Purpose : To derive the most appropriate factors by considering the effects of the major factors when applied to the optimization algorithm, thereby aiding the effective designing of a ideal treatment plan. Materials and Methods : The eclipse treatment planning system(Eclipse 10.0, Varian, USA) was used in this study. The PBC (Pencil Beam Convolution) algorithm was used for dose calculation, and the DVO (Dose Volume Optimizer 10.0.28) Optimization algorithm was used for intensity modulated radiation therapy. The experimental group consists of patients receiving intensity modulated radiation therapy for the head and neck cancer and dose prescription to two planned target volume was 2.2 Gy and 2.0 Gy simultaneously. Treatment plan was done with inverse dose calculation methods utilizing 6 MV beam and 7 fields. The optimal algorithm parameter of the established plan was selected based on volume dose-priority(Constrain), dose fluence smooth value and the impact of the treatment plan was analyzed according to the variation of each factors. Volume dose-priority determines the reference conditions and the optimization process was carried out under the condition using same ratio, but different absolute values. We evaluated the surrounding normal organs of treatment volume according to the changing conditions of the absolute values of the volume dose-priority. Dose fluence smooth value was applied by simply changing the reference conditions (absolute value) and by changing the related volume dose-priority. The treatment plan was evaluated using Conformal Index, Paddick's Conformal Index, Homogeneity Index and the average dose of each organs. Results : When the volume dose-priority values were directly proportioned by changing the absolute values, the CI values were found to be different. However PCI was $1.299{\pm}0.006$ and HI was $1.095{\pm}0.004$ while D5%/D95% was $1.090{\pm}1.011$. The impact on the prescribed dose were similar. The average dose of parotid gland decreased to 67.4, 50.3, 51.2, 47.1 Gy when the absolute values of the volume dose-priority increased by 40,60,70,90. When the dose smooth strength from each treatment plan was increased, PCI value increased to $1.338{\pm}0.006$. Conclusion : The optimization algorithm was more influenced by the ratio of each condition than the absolute value of volume dose-priority. If the same ratio was maintained, similar treatment plan was established even if the absolute values were different. Volume dose-priority of the treatment volume should be more than 50% of the normal organ volume dose-priority in order to achieve a successful treatment plan. Dose fluence smooth value should increase or decrease proportional to the volume dose-priority. Volume dose-priority is not enough to satisfy the conditions when the absolute value are applied solely.
The effect of subzero treatment on the mechanical properties of cold rolled high manganese austenitic stainless steel was investagated. ${\alpha}$'-martensite was formed by cold rolling, and it was formed with surface relief and specific direction or crossing each other. The volume fraction of martensite increased by subzero treatment, and it was increased with longer time of subzero treatment and higher temperature of subzero treatment. The hardness and strength increased by subzero treatment, while the elongation decreased. With the increase of volume fraction of martensite, the hardness and strength was increased steeply with proportional relationship, elongation was decreased slowly. The results show that the hardness and strength was strongly controlled by the volume fraction of martensite, and the elongation was affected by transformation behavior of deformation induced martensite in the initial stage of deformation.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the performance of porous grass block. For the investigation, Festuca arundinacea and Zoysia japonica 'Zenith' were planted, and the volume of evapotranspiration and remains were examined based on different materials in the water tank in the experiment of Festuca arundinacea, the volume of water storage of treatment with perlite ($10.84{\iota}/m^2$) was higher than that with drainage ($7l/m^2$). The difference between the two was $3.84/m^2$. The drainage treatment without water storage capacity showed the higher degree of dryness in turf grass. The volume of evapo-transpiration of treatment with perlite was the highest (21.57mm/week). The volume of evapotranspiration of treatment with sand was 19.57mm/week, and with treatment with drainage was 18.24mm/week. Based on the measured volume of daily evapotranspiration of $2.60{\sim}3.08mm\;d^{-1}$, it was determined that the unit with water storage capacity would store water of one to two days usage compared to unite without such storage capacity. In the experiment of Zoysia japonica 'Zenith', the volume of water storage of treatment with perlite was $10.77l/m^2$ which was similar to the former experiment. The volume of evapotranspiration of treatment with perlite and sand were 21.64mm/week and 20.64mm/week, respectively. In case of airtight water tank, the volume was measured as 22.06mm/week. Each treatment has no notable difference in the volume of evapotranspiration. In conclusion, from the investigation in this study, porous grass block with water tank was found to be effective in plant growth under low irrigation. As the ecological area ratio and vegetated porous pavement have became more emphasized, additional study of rain infiltration and reservoir effect are needed in the future.
