Fabrication of Prototype vuv Spectrometer & Liquid Target System Containing Hydrogen

  • The vuv spectrometer for ITER main plasma measurement is designed as a five-channel spectral system. To develop and verify the design, a two-channel prototype system was fabricated with No. 3 (14.4-31.8 nm) and No. 4 (29.0-60.0 nm) among the five channels. For test of the prototype system, a hollow cathode lamp is used as a light source. The system is composed of a collimating mirror to collect the light from source to slit, and two holographic diffraction gratings with toroidal geometry to diffract and also to collimate the light from the common slit to detectors. The overall system performance was verified by comparing the measured spectral resolutions with the calculated spectral resolutions. And we also have developed liquid jet target system. This study is about a neutron generator, which is designed to overcome many of the limitations of traditional beam-target neutron generators by utilizing a liquid target. One of the most critical aspects of the beam-target neutron generator is the target integrity under the beam exposure. A liquid target can be a good solution to overcome damage to the target such as target erosion and depletion of hydrogen isotopes in the active layer, especially for the ones operating at high neutron fluxes and maintained relatively thin with no need for water cooling. In this study, liquid target containing hydrogen has been developed and tested.

Crop-row Detection by Color Line Sensor

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a crop-row detector which can be applied to an automatic row following control for cultivators or thinning machines. In this report, a possibility of new crop-row detecting method was discussed. This detecting method consists of two principal means. One is the hardware means to convert the two dimensional crop-row vision to the compacted one dimensional information. The conversion is achieved by a color line sensor and a rotating mirror. In order to extract crop-row , R and G signals of RGB color system are used. The locations of two different points on the target row are detected by this means. Another is the software means to estimate the offset value and the heading angle between the detector and the target row which can be assumed as a straight line. As a result of discussion, it was concluded that this detecting method would be accurate enough for practical use.

위성탑재용 카메라 광학부 예비설계

  • 본 논문에서는 위성탑재용 고해상도 카메라 광학부의 예비설계 내용을 소개하고 차기 위성탑재체 개발에 필요한 기술적 제안사항을 수록하였다. 위성탑재용 고해상도 전자광학카메라 개발을 위한 광학 설계로서, 685㎞ 고도에서 지상 해상도 5m 성능을 가진 카세그레인 응용 Catadioptric 설계와 Unobscured Reflective Triplet 설계를 각각 수행, 그 spot diagram 및 MTF 등을 분석하였으며 이를 제작하는데 필요한 재질과 궤도상 운용조건까지 고려하여 실제 개발에 충분한 성능을 가진 광학설계 임을 입증하였다. 또한 차세대 위성탑재용 분광영상카메라(Hyperspectral Imager) 개발을 위하여 HSI Development Model을 설계하고 제작하였는데 그 설계 내용을 본 논문에 수록하였다. Off-axis 2-mirror 체계인 Telescope 부분과 Collimator-Grating-Reimaging lens cell로 이루어진 항우연 HSI DM의 광학 설계를 소개하고, 약 25%에 이르는 MTF성능을 포함한 설계부터 성능특성까지 주요기술사항을 기록하였다.

Kalman 필터를 이용한 비접촉식 응시점 추정 시스템에서의 빠른 머리 이동의 보정 (Compensation for Fast Mead Movements on Non-intrusive Eye Gaze Tracking System Using Kalman Filter)

  • We propose an eye gaze tracking system under natural head movements. The system consists of one CCD camera and two front-surface mirrors. The mirrors rotate to follow head movements in order to keep the eye within the view of the camera. However, the mirror controller cannot guarantee the fast head movements, because the frame rate is generally 30Hz. To overcome this problem, we applied Kalman predictor to estimate next eye position from the current eye image. In the results, our system allows the subjects head to move 50cm horizontally and 40cm vertically, with the speed about 10cm/sec and 6cm/sec, respectively. And spatial gaze resolutions are about 4.5 degree and 4.5 degree, respectively, and the gaze estimation accuracy is 92% under natural head movements.

