PID control is windely used to control stable processes, however, its application to integrating processes is less common. In this paper we proposed a simple PID controller tuning method for integrating processes with time delay to meet a stable specification. With the proposed PID tuning method, we can obtain stable integrating processes using PD controller in inner feedback loop and a loop transfer function with desired stable specification. This guarantees bout robustness and performance. Simulation examples are given to show the good performance of the proposed tuning method to other methods.

In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy controller that founded by the general feedback control with the new adjustment method when it's tuning. The general feedback controller is operated that supply to the plant making the control input multiplying the appropriate gain of controller on the error between the output of the plant and the reference, But proposed feedback fuzzy controller consist of three loops. The inner loop consists of plant and an ordinary feedback controller. The fuzzy inference of controller performed by the outer loops, which is composed of a fuzzy modeling and inference. We can observe that the output of control system converges toward the reference. Also, the behaviour of feedback fuzzy system is converged from the transient. That is, we verified that designed fuzzy controllers was adapted effectively through the experiments in the hydraulic motor system using floating point DSP processor.
There have been many problems due to deformation in industry field. Especially, it is severe in parts with small size and thin thickness and in products that must have excellent airtightness and anti-noise. The countermeasures for this deformation in field have mainly been dependent on the rule of trial and error by operator's experience because of productivities. Systematic study about this product with deformation is also insufficient that deformation is complex problem with shape, size, material of product, joining method and conditions, etc.. It is efficient to apply CAE technique without influence on productivity to this problem. There is, however much difference between the result analyzed by CAE and appearances in working field because of the insufficiency of communication between simulator and worker and of sensing data for boundary condition in analysis. In this study, to solve this deformation problem, we intend to make a simulation model that is adapted from working conditions by tuning and feedback between sensing data and simulation results. This paper include temperature monitoring and make a heat transfer model using sensing data in product as previous step for deformation analysis. The heat transfer analysis of shrinkage fit process is considerably difficult due to contact heat transfer between case and core. To solve this contact problem, gap element is used in present study.
This paper presents a longitudinal acceleration controller that can be applied to real vehicles (nonlinear and time-varing systems) with only a simple experiment regardless of the type of vehicle and the control interface structure. The controller consists of a feedforward term for fast response, a zero-throttle acceleration compensation term, and a feedback term (P gain) to compensate for errors in the feedforward term, and another feedback term (I gain) to respond to disturbances such as slope. In order to easily apply it to real vehicles, there are only two tuning parameters, feedforward terms of throttle and brake control. And the remaining parameters can be calculated immediately when the two parameters are decided. The tuning procedure is also unified so that it can be quickly and easily applied to various vehicles. The performance of the controller was evaluated using MATLAB/Simulink and Truksim's European Ben model. In addition, the controller was successfully implemented to 3 medium-sized vehicle (HMC Solati), which is composed of different control interface characteristic. Vehicle driving performance was evaluated on the test track and on the urban roads in Siheung and Seoul.

We have obtained a topographical image nondestructively for a Cu thin film in liquid using a near-field scanning microwave microscope (NSMM), its operating frequency was 3.5 to 5.5 GHz. We have kept a distance of 10 nm between tip and sample using a quartz tuning fork shear force feedback system. As an end of tip was attached to one prong of the quartz tuning fork has a length of 2 mm, the only tip of tuning fork was immersed in water tank. A loss cause by evaporation in water tank is regulated with actuator was connected to a supplementary tank. Moreover, using a revise program of LabView, we could increase the accuracy of a measurement in liquid.
We attached a fiber tip on the branch of a quartz crystal oscillator in order to make a feedback control system for near field optical microscope. The electrical impedance of the quartz crystal oscillator depends on the distance between the surface of the sample and the tip caused by the surface damping. Using this method, we can directly monitor the distance between the sample and the tip without inserting extra beam which might give extra optical noise. We characterize the XY scanning resolution and the amplitude of the vibrating tip and the Z-dependent decay of the evanescent wave.

This paper describes a Web search optimization study that investigates both static and dynamic tuning methods for optimizing system performance. We extended the conventional fusion approach by introducing the "dynamic tuning" process with which to optimize the fusion formula that combines the contributions of diverse sources of evidence on the Web. By engaging in iterative dynamic tuning process, where we successively fine-tuned the fusion parameters based on the cognitive analysis of immediate system feedback, we were able to significantly increase the retrieval performance. Our results show that exploiting the richness of Web search environment by combining multiple sources of evidence is an effective strategy.
As a vehicle moves on multiple equal-span beams at constant speed, the running vehicle would be subjected to repetitive excitations from the beam vibrations under it. Once the exciting frequency caused by the vibrating beams coincides with any of the vehicle's frequencies, resonance would take place on the vehicle. A similar resonance phenomenon occurs on a beam subject to sequential moving loads with identical axle-intervals. To reduce both resonant phenomena of a vehicle moving on guideway girders, this study proposed an additional feedback controller based the condensed virtual dynamic absorber (C-VDA) scheme. This condensation scheme has the following advantages: (1) the feedback tuning gains required to adapt the control currents or voltages are directly obtained from the tuning forces of the VDA; (2) the condensed VDA scheme does not need additional DoFs of the absorber to control the vibration of the maglev-vehicle/guideway system. By decomposing the maglev vehicle-guideway coupling system into two sub-systems (the moving vehicle and the supporting girders), an incremental-iterative procedure associated with the Newmark method is presented to solve the two sets of sub-system equations. From the present studies, the proposed C-VDA scheme is a feasible approach to suppress the interaction response for a maglev vehicle in resonance moving on a series of guideway girders.

In this paper, we describe the synthesis of robust and non-fragile $H^{\infty}$ state feedback controllers for linear systems with affine parameter uncertainties, as well as a static state feedback controller with poly topic uncertainty. The sufficient condition of controller existence, the design method of robust and non-fragile $H^{\infty}$ static state feedback controller with fuzzy compensator, and the region of controllers that satisfies non-fragility are presented. We show that the resulting controller guarantees the asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed loop system in spite of controller gain variations within a resulted polytopic region.

A novel control method with automatic tuning of PID controller parameters has been developed for efficient regulation of dissolved oxygen concentration in fed-batch fermentations of Escherichia coli. Agitation speed and oxygen partial pressure in the inlet gas stream were chosen to be the manipulated variables. A heuristic reasoning allowed improved tuning decisions from the supervision of control performance indices and it coule obviate the needs for process assumptions or disturbance patterns. The control input consisted of feedback and feedforword parts. The feedback part was determined by PID control and the feedforward part is determined from the feed rate. The proportional gain was updated on-line by a set of heuristics rules based on the supervision of three performance indices. These indices were output error covariance, the average value of output error, and input covariance, which were calculated on-line using a moving window. The integral and derivative time constants were determined from the period of output response. The specific growth rate was maintained at a low level to avoid acetic acid accumulation and thus to achieve a high cell density. The specific growthe rate was estimated from the carbon dioxide evolution rate. In fed-batch fermentation, the simutaneous control of dissolved oxygen concentration (at 0.2; fraction of saturated value) and specific growth rate (at 0.25$hr^{-1}$) was satisfactory for the entire culture period in spite of the changes in the feed rate and the switching of control input.
