A 9-year old, castrated male Pekingese dog weighing 6.9 kg was referred with one week history of dyspnea, depression, yellow vomiting and abdominal distension. Refractory right lung field opacity was diagnosed as spontaneous right cranial lung lobe torsion (LLT) with collapsed middle lobe on the computed tomography. Four days after diagnosis, right fourth intercostal thoracotomy was performed under propofol-remifentanil based total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). Right cranial and middle lung lobes were twisted together in a clockwise direction. ENDOPATH-ETS-FLEX-45, an articulating endoscopic linear cutting stapler was applied at the hilus and there were no complications after resection. The patient recovered favorably and has been doing well up to one year follow up. Lung lobe torsion is an uncommon condition in small breed dogs, this case report suggests serial lung lobe torsion of cranial lobe followed by middle lobe in small breed dog, and immediately after diagnosis surgical intervention is beneficial to prevent progression of LLT. Furthermore, using self cutting stapling device and TIVA technique will be helpful for lung lobectomy in dogs.
Cultural goods is carrying nature and value above-mentioned a commodity to what a cultural element was commercialized. And it produced for the purpose of manufacture for popular sales and supply, and holding commercial character. Specially, cultural goods of a museum keeps a good memory to a sightseer, and broaden an educational experience, and the source of profit becomes it to a seller a producer. This cultural goods as they all include the artistic historical figurative background that they are displayed directly and got twisted up to collection have background which became a motive. Cultural goods can acquire cultural difference in globalization and have to be based on the soil of cultural heritage, starting around various cultural materials through practical value to a modern life. Internationally, cultural goods using a culture material development have competitiveness of nation as in it. Therefore, Baekje cultural goods need national and positive aid from the government with the customer satisfaction index considering the modern design, an age group, an internal and external commodity as the difficulty of various commodity development and managing museum shop. Furthermore, like overseas museum shop, if we are practically using on-off line, continuous promoting our commodity, and marketing strategy such as a membership system when buy our cultural goods, a special discount event etc., we can contribute to activate local economy as a museum shop when we have responsibility of the function and the part.
PXLM(Phosphor based x-ray light modulator) has a combined structure by phosphor, photoconductor, and liquid crystal and it can realize x-ray image of high resolution in clinical diagnosis area. In this study, we fabricated a photoconductor and investigated electrical and optical properties to confirm application possibility of radiator detector of PXLM structure. As photoconductor, amorphous selenium(a-Se), which is used most in DR(Digital radiography) of direct conversion method, was used and for formation of thin film, it was formed as $20{\mu}m-thick$ by using thermal vacuum evaporation system. For a produced a-Se film, through XRD(X-ray diffraction) and SEM(Scanning electron microscope), we investigated that amorphous structure was uniformly established and through optical measurement, for visible light of 40 $0\sim630nm$, it had absorption efficiency of 95 % and more. After fabricated a-Se film on the top of ITP substrate, hybrid structure was manufactured through forming $Gd_2O_3:Eu$ phosphor of $270{\mu}m-thick$ on the bottom of the substrate. As the result to confirm electrical property of the manufactured hybrid structure, in the case of appling $10V/{\mu}m$, leakage current of $2.5nA/cm^2$ and x-ray sensitivity of $7.31nC/cm^2/mR$ were investigated. Finally, we manufactured PXLM structure combined with hybrid structure and liquid crystal cell of TN(Twisted nematic) mode and then, investigated T-V(Transmission vs. voltage) curve of external light source for induced x-ray energy. PXLM structure showed a similar optical response with T-V curve that common TN mode liquid crystal cell showed according to electric field increase and in appling $50\sim100V$, it showed linear transmission efficiency of $12\sim18%$. This result suggested an application possibility of PXLM structure as radiation detector.
Morphological changes on digestive tract were observed using Flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus to elucidate the early developmental processes. Hatched larvae, ($2.50{\pm}0.14\;mm$ in total length: TL) has not opened its mouth and anus. The digestive tract showed linear tubular form from mouth to anus extending along with yolk. On $7{\sim}8$ days from hatching, the post-larvae, ($5.05{\pm}0.40\;mm$ TL) has developed digestive tract and activated for feeding. The digestive tract expanded into dorsal side, joined to intestine, and the stomach began to develop. The digestive tract was divided into an anterior and posterior region, and began to differentiate. In the post-larvae($6.50{\pm}0.25\;mm$ TL) on $13{\sim}14$ days from hatching, the digestive tract twisted one cycle in the anterior region, the area was expanded. The digestive tract was completely differentiated into oesophagus, anterior intestine, middle intestine, posterior intestine and arranges fundamental structure. In the embryo($12.40{\pm}0.55\;mm$ TL) after 30 days from hatching, stomach became large and could be distinguished from cardia and pyloric parts apparently. The digestive tract developed similar with that of adult flounder showing clear division of stomach, anterior intestine, middle intestine, posterior intestine and rectum. In the embryo($16.15{\pm}0.85\;mm$ TL) after 40 days from hatching, esophagus, pyloric part, anterior intestine, middle intestine, and rectum have largely expanded, and thus the morphological features are somewhot different with those of post-larvae flounder.