분광특성을 이용한 소형의 메탄 가스 감지 시스템 (Small Methane Detection System using Optical Spectrum Characteristics)

  • We developed a small methane detection system because methane gas is used in many areas and is dangerous. The developed system consisted of LD(Laser Diode) tuned a wavelength of $1.65\;{\mu}m$, two mirrors to collect a laser beam, photo detector. It could detect methane gas at a long range and its sensitivity was 1.98 V/$CH_4%$.

  • In recent years, miniaturization has become the key factor in the development of mobile communication system. Portable communications and computing devices suffer from two conflicting requirements which are device size to be as small as possible and large, high resolution display. These problems can be solved by virtual display. Any display in which the user views an image through an optical system is a virtual display. It provides a display which is high resolution, appears large to the viewer and at the same time occupies little physical space. In this study, handhold units of mobile communication was investigated through use of the SLA(Scanned Linear Array). The basic SLA mechanism comprises a linear array of LED's, a magnifying lens, and a scan mirror. To optimize virtual image, we investigated optical system design and operating condition for each part.

Research on the Solar Concentrating Optical System for Solar Energy Utilization

  • To improve the utilization efficiency of solar energy, a new solar optical concentrating system composed of a parabolic reflector with a square cross-section, a hyperbolic reflector with a square cross-section and two converging convex lenses has been designed. The proposed method can simultaneously focus and shape sun light into a square pattern on the solar panel. In addition, the total reflection property of photonic crystal within the range of the visible sunlight spectrum has been analyzed. Finally, the relationship between solar concentrating multiples and the diameter of the primary mirror has been discussed.

적외선 체열촬영시스템의 구현 (Realization of Infrared Thermograph System)

  • 고속촬영이 요구되는 일반적인 적외선 촬영시스템에서는 고속 광주사기에 적외선 광다발을 입력시키기 위해 고가이면서 가공이 어려운 적외선대역 렌즈를 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 고속 촬영이 요구되지 않고 0.1$^{\circ}C$이하의 온도분해능이 크게 요구되는 의료용 적외선 체열촬영 시스템을 저가이면서 가공이 용이한 반사경을 이용한 광학계를 써서 구현하는 방법을 결과와 함께 제시하였다. 적외선 체열촬영시스템은 인체의 표피에서 복사되는 적외선의 양을 계측하여 인체의 표피 온도분포를 2차원 영상으로 보여준다. 구현한 적외선 체열촬영시스템으로 실험한 결과 영상의 화소수를 256$\times$240으로 하고 촬영시간을 4초로 했을 때 온도분해능이 0.1$^{\circ}C$이하인 것을 확인하였다. 인체의 여러 부위에 대한 체열 영상을 시각적으로 잘 보이게 하기 위해 16가지색으로 의사색체화를 하여 예시하였다.

파장가변 광섬유 간섭형 필터 연구개발 (Tunable fiber interference filter for sensors and communication system)

  • 회절손실을 줄이기 위해 별도로 빔의 크기를 제한하기 위한 부품이나 정렬용 부품을 사용하지 않고도 공극이 10um이 상인 새로운 구조의 Fabry-Perot형 파장가변 필터를 제작하였다. 이를 위해서 FP 공진기를 이루는 두 광섬유중 수신용 광섬유의 단면을 1차측 광섬유에서 나오는 Gaussian 빔 파면의 곡률과 같은 곡률의 곡면으로 가공하였다. Cleaved된 광섬유 단면 곡면가공된 광섬유 단면에 고반사율 유전체 코티을 수행한 후 단일모드 광섬유-곡면가공 단일모드 광섬유로 배치한 Fprhdwlsrl형 필터를 제작하였으며, 제작된 필터의 통과파장폭, free spectral range, 삽입손실은 각각 1.47nm, 52nm, 그리고 5.6dB이었다.

  • The conventional study on the laser surface transformation hardening has been carried out with a beam of the specified shape and uniform power-intensity distribution in order to ensure the uniformity of the hardening depth. Two types of beams - the circular gaussian beam and rectangular beam of the uniform power-intensity distribution were used in this study. we were supposed to optimize the process parameters and to compare the hardening results with two optics respectively. As a result, the hardness distribution of the hardened zone was similar in both cases and the hardened phase by the rectangular beam was denser than that by the circular gaussian beam.
