고속 무선 통신을 위한 비선형 MMSE 검출기를 갖는 터보 처리 다중 입출력 시스템 (A Turbo Processing MIMO System with Non-Linear MMSE Detector for High-Speed Wireless Communications)

  • 본 논문에서는 터보 처리 MIMO 시스템에서 시스템의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 기존의 선형 MMSE 검출기를 기반으로 간단한 비선형 MMSE 검출기를 유도하고 가우시안 근사화와 비선형 MMSE 검출기를 갖는 새로운 터보 처리 MIMO 시스템을 제안하였다. 터보 부호를 사용하는 터보 처리 MIMO 시스템에서 기존의 시스템과 제안된 시스템의 프레임 오율 성능을 살펴보면 1 % FER을 기준으로는 송신과 수신안테나 수를 각각 N과 M이라 할 때, M=N=4인 경우 제안된 시스템은 기존의 시스템보다 약 0.5 dB의 성능 향상을 갖고, M=N=8인 경우 제안된 시스템은 기존의 시스템보다 약 0.4 dB의 성능 향상을 갖는다. 또한 평균 외부 반복 횟수를 살펴보면 제안된 시스템이 기존의 시스템보다 낮은 수준을 보여주었다. 제안된 시스템의 비선형 MMSE 검출기가 수신신호의 측정값에 근거하여 부호화된 비트의 연 출력을 결정함으로써 심볼 값을 판정하는데 필요한 영역에서의 불확실한 부분을 줄였기 때문에 성능이 향상될 수 있었다.

이동통신 시스템에서 MAP기반 터보 부호의 복호에 관한 연구 (A Study on Iterative MAP-Based Decoding of Turbo Code in the Mobile Communication System)

  • 최근의 이동통신 시스템에서 오류 정정 부호화 방식으로 사용되는 터보 코드의 성능은 부호기에 내재되어 부호의 자유 거리 결정에 큰 영향을 미치는 인터리버와 복호기에서 수행되는 반복 복호에 의한 것이다. 하지만 우수한 성능을 얻기 위해 수신과정에서 많은 지연시간이 요구되는데 이는 주로 인터리버의 크기에 의존하게 된다. 또한 터보 코드는 페이딩 채널 상에서도 신뢰성 있는 강력한 코딩 기법으로 알려져, 최근 ITU 등에서 IMT-2700과 같은 차세대 이동 통신에서 채널 코드의 표준으로 채택되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 복잡도는 2배로 증가하나 성능을 개선시킨 병렬 구조의 4-New 터보 복호기를 제안하고, 차세대 무선 멀티미디어 통신에서 실시간 음성 및 비디오 서비스를 제공 시 복호 지연시간을 단축시키기 위해 가변 복호 방법을 이용하여 AWGN과 페이딩 채널 환경에서의 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 통해 성능 분석을 하였다.

  • 디지털 통신 시스템에서 오류 정정 부호화 방식으로 사용되는 Turbo Code의 성능은 부호기에 내재되어 부호의 자유 거리 결정에 큰 영향을 미치는 인터리버와 복호기에서 수행되는 반복 복호에 의해 결정된다. 하지만 우수한 성능을 얻기 위해 수신 과정에서 많은 지연 시간이 요구되는데 이는 주로 인터리버의 크기에 의존하게 된다. 또한 Turbo Code는 페이딩 채널 상에서도 신뢰성 있는 강력한 코딩 기법으로 알려져, 최근 ITU 등에서 IMT­2000과 같은 차세대 이동 통신에서 채널 코드의 표준으로 채택되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 블럭 인터리버를 변형한 인터리버와 MAP(Maximum A Posteriori)알고리듬을 이용한 병렬 구조의 터보 복호기를 제안하였다. 무선 멀티미디어 통신에서 실시간 음성 및 비디오 서비스를 제공할 때 CDMA 환경에서의 AWGN과 페이딩 채널에 대해 가변 복호방법을 이용하여 감소된 복호지연의 관점에서 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 성능 분석을 하고 기존의 다른 방법과 비교하였다.

원심 터보홴 설계용 프로그램의 개발 및 응용에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Development and Application of a Design Program for Centrifugal Turbo Fan)

  • This paper introduces the design method of the centrifugal turbo fan and the process of developing the design program of it. The developed design program confirmed the applicability by experimental performance data. Here, we proposed new velocity coefficients and considered various losses such as impeller inlet loss, vane passage flow loss, casing pressure loss, recirculation loss power, and disk friction loss power. Especially, the inlet and outlet widths of the impeller were newly determined by reflecting the experimental results. As a result, this fan design program shows a good performance result regardless of the types of impeller and is expected to be a very useful design tool.