The purpose of this study is to closely examine kinematic characteristics by jump phase of Li Xiaopeng motion in horse vaulting and provide the training data. In doing so, as a result of analyzing kinematic variables through 3-dimensional cinematographic using the high-speed video camera to Li Xiaopeng motion first performed at the men's vault competition at the 14th Busan Asian Games, the following conclusion was obtained. 1. It was indicated that at the post-flight, the increase of flight time and height and twisting rotational velocity has a decisive effect on the increase of twist displacement. And Li Xiaopeng motion showed longer flight time and higher flight height than Ropez motion with the same twist displacement of entire movement. Also the rotational displacement of the trunk at peak of COG was much short of $360^{\circ}$(one rotation) but twist displacement showed $606^{\circ}$. Likewise, Li Xiaopeng motion was indicated to concentrate on twist movement in the early flight. 2. It was indicated that at the landing, Li Xiaopeng motion gets the hip to move back, the trunk to stand up and the horizontal velocity of COG to slow down. This is thought to be the performance of sufficient landing, resulting from large security of rotational displacement of airborne and twist displacement. 3. It was indicated that at the board contact, Li Xiaopeng motion made a rapid rotation uprighting the trunk to recover slowing velocity caused by jumping with the horse in the back, and has already twisted the trunk nearly close to $40^{\circ}$ at board contact. Under the premise that elasticity is generated without the change of the feet contacting the board, it will give an aid to the rotation and twist of pre-flight. Thus, in the round-oH phase, the tap of waist according to the fraction and extension of hip joint and arm push is thought to be very important. 4. It was indicated that at the pre-flight, Li Xiaopeng motion showed bigger movement than the techniques of precedented studies rushing to the horse, and overcomes the concern of relatively low power of jump through the rapid rotation of the trunk. Li Xiaopeng motion secured much twist distance, increased rotational distance with the trunk bent forward, resulting in the effect of rushing to the horse. 5. At horse contact, Li Xiaopeng motion makes a short-time contact, and maintains horse take-off angle close to vertical, contributing to the increase of post-flight time and height. This is thought to be resulted from rapid move toward movement direction along with the rotational velocity of trunk rapidly earned prior to horse contact, and little shave of rotation axis according to twist motion because of effective twist in the same direction.
This study was performed to investigate the intestinal parasites (especially cestoda) in the guts of Theragra chalcogramma in Korea. The cestode larvae collected were morphologically observed and measured, and at the same time, microscopical study was done with the section slides of the cestode larvae. They were identified on the basis of the descriptions by Schmidt and Yamaguti. The results obtained in this study are as follows: 1. The cestode larvae were identified as Khawia sinesis, Eulacistorhynchus chiloscyllius, Tentacularia coryphaenga, Pssudonybelinia odontasantha and Nybelinia Zingualis. These are new species reported in Korea. 2. The characteristics of Khawia sinesis are its scolex lacking loculi and broad, fat and fimbriate shape. Its neck is not separated from the body but a little constricted. 3. Eulacistorhynchus chiloscyzzius is characterized by fairly long and acraspedote scolex. The bulbs are long; retractor muscles are attached to bases of the bulbs. The two bothridia are oval or round in shape and lacking posterior notch. The tentacles are long and poeciloacanthus; double chainette present. 4. Tentacularia coryphaenea is characterized by its long craspedote and subcylindrical scolex. The bothridia are separated, without free borders and spinous. The tentacles are short, slender, armed with solid hooks in spirals, similar except the base of tentacle. The tentacle sheaths are not twisted. The bulbs are ellipsoidal. 5. Pseudonybelinia odontacantha is characterized by its craspedote scolex. The tentacles are inserted near anterior margin of bothridia and armed with hooks in spirals ascending left to right. The hooks are similar, throughout tentacle, with feeble curve and provided with a tooth-like protuberance on the ventral side. The bulbs are three times longer than its width. The posterior margins of bothridia have a pair of eversible ciliated pits; or fossettes. 6. Nybelinia lingualis is characterized by its short and craspedote scolex. The bothridia are separated, with free boarders. The tentacles are cylindrical, armed with solid and similar hooks in quincunxes.
