본 연구에서는 u-City 인력양성 현황을 토대로 국토해양부의 u-City 관련 인력양성에 대한 실천 계획이 효율적으로 실행될 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. u-City를 추진하는 지자체, 개발사업자마다 공통적으로 제기하는 문제점은 u-City 관련 고급 및 산업 인력의 절대적인 부족이다. u-City 전문 인력은 u-City건설의 특성상 도시계획.개발, 정보통신망, IT 등 다양한 분야에 대한 전문지식을 갖추어야하나 이러한 고급인력이 배출되고 있지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인력양성방안의 목표를 'u-City의 성공적인 추진에 부합하는 전문 인력 양성'으로 설정하였으며, 수요자 중심의 교육, 지역 균형적인 전문 인력 양성, u-City 관련분야의 융.복합교육, u-City 관련 교육인프라 구축을 추진전략으로 수립하였다. u-City 인력양성의 추진목표 및 전략을 실행하기 위한 중점추진과제로는 'u-City건설 전문 인력 교육 관련 수요전망', '지역별 거점대학 선정을 통한 전문 인력의 양성', 'u-City 인력양성센터 건립추진', '교육포탈을 통한 온라인 교육', '교육인프라 구축' 등 5개를 선정하였다. u-City 인력양성을 위한 추진전략의 성공적 실행을 위해서는 중점 추진과제들 간의 유기적인 연계가 필수적이다.

Internet use in the world is rapidly growing. The Internet Is affecting all aspects of life, as we know it. The world of business will probably be changed forever. The construction industry is a major part of the business world It is also seeing changes because of the Internet. This study is to provide the construction industry with an understanding of the current use of the Internet by U.S. general contractors. This study consisted of surveying construction general contractors with regards to their current and future Internet use. The study shows that Internet use by U.S. general contractors is the highest at what was identified as the support level . Use at the corporate level was second, while use at the project level was lower. This study demonstrates that companies of every size are using the Internet somehow in order to remain competitive and to enable improvement of performance.

u-City의 계획, 건설 및 운영 관리를 지원하기 위한 "유비쿼터스도시의건설등에관한법률(이하 'u-City법'이라고 함)"이 제정 공포되었다(2008.3.28). u-City 통합운영센터(이하 '운영센터'라고 함)는 u-City의 의미와 상징성에 있어서 그 역할이 매우 크며, 그 제도적 정착이 u-City 실현에 가장 중요한 요소라고 하겠다. 운영센터의 설치는 u-City가 일반도시와 구별되는 가장 상징적 의미를 가질 뿐만 아니라, 일반도시가 u-City화 되기 위한 필수 구현요소에 해당한다. 또한 도시내 다양한 시설, 서비스 및 이를 지원하기 위한 관련 정보시스템과 인프라기반 등의 융복합화를 총괄적으로 관할하는 핵심시설로서 그 의미와 중요성이 매우 크다. 이러한 핵심역할과 상징성에도 불구하고 운영센터의 기초 개념정의, 구조 및 운영방안 등 전반적 사항에 대한 재정리와 이를 적극적으로 표준화하여 제도적으로 정착시키는 방안마련이 매우 미진한 것이 현실이다. 본 연구의 목적은 운영센터의 성공적 구현을 위한 법적 기반 조성의 일환으로 이제까지 거론된 운영센터의 제반 현안들을 정의와 위상을 중심으로 정리하고, 성공적 운영센터구현을 향한 제도적 정착방안 마련을 위한 기본방향과 추진전략을 제시하는데 있다.

The first full-scale u-City operation has started in Dongtan u-City. As local cities take over and operate the u-City, unexpected issues arise such as securing the budget of operating costs and self-providing the costs with business models utilizing the u-City assets. The paper presents a strategy for solving these issues. The strategy provides a foundation(infrastructure) for long-term operation models which may reduce the long-term operating costs. In order to establish the economic operating framework of u-City, suggested are some cost-reduction models based on the operating costs structure. For each model, a base framework with comparative analysis of operating costs is provided. With these models, each u-City may select a relevant model according to the characteristics of it. We hope that the framework provides the foundation for efficient and sustainable u-City operations.

