  • TiO$_2$는 광촉매로서 자외선이 조사되면 여기상태로 되어 광활성을 나타내므로, 휘발성 유기화합물(VOCs), 악취, 중금속 물질 등을 제어하는데 널리 사용되고 있다(Lee and Biswas, 1998). TiO$_2$는 기상 및 액상 등 여러 가지 방법으로 제조되고 있는데(Morooka et al., 1989), 본 연구에서는 기상 방법의 하나인 전기가열 튜브로를 이용하여 TiOs 입자를 제조하였다. 즉, TTIP(titanium isopropoxide, Ti[OCH($CH_3$)$_2$]$_4$)와 공기를 전기가열 튜브로의 d열원을 이용하여 반응시키는 방법을 사용하였다. TiO2의 광활성에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 전기로의 온도, TTIP의 초기 농도, carrier gas의 유량, 산화시키기 위한 산소의 양, 수분의 양 등이 있다. (중략)

Collection Efficiency of Nano Particles by Electrostatic Precipitator using Dielectric Barrier Discharge (배리어 유전체 방전을 이용한 전기 집진부에서의 나노 입자 집진 효율)

  • Although dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) in air has been applied to a wider range of aftertreatment processes for HAPs (Hazardous Air Pollutants), due to its high electron density and energy, its potential use as precharging dust particles is not well known. In this work, we measured size distributions of bimodal aerosol particles and estimated collection efficiency of the particles by an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) using DBD as particle charger. To examine the particle collection with DBD charger, nano size particles of NaCl(20∼100nm) and DOS (50∼500nm) were generated by a tube furnace and an atomizer, respectively. For experimental conditions of 60㎐, 11㎸ and 60 lpm, the particle collection efficiency for the hybrid system was over 85%, based on the number of particles captured.

  • RDF(Refuse-Derived Fuel) is a fuel of pelletized form made of combustible solid wastes and can not only be used as alternative energy to fossil fuel but also solve troubles in thermal uses of incinerator. As the first stage for obtaining elementary data required to develop criteria of raw materials appropriate to RDF combustion facilities actively spread recently in Korea, preliminary experiments were conducted on CO, SOx, NOx and HCl production and reduction characteristics in combustion of RDF. RDF samples weighing 2~3 g per a sample were manufactured in a lab-scale way and combustion tests of RDF were carried out in electric furnace with quartz tube of 50 mm inside diameter.

Powder Characteristics of $n-TiO_2$ Powder Synthesized by Chemical Vapor Synthesis (화학기상합성에 의해 제조된 $n-TiO_2$ 분말의 분말특성)

  • The preparation of $n-TiO_2$ powder by the Chemical Vapor Synthesis process (CVS) was studied using the liquid metal organic precursor (TTIP). The residence time and the collection methods were considered as main processing variables through the experiments. The CVS equipment consisted of a micropump and a flashvaporizer, a tube furnace and a tubular collection device. The synthesis was performed at $1000^{\circ}C$ with various sets of collection zone. The residence time and the total system pressure were controlled in the range of 3~20 ms and 10 mbar, respectively. Nitrogen adsorption, X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy were used to determine particle size, specific surface area and crystallographic structure. The grain size of the as-prepared $n-TiO_2$ powder was in the range of 2~8 nm for all synthesis parameters and the powder exhibited only little agglomeration. The relationship between particle characteristics and the processing variables is reviewed based on simple growth model.

  • In this study, effect of temperature and time on melt-out of 25wt% Al-alloyed ductile iron has been investigated. The oxidation tests were carried out in a tube furnace at $800^\circC$, $930^\circC$, and $1000^\circC$ for lh, 5h, 10h, 50h. The microstructure, microhardness, and $Al_2O_3$ layer of oxidation-treated 25wt% Al-alloyed ductile iron samples (10 x 10 x 10 mm) were investigated. Phase identification was performed by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and EDS. The oxidation-treated 25wt% Al-alloyed ductile iron samples at $930^\circC$ for lh, 5h, 10h and KS GCD 500 were used for melt-out test in an Al alloy melt. The melt-out test results showed that oxidation tested sample at $930^\circC$ for 5h which on the whole forms $2-3\mum$ $Al_2O_3$ layer showed lowest melt-out depth. It was observed showed that appropriate Al203 layer can affect melt-out behaviors.

Oxidation Kinetics of Pitch Based Carbon Fibers

  • High modulus pitch based carbon fibers (HM) were exposed to isothermal oxidation using tube furnace in carbon dioxide gas to study the oxidation kinetics under the temperature of $800-1100^{\circ}C$. The kinetic equation $f=1-{\exp}(-at^b)$ was introduced and the constant b was obtained in the range of 1.02~1.42. The oxidation kinetics were evaluated by the reaction-controlling regime (RCR) depending upon the apparent activation energies with the conversion increasing from 0.2 to 0.8. The activation energies decrease from 24.7 to 21.0 kcal/mole with the conversion increasing from 0.2 to 0.8, respectively. According to the RCR, the reaction was limited by more diffusion controlling regime for the HM fibers with the conversion increasing. Therefore, it seems that the oxidation which is under the diffusion controlling regime takes place continuously from the skin to the core of the fiber.

  • Reverse annealing was observed in $P^+/B^+$ ion shower doped poly-Si upon activation annealing. Phosphorous or boron was implanted by ion shower doping using a source gas mixture of $PH_3/H_2$ or $B_2H_6/H_2$. Activation annealing was conducted using a tube furnace in the temperature ranges from $350^{\circ}C$ to $650^{\circ}C$. Hall measurement revealed that reverse annealing begins at different annealing temperatures for poly-Si implanted with P and B, respectively. It was observed that reverse annealing starts at $550^{\circ}C$$ in $P^+$ ion shower doped poly-Si, while at $350^{\circ}C$ in the case of B-doping.

  • 현재의 발전소 내부에 가동 중인 열교환기 배관 라인의 Clinker Monitoring System은 초고온의 열교환기 내부의 벽면 및 배관라인의 클링커 상태를 감시하는 시스템을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 열교환기 내부의 상태를 감시하기 위하여 초고온에 견딜 수 있고 회전이 가능한 장치를 열교환기 내부에 투입하여 회전 가능한 장치를 통하여 원격으로 영상을 전송하도록 하여 클링커 상태를 영상으로 모니터링 하여 열교환기 내부의 상태를 감시 관찰 분석할 수 있는 시스템을 구성하였다. 본 논문에서는 발전설비의 열교환기 내부의 클링커 상태를 모니터링 할 수 있도록 회전 가능한 렌즈 튜브와 보호용 냉각 시스템을 추가된 통합 모니터링 시스템을 제기하고자 한다.

  • CdS thin films were fabricated by rf magnetron sputter technique, and annealed in tube furnace using vacuum evaporated $CdCl_2$ layer, In addition, effects of the thickness of $CdCl_2$ layer and the annealing temperature on structural and optical properties of CdS films were investigated. The heat treatment process was carried out by heating the sample in air at $350-500^{\circ}C$ for 20 minute.
