Modeling and Simulation for a Tractor Equipped with Hydro-Mechanical Transmission

  • Purpose: A simulator for the design and performance evaluation of a tractor with a hydro-mechanical transmission (HMT) was developed. Methods: The HMT consists of a hydro-static unit (HSU), a swash plate control system, and a planetary gear. It was modeled considering the input/output relationship of the torque and speed, and efficiency of HSU. Furthermore, a dynamic model of a tractor was developed considering the traction force, running resistance, and PTO (power take off) output power, and a tractor performance simulator was developed in the co-simulation environment of AMESim and MATLAB/Simulink. Results: The behaviors of the design parameters of the HMT tractor in the working and driving modes were investigated as follows; For the stepwise change of the drawbar load in the working mode, the tractor and engine speeds were maintained at the desired values by the engine torque and HSU stroke control. In the driving mode, the tractor followed the desired speed through the control of the engine torque and HSU stroke. In this case, the engine operated near the OOL (optimal operating line) for the minimum fuel consumption within the shift range of HMT. Conclusions: A simulator for the HMT tractor was developed. The simulations were conducted under two operation conditions. It was found that the tractor speed and the engine speed are maintained at the desired values through the control of the engine torque and the HSU stroke.

평행사변형 기구를 이용한 평면 병렬형 병진운동 기구 개발 (Development of Two Types of Novel Planar Translational Parallel Manipulators by Using Parallelogram Mechanism)

  • In this paper, two types of novel planar Translational Parallel Manipulators (TPMs) by using parallelogram mechanism are conceived. One is made up of two Pa-P (Parallelogram-Prismatic) legs connecting the base to the moving platform. The other consists of two P-Pa legs, which is the kinematic inversion of the former. Since connecting links in a parallelogram mechanism are subject to only tensile/compressive load and all the heavy actuators are mounted at the base, the proposed manipulators can be applied for planar positioning/assembly tasks requiring high stiffness and high speed. The position, velocity, and statics are analyzed, and the design methodology using prescribed workspace and velocity transmission capability is presented. Finally, two types of prototype manipulators have been developed.

  • This paper performs a comparison analysis of two types of HVDC system in Jeju power system. A traditional HVDC transmission system had been composed of line commutated converter based on thyristors and the development of semiconductors enables to apply voltage source converter using IGBTs. The detailed parameters of Jeju power system were considered to make a similar condition with real system in real time digital simulator. Two types of HVDC transmission system were modeled and simulated to compare their characteristics in Jeju power system. The simulation results demonstrate that the VSC-HVDC system has more stable performance due to the fast response speed than LCC-HVDC when the transmission capacity was fluctuated.

  • A lot of efforts have been made to analyze the performance of the vehicle equipped with automatic transmission through simulation. It might be necessary to understand the different types of transmissions, i.e., different power flows, for different models. If there is a module that can be applied to different types of automatic transmission, it could be helpful to transmission-related engineers. This study has started up from this idea. The common bond graph has been obtained from several types of the automatic transmission. The overall generalized equations and kinematic constraint equations have been derived using virtual power sources on common bond graph. They are used to derive state equations and constraints. These equations have been applied as an application to the vehicle equipped with two simple planetary gear set type of Ravigneaux gear type automatic transmission. The state equation, kinematic constraints, and dynamic constraints have been derived in every gear and shift operation using overall generalized equations and kinematic constraint equations. Simulations for constraint speed running, standing-start running, rolling-start running, and LA-4 mode have been conducted to analyze the performance of the vehicle powertrain using GVPS(Generalized Vehicle Powertrain Simulation) program wit pull down menus.