최근 'u-City'라는 명제 하에 도시민의 일상적인 삶의 토대로서의 물리적 도시환경과 첨단정보기술의 통합이 본격적으로 시도되고 있다. 이에 따라 u-City의 효용성과 파급효과에 대한 기대심리와 u-City 구현의 걸림돌이 되는 다양한 법제도 및 기술적 제약요인들로 인한 우려의 목소리가 공존하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 u-City의 성공적인 구현을 위해 시급히 해결해야 할 현안과제를 도출하고 시사점을 제시함으로써, u-City 구현에 대한 회의적이고 부정적인 시각을 해소해나가고자 한다. 이러한 취지에서 이 연구에서는 u-City구현과 관련된 각계 각층의 전문가들의 의견을 수렴하여 u-City구현을 위한 u-인프라, u-서비스, 정책(법제도)측면의 현안과제와 u-City의 추진단계별 현안 과제를 도출하고 시사점을 제시하였다.

2008년 2월 $\ulcorner$유비쿼터스도시의건설등에관한법률$\lrcorner$이 국회를 통과하였다. 이 법에는 유비쿼터스도시 계획, 건설, 관리에 관한 사항들이 정해져 있다. 범국가 차원의 법 추진체계가 마련됨에 따라 향후 도시들이 u-City로 계획되고 건설될 수 있는 법적 근거를 가지게 된다. 앞으로 이 법률에 근거하여 국가차원의 u-City 종합계획 등 계획적 수요가 크게 증대할 것으로 기대된다. 본 연구는 이러한 새로운 수요에 대응하기 위해 u-City를 실제 구현하고 현실화하기 위한 수단으로 계획적 접근방법을 찾아보고자 수행되었다. 저마다 다른 내용과 범위를 가지고 난립하고 있는 u-City 사업을 보다 구조화되고 체계화된 관점에서 수립되도록 규정하기 위한 틀을 제공하고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구는 u-City 구현을 위한 종합적인 계획체계의 틀을 정립하는데 목적을 두고 u-City 계획과 관련된 이론적 근거를 살펴보고 기존 u-City관련 사례 및 관련 계획을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 u-City 계획체계의 개념, 특성, 구성요소를 정립하였다.

A significant amount of data including ongoing construction activities, work quantities, resources utilized by contractors, and site conditions is collected in highway construction sites on a daily basis by resident engineers. This data is commonly known as daily work reports (DWRs) in the U.S. Although a lot of time and effort is invested in collecting the DWR data, its utilization has been very limited. This paper discusses current practices of collecting and utilizing DWR data among various Departments of Transportation in the U.S., and discusses the challenges and opportunities for better collection and utilization of the data. An extensive literature review and two nationwide surveys in the U.S. were conducted as a part of this study. Finally, it provides a set of recommendations to effectively address the challenges identified and maximize the benefits of utilizing DWR data such as supporting various decisions for highway project development process. The findings of this study are implementable ideas that can aid DOTs in making data-driven decisions throughout the project development processes in the future.

Evaluation of construction claims history can provide insights to improvement opportunities in a capital project portfolio. This study analyzed construction litigation claims extracted from the U.S. Court of Federal Claims (COFC) history involving the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) from 1995-2004. Twenty-four total cases were examined over this period. Both "primary" causes and "root" causes were identified and compared to 666 litigation cases reviewed by the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA). Based on the analysis, strategies for resolving future disputes are recommend using a 'hybrid' process prior to litigation.

There is a shround of mystery surronnding Gaudi. In all probability, the first mist preventing us from gaining acess to his work is the intrinstic mysteriousness of all genius and, at the end of the day, of all human spirit. The situation is complicated by the well-known fact that Gaudi wished to creat an aura of silence around his persona, while, at the same time as maintaining this secretiveneness - in other words, the annihiliation of his fundamental values-gave expression and symbolisation to his moods and incerdible mental power. On a piece of land on the Muntanya Pelada, in the Barcelona district of La Salut, Eusebi G$\ddot{u}$ell Wanted to build an urbanisation inspired by the concepe of the garden city. in this he sought to return to nature, health and an escape from the insalubrous industrial city. Gaudi worked on the construction of this park between 1900 and 1914, and even moved his home there in 1906. An outstanding feature of park G$\ddot{u}$ell is the integration of architecture with nature. In other to save the natural slopes, Gaudi built viaducts from brick pillars, which he covered with stone obtained from the excavation.
