COVID-19에 따른 대중교통수단 변화에 미치는 영향 분석 및 대책에 관한 연구 (Influence of COVID-19 on Public Transportation Mode Change and Countermeasures)

  • COVID-19로 인해 대중교통 이용객이 큰 폭으로 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 COVID-19로 인한 시민들의 통행행태에 변화에 미친 영향 요인을 파악 하고자 설문을 통하여 통행특성에 대한 자료를 수집하고 수단전환에 대한 로지스틱 회귀 분석을 진행하였다. 또한, 중요도-만족도 분석을 실시하여 대중교통 운영·시설 개선방안에 대해 고찰하였다. 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, COVID-19에 대한 불안감을 가질수록(+), 대중교통에서의 감염 불안을 가질수록(+) 개인교통수단으로 전환하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 개인속성으로 운전면허가 없는 응답자에 비해 운전을 할수록(+), 가구에 차량이 없는 응답자에 비해 가구에 차량을 보유할수록(+), 온라인 쇼핑이 증가한 집단일수록(+), 통행목적이 출근인 집단보다 여행인 집단 일수록(+) 수단 전환이 더 많이 일어난 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 백신 접종을 하지 않은 집단보다 백신을 접종한 집단일수록(-), 가구원 수가 많을수록(-) 수단전환을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 현재 잘 이루어지고 있는 대중교통 내 마스크의 무착용, 손 소독·방역, 버스·도시철도 쾌적성 유지에 대해 지속적인 노력이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 높은 중요도에 비해 만족도가 낮은 대중교통 내의 혼잡도 및 환기에 대한 우선적 개선이 중요한 것으로 도출되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 현 시점 및 향후 전염병 발생 시 대중교통 운영 및 관리 대책수립의 기초자료로서 활용성이 기대된다.

Maglev, Petroleum Demand, and Global Warming

  • According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, combustion of petroleum-based and other fossil fuels results in the increasing atmospheric concentrations of $CO_2$ and other greenhouse gases (GHG's) and is a major contributing factor to global warming. This paper includes estimates of the energy and petroleum use and the GHG emissions caused by the transportation sector. It then examines the extent to which diversions to alternative modes may be possible. Estimates are made of the potential reductions in energy and petroleum use and GHG emissions resulting from diversions from conventional modes, to both low-speed urban and high-speed intercity maglev vehicle trips based on "well-to-wheel" (i.e. total-fuel-cycle) calculations.

Effect of temperature and spring-mass systems on modal properties of Timoshenko concrete beam

  • An exact solution for the title problem was obtained in closed-form fashion considering general boundary conditions. The expressions of moment, shear and shear coefficient (or shear factor) of cross section under the effect of arbitrary temperature distribution were first derived. In view of these relationships, the differential equations of Timoshenko beam under the effect of temperature were obtained and solved. Second, the characteristic equations of Timoshenko beam carrying several spring-mass systems under the effect of temperature were derived based on the continuity and force equilibrium conditions at attaching points. Then, the correctness of proposed method was demonstrated by a Timoshenko laboratory beam and several finite element models. Finally, the influence law of different temperature distribution modes and parameters of spring-mass system on the modal characteristics of Timoshenko beam had been studied, respectively.

지방 중소도시 철도역 연계교통 실태조사와 정비 방향: 중앙선을 중심으로 (Suggestions for Improvement of Connectivity between Railway Stations in Small and Medium-sized Cities Based on a Survey Focused on the Joongang Line)

  • 본 연구는 지역 간 철도인 중앙선 일부 철도역의 실태조사를 토대로 우리나라 지방 중소도시 철도역의 환승교통체계 정비방향을 논하였다. 현재의 환승체계에 무엇이 문제인지를 알아보고 이를 개선하여 보다 많은 통행자가 공로에서 철도로 수단전환을 하도록 하는데 일조하고자 하였다. 연구의 결과 지방 중소도시의 철도 이용자는 시내버스 등 대중교통 중심의 연계교통을 희망하고 있으나 현실은 그러하지 못하며, 따라서 앞으로 시내버스를 위주로 하는 연계교통체계 구축이 강조되었다. 또한 환승거리를 최소화하고 다양한 연계교통수단을 수용하기 위해 역 광장 등 시설정비 방안의 도출과 이를 시행하는 정부지원 필요성이 제기되었다.

