3상 모듈형 UPS용 PFC 제어기 설계 (A PFC Controller Design for 3-Phase Modular UPS)

  • In this paper a new PFC Controller for 3-Phase Modular UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supplies) is proposed. The PFC circuit for 3-Phase Modular UPS is implemented using three 1-phase 3-level boost PFC circuits. To control DC output voltage, single voltage controller considering imbalance of two capacitor voltages and to regulate AC input current three independent current controllers are used in proposed PFC controller. By the proposed method, without additional hardware, THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) of input currents can be readily limited below 5% which is the harmonic current requirements by IEEE std. 519. Its validity is verified by simulations and experiments.

  • In future domestic context aware applications the location of mobile devices is often required. Ultrasonic technology enables high resolution indoor position measurements. A disadvantage of state-of-art ultrasonic systems is that several base stations are required to estimate 3D position. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of using UPS as a 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool. The processes include the design and testing of UPS as an efficient 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool in the air. The paper will further explain the system architecture of the UPS and how to use GPS as 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool. The efficiency and effectiveness of the system was confirmed by a computer software simulation. The software will further display the result of drawing or writing from the user by graphics. As a result, it is possible to implement UPS as a 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool in the air.

  • This paper presents a digital control solution to process capacitor current feedback of high performance single-phase UPS for non-linear loads. In all UPS the goal is to maintain the desired output voltage waveform and RMS value over all unknown load conditions and transient response. The proposed UPS uses instantaneous load voltage and filter capacitor current feedback, which is based on the double regulation loop such as the outer voltage control loop and inner current control loop. The proposed DSP-based digital-controlled PWM inverter system has fast dynamic response and low total harmonic distortion (THD) for nonlinear load. The control system was implemented on a 32bit Floating-point DSP controller TMS320C32 and tested on a 5[KVA] IGBT based inverter switching at 11[Khz]. The validity of the proposed scheme is investigated through simulation and experimental results.

  • Ultrasonic Positioning System (UPS) is an absolute positioning system using ultrasonic waves and has better performance in low price than the other absolute positioning systems. UPS can be further used as pseudo-satellites in the place where GPS is not available. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of using UPS as a 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool.   • In this paper, a digital controller for satisfying time response requirements for UPS inverters is designed in a fixed sampling time. The CRA (Characteristic Ratio Assignment) is used as the continuous time design method to deal with the problems of overshoot and settling time. The main design approaches are the inward and outward approaches based on a double-loop feedback structure. The continuous-time controller is discretized by the emulation method. The performances of the proposed controller are evaluated through several simulations carried out with Simpower System Toolbox 3.0 from Simulink$^{(R)}.

  • 본 논문에서는 연료전지와 컨버터 모듈을 채용한 1-[KVA] 용량의 Line-interactive방식의 무정전 전원 공급장치(UPS)가 제안된다. 제안된 시스템은 두 개의 500[W]급 양자 교환막형 연료전지에 DC/DC 컨버터가 결합된 모듈을 채용하며, 이 모듈들이 인버터의 DC-Link를 공유한다. DC-Link에는 슈퍼커패시터 모듈이 채용되어 출력의 변동이나 연료 개질기의 느린 동특성으로 인한 연료전지와 부하 사이의 순시적인 전력의 불균형을 개선시킨다. 또한 슈퍼커패시터에 저장된 에너지는 단시간 동안의 과부하를 처리할 때에도 사용될 수 있다. 제안된 시스템은 배터리를 사용하지 않으므로 환경친화적이며 청정 에너지원에 대한 요구를 만족시킨다. 1-[KVA] 시스템의 설계 예가 제시되며, 1시간의 정전동안 부하에 전력을 공급하기 위해 필요한 수소의 양과 보상용 슈퍼커패시터의 용량을 계산하는 방법이 소개된다.

  • In this paper, single-phase uninterruptible power supply design method is presented. In this control scheme, input current, output current and output voltage are used. For voltage control PR controller is used and that for current controller is PI controller. The gains for controllers are sought by the classical method for determining gains. Throughout simulations the performance of single-phase UPS is verified.

  • This paper deals with a bidirectional ac-dc converter used in ups system application. We propose a Voltage-Source-Charge-Pump-Power-Factor-Correction(VS-CPPFC) ac-dc converters. First of all, we propose a charge pump power-factor-correction converter. Secondly, we derive and analyse a unity power factor condition. The proposed topology is based on a half-bridge for the primary and a current-fed push pull for the secondary side of a high frequency isolation transformer. The advantage of bidirectional flow of power achieved by using the same power components is that the circuit is simple and efficient. And the galvanically isolated topology is specially attractive in battery charge/discharge circuits in ups system. We design equivalent model for the steady-state circuit and analyse operation waveforms for each mode. We show that the proposed model can be applied to ups system by simulation processes.

  • Recently the wide use of the microprocessor requests the UPS systems to have various functions. This paper describes the action of peripheral anti internal controller, and the display for current conditions and self-diagnosis such as over load and system fault, and the control algorithm design of UPS system with 1-1.5KW ratings. IBM PC/AT is used as the control system and Turbo PASCAL Ver 5.5 as control language.
