  • Determining the investment priority of the railway project is essential to keep its object of railway investment. [National railway construction plan] provide 4 major evaluation indicators and their weighting range in determining the investment priority of railway construction. Which are investment efficiency, inter-regional balance of development, network effects, government supporting policy. However this present criteria has inconsistency in determining economical feasibility of the railway transportation when applying the same evaluation indicator, investment efficiency, with the road transportation. The railway transportation is superior to road transportation in terms of transportation capacity and distance, while offering less carbon emissions. In spite of the prominent position of the railway transportation, it can be failed to obtain its proper investment priority when being determined under economical feasibility based. Therefore, this study analyzed the inconsistency under present evaluation criteria and proposed new evaluation method for the investment priority of the railway construction using AHP(analytic hierarchy process), while differentiate from the road construction. This method is optimized for only determining the priority of the railway construction itself under object of railway investment respectively.

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to effect of prenatal exercise program combined with Brugger's exercise on low back pain and balance in pregnant women. Design: A Single-Subject Study. Methods: This study was applied to 28 weeks of pregnant women who complained of low back pain for a total of 4 weeks. A total of 10 prenatal exercise programs in this study consists of sessions, and each session was applied with a Bruger exercise for 1 minute before the start. For the fatigue and safety of pregnant women, a break for 1 minute was provided for each session and was conducted under the supervision of the therapist The visual analogue scale (VAS), Oswestry disability index (ODI), and static balance (BT-4) were measured to evaluate the pregnant women's low back pain and balance ability before and after the intervention Results: The change in back pain after the intervention was VAS 5 before the intervention, but the VAS gradually decreased at 4 weeks after the intervention. Reduced to VAS 2 after 4 weeks of intervention. The Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) was 54%, which was at the level of severe disability, but the dysfunction index gradually decreased 4 weeks after intervention, reaching 19% in 4 weeks, and there were no problems with daily life. As for the static balance ability, the sway area and the sway distance values gradually decreased after the intervention in both the eyes open and closed state, showing an improvement in the static balance ability of pregnant women after the intervention than before the intervention. Conclusion: The prenatal exercise program combined with Brugger's exercise was effective to improve low back pain and static balance in pregnant women. The result of this study may helpful as basic data for obstetric physical therapy.

  • One of interesting issues in urban land-use and transportation policy is about an unproven belief that imbalances between employment and residential sites strongly influence urban commuting patterns. The purpose of this study si to find how spatial distribution of jobs and housing affects commuting distances in Seoul Metropolitan Area using 1990 Census O-D Data. This study estimates cost-minimizing required commuting distance, given the actual distributions of jobs and housing , and compares required commuting distances with actual commuting distances. One of findings is that the standard urban economic theory explains only 1/3 of actual commuting in the case study area. The policy implication of this study is that jobs-housing balance policy will have only a minor effect on the actual commuting.

  • A new control algorithm for the yaw motion control of a unicycle robot has been proposed in this paper. With the increase of life quality, there are various transportation systems such as segway and unicycle robot which provide not only transportation but also amusement. In most of the unicycle robots share the same technology in that the directions of roll and pitch are controlled by the balance controllers, allowing the robots to maintain balance for a long period by continuously moving forward and backward. However, one disadvantage of this technology is that it cannot provide the capability to the robots to avoid obstacles in their path way. This research focuses to provide the yawing function to the unicycle robot and to control the yaw motion to avoid the obstacles as desired. For the control of yawing motion, the yaw angle is adjusted to the inertia generated by the velocity and torque of a yawing motor which is installed in the center axes of the unicycle robot to keep the lateral control simple. Through the real experiments, the effective and robustness of the yawing control algorithm has been demonstrated.

  • Water balance has a significant impact on the overall fuel cell system performance. Proper water management should provide an adequate membrane hydration and avoidance of water flooding in the catalyst layer and gas diffusion layer. Considering the important of advanced water management in PEM fuel cell, this study proposes a simple one dimensional water transportation model of PEM fuel cell for use in a dynamic condition. The model has been created by assumption that the output is the water liquid saturation difference. The liquid saturation change is the total difference between the additional water and the removal water on the system. The water addition is obtained from fuel cell reaction and the electro osmotic drag. The water removal is obtained from capillary transport and evaporation process. The result shows that the capillary water transport of low temperature fuel cell is high because the evaporation rate is low.

  • This study aims to develop a simulation bed for the mechanical balance of plants of high temperature fuel cells such as molten carbonate fuel cells. For using fuel cells in transportation, the optimization of the balance of plants should be considered. In this study, the dynamic model of a molten carbonate fuel cell and the model's responses to inlet gas composition, pressure, flow rate, and stack temperature were analyzed. On/off simulation was performed for testing the dynamic model's feasibility. The simulation results are in reasonable agreement with the experimental results from published literatures.
