  • Purpose: This study seeks to explore the impact of COVID-19-induced boredom, a prevalent form of pandemic-related stress, on travel motivation and post-pandemic travel intentions. Additionally, it examines the interplay among travel motivation, travel constraints, and the willingness to pay more for travel experiences in the post-pandemic context. Methods: A PLS-SEM analysis was conducted to analyze the data. Data collection took place through an online survey in February and March 2021, with a total of 575 respondents participating. Participants provided responses regarding their current levels of boredom due to COVID-19, five different travel motivations, seven travel constraints, and their post-pandemic travel intentions. Additionally, participants were asked about their willingness to pay more for travel. Results: This study highlights the significant role of COVID-19-induced boredom in predicting post-pandemic travel intentions and the willingness to pay more for travel. Contrary to previous perceptions, boredom emerges as a driving factor, enhancing travel intentions during the pandemic. Additionally, relaxation becomes the primary motivation for travel during COVID-19, and structural constraints exert a noticeable impact on travel intentions, challenging previous assumptions. Stress levels directly influence the willingness to pay more during travel experiences, expanding the understanding of additional payment behavior in the context of travel. Conclusion: This study offers practical insights for tourism stakeholders. Recognizing and addressing boredom in marketing strategies, implementing aggressive additional payment options, and focusing on relaxation-oriented travel products are recommended to cater to post-pandemic traveler preferences and revive the tourism industry effectively.

  • This study aims to analyze through empirical experiments for the effects of a 360 degree's VR travel contents on stress in the era of COVID-19, as stress has emerged as social problems due to restrictions on freedom of movement. For the empirical experiment, the hypothesis (Happiness level or Depression level or Arousal level will affect the level of stress after watching VR travel contents) was established. As a result, the depression level was adopted while the others were rejected. In order to relieve stress, it is necessary to be careful not to feel depressed, and it was found that even if we can't travel freely, we can reduce stress somewhat with VR travel contents in the untact era. In other words, the emotional state after watching VR travel contents has changed positively. It is hoped that the results of this study will be of some help to the tourism industry and VR production industry, which have been contracted.

  • From the 1970s to the present, the number of new infectious diseases such as SARS, Ebola virus, and MERS has steadily increased. The new infectious disease, COVID-19, which began in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, has pushed the world into a pandemic era. As a result, Countries imposed restrictions on entry to foreign countries due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, which led to a decrease in the movement of tourists. Due to the restriction of travel, keywords such as "Corona blue" have soared and depression has increased. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the stress meaning network of the COVID-19 era to derive keywords and come up with a plan for a travel-related platform of the Post-COVID 19 era. This study conducted analysis of travel and stress caused by COVID-19 using TEXTOM, a big data analysis tool, and conducted semantic network analysis using UCINET6. We also conducted a CONCOR analysis to classify keywords for clustering of words with similarities. However, since we have collected travel and stress-oriented data from the start to the present, we need to increase the number of analysis data and analyze more data in the future.

  • Ultrasonic travel-times obtained with the LCR ultrasonic technique have shown an ability to distinguish among three aluminum plates. The 244$\times$150mm thick, but differ in heat treatment. One is fully annealed, the second is quenched and then tempered, and the third is heat-treated to T651 plate, as received plate. Travel-times were obtained at four locations on each side of all plates. The data for both sides of each plate clearly are in very close agreement except location 1 of each plate. In order to show travel-time variation throughout the plate areas, the average travel-time for both sides of each plate were calculated. For Plate 1, the travel-time data were the highest and the data of Plate, the travel-time data were the highest and the data of Plate 2 were upper than Plate 3. Finally, the residual stresses for each plate were measured by X-ray diffraction method. The results showed a good relation. These preliminary results indicate that the LCR Ultrasonic Technique may be not only further developed for use in quality control in the manufacture of rolled aluminum plates but also industry.