Estimating Transportation-Related Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the Port of Busan, S. Korea

  • The port of Busan is the fifth busiest container port in the world in terms of total mass of 20-foot equivalent units transported. Yet no attempts have been made to estimate the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the port of Busan by accounting for all port-related activities of the various transportation modes. With these challenges in mind, this study estimates the first activity-based GHG emissions inventory in the port of Busan, which consists of four transportation modes: marine vessels, cargo-handling equipment, heavy-duty trucks, and railroad locomotives. The estimation results based on the most recent and complete port-related activity data are as follows. First, the average annual transportation GHG emission in the port of Busan during the analysis period from 2000 to 2007 was 802 Gg $CO_2$-eq, with a lower value of 773 Gg $CO_2$-eq and an upper value of 813 Gg $CO_2$-eq. Second, the increase in the transportation-related GHG emissions in the port of Busan during the analysis period can be systematically explained by the amount of cargo handled ($R^2$=0.98). Third, about 64% of total GHG emissions in the port of Busan were from marine vessels because more than 40% of all maritime containerized trade flows in the port were transshipment traffic. Fourth, approximately 22% of the total GHG emissions in the port of Busan were from on-road or railroad vehicles, which transport cargo to and from the port of Busan. Finally, the remaining 14% of total GHG emissions were from the cargo handling equipment, such as cranes, yard tractors, and reach stackers.

주행모드별 경유 중형화물자동차의 온실가스 배출 특성 연구 (A Study on the Emission Characteristics of Greenhouse Gas from Diesel Medium Duty Trucks According to Driving Modes)

  • This study was investigate the characteristics of GHGs ($CO_2$, $CH_4$, and $N_2O$) emissions of diesel medium duty trucks according to their various driving modes. GHGs emissions decreased as vehicle speed increased, and emissions increased after 64.7 km/h. The 4.5 ton trucks show higher values of $CO_2$, $CH_4$, $N_2O$, 35%, 25%, and 57%, respectively, comparing of the 2.5 ton trucks. Also, $CO_2$ emissions under WHVC mode were 20% lower than those under the NEDC mode. In the case of cold start condition, $CO_2$ emissions were 12-13% higher than those for hot start condition. In the future, the result of present study will provide basic data to set up GHGs emission standards for medium and heavy duty vehicles.

  • We studied the cost-volume supply characteristic of public transportation systems focused on Bi-modal Tram in the main cities to analyze the applicability and status for the new transit system Bi-modal Tram as public transportation system. The operation cost considering the characteristic of vehicle, facilities, operation and average cost for respective public transportation system and the time cost considering the travel and transfer time are defined to the social cost, and the cost-volume supply curve is based on this social cost. The cost-volume supply characteristic between public transportation modes in the city is determined on the basis of cost-volume supply curve. Through the comparison between cost-volume supply characteristic of main transportation systems, it is analyzed about the relation between public transportation systems in the city and the characteristic for proper service provision. The application of Bi-modal Tram in the city is concluded that it is effective to reduce the social cost on the existing public transportation system.

  • The Korean railroads' logistics are facing the important turning points by the connection of. South and North Korean railroads, and the commercial opening of the High Speed Rail. These two factors demand several plans for the development of railroads' logistics, in which intermodal transportation with the others modes is wholly studied. In this respect the case of port of Hamburg, Germany, where railroads are completely integrated in the port, will permit the Koreans some useful lessons for the future of railroads' logistics.

  • The purpose of this study is to improvement strategies for transportation systems of container cargo in Busan port. Therefore, it was forecasted the future container cargo demand using logistic curve formula. In 2011, container cargo demand was forecasted 8.791 million TEU(T/S including 12.559 million TEU). In order to improvement transportation systems of container cargo, this study presented following; $\circled1$ port facilities expansion, $\circled2$ diversity of container transport modes. $\circled3$ make up ICD and exclusive container roads, $\circled4$ the second Seoul-Busan Expressway.
