This study examines research themes, the relationship with other disciplines of Library and Information Science in other to analyze general research trends in the field of Library and Information Science. The Methods used for the study is subject analysis of the general articles and citation analysis by correspondence analysis of SPSS. This study was done to apprehend the general research trends of Library and Information Science in result, most researchers have studied on library related information science. in the future research trends is forecasting to computer-related study.

The objectives of this study are to examine changes in research on library marketing promotion from its introduction to the present using domestic journals carrying research papers on library marketing, to forecast research trends in the future, and to provide basic information for supporting future studies on subjects related to library marketing. There were a total of 3,951 papers published through the journals in the area of library and information science including 'The Journal of the Korean Society for Library and Information Science', 'The Journal of the Korea Biblia Society for Library and Information Science', 'The Journal of the Korean Library and Information Science Society', and 'The Journal of the Korean Society for Information Management' from their first issues to the present. These papers were searched using selected keywords, and after redundant papers and those not related to library marketing were excluded, 359 papers were sampled for this study and analyzed from different aspects. Findings derived from this study, with regard to trends in research paper publishing by year, with regard to trends in research paper publishing by institution, with regard to trends in research paper publishing by author, with regard to trends in research paper publishing by area, and with regard to trends in research paper publishing by library type.

The purpose of this article is to give the consideration to possible future research trends and methodological trends of library and information science in Korea. In order to do that, it reviews 10 research papers that are associated with research trends and methodological trends in library and information science and have been published since 1990 in Korea. These 10 papers are divided by three groups for the analysis. The results show that relatively new and various research methods as well as traditional ones should be provided to library and information science. In addition. the research-based knowledge for the library and information science professionals and research method standards for them should be developed.

This study is to firstly Investigate a definition and contents of library science in North Korea and then, based on it, to suggest subject provinces of library science in North Korea. Also, secondly it is to find out journal articles of related fields in library science among journals produced in Kim Il Sung University and to analyze the research contents, characteristics, and research trends of library science in North Korea.

While the body of research on metadata has grown substantially, there has been a lack of systematic analysis of the field of metadata. In this study, we attempt to fill this gap by examining metadata literature spanning the past 20 years. With the combination of a text mining technique, topic modeling, and network analysis, we analyzed 2,713 scholarly papers on metadata published between 1995 and 2014 and identified main topics and trends in metadata research. As the result of topic modeling, 20 topics were discovered and, among those, the most prominent topics were reviewed in detail. In addition, the changes over time in the topic composition, in terms of both the relative topic proportions and the structure of topic networks, were traced to find past and emerging trends in research. The results show that a number of core themes in metadata research have been established over the past decades and the field has advanced, embracing and responding to the dynamic changes in information environments as well as new developments in the professional field.

The utmost intention of this work is to identify various field areas which are most prevalent in library and information science education. The study also denotes the rate of tendency on the rapid growth and development of research production among information specialists in Bangladesh. In order to carry out the study, an extensive literature review was carefully done to collect the basic elements of research patterns. It is noted that in the period of 1980-2016, 200 articles were published in library and information science by Bangladeshi researchers in 62 journals. In this article a total of 200 articles were reviewed. The result of the present study shows that the ratio of female authors had fewer contributions than male authors did. The majority of articles were published from the United Kingdom. The study also shows that the largest numbers of articles (19 papers, 9.50%) were published in the Social Science Journal of the University of Rajshahi from Bangladesh. The paper also shows that about 71.50% of papers have been cited while 28.50% of papers did not receive any citation. The present research might be helpful for revealing the country's research trends in library and information science. However, this study may also inspire development of a subject-based indigenous database and can act as an important device for research scholars.

The results of this study are as follows: The average yearly dissertations: 38.5 pieces; the year published the largest number of dissertations: 2002; the order of the number of dissertations by the domain of library ＆ information science: library management, information science, public service, organizing library materials, bibliography, collection development (management), history of books & libraries, foundations of library & information science.

The purpose of the study is to review research trends of information literacy instruction by analyzing 118 journal articles published in the library and information science field in Korea. The study first categorized the literature by year, journal title, type of library, type of researcher, and topic. Then, it analyzed the contents of the literature by 8 sub-topics. The study found that in terms of types of libraries, school libraries were the most frequently studied, and in terms of topics, program development. Research about public libraries was scarce. Based on the findings, the study proposed future directions of research in the information literacy instruction area.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of children's services research in Korea. A total of 113 research articles were selected from 4 journals in Library and Information Science. The purpose of the study is to understand the research trends in the hypertext information retrieval. Around 30 related papers were investigated, from which three distinctive streams of research trends are grasped: 1) a trend of incorporating the traditional retrieval models, especially the query-based searching model into the hypermedia system. 2) a trend of a n.0, pplying the hypermedia system as an interface to the OPAC system, 3) a trend of incorporating the artificial intelligence techniques into the hypermedia techniques. The research on the hypermedia is going on, and the research directions will be increasingly intend to incorporate the traditional retrieval models and artificial intelligence techniques into the hypermedia system.
