440℃와 500℃에서 액체카드뮴음극을 이용한 우라늄 전착에 관한 연구 (A study on the electrodeposition of uranium using a liquid cadmium cathode at 440℃ and 500℃)

  • 파이로프로세싱에서 전해제련은 액체카드뮴음극(liquid cadmium cathode, LCC)을 이용하여 우라늄과 초우라늄원소(TRU)를 동시에 회수하는 공정이다. 액체카드뮴음극의 표면에 전착된 우라늄이 카드뮴 중의 우라늄 용해도(2.35wt%)를 초과하여 전착되면, 표면적이 큰 수지상 우라늄을 형성하여 액체카드뮴 내부로 가라앉지 않고 이 수지상 우라늄 자체가 고체전극으로 작용한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Cd-U 상태도를 바탕으로 ${\alpha}$상 우라늄(수지상 우라늄)이 안정하게 존재하는 $500^{\circ}C$와 카드뮴과 우라늄간 금속간 화합물(intermetallic compound)이 형성되는 $440^{\circ}C$의 두 가지의 온도 조건에서 전착실험을 하였다. $440^{\circ}C$에서 정전류법으로 전착한 경우, 우라늄은 수지상이 아닌 알갱이 형태로 전착되었고 액체카드뮴음극의 도가니 밖으로 자라나지 않은 채 카드뮴 풀 중앙을 중심으로 일정하게 적층되었다. XRD 분석을 통해 이러한 전착물이 $UCd_{11}$이라는 금속간 화합물이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. $UCd_{11}$은 카드뮴보다 비중이 커서 전착 중에 액체카드뮴 내부로 침전되므로 교반기를 사용하지 않고도 우라늄과 초우라늄원소를 동시에 회수할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

도시시설물관리를 위한 u-서비스 모델 (U-Service Model for Urban Facility Management)

  • 최근 들어, 유비쿼터스 기술을 활용한 u-도시에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 u-도시 관심 분야 중, 유비쿼터스 기술 기반의 도시시설물 관리 u-서비스 모델을 제시한다. 이를 위해 서비스 제공을 위한 비즈니스 모델을 정의하고, 시설물 관리 u-서비스 모델을 정의한다. 아울러, u-서비스 모델 구체화하기 위한 구성 요소로써, 서비스 기능, 서비스 프로세스, 서비스 참여자 간의 관계에 대해 제시한다. 먼저 원격모니터링, 원격제어 및 조회, 상황정보제공, 현장지원, 시설물 이력관리의 다섯 가지 서비스 기능에 대해 제시한다. 또한 다양한 서비스 제공을 위한 프로세스를 제시하고, 마지막으로 서비스 참여자간의 수요, 공급 관계에 대해서도 제시한다.

U-City에 있어서 온톨로지 기반 U-서비스 설계 (A Design of Ontology-driven U-Service in U-City)

  • 도시의 궁극적인 목적은 '도시의 삶의 질 향상'이다. 이를 이루기 위하여 지역사회 합의,평가와 지역공동체의 비젼과 목표의 공유는 물론 지역 및 커뮤니티의 컨텐츠 생산 및 유통 소비의 최적화가 요구된다. U-City에서 서비스의 내용인 콘텐츠의 공유에 대한 요구와 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 온톨로지는 공유를 전제로 의미적 관계를 설정하기 위한 도구로서 이러한 변화에 대응하는 온톨로지 기반 U-Service 모델 설계가 필요하다. 본 연구는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 온톨로지 위치기반 콘텐츠를 최대한 표현할 수 있도록 하는 지도의 생성 및 서비스 구현의 가능성을 밝혀보았다.

단면현상에 따른 벽식구조 전단벽의 구조성능 평가 (Structural Performance of Shearwall with Sectional Shape in Wall-type Apartment Buildings)

  • Structural performance of the walls subjected to lateral load reversals depends on various parameters such as loading history, sectional shape, reinforcement, lateral confinement, aspect ratio, axial compression, etc. Thus, the performance of the shearwall for wall-type apartment should be evaluated properly considering above parameters. This study investigates the effect of sectional shape on the structural performance of the wall. Sectional shape of the specimen is rectangular, barbell and T. Based on this experimental results, all specimens behaved as ductile fashion and failed by concrete crushing of the compression zone. Deformation index of those specimens evaluated better than 3 of ductility ratio, and 1.5% of deformability specified by seismic provision. Moreover, the performance of the rectangular shaped specimen, whose compression zone was confined with U-bar and cross tie, was as good as the barbell shaped specimen. Therefore, if we considered construction practice such as workmanship and detailing, shearwall with rectangular section may be more economical lateral load resisting system.

