Recently as efficient processing of aggregate queries for fetching desired data from sensors has been recognized as a crucial part, in-network aggregate query processing techniques are studied intensively in wireless sensor networks. Existing representative in-network aggregate query processing techniques propose routing algorithms and data structures for processing aggregate queries. However, these aggregate query processing techniques have problems such as high energy consumption in sensor nodes, low accuracy of query processing results, and long query processing time. In order to solve these problems and to enhance the efficiency of aggregate query processing in wireless sensor networks, this paper proposes Bucket-based Parallel Aggregation(BPA). BPA divides a query region into several cells according to the distribution of sensor nodes and builds a Quad-tree, and then processes aggregate queries in parallel for each cell region according to routing. And it sends data in duplicate by removing redundant data, which, in turn, enhances the accuracy of query processing results. Also, BPA uses a bucket-based data structure in aggregate query processing, and divides and conquers the bucket data structure adaptively according to the number of data in the bucket. In addition, BPA compresses data in order to reduce the size of data in the bucket and performs data transmission filtering when each sensor node sends data. Finally, in this paper, we prove its superiority through various experiments using sensor data.
In WSN(Wireless Sensor Network) many routing algorithms such as LEACH, PEGASIS and PEDEP consisting of sensor nodes with limited energy have been proposed to extend WSN lifetime. Under the assumption of perfect fusion, these algorithms used convergecast that periodically collects sensed data from all sensor nodes to a base station. But because these schemes studied less energy consumption for a convergecast as well as fairly energy consumption altogether, the minimum energy consumption for a convergecast was not focused enough nor how topology influences to energy consumption. This paper deals with routing topology and energy consumption for a single convergecast in the following ways. We chose major WSN topology as MSC(Minimum Spanning Chain)s, MSTs, PEGASIS chains and proposed LECSEN chains. We solved the MSC length by Linear Programming(LP) and propose the LECSEN chain to compete with MST and MSC. As a result of simulation by Monte Carlo method for calculation of the topology length and standard deviation of link length, we learned that LECSEN is competitive with MST in terms of total energy consumption and shows the best with the view of even energy consumption at the sensor nodes. Thus, we concluded LECSEN is a very useful routing topology in WSN.
In mobile ad hoc networks, an application scenario requires mostly group mobility behavior in the mix of group moving nodes and individually moving nodes. The nodes of those applications tend to belong to the movement group with similar movement behavior. Group mobility is one of the good methods to improve scalability, and reduces the protocol overhead. In this paper, we propose the multicast architecture which regards nodes that have equal group mobility in the heterogeneous group mobility network as the single entity with the multiple interfaces and composes multicast tree, The logical cooperative entity-based multicast architecture accommodates the scalability, the multicast tree simplification, and the protocol overhead reduction which arc obtained from the hierarchical multicast architecture, while it maintains the nat multicast architecture for the data transmission. It also prevents the concentration of the energy consumption dispersing data forwarding load into the several ingress/egress nodes. Results obtained through simulations show that logical cooperative entity based multicast protocol with multiple interfaces offers the protocol scalability and the efficient data transmission.