  • Nowadays, many people suffer from stress because of their jobs, studies, traffic, etc. Daily stress may cause many diseases (Garrett, 1991). One of the methods for reducing stress is experiencing a natural environment (Frumkin, 2001). Cibodas botanical garden (CBG) is one of the most famous travel destinations in Bogor, Indonesia. CBG has the potential for tourism activities. However, an economic assessment is required to verify their sustainability. The research objectives of this study were to identify the characteristics of tourism utilization in CBG, to analyze the economic tourism value of CBG, and to measure the effectiveness of traveling to a natural environment for reducing stress. The research method used was the survey. This study used three data analysis methods: (1) descriptive analysis which was used to identify the characteristics of tourists, (2) travel cost method (TCM), and (3) contingent valuation method (CVM). Results showed some differences in the characteristics of foreign and domestic tourists respondents in age, educational background, income level, number of dependents, and the frequency of their visits. CBG has a high economic value, amounting to IDR (Indonesian Rupiah) 5,508,932,605,405 or approximately USD (United State Dollar) 413,000,000. WTP (Willingness to Pay) of domestic tourist respondents was IDR 29,702 or USD 2.2 per visit, while the value of foreign tourist respondents reached IDR 39,700 or USD 2.9 per visit. Respondents found it preferable to pay more for tickets (WTP value) than to buy medication to reduce their stress.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of the tilling depth, tilling travel speed and soil shear stress on the tilling load characteristics and power requirement for rotary tillers. The results obtained from the study are summarized as follows. 1. The average and maximum PTO torque increased as the tilling depth, tilling pitch and soil shear stress increased. A multiple linear regression equation to estimate the average PTO torque in terms of the above parameters was developed. 2. The ratios of maximum PTO torque to the average torque were in the range of 1.17 to 1.65 for the various tilling conditions tested. The variation in PTO torque increased greatly as the tilling pitch and soil shear stress increased, but decreased as the tilling depth increased. 3. Power requirement for the PTO shaft increased with the tilling depth, travel speed and soil shear stress, but decreased slightly as the tilling pitch increased. A multiple linear regression equation to estimate power requirement for the PTO shaft in terms of the above parameters was developed. 4. The specific power requirement for the rotary tiller was in the range of $0.008-0.015ps/cm^2$ for the various tilling conditons tested. The specific tilling capacity decreased as the tilling depth and soil shear stress increased, but increased with the tilling pitch. A multiple linear regression equation to estimate the specific tilling capacity in terms of the above parameters was developed.

  • The welding characteristics of Inconel 600 Alloy using a continuous wave Nd:YAG laser are experimentally investigated. The major process parameters studied in the present laser welding experiment were the positions of focus, laser power and travel speed of laser bean We measured the fusion zone size and its shape using an optical microscope for the observation of cross-sectional area. We performed two tests regarding the tension and the micro hardness for welding quality estimation. Then we measured residual stress in welds by electronic speckle pattern interferometry(ESPI). In conclusion the optimum butt welding process parameters were 0.5mm focus position, 1.6kW laser power, 1m/min travel speed and 5.5$\ell$/min assist gas discharge.

  • Conrad's novels, specifically the Lingard Trilogy-Almayer's Folly, An Outcast of the Islands, and The Rescue-and Lord Jim, set in the Southeast Asian or Malay Archipelago can be considered travel literature that played a significant role in British imperial expansion. Conrad's Malay novels were based not only on his experience in the region during his commercial journey but also on information from earlier travel writings about the Malays and their customs, including James Brooke's journals. The English traders in Conrad's novels, namely Lingard and Jim, were partly modeled on Brooke, the White Rajah, who founded and ruled the English colony on the northwest of Borneo in the 1840s. The white traders in Conrad's novels, who act as enlightened rulers, represent the British commercial expansionism, which was obscured by the phenomenon of the civilizing mission in the late nineteenth century. On the other hand, the colonial official Clifford's tales and novels about British Malaya demonstrate the typical travel accounts of the late nineteenth century that stress the civilizing mission over commercial exploitation. The concept of the enlightening mission was rooted in evolutionary anthropological thinking, which developed as part of the natural history in the early nineteenth century. In fact, the development of natural history, stimulating British expansion in search of commercially exploitable resources and lands, enabled travel writing as the collection of natural knowledge to become a profitable business. In Conrad, the white characters are mainly traders acting as colonial rulers, while in Clifford, they are scientific rulers with their commercial interests rarely apparent. In sum, Conrad's novels reveal that the new imperialism of the civilizing mission is still a commercial one, which disturbs rather than contributes to the imperial expansion-in contrast to other travel literature such as Clifford's.
