Through an analyses of the necessity and the practical meaning of the assets operation in railway transport enterprises, the authors argue that a railway transport enterprise shall lay equal stress on assets operation and production management, and suggest to take concrete steps on the basis of the aforesaid management strategy.
This study aims to analyse the ripple effect of Physical distribution service industry on national economy using input-output tables and present the results as data for political plans in this field. For the analysis, it uses input-output tables developed and published by Sank of Korea in 1998, 2000, and 2003. To sum up the results, production inducement effects are 1757 for railroad transport, 1688 for road transport and 1617 for loading. Import inducement effects of assistant services, loading, storage, warehouse and other transport-related services are low while the effects of water and air transport are high as follows: 0.679 and 0.558 respectively. Then, added-value inducement effects are presented as follows: 0.841 for railway transport, 0.828 for road transport, 0.962 for transport assistant service, 0.939 for loading, 0.938 for storage and warehouse, and 0.942 for other transport-related services. Sensitivity dispersion index of road transport is high while that of water transport, storage and warehouse is low. And influence coefficient of railway and road transport is high while that of water and air transport is low. In respect to the employment structure of Physical distribution service industry, 744,000 are employed for road transport industry, which is the largest number, 19,000 for air transport and 20,000 for assistant services, which is the least number.
The purpose of this paper is to suggest a plan on promoting use of multimodal transport logistics terms in Incoterms, 2010. This study deals with the terms of three promotion factors which are a user's subjective factors, a trade transport logistics environment factors, and a term content factors. According to analysis results of the factors, a user's subjective factors(3.87 score) are scored the most ones of promotion factors of using multimodal transport logistics terms in Incoterms, 2010, to be compared with a trade transport logistics environment factors(3.60 score). with a term content factors(3.74 score). Therefore, first of all, it is important to promoting use of multimodal transport logistics terms in Incoterms, 2010 through as follows, a user's subjective factors : (1) to understand correlation of door to door multimodal transport and terms of Incoterms, 2010, (2) to promote use of multimodal transport logistics terms in Incoterms, 2010 in door to door multimodal transport, (3) to restrain customary use of FOB, CFR, CIF terms. And, the next, we have to promote use of multimodal transport logistics terms in Incoterms, 2010 through considering a trade transport logistics environment factors and a term content factors.

Transport sector takes charge of about 20 percent of energy consumption and GHG(Green House Gas) emission in Korea. One of the efficient strategy of reducing GHG is introducing CDM(Clean Development Mechanism), which is one of GHG reduction systems in Kyoto Protocol. Nowadays many tries have done to regist transport policies as CDM in transport sector, however, a lot of things should be investigated to regist CDM in advance. The aim of this paper is assessment of CDM possibility in transport sector. First of all, we review steps and criteria to CDM registration, and select 4 CDM possibility assessment index in transport sector: as follows additionality, methodology, emission calculation, and monitoring. Also, we analyze registed projects and methodologies in transport sector. To assess CDM possibility in transport sector, quantitative and qualitative assessments are carried out in this study. 18 transport policies are categorized as 4 groups and possibility of 18 transport policies are examined. Several policies can reduce GHG, however, they are not fit to regist as a CDM. On the contrary many transport policies have possibility to regist. In addition, we have done questionnaire survey, 'fuel change' policies have high possibility to CDM. However transport policies related to haman activity, like as TOD, have lower possibility. As a result, we can find that enough CDM possibility assessment should be carried out before CDM registration in transport sector.
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a service-aware optical transport system. The proposed service-aware optical transport system makes a flow based on service type and priority of traffic. The generated flow is mapped to a corresponding sub-${\lambda}$ for transport over an optical network. Using sub-${\lambda}$ provided by the centralized control plane, we could effectively provide quality-of-service guaranteed Ethernet service and best-effort service simultaneously in a single link. The committed information rate (CIR) traffic and best-effort traffic are assigned to different sub-${\lambda}s$. The bandwidth of the CIR traffic is guaranteed without being affected by violation traffic because the bandwidth is managed per each sub-${\lambda}$. The failure detection time and restoration time from a link failure is measured to be about 60 ${\mu}s$ and 22 ms, respectively, in the ring network. The measured restoration time is much smaller than the 50 ms industry requirement for real-time services. The fast restoration time allows the proposed service-aware optical transport system to offer high availability and reliability which is a requirement for transport networks.
Unlike the mammalian glucose transporter GLUT1, little is known about the nature of the endogenous sugar transporter(s) in insect cells. In order to establish the transport characteristics and other properties of the sugar transport proteins of Sf9 cells, a series of kinetic analyses was performed. A saturable transport system for hexose uptake has been revealed in the insect cells. The apparent affinity of this transport system(s) for 2-deoxy-D-glucose was relatively high, the $K_m$ for uptake being <0.5 mM. To further investigate the substrate and inhibitor recognition properties of the insect cell transporter, the ability of other sugars or drugs to inhibit 2-deoxy-D-glucose transport was examined by measuring inhibition constants ($K_j$). Transport was inhibited by D-mannose, D-glucose, and D-fructose. However, the apparent affinity of the C-4 epimer, D-galactose, for the Spodoptera transporter was relatively low, implying that the hydroxyl group at the C-4 position may play a role in the strong binding of glucose and mannose to the transporter. The results also showed that transport was stereoselective, being inhibited by D-glucose but not by L-glucose. It is therefore concluded that insect cells contain an endogenous glucose transport activity that in several aspects resembles the human erythrocyte glucose transporter. However, the mammalian and insect transporters were different in some of their kinetic properties, namely, their affinities for fructose and for cytochalasin B.
Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies involve three major stages, i.e., capture, transport, and storage. The transportation stage of CCS technologies has received relatively little attention because the requirements for $CO_2$ transport differ based on the industry-related conditions, geological, and demographical characteristics of each country. In this study, we analyzed the properties of $CO_2$ transport using a pipeline. This study has important implications for ensuring the stability of a long-term CCS as well as the large cost savings, as compared to the small cost ratio as a percentage of the entire CCS system. The state of $CO_2$, network topologies, and node distribution are among the major factors that influence $CO_2$ transport via pipelines. For the analysis of the properties of $CO_2$ transport using a pipeline, the $CO_2$ pipeline connections were visualized by the simulator developed by Lee [11] based on the network topologies in $CO_2$ transport. The case of Korean CCS technologies was applied to the simulation.
