의 성공 전략에 대해 소개하고자한다. 우선 TouchWiz UX가 탄생할 수 있었던 배경으로서 당사의 디자인 철학이자 UX 다지인 철학을 간단하게 소개한다. "Creating Emotional Journey"라는 슬로건 아래 "Desire", "Intrigue", "Delight"라는 핵심철학을 공유하고 있다. 다음으로 TouchWiz UX를 성공 시킬 수 있었던 UX 추진 전략을 "Good UX 전략", "브랜드화 전략", "진화 전략", "확산 전략" 으로 나누어 소개한다. 첫째, Good UX 전략에서는 "Simple", "Robust", "Reliable"의 3대 원칙하에 사용성이 높고 감성을 자극하는 UX를 만들기위해 노력하였다. 둘째, 브랜드화 전략에서는 UX를 마케팅에 적극적으로 활용하여 TouchWiz라는 UX 브랜드를 탄생시켰다. 셋째, 진화 전략에서는 TouchWiz 1.0에서 2.0으로 진화하는 과정에서 핵심적인 부분은 유지하면서 발전시켜 나가는 전략을 선택하였다. 넷째, 확산 전략에서는 TouchWiz UX가 각기 다른 OS, Platform, 사업자에 따라 공통화, 차별화를 병행하여 확산하였다. 마지막으로, 내년에 소개될 TouchWiz 3.0에 대해 전략과 키워드를 간단히 소개한다.

  • UX (User Experience) Design was an interdisciplinary approach in humanities, engineering, science and design. We classified the roles of user experience; requirement analysis which are user research, constraints analysis and direction analysis, concept design, information architecture, physical UI, graphical UI, sound UI, Olfactory UI, prototype, evaluation, launch, localization, and knowledge management/UI DB. User research methods were classified by the relation of designer, user, and product/service. We reviewed three issues of UX design; complexity management, efficiency management, and mapping management.

컨텍스트(Context)중심의 UX디자인 방법론

  • UX 디자인을 하는데 있어서 제품이나 서비스를 대하는 사용자의 컨텍스트(Context)를 파악하는 것은 매우 중요한 일이다. 다양한 사용자 리서치 방법들 가운데 사용자의 컨텍스트를 파악하기 위한 방법으로는 Contextual Inquiry, 사용자 관찰, Cultural Probes, Contextmapping등이 있는데, 사용자의 컨텍스트는 매우 역동적이고 상황에 따라 다양하게 표현될 수 있으므로 이러한 방법들을 적절하게 조합하여 사용하는 것 이 필요하다. 이렇게 파악된 사용자의 행동패턴과 컨텍스트 요소를 반영하여 UX모델을 만드는데, 사용자의 목표와 사용행태를 기술하는 퍼소나(Persona)가 대표적인 방법이다, 또한 퍼소나를 기반으로 제품이나 서비스에 대한 아이디어와 디자인을 이끌어 내는데 활용하는 '사용자 시나리오(User Scenario)'는 미래의 혁신적인 사용자 경험을 제안하기 위한 유용한 방법이다.

A Study on the Meaning Extension of User-Centeredness in UX Design (사용자 경험 디자인의 사용자 중심성에 대한 의미 확장 연구)

  • The purpose of the study was to induce meaning of the UX design from users' interview. The study covers interviews from 20 untact finance application users in their twenties in written form. It aims to examine previous studies on UX design and to overcome their shortcomings by categorizing usability qualities focusing on verbs used in the interview. The followings are the result: Usability of UX design can be summarized into Unity, Trust, Persistency, Recognition and Approachability of the information to the 20 users in their twenties. As for the data earned from interviews focusing on verbs, usability included Security, Familiarity, Accessibility, Convenience of Operation and Visibility. Each of the qualities fell into related categories such as Security, Information, Brand and Design. In conclusion, analysis based on verb choices led to better understanding of the user-based experience compared to using objective means in previous studies and can be a suggestion to make up for errors in the former evaluation process.

  • More than 80% of the deaths in Korea are due to chronic diseases. Mobile applications continue to emerge where IT companies and medical hospitals work together to manage chronic diseases. In recent years, the development of artificial intelligence chatbot has been under way to improve the efficiency and convenience of management. Since the chatbot process the conversation by a dialogue, users who are familiar with the GUI-based environment may not be familiar with accessibility or usage. In this paper, we analyze UI / UX of the mobile application that manages diabetes in chronic diseases, and present the UI / UX design of chatbot through this result.

