  • This study aims to suggest an implementation methodology of security module for data integrity of mobile internet terminal. This is based on the WTLS(Wileless Transport Layer Security) of WAP Protocol. This security module is expected to achieve central role in conversion of wireless internet environment and emphasis of encryption technology and safe and calculable wireless communication environment construction.

  • 본 논문에서는 WAP 포럼에서 제시하고 있는 무선 인터넷 솔루션인 WAP에서의 보안 메커니즘인 WTLS(Wireless Transport Layer Security), WIM (WAP Identity Module), WMLScript Crypto Library, WPKI(WAP Public Key Infrastructure)에 대해 살펴보고, WAP 게이트웨이를 사용하는 네트워크의 구조적 형태에서 발생되는 종단간 보안 서비스의 문제점에 대해 논의한 후 WAP 환경에서 종단간 보안 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 보안 시스템을 설계 및 구현하고자 한다.

  • It is imperative to migrate the current public key cryptosystem to a quantum-resistance system ahead of the realization of large-scale quantum computing technology. The National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIST, is promoting a public standardization project for Post-Quantum Cryptography(PQC) and also many research efforts have been conducted to apply PQC to TLS(Transport Layer Security) protocols, which are used for Internet communication security. In this paper, we propose a scenario in which a server and multi-clients share session keys on TLS by using the parallelized NTRU which is PQC in the key exchange process. In addition, we propose a method of accelerating NTRU using GPU and analyze its efficiency in an environment where a server needs to process large-scale data simultaneously.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT), combined with various technologies, is rapidly becoming an integral part of our daily life. While it is rapidly taking root in society, security considerations are relatively insufficient, making it a major target for cyber attacks. Since all devices in the IoT environment are connected to the Internet and are closely used in daily life, the damage caused by cyber attacks is also serious. Therefore, encryption communication using a network security protocol must be considered for a service in a more secure IoT environment. A representative network security protocol includes TLS (Transport Layer Protocol) defined by the IETF. This paper analyzes the performance measurement results for TLS version 1.2 and version 1.3 in an IoT device open platform environment to predict the load of TLS, a representative network security protocol, in IoT devices with limited resource characteristics. In addition, by analyzing the performance of each major cryptographic algorithm in version 1.3, we intend to present a standard for setting appropriate network security protocol properties according to IoT device specifications.

  • 개방형 시스템에서 사용자에게 안전성 및 신뢰성을 보증하기 위하여 정보 보호가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 트랜스포트 계층에서 보호 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 ISO와 IEC에서 표준으로 권고하고 있는 TLSP와 SA-P를 분석하고, 표준에서는 정의하지 않았으나 구현상 필요한 세부 사항들을 정의한다. 그리고 구현 모델을 제시하고 이에 기초하여 보호 시스템을 개발한다. 개발을 위한 환경으로는 USL의 ONP를 사용한다.

Modeling and Simulation of the Photocatalytic Treatment of Wastewater using Natural Bauxite and TiO2 doped by Quantum Dots

  • The photocatalytic degradation of salicylic acid takes place in several stages involving coupled phenomena, such as the transport of molecules and the chemical reaction. The systems of transport equations and the photocatalytic reaction are numerically solved using COMSOL Mutiphysics (CM) simulation software. CM will make it possible to couple the phenomena of flow, the transport of pollutants (salicylic acid) by convection and diffusion, and the chemical reaction to the catalytic area (bauxite or TiO2 doped by nanoparticles). The simulation of the conversion rate allows to correctly fit the experimental results. The temporal simulation shows that the reaction reaches equilibrium after a transitional stage lasting over one minute. The outcomes of the study highlight the importance of diffusion in the boundary layer and the usefulness of injecting micro-agitation into the microchannel flow. Under such conditions, salicylic acid degrades completely.

  • Looking at the recent value change of users and the usage pattern of network users, it is changing from simple web information, one-way information acquisition and data transmission to increase of usage of multimedia, increasing demand for security and customization, and increasing demands for free mobility. Due to this change of demand, the services which were provided individually, developed into a form which is merged, the network also seems to develop into the combined network from the individual network for individual service, and the communication network control technology which is the core technology is also rapidly developing. To reflect the users' demands, the next generation network created the multi-layer network which is based on the WDM/IP transmission system and added the to make it easy to restructure. P-OTS (Packet-Optical Transport System) can be defined as a platform that combines SONET/SDH, Ethernet, DWDM, optical transport network (OTN) switching and reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers (ROADMs). In this paper, we suggested that the optimum path choice be performed through diversification of the PCE-based path selection using the information of various layers altogether in the multi-layer environment, compared with the established path selection method when the path was selected using the information of each layers.

  • This paper demonstrates a case for an end-to-end pure Application Security Layer for reliable and confidential communications within an Internet of Things (IoT) constrained environment. To provide a secure key exchange and to setup a secure data connection, Transport Layer Security (TLS) is used, which provides native protection against replay attacks. TLS along with digital signature can be used to achieve non-repudiation within app-to-app communications. This paper studies the use of TLS over the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) via a The Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) RESTful service to verify the hypothesis that in this way one can provide end-to-end communication flexibility and potentially retain identity information for repudiation. As a proof of concept, a prototype has been developed to simulate an IoT software client with the capability of hosting a CoAP RESTful service. The prototype studies data requests via a network client establishing a TLS over JSON session using a hosted CoAP RESTful service. To prove reputability and integrity of TLS JSON messages, JSON messages was intercepted and verified against simulated MITM attacks. The experimental results confirm that TLS over JSON works as hypothesised.

  • Connected car plays an important role on Intelligent Transport System (ITS). ITS is able to secure drivers' convenience and safety, however, the overall system can be threatened by hacking attempt. Blockchain is one strong candidate of the remedy to promote the security of the ITS network. However, there will be many challenges to adopt previously proposed blockchain technologies to ITS. This work presents a new ITS structure based on blockchain technology. Proposed scheme includes three major layers. The first layer is central manager which is initiated once to register a certain connected car. The third layer is RSU (Road Side Unit) layer which exploits PoS (Proof of Stake) for consortium blockchains and retains real-time information. In addition, this layer performs block expiration based on timers to maintain manageable block length. In the second layer, the generated blocks of the third layer without expiration are housed as private blockchains. We finally demonstrate possible merits of newly proposed scheme.

  • Recently, technologies related to the Internet of Things have developed rapidly and research on mobile environment home network systems is actively in progress. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Working Group proposed the CoAP/6LoWPAN technology as a suitable protocol for internetworking IoT devices with the Internet in a limited environment and adopting it as a standard. However, the existing home network systems hardly include security protocols. IETF recommends DTLS(Datagram Transport Layer Security) on UDP as security protocol suitable for IoT environments. In this paper, smart home network system based on CoAP/6LoWPAN by using DTLS is implemented in mobile environments. The data transfer time is measured according to each procedure of the DTLS protocol and the need to improve DTLS protocol is suggested.