벨트클러치 전동방식의 농업용 소형 스키드 스티어 로더 (Small Agricultural Skid-steer Loader Using Belt Clutch Power Transmission)

  • Since the skid-steer loader is able to work for excavating, lifting and transporting load even at the narrow space, they are widely used in the regular farm and the livestock farm. The skid-steer loader normally adopts the hydrostatic transmission because the power to move the machine backward and forward should be delivered independently on both sides of wheels. Contrast to the mechanical system such as chain and belt transmissions, however, the hydrostatic transmission is less efficient in the use of energy and more difficult in the maintenance. This study was intended to investigate the feasibility of using triangular-type belt clutch and V-belt transmission for the newly developed skid-steer loader in order to overcome the problems stated in the hydrostatic transmission. In the developed triangular-type belt clutch, the centers of driving, driven and idler sheaves are arranged in the triangular shape in a plane, and V-belts were loaded loosely on three sheaves. The power is transmitted by pressing the idler connected to a lever on the loosened V-belt. Contrast to the normal belt clutch using two sheaves, the newly developed belt clutch has the characteristics of small contact-angle of the driving sheave at no bucket load and increasing contact-angle at the time of power transmission. The results of research can be summarized as follows: 1) The developed triangular-type belt clutch adopted a spring-loaded slackside idler which could transmit more power than a fixed idler could by sacrificing the belt life. The life of V-belt used in the power transmission reached at 500 hours(6 months) when the engine power of 11.8 ㎾ was transmitted. Also, it was feasible to develop the large industrial skid-loader with the V-belt transmission by using the proper set of sheaves. 2) The developed skid-steer loader changed the rotating radius and speed with bucket loads as the conventional skid steer loader did. The rotating speed was 47 deg/s at the maximum bucket load of 2.74 kN when the minimum rotating radius was 1.5m. 3) The power required in turning at the bucket load of 2.74 kN was 4 ㎾ and the slippage of V-belt was less than 1%.

고속 무선랜 시스템에서 콘볼루션 부호기 및 터보 부호기를 이용한 성능 비교 (Performance Comparison of Convolutional Coder and Turbo Coder in a High-Speed Wireless LAN System)

  • 무선랜 기술은 소규모 공간에서 적은 비용과 낮은 전력으로 고속 데이터 전송을 가능하게 한다. 고속 무선랜 관련 표준안인 IEEE 802.11a 및 ETSI HIPERLAN(High Performance Radio LAN) 규격은 5 ㎓대의 무선주파수를 사용하며 고속 데이터 전송에 적합하고 주파수 효율이 높은 OFDM 방식을 채택하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 SPW 시뮬레이션 플랫포옴을 이용하여 유럽의 무선랜 표준 방식인 HIPERLAN/2를 구현하여 표준안에 포함된 구속장의 길이가 7인 콘볼루션 부호기를 이용한 성능과 콘볼루션 부호기 대신에 샤논 한계에 근접하는 우수한 성능을 가진 코드율이 1/2, 1/3, 1/4인 터보 부호기를 적용하여, 다양한 데이터율을 가지는 HIPERLAN/2 무선랜 시스템의 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과에 의하면 데이터율이 12 Mbps에서는 터보 코드율이 1/3, 1/4 일 때 콘볼루션 부호기보다 약 3 ㏈ 이상의 우수한 성능 개선을 보였고, 데이터율이 36 Mbps 에서는 코드율이 1/4 일 때 기존의 콘볼루션 부호기보다 약 4 ㏈ 이상 성능이 더 개선됨을 알 수 있었다.

농업용 트랙터 기반 소형 타워야더의 견인 성능 개선에 관한 연구 (Traction Performance Improvement Study on a Small-scale Tower Yarder Attached to a Farm Tractor)

