  • The purpose of this study is to identify differences based on demographic characteristics and travel-related characteristics: first, whether travelers used a domestic travel agency and second whether travelers purchased a full-package travel program. A sample selection probit model was used to provide simultaneous evaluation of the different characteristics of outbound travelers. The present study investigates how tourists make decisions based on two travel-pattern choices. It then goes on to explore the characteristics of outbound travelers from South Korea. The data is drawn from a nationwide survey in South Korea, and a total of 859 surveys were used for analysis. Due to the interdependent nature of the choices, a sample selection probit model was used to estimate outbound tourists' use of domestic travel agency and purchase of full travel package. Significant determinants of domestic travel agency use are identified as age, gender, marital status, party size, children, length of travel, and travel distance, while those of full travel package purchase are age, marital status, and travel purpose. Estimated results provide manifestations of differing travel needs of outbound travelers. the results of this study demonstrate differences between travel-agency users and full-package travel-program consumers and provide determinants that affect the purchase of full-package travel.

  • This paper is an explanation of a design and an implementation of Web 2.0 online travel agency system for frequent decision-making. On the Web 2.0 travel agency system, optimized information is obtained by applying data mining technology such as association rules, decision trees, and neural networks, and this system is a unified system that consists of the block systems of hotels, ground traffic, and flights in tour packages of a travel agency system. Furthermore, it is implemented to manage the system that is not for the administrator of a travel agency system, but for users or communities that use the system need their own information. The expected effect of this system is to maximize the investment company's efficiency through a new-concept interest model created by B2C customers, and also B2B small and medium-sized travel agencies adopting the system. As a result, it is a system that stimulates dormant customer activity and prevents good customers from leaving by maximizing the merit and capacity of the existed web site for marketing. Moreover, this system is also a model for people who plan customized travel agency business, and will show a way for the domestic and international travel agency industry's globalization.

  • The Internet website has become an effective marketing vehicle for travel agencies. The objective of this study is to examine theoretical relationships between travel agency's website quality, customer satisfaction, and repurchase intention. Usable data was obtained from the 373 respondents using travel agency's website within one year. Hypotheses are tested using structural equation modeling. The results indicate that travel agency's website quality has an effect on customer satisfaction as well as repurchase intention. The impact of information quality on customer satisfaction and repurchase intention is the most important factor, followed by service quality and design quality among the factors of the quality of a travel agency's website.

  • This work aims on the one hand at the sublation of the typical image of the existing travel agencies and on the other at the making of new image that meets the clients' wishes. Looking in the face that in the existing travel agencies most clients are straying with the overflowing and selling-oriented informations, this design work pursue the image making of a new atmosphere of travel agency, in which the clients can make a rational choice. In complying with the policies of the travel agency in the Karstadt department store I have arrived at the basic design theme: the desire for travel depends on how organically and reciprocally the interest on the travel and the presentation of the travel information are combined with and permeated into each other, and furthermore how multifariously and plentifully these reciprocal combining and permeating are put on the stage. So it follows that the travel agency must let the clients indirectly experience the wished travel through staging various kinds of experience spaces. Consequentially the basic concept of the design can be summarized in the following: overlapping-transmitting and permeating-suspending.

  • Individuals' knowledge does not transform easily into organizational knowledge even with the implementation of knowledge management system in travel agency. A prior research stream emphasizes voluntariness, as a critical factor in knowledge sharing, but pays little attention to its role. We employ theoretical framework and augment it with extrinsic variables, voluntariness of knowledge sharing that are believed to influence customer orientation and market performance of travel agency. Using data on travel agency employee, the authors find considerable results and conclude by discussing prescriptive recommendations for the travel industry.

The perceived value of online travel agency website users has positive impart on satisfaction and repurchase intention. Satisfaction of online travel agency web site users have positive impacts on repurchase intention. But safety has no impact on perceived value while positive impacts on satisfaction was affected. Conclusions - First, in the online travel agency web site e-service quality, safety has no impact on perceived value while it was shown to have positive impacts on satisfaction because the users of online travel agency web sites believe that the protection of personal information, the defense of cracker and the safeguard of payment security are the basic premises of website operation. Although safety does not have impacts on perceived value, users benefits will suffer damage when hacker intrusion and other accidents occur so that online travel agency web sites should not ignore the security concerns. Second, credibility is a major concern for online travel agency web site users. At this time, it is necessary for the web site to establish a system to display both the commodity information and the using experience published on the user's SNS, thus improving the credibility of the website information.

  • Recent studies on business performance in the operation of travel agency services note the importance of non-financial factors, in addition to financial factors. They also indicate that in order to enhance the business performance in travel agency services, it is necessary to emphasize the most competitive key factors based on the understanding of the circumstances with which those services are faced. The analyses of business performance in travel services and of related research Papers have showed that the major factors influencing the operation of travel agency services include the relationship with tourism-related companies the introduction of e-commerce and knowledge-based management, the services of employed workers, and brand awareness and advertising. The present study attempts to propose an approach to the efficient operation of travel agency services by reviewing and analyzing the different studies regarding these factors. To do so, this study employs the existing study reports and publications related to the operation of travel services, focusing mainly on literature review. The paper is composed of four chapters: The first is an introductory chapter; Chapter 2 provides the theoretical background; in Chapter 3 an analysis of the previous studies is attempted; and Chapter 4 presents the results of analysis and other considerable suggestions.