Double Binary Turbo Coded Data Transmission of STBC UWB Systems for U-Healthcare Applications

  • In this paper, we analyze and simulate performance of space time block coded (STBC) binary pulse amplitude modulation-direct sequence (BPAM-DS) ultra-wideband (UWB) systems with double binary turbo code in indoor environments for various ubiquitous healthcare (u-healthcare) applications. Indoor wireless channel is modeled as a modified Saleh and Valenzuela (SV) model proposed as a UWB indoor channel model by the IEEE 802.15.SG3a in July 2003. In the STBC encoding process, an Alamouti algorithm for real-valued signals is employed because UWB signals have the type of real signal constellation. It is assumed that the transmitter has knowledge about channel state information. From simulation results, it is shown that the STBC scheme does not have an influence on improving bit error probability performance of the BPAM-DS UWB systems. It is also confirmed that the results of this paper can be applicable for u-healthcare applications.

Reverse Engineering and 3D Printing of Turbine Housing for Tank Diesel Turbo Engine

  • The tank uses a twin turbo diesel engine equipped with two turbocharger systems for high output. The main component of the turbocharger system is the turbine housing through which the exhaust flows. Turbine housing is manufactured through a sand casting process, taking into account the shape and material characteristics according to the environmental conditions in which it is used. Currently, turbine housing is imported, and local production is necessary. In this study, basic research was conducted to localize the turbine housing of a tank diesel turbo engine. Reverse engineering and finite element analysis of the imported turbine housing were performed. The prototype of the turbine housing was printed using FDM and PBF 3D printers. The prototype of the turbine housing printed with an FDM 3D printer has an overall appearance similar to 3D modeling, but the printed surface of the whorl part is rough. The prototype printed with the PBF 3D printer is completely identical to the 3D modeling, including the whorl part.

  • In this paper, adaptive equalizer receiver for a turbo code direct sequence code division multiple access (DSCDMA) by using least mean square (LMS) adaptive algorithm is presented. The proposed adaptive equalizer is using soft output of decision feedback adaptive equalizer (DFE) to examines the output of the equalizer and the Log- maximum a posteriori (Log-MAP) algorithm for the turbo decoding process of the system. The objective of the proposed equalizer is to minimize the bit error rate (BER) of the data due to the disturbances of noise and intersymbol interference (ISI)phenomenon on the channel of the DS-CDMA digital communication system. The computer program simulation results shown that the proposed soft output decision feedback adaptive equalizer provides a good BER than the others one such as conventional adaptive equalizer, infinite impulse response adaptive equalizer.

위성 통신에서의 반복 복호 기법 (Iterative Decoding far a Satellite Broadcasting Channel)

  • In this paper, the network performance of a turbo coded optical code division multiple access (CDMA) system with cross-layer, which is between physical and network layers, concept is analyzed and simulated. We consider physical and MAC layers in a cross-layer concept. An intensity-modulated/direct-detection (IM/DD) optical system employing pulse position modulation (PPM) for satellite broadcasting communications is considered. In order to increase the system performance, turbo codes composed of parallel concatenated convolutional codes (PCCCs) is utilized. The network performance is evaluated in terms of bit error probability (BEP). From the simulation results, it is demonstrated that turbo coding offers considerable coding gain with reasonable encoding and decoding complexity. Also, it is confirmed that the performance of such an optical CDMA network can be substantially improved by increasing the interleaver length and the number of iterations in the decoding process. The results of this paper can be applied to implement the satellite broadcasting communications.

  • The radial turbine has been successfully applied to the systems which request relatively small output compared with the axial turbine, and has low manufacturing cost due to it's small size and simple structure. Recently, the researches on the development and the efficiency maximization of the radial turbine are in progress corresponding with the trend toward miniaturization in turbo machinery and the development of small dispersed power generation systems. The radial turbine is to be applied to our turbo refrigerator of which engine speed is 26,000 rpm and turbine efficiency is $88\%$. Also, as a heat exchanger is accepted instead of a combustor in our turbo refrigerator, the design of radial turbine has been performed to be appropriate to the circumstance of low temperature air, not high temperature combustor gas, into the turbine inlet . This radial turbine is being developed in consideration with not only the aero-dynamic performance but also the simplification of manufacturing and integration, and the durability at operating condition. This paper refer to the performance evaluation about the radial turbine design by comparison with consulting from Russia and the our evaluation about various design factors which are considered in aero-dynamic design process.