  • 최근 들어 차량은 단순히 이동을 위한 수단에서 벗어나 정보통신 기술과 융합되면서 콘텐츠를 소비하는 공간의 성격을 가져가고 있다. 자동차도 하나의 컴퓨터처럼 기능하게 되면서 차량 인포테인먼트의 역할이 차량 사용 경험에 중요한 요소로 자리 잡게 되었다. 그러나 교통수단이라는 특수한 환경임에도 불구하고 다른 환경에서 콘텐츠를 제공하는 형식과 차별화 없이 차량용 디스플레이에 맞춰 UI만 변경된 형태로 서비스가 제공되는 모습을 발견할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 문헌 조사 및 사용자 인터뷰를 통해 현재 차량 인포테인먼트 사용 행태와 보완점을 발견하여 개선 방향을 모색하고자 하였다. 사용자들이 차량 내에서 각기 다른 이용 패턴을 반복해서 실행하는 과정에서 인포테인먼트의 개인화 서비스에 대한 니즈가 있음을 확인하였고, 개인화 서비스를 통해 맞춤형 정보를 제공함으로써 새로운 가치를 만들어 낼 수 있음을 제시하고자 하였다.

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been inserted into people's lives through Intelligent Virtual Assistants (IVA), like Alexa. Moreover, intelligent systems have expanded to design studios. This research delves into designers' perspectives on developing AI-based practices and examines the challenges of adopting future intelligent design assistants. We surveyed UX/UI professionals in Brazil to understand how they use IVAs and AI design tools. We also explored a scenario featuring the use of Alexa Sensei, a hypothetical voice-controlled AI-based design assistant mixing Alexa and Adobe Sensei characteristics. The findings indicate respondents have had limited opportunities to work with AI, but they expect intelligent systems to improve the efficiency of the design process. Further, majority of the respondents predicted that they would be able to collaborate creatively with AI design systems. Although designers anticipated challenges in natural language interaction, those who already adopted IVAs were less resistant to the idea of working with Alexa Sensei as an AI design assistant.

Categorization of UX method based on UX expert's competence model (UX 전문가의 역량 모델에 기반한 수행역량유사도에 따른 UX 방법론 분류에 대한 연구)

  • As the local manufacturing industry has entered a phase of stagnation, service and product design based on user experience has been highlighted as an alternative for the innovation. However, SMEs(Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) are still struggling to overcome the current crisis. One of the reasons is that SMEs do not have enough contact points with the validated UX firms and experts. Thus, SMEs has a high barrier to invest in new opportunity area, user experience. In this study, we aim to figure out UX experts' competence to perform the UX method to solve the UX problems based on the KSA framework(Knowledge, Skill, Attitude). Based on the literature review and expert workshop, we grouped the UX method according to the similarity of the competence required to conduct the method. With cluster analysis, 5 different groups of UX method were defined based on the competence, Panoramic Analysis, Meticulous Observation and Analysis, Intuitive Interpretation, Agile Visualization, and Logical Inspection. The results would be applied to compose a portfolio of UX experts and to implement a mechanism that could recommend the professional experts to the company.

UX Design of Mobile Banking Usage Improvement for Seniors (시니어들을 위한 모바일 뱅킹 이용률 개선을 위한 UX 디자인)

  • Currently, the world's population has already entered a super-aging era, and the rate is expected to increase rapidly to about 40% by 2050. However, the rapid development of automation technology and the online service sector, the main technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, are still further isolating them in a world where many inconveniences and development technologies are applied. As such, alienation in daily life is widely expanded in various fields, but the financial service sector is one of the must-use areas regardless of age because of its strong nature in the public service sector, and is a very important factor in the period when branches are rapidly decreasing. However, the current utilization rate of mobile banking services is not around 5%, so users over 60 are rarely able to use them. The UX design of the most frequently used remittance service screen in mobile banking services was proposed, and the difficulty of trying to find the preferred bank among 56 or more banks was solved by analyzing the usage rate of each bank and dividing it into three stages by age group from 50 or older. In addition, it was designed to strengthen customized services by showing their recently used banks as the top priority. The design proposed in this study obtained an average of 4.8 points or more out of 5 points as a result of usability satisfaction through interviews with less than 50 senior groups. This study is believed to help each bank upgrade its different mobile banking designs in a unified manner.