  • 국내 임목수확작업에 사용되고 있는 트랙터 기반 소형 타워야더는 소경재 생산을 목적으로 개발되었으며, 중대경재 수확 체제로 변화함에 따라 견인 성능의 개선이 필요하다. 이 연구는 동력 전달방식을 기존의 기계식에서 기계 유압식으로 개선하여 타워야더의 최대 견인력을 비교·분석하였으며, 트랙터 엔진속도, 유압식 동력 전달 기구의 압력을 변수로 두고 견인 성능 실험을 실시하였다. 실험 수준은 트랙터 엔진속도(1,200, 1,400, 1,600, 1,800, 2,000, 2,200 rpm) 6수준, 동력 전달 기구의 압력(4.9, 6.9, 8.8 MPa) 3수준으로 선정하였다. 기존의 경우 최대 견인력은 엔진 회전속도 757 rpm에서 15,146.6 N의 최대견인력을 발휘하였으나 개선된 타워야더는 엔진 회전속도 1,575 rpm에서 36,140 N의 최대 견인력이 나타나, 최대 견인력이 2.4배 증가되었다. 이에 따라 중대경재 위주의 목재수확 현장에서 작업이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 또한 기존 장비를 재활용하여 성능 개선함으로써 견인력이 큰 집재장비의 신규 도입 및 운영에 필요한 비용을 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Numerical simulation of unsteady galloping of two-dimensional iced transmission line with comparison to conventional quasi-steady analysis

  • Most of the previous works on numerical analysis of galloping of transmission lines are generally based on the quasisteady theory. However, some wind tunnel tests of the rectangular section or hangers of suspension bridges have shown that the galloping phenomenon has a strong unsteady characteristic and the test results are quite different from the quasi-steady calculation results. Therefore, it is necessary to check the applicability of the quasi-static theory in galloping analysis of the ice-covered transmission line. Although some limited unsteady simulation researches have been conducted on the variation of parameters such as aerodynamic damping, aerodynamic coefficients with wind speed or wind attack angle, there is a need to investigate the numerical simulation of unsteady galloping of two-dimensional iced transmission line with comparison to wind tunnel test results. In this paper, it is proposed to conduct a two dimensional (2-D) unsteady numerical analysis of ice-covered transmission line galloping. First, wind tunnel tests of a typical crescent-shapes iced conductor are conducted firstly to check the subsequent quasisteady and unsteady numerical analysis results. Then, a numerical simulation model consistent with the aeroelastic model in the wind tunnel test is established. The weak coupling methodology is used to consider the fluid-structure interaction in investigating a two-dimension numerical simulation of unsteady galloping of the iced conductor. First, the flow field is simulated to obtain the pressure and velocity distribution of the flow field. The fluid action on the iced conduct at the coupling interface is treated as an external load to the conductor. Then, the movement of the conduct is analyzed separately. The software ANSYS FLUENT is employed and redeveloped to numerically analyze the model responses based on fluid-structure interaction theory. The numerical simulation results of unsteady galloping of the iced conduct are compared with the measured responses of wind tunnel tests and the numerical results by the conventional quasi-steady theory, respectively.

한글 모오스부호의 개선에 대한 방안 (A Proposal for Revising Hangeul Morse Code)

  • 본 연구에서는 현재 사용되는 한글 모오스 부호가 정보이론에 의거한 합리적인 부호가 되지 못한다는 점을 지적하였고 이를 개선하기 위하여 한글의 사용빈도에 대한 통계를 고려한 합리적인 한글 모오스 부호를 제안하였으며 더 나아가서 26개 문자방식을 채택하는 경우가 24개 한글 기본문자만 채택하는 경우에 비하여 정보의 전송속도 면에서 어떠한 영향을 주는가를 검토하였다. 이 결과로 제안된 한글 모오스 부호는 현재 사용되고 있는 한글 모오스 부호보다 부호의 평균 길이를 17% 단축시켰으며 따라서 통신속도가 21% 향상 된다는 결론이 나왔다.

진동 저감을 위한 치차감속기 설계에 대한 연구 (An Investigation on Design of the Gear Reductioner for the Vibration Suppression)

  • The mathematical model of the gear reductioner which consists which consists of the geared rotor-bearing system containing case is developed, assuming as the lumped parameter system. Constraints for vibration suppresion as well as strength of gear teeth, and shaft and kinematic conditions in gear pairs are considered. To find the design parameters satisfing the proposed constraints, a direct search method modified by the technique of Taguchi's experimental scheduling is used. One and two stepped gear reductioners are designed so that the criticl speeds due to the gear transmission error are moved out of the operating speed range.