There are a number of studies that propose transmission power control algorithms in wireless sensor networks. However, these algorithms have a lot of overhead in the initialization phase since a number of packets have to be transmitted to determine the optimal transmission power level. This paper proposes the transmission power control technique considering the shortest-path to minimize the hop-count without the occurrence of any power control messages. We applied the proposed technique on tree-based network component implemented on TinyOS. And we evaluated the performance including transmission energy and average network depth with 21 motes. Compared to before, the proposed technique reduces about 24.7% of the average electric current on transmitting. As a result of considering the shortest-path, the hop-count considering the shortest-path was about 41% less than a normal network.
This paper describes algorithm that minimizes recovery time of packet loss resulting from handoff in multicast environments and guarantees reliability through interaction of FN(Foreign Network) with PMTP(Predictable Multicast Tree Protocol). To solve the problems that inefficient routing and handoff delay taking plate when using hi-directional tunneling and remote subscription independently in multicast environments, proposed algorithm uses tunneling and rejoining multicast group according to the status of an arriving FA in a foreign network. Furthermore, proposed algorithm sends packet loss information and register message to previous FA or current FA at the same time. so, MH is able to recovery packet loss in handoff delay as soon as possible. As a result of performance analysis, proposed algorithm is more efficient than previous researches and is applicable to existing handoff method without requiring additional procedures.
Due to the frequent and unpredictable topology changes, multicast still remains as challenge and no one-size-fits-all protocol could serve all kinds of needs in mobile ad hoc network. In this paper, we propose a novel scheme of Hierarchical Eulerian Ring Oriented Multicast Architecture (HEROMA) over mobile ad hoc network. It has features that concentrate on efficiency and robustness simultaneously. It is also an application-driven proposal for hazard detection. Architectures including Eulerian ring, hierarchy and multicast agent are investigated in detail Simulation results different level of improvements on control traffic, end-to-end delay and packet delivery ratio by comparing with tree-based and mesh-based multicast protocols.
In this paper, we present two algorithms for efficiently aggregating link state information needed for quality-of-service (QoS) routing. In these algorithms, each edge node in a group is mapped onto a node of a shufflenet or a node of a de Bruijn graph. By this mapping, the number of links for which state information is maintained becomes aN (a is an integer, N is the number of edge nodes) which is significantly smaller than N2 in the full-mesh approach. Our algorithms also can support asymmetric link state parameters which are common in practice, while many previous algorithms such as the spanning tree approach can be applied only to networks with symmetric link state parameters. Experimental results show that the performance of our shufflenet algorithm is close to that of the full-mesh approach in terms of the accuracy of bandwidth and delay information, with only a much smaller amount of information. On the other hand, although it is not as good as the shufflenet approach, the de Bruijn algorithm also performs far better than the star approach which is one of the most widely accepted schemes. The de Bruijn algorithm needs smaller computational complexity than most previous algorithms for asymmetric networks, including the shufflenet algorithm.

Due to the advantages of a conveniet, inexpensive installation, flexibility, and scalability, Wireless AMR systems are recently preferred over wired AMR systems. However, a multi-hop supported AMR network, which generally covers large areas, may create energy wastage problem, energy unbalance, and high interference hazard due to a large amount of concurrent-intensive metering data in the network. Therefore in this paper we propose a novel data gathering method which can solve abovementioned problems as well as conserve energy, by reducing the traffic in the network. In addition, the experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme shows superior performance to the conventional data transmission method.
In order to deliver multicast traffic efficiently, multicast routing and reliable transmission mechanisms are required. The reliable delivery implies that lost packets must be retransmitted, which in turn requires that transmitted packets be stored in a retransmission buffer. Therefore how to manage a retransmission buffer is important and, in this paper, we try to solve the problem of how many packets should be maintained in the buffer. Our proposed scheme, the timer-based buffer management (TBM), maintains only necessary amount of buffer based on the timer value calculated from the NAKs between the replier and receivers on a multicast tree and can adjust to the dynamic network conditions. By performing simulations, we show that TBM manages the buffer efficiently regardless of the error situation, network size, and so on.

Although the dense interconnection datacenter networks (DCNs) (e.g. FatTree) provide multiple paths and high bisection bandwidth for each server pair, the single-path TCP (SPT) and ECMP which are widely used currently neither achieve high bandwidth utilization nor have good load balancing. Due to only one available transmission path, SPT cannot make full use of all available bandwidth, while ECMP's random hashing results in many collisions. In this paper, we present OFPT, an OpenFlow based Parallel Transport framework, which integrates precise routing and scheduling for better load balancing and higher network throughput. By adopting OpenFlow based centralized control mechanism, OFPT computes the optimal path and bandwidth provision for each flow according to the global network view. To guarantee high throughput, OFPT dynamically schedules flows with Seamless Flow Migration Mechanism (SFMM), which can avoid packet loss in flow rerouting. Finally, we test OFPT on Mininet and implement it in a real testbed. The experimental results show that the average network throughput in OFPT is up to 97.5% of bisection bandwidth, which is higher than ECMP by 36%. Besides, OFPT decreases the average flow completion time (AFCT) and achieves better scalability.