차체용 알루미늄 판재의 프레스 성형성 (Press Formabilities of Aluminum Sheets for Autobody Application)

  • Press formabilities of aluminum sheets for automobile body were investigated. Plane strain stretching test (called RIST-PSST), cupping test and U bending test were performed to assess the press formability of aluminum sheets respectively. The results showed that aluminum sheets are generally inferior to cold-rolled steel sheet of deep drawing quality (CSP3N) in press formability. The limiting punch height (LPH) and limiting plane strain (FLCo) of aluminum sheets are 50%-70% level compared to that of CSP3N. Moreover, the limiting drawing ratios(LDR) of aluminum sheets are ranged between 1.95 and 2.1. The poor press formability of aluminum sheets is responsible for low values of total elongation and plastic anisotropy parameter in tensile characteristic. The shape fixability of aluminum sheets evaluated in U bending test is very poor due to its low elastic modulus compared to CSP3N.

Riblet 홈을 가진 원주의 저항감소에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on Drag Reduction of Grooved Cylinders)

  • An experimental investigation has been carried out for two circular cylinders having different groove configurations(U and V-shape). The results were compared with those for the smooth circular cylinder. The drag force, mean velocity and turbulent intensity profiles of wake behind the cylinders were measured with varying the Reynolds number $Re=8000{\sim}14,000$ based on the cylinder diameter. As a results, the U-groove circular cylinder was found to be most effective riblet shape with reducing the drag up to 21%. As the Reynolds number increases, the vortex shedding frequency of the grooved cylinders becomes a little larger, compared to the smooth cylinder. The flow visualization using the smoke-wire technique was also carried out to see the flow structure qualitatively.

건강관련 신발에 적용된 특허기술에 대한 분석 (Analysis of Patented Technology for Health related Footwear)

  • The patent application state of Europe, U.S.A, and Korea was analyzed to grasp the technology development trends and to suggest a direction for research development of health related shoes. Europe has high concentration of patent activity in corrective treatment, while Korea has high concentration in fitness and U.S.A in diet related fields. Numerous shape and structure designs were done to have the effect of corrective treatment. Adding weight to shoes has been used to create diet-effect, but it suggests a lack of technical methods to increase weight effectively. For fitness effect, variation of shape and structure of the outsole are often used.

A new species of Cavernocypris(Ostracoda) from Texas(U.S.A.) with a taxonomic key

  • Cavernocypris reddelli n. sp. is a new species of the genus Cavernocypris collected from spring waters of Texas, U.S.A.. This is the sixth species of the genus described so far. It can be distinguished from the other species of the genus by the shape and length of carapace, presence of robust marginal pore canals on right valve, number and length of setae on second antenna, shape of hemipenis, numbers of whorls on the Zenker organ, and differences in other parts of chaetotaxy. The new species was compared with other species and a new taxonomic key for the genus is presented for future studies.

고조파음원에 의한 초음파영상의 해상도 개선 (Ultrasound Imaging Improvement using Higher Harmonics of Impluse Sound)

  • Acoustical imaging has made brilliant progress in the medical science field, and has also made much progress in the nondestructive testing and under water acoustics applications since doctor Dussik brother has studied about possibilities of making images of brain by recording variations in the intensity of ultrasonic beam from head in 1937. In this paper an acoustical image is reconstructed with the power spectra analysed by impulse ultrasound wave generated by electrodynamic transducer(EDT). The EDT generates the impulse ultrasound of 77KHz in center frequency and 120KHz in bandwidth at -20dB by 1200V exciter in this experiment. The impulse ultrasound has the dominant frequency components of 47KHz, 177KHz, 110KHz and 155KHz. The U shape object is adopted in making an acoustical image. The resulted spectral acoustical images are different from the optical view of the U shape object. However the image reconstructed from 110KHz spectrum is very similar to the original optical shape of the object. Even KHz level impulse sound of 70$\mu$sec pulse width is found to be useful in reconstructing acoustical imaging improvement.

회전코일 와전류신호를 이용한 증기발생기 곡관형 튜브의 축방향노치 신호의 특성 (Characteristics of Eddy Current Signals of Axial Notches in Steam Generator U-bend Tubes using Rotating Pancake Coils)

  • Steam generator tubes are critical boundary of the primary and secondary side in nuclear power plants. Eddy current testing is commonly used as the method of non-destructive testing for the safety and integrity of steam generator tubes in the nuclear power plants. Changes in the geometric shape act as a stress concentration factor likely to cause a defect during the steam generator operation. The mixed-signals with the geometric shape are distorted and attributes that are difficult to detect signals. An example is bending stress due to compression process at a U-bend occurring in the intrados region which has a small radius of curvature. The resulting change in the geometric shape may lead to a dent like occurrences. The dent can cause stress concentration and generates stress corrosion cracks. In this study, the steam generator tubes of nuclear power plant were selected to study for analysis of mixed-signal containing dent and stress corrosion cracks.
