This paper concerns the development of NC programming system TIG (Turning with Interactive Graphics) with interactive graphics for turning operation. The system cosists of the processor, the post-processor and the system-user interface. Different from previous segment contour based NC graphic programming systems, the frliability and efficiencyof programming is realized by using Boolean operation with block unit based ICONs for the geometry definition. The tool motion can be also displayed on the screen together with the part contour. The system calculate automatically the number of passes based on the user specified cutting conditions.
This paper introduces a novel and fast synthesizing method for 3D motions of quadrupedal animals that uses only a small set of motion capture data. Unlike human motions, animal motions are relatively difficult to capture. Also, it is a challenge to synthesize continuously changing animal motions in real time because animals have various gait types according to their speed. The algorithm proposed herein, however, is able to synthesize continuously varying motions with proper limb configuration by using only one single cyclic animal motion per gait type based on the biologically driven Froude number. During the synthesis process, each gait type is automatically determined by its speed parameter, and the transition motions, which have not been entered as input, are synthesized accordingly by the optimized asynchronous motion blending technique. At the start time, given the user's control input, the motion path and spinal joints for turning are adjusted first and then the motion is stitched at any speed with proper transition motions to synthesize a long stream of motions.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of kinematics of lower extremities and trunk in stance phase of walking according to turning direction. Methods: Ten university students (five male, five female) who were in their 20s (mean age was 20.6 years old) participated in this study. Participants did not have participants did not have any problem with skeletal muscular system. We used the "Qualisys motion capture system" for analysis of trunk and lower extremity movement in stance phase of walking according to turning direction. We collected data while subjects walked a distance of 10 m, and at the 6 m line, subjects were required to turn to the left side and the right leg was positioned in stance phase and the left leg was positioned in swing. For data analysis, the SPSS for Windows ver. 20.0 statistics program was used in performance of one way analysis of variance according to turning direction. Results: Significant difference of trunk and lower extremities was observed for turning direction according to walking cycle (p<0.05). Upper trunk movement showed a greater increase at three dimensions than lower trunk, and in heel off phase, pelvic movement showed a greater increase than lower trunk (p<0.05). In 45 degree and 90 degrees of turning direction, all movements of trunk and lower extremities were significantly different among three events of stance phase (p<0.05). Conclusion: We suggest that three-dimensional movement analysis of trunk and lower extremities during turning movement was very important in order to indicate increasing balance or walking ability for people with impaired movement or walking.
This study proposes a method to determine the effective angular velocity of each motor of a specific four-rows tracked vehicle (FRTV) in order to follow a given turning radius. The configuration of the four-rows tracked vehicle is introduced, and its dynamics analysis model is built using the DAFUL commercial software. The soil has been assumed to be hard ground, and the friction force between the ground and the tracked links is calculated using the Coulomb friction model. This paper uses a simulation to show that the error in the position increased with respect to the angle of the curvatures, so a method is proposed to compensate for the error in the motion of the motors. Various simulations are then carried out to verify the proposed formulation. The effects of the soil characteristics and the driving velocity will be further investigated in future studies.
This paper presents the static and dynamic measurements for the strength and motion characteristics as well as the improved procedures to assess strength of wheel loaders. Two scenarios for static measurement were decided by which cylinder was actuating. The dynamic measurement was performed for two types of motion, that is, simple reciprocation of the working devices and actual working motion including traveling, digging and dumping. The measured items were stresses, cylinder pressures and strokes. Stress induced by bucket working showed higher level than that by boom working. The measured cylinder speeds were relatively superior to the design speeds. Working stress histories were thought to be closer to static rather than dynamic. A fully assembled FE model was prepared for structural analysis. In this paper, a more simple method was suggested to avoid nonlinearity caused by heave of rear frame under digging forces. Also how brake affected on structural behavior and digging force was examined closely in relation with tire pressure. It was confirmed that the overall stress level of wheel loader during turning traveling with loaded bucket was far lower than the yield stress of material.

The purpose of this study is to visually confirm on variation of temperature changes according to the basic of Taekgyoen by using infrared rays camera and to obtain difference of temperature distribution according to the warm up procedure. We selected randomly two Taekgyeon players, and recorded twice continuously their actions of three basic motions of Taekgyeon. In other to obtain effect of warm up procedure, we recorded again their actions including warm-up motions. Four measuring points on the body were selected in each motion considering the error on continuous recoding. Temperature distributions of the before and after warming up procedure were analyzed at two measuring point. Temperature distributions of skin of players body in two cases are shown a similar tendency. It can be predicted that the parts of large physical movement result in the large changes of temperature according to the warm up motion.
As wearable technology is becoming more common and a part of our lives, there have been many efforts to offer various smart services with wearable devices, such as motion recognition, safety of driving, and so on. In this paper, we present a method that exploits the 9-axis inertial sensors embedded in a smartwatch to identify whether the user is a vehicle driver or not and to estimate the steering wheel turning direction in the vehicle. The system consists of three components: (i) position recognition, (ii) driver recognition, and (iii) steering-wheel turning detection components. We have developed a prototype system for detecting user's motion with Arduino boards and IMU sensors. Our experiments show high accuracy in recognizing the driver and in estimating the wheel rotation angle. The average experimental error was $11.77^{\circ}$ which is small enough to perceiver the turning direction of steering-wheel.
Objective:The purpose of this study is to identify motion patterns for cellular phone and propose a method to identify motion patterns using a motion capture system. Background: In a smart device, the introduction of tangible interaction that can provide new experience to user plays an important role for improving user's emotional satisfaction. Firstly, user's motion patterns have to be identified to provide an interaction type using user's gesture or motion. Method: In this study, a method to identify motion patterns using a motion capture system and user's motion patterns for using cellular phone was studied. Twenty-two subjects participated in this study. User's motion patterns were identified through motion analysis. Results: Typical motion patterns for shaking, shaking left and right, shaking up and down, and turning for using cellular phone were identified. Velocity and acceleration for each typical motion pattern were identified, too. Conclusion: A motion capture system could be effectively used to identify user's motion patterns for using cellular phone. Application: Typical motion patterns can be used to develop a tangible user interface for handheld device such as smart phone and a method to identify motion patterns using motion analysis can be applied in motion patterns identification of smart device.

DTM (Diamond Turning Machine) is using for ultra precision manufacturing such as, plastic lens die or aspherical optics. This study is on a design of precision 2-axis stage for DTM. We designed and manufactured a back lash free stage using different weights and measured the positioning accuracy using Interferometer. Also, the 2-D moving accuracy is measured using the high magnification CCD technique. Then, the stage is tested with the machining of spherical and aspherical lens in a DTM with air bearing spindle. It was shown that the back lash free stage is effective for improving the positioning accuracy. Also, positioning control errors in motion control board were able to be found using the proposed stages system.

This paper presents a design method of turning device for robotic assembly based on the verification of a instability for a base assembly. To derive the instability, first we inference collision free assembly directions by extracting separable directions for the part, and calculate the separability which gives informations as to how the part can be dasily separated. Using the result, we determine the instability evaluated by summing the all separabilites of each component part in base assembly. The proposed method gives a design guidance of turning device by evaluating a degree of the motion istability for the base assembly in flexible manufacturing application. An example is given to illustrate the concepts and procedure of the proposed scheme.