Ductile cast iron has a good ductility and toughness than those of gray cast iron, because the shape of graphite is spheroidal. Also, it has been reported that, additional strengthening and toughening of the ductile cast iron can be obtainded from the proper combination of matrix structures by the heat treatment and addition of alloying elements. In this study the effect of special heat treatment and addition of alloying elements(Ni, Mo) on the multi-phase(ferrite-bainite-martensite) structures, strength and toughness of ductile cast iron were studied systematically. In water quenching from $770^{\circ}C$, the martensite volume(%) increased, but the ferrite volume(%) decreased with increment of Ni content. In as cast, pearlite volume(%) and hardness increased with increment of Mo and Ni contents. And with the increment of the destabilization austempering holding time, the bainite volume(%) increased but the martensite volume(%) decreased. As destabilization austempering holding time is same, bainite volume(%) decreased, martensite increased with the increment of Ni and Mo contents. The hardness and tensile strength decreased, but impact energy increased with the decrease of Ni and Mo contents, and increment of holding time of destabilization austempering treatment.
In this work, a new way of measuring the volume fraction of e martensite in Fe-based alloys has been proposed. Since the specific volume of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite, depending on alloy composition, is smaller than that of austenite i.e ${\gamma}$ phase, volume expansion takes place during ${\varepsilon}{\rightarrow}{\gamma}$ reverse transformation. As the amount of the volume expansion is proportional to the product of specific volume difference times the volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite, the volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$ martensite can be calculated by measuring the volume expansion and the specific volume difference. Such a relationship was confirmed in Fe-21Mn and Fe-32Mn-6Si alloys which undergo ${\gamma}{\rightarrow}{\varepsilon}$ martensitic transformation on cooling and by cold rolling, respectively. It was also found that the former has isotropic ${\varepsilon}$ martensite while the latter has anisotropic ${\varepsilon}$ martensite.
Effect of martensite on the mechanical properties of austempered ductile cast iron was investigated after obtained the martensite by subzero treatment. Retained austenite was transformed to martensite by subzero treatment, and with decreasing subzero treatment temperature, volume fraction of martensite was increased. With increasing of the volume fraction of martensite, tensile strength was increased and elongation was decreased, ratio of increasing of strength and decreasing of elongation was higher in case of specimens with lot's of Cu contents. With increasing of the volume fraction of martensite, hardness slowly increased until only about 5% and it rapidly increased in a straight proportion when it is above 5%, while impact value was rapidly decreased until about 7% but it had a little change when it is above 7%.
In this study, we assessed the effect of reduction of tumor volume in the head and neck cancer by using RANDO phantom in Static Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (S-IMRT) and Volumetric-Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) planning. RANDO phantom's body and protruding volumes were delineated by using Contour menu of Eclipse™ (Varian Medical System, Inc., Version 15.6, USA) treatment planning system. Inner margins of 2 mm to 10 mm from protruding volumes of the reference were applied to generate the parameters of reduced volume. In addition, target volume and Organ at Risk (OAR) volumes were delineated. S-IMRT plan and VMAT plan were designed in reference. These plans were assigned in the reduced volumes and dose was calculated in reduced volumes using preset Monitor unit (MU). Dose Volume Histogram (DVH) was generated to evaluate treatment planning. Conformity Index (CI) and R2 in reference S-IMRT were 0.983 and 0.015, respectively. There was no significant relationship between CI and the reduced volume. Homogeneity Index (HI) and R2 were 0.092 and 0.960, respectively. The HI increased when volume reduced. In reference VMAT, CI and R2 were 0.992 and 0.259, respectively. There was no relationship between the volume reduction and CI. On the other hand, HI and R2 were 0.078 and 0.895, respectively. The value of HI increased when the volume reduced. There was significant difference (p<0.05) between parameters (Dmean and Dmax) of normal organs of S-IMRT and VMAT except brain stem. Volume reduction affected the CI, HI and OAR dose. In the future, additional studies are necessary to incorporate the reduction of the volume in the clinical setting.