M1 plants which were produced from seed soaking in chemical mutagen, EMS or NaN$_3$, appeared wide morphorogical variations such as dwarf, albino, twisted leaf, white streaked leaf, and purpled stem. In mutants of reproductive organs, there were monoecious plants such as female-flower plant and male-flower plant, multiple spikes, and steriled plants among M1 plants. Also, barren stalk was increased significantly in M1 plants. Ear bagging at ear initiation stage prevented seed set on cob in normal plants. In spite of ear bagging, M1 plants which had cobs with seed set was 3.9-11.2% of stalks developed from seeds soaking with mutagens, but only three or four kernels could be matured on a cob. Ear bagging after mutagen injection into initiating ear produced 5.1-10% in cobs with seed set, but only 1.7-6.3 kernels could be matured. Cobs removed silk at four hours after artificial pollination increased the rate of cobs with seed set to 27%. Microscopic observation confirmed that ontogeny of kernels matured from ear bagging and mutagen treatment would be both adventitious and diplosporous apomictic reproduction. Chromosome set of M2 seedling was found to be diploid type in chromosomal counting of root tip. As M$_2$ plants showed an uniform appearence within each lines and their CV of plant height were ranged 4-6% in each lines, we concluded that they were apomictic progeny. But we could not find any marker traits combined with apomixis.
To determine the effect of base curve and diameter of soft contact lenses on the fitting under the various corneal curvature, the model eyes which was made of either stainless steel or ordinary wood, were used as the substitutes for human eyes. The evaluations of fit of the soft contact lenses on both wood model eyes and human eyes were found to be very similar to each other. All the contact lenses except very thin ones became flat after fit on the stainless steel model eyes because the model eye could not preserve enough moisture to hold the edge of contact lenses on the steel ball's surface. The relationships between the base curves of contact lenses and radii of cornea for the optimum (normal) fit were measured as follows : corneal curvature (C.C)<7.6 mm : base curve(B.C) 8.4 mm, C.C 7.6~7.8 mm : B.C 8.4~8.5 mm. C.C 7.8~8.1 mm : B.C 8.6 mm. It is concluded that larger base curve is required for the eyes which have abnormal bulge on its cornea. It is found that very thin soft contact lenses can be easily twisted or folded regardless of moisture content when they were fit on the relatively dry eyes(corneas).
This study suggested that the table of CT-simulator and the laser alignment system using diagnostic CT scanner have an efficient method for improvement in alignment between the planned target center of traverse image with CT scanner. It was conducted on the daily QA when presented in the AAPM TG66 with correcting the laser alignment system using geometric trigonometric functions and investigated the effectiveness of correction methods as compared with those before and after correction. Before correction error was 3.82mm between the planned target center of image, the table longitudinal axis was twisted with 0.436o. The laser alignment system using geometric trigonometric functions in after correction was satisfied with tolerance limits of ${\pm}2mm$ when occurred about 0.7mm in errors between the planned target center. The table correction to satisfy the geometric accuracy is very inefficient over against the time and economic loss as well as technical limits in the case of application as only radiation therapy associated with CT-simulator with diagnostic CT scanner in use. But, the method which corrects the laser alignment system is economic and relatively simple with possibility of getting well geometric accuracy and we suppose that it is efficient method for applying in the clinic.
Poly[3-octylthiophene-co-3-(4-fluorophenyl)thiophene]s were synthesized in 2:1, 1:1, and 1:2 mole ratios, and organic electroluminescent devices were fabricated using the copolymers. The opto-electrical properties of the copolymers were studied by PL, EL spectra, I-V, and V-L curves of the organic electroluminescent devices in conjunction with the energy band diagrams which were obtained from the cyclic voltammogram and the electronic absorption spectra. The LUMO energy level of P(OT/FPT)(1:1) is the lowest as -3.35 eV. In the copolymers P(OT/FPT)(2:1) and P(OT/FPT)(1:1) the ${\lambada}_{max}$ in the PL and EL spectra red-shifted as the mole ratio of fluorophenyl group increased while in P(OT/FPT)(1:2) it showed a blue-shift. This indicates that the backbone chain is twisted due to the steric hinderance of the fluorophenyl group leading to shorter ${\pi}$-conjugation length. P(OT/FPT)(1:1) showed the highest EL intensity and the highest power efficiency among the three copolymers. In P(OT/FPT)(1:2) the roughness of the film surface causes unusually high local leakage current leading to the low efficiency of electroluminescence.