This experiment was carried out for the purpose of reducing alkaloid in reconstituted tobacco sheet and effluent of reconstituted tobacco sheet manufacturing company by treating oxidizing agents such as ozone, sodium hypochlorite, perchloric acid and hydrogen peroxide to tobacco extract created from the manufacturing process of reconstituted tobacco sheet. The effect of alkaloid reduction in tobacco extract by the volume added, time of treatment and pH of oxidizing agents were as follows: 1. When the solid rate of tobacco extract stood at 10 percent, the content of alkaloid, total sugar, total nitrogen and chlorine was 1,600mg/l, 11,000mg/l, 3,200mg/l and 4,000mg/l, respectively. 2. The effect of alkaloid reduction through ozone treatment was in proportion to time of ozone treatment. Alkaloid showed a 31.2 percent reduction under 8 hours' ozone treatment and 0.23g ozone consumed to remove lmg alkaloid. 3. Alkaloid reduction through sodium hypochlorite treatment was influenced by quantity of chlorine in sodium hypochlorite solution. To remove lmg alkaloid, 36.3mg chlorine was used. Reduction of alkaloid was not affected by time of sodium hypochlorite treatment, while showed the best reaction under pH 5-7. 4. The effect of alkaloid reduction by perchloric acid was under the control of the volume added and time of treatment of perchloric acid. The volume of perchloric acid required to remove alkaloid was on the decrease as time of treatment was getting longer. lmg alkaloid was removed by 0.15g perchloric acid under 8 hours' perchloric acid treatment. 5. Alkaloid reduction reacted slowly to the volume added and time of treatment of hydrogen peroxide. Under 8 hours' hydrogen peroxide treatment, it showed maximum removal, registering 10 percent alkaloid reduction.
Background: Percutaneous renal cyst sclerotherapy (PRCS) as a treatment for renal cysts is usually performed with a high concentration of ethanol (≥ 90%). This study reviewed cases in which a lower concentration of ethanol (83%) was used for the procedure in dogs. Methods: Records of cases of renal cysts treated by sclerotherapy using 83% ethanol in dogs were reviewed. Outcomes of the treatment were evaluated by comparing volumes of renal cysts before the procedure and the volumes after treatment, using ultrasound images with the volume reduction rates classified as follows: < 50% of initial volume (failed); ≥ 50% but < 80% of initial volume (partial success); ≥ 80% but < 95% of initial volume (great success); ≥ 95% of initial volume (complete success). Results: Out of nine dog kidneys, renal cysts sclerotherapy with 83% ethanol achieved partial success in one kidney, great success in four, and complete success in the other four. No side effect was observed. The mean of the volume-reduction rates was 90.00 ± 11.00 while the minimum and maximum reduction rates were 65% and 100%, respectively. Conclusions: The lower ethanol concentration (83%) is good for disinfecting kidneys in PRCS.
Super duplex stainless steel has along life in severe environments because of its strength and corrosion resistance. If 0.2$\sim$0.3% Nitrogen in aninterstitial solid solution is added, the austenite structure is reinforced. This improves the solid solution hardening and the anticorrosionability. In this study, the mechanical properties and structures of the super duplex stainless steel with the 0.2% N additive were investigated to determine the effect of various volume fractions on the austenite phase. The various volume fractions and distributions of the austenite structure in the applied test specimens were obtained by changing the heat treatment temperature and cycle. The characteristics by amounts of the $\sigma$ phase obtained from the precipitation heat treatment were alsoinvestigated. From the results, when the austenite volume fraction increases, the tensile strength decreases and elongation increases. And the $\sigma$ phase was rapidly increased by increasing the heat treatment time. When the volume fraction of the $\sigma$ phase increased, tensile strength increased.
