IEEE 802.15.4 standard which has low-speed, low-power, low-cost can be efficiently used in wireless sensor network environment. Among various topologies used in IEEE 802.15.4 standard, a cluster-tree topology which has many nodes in it, transmit delay, energy consumption and data loss due to traffic concentration around the sink node. In this paper, we propose the MRS-DCA algorithm that minimizes conflicts between packets for efficient data transmission, and dynamically allocates the active period for efficient use of limited energy. The MRS-DCA algorithm allocates RP(Reservation Period) to the active period of IEEE 802.15.4 and guarantees reliable data transmission by allocating RP and CAP dynamically which is based on prediction using EWMA. The comparison result shows that the MRS-DCA algorithm reduces power consumption by reducing active period, and increasing transmission rate by avoiding collision.

The FM-QCSK(: Frequency Modulated Quadrature Chaos Shift Keying) system is one of the most efficient systems in chaotic literature. One of the problems in this system is that half the bit duration is used for sending a chaotic reference signal which leads to increase the energy losses and reduces the data rate. In this paper, a novel scheme to enhance the performance of FM-QCSK system has been proposed. With the proposed scheme, FM-QCSK would be able to operate at higher data rates with reduced BER(: Bit Error Rate) and energy consumption. The basic modification introduced by the proposed scheme is the use one reference chaotic signal to transmit multi information signals in both in-phase and quadrature-phase channels. The results showed that the proposed scheme have achieved more than 3 dB gains in SNR for AWGN channels respectively at $BER=10^{-3}$ over the conventional one. The results also showed that the optimum number information signals can be send per reference signal is 8.
Vibrio vulnificus needs various responsive mechanisms to survive and transmit successfully in alternative niches of human and marine environments, and to ensure the acquisition of steady energy supply to facilitate such unique life style. The bacterium had genetic constitution very different from that of Escherichia coli regarding metabolism of glycogen, a major energy reserve. V. vulnificus accumulated more glycogen than other bacteria and at various levels according to culture medium and carbon source supplied in excess. Glycogen was accumulated to the highest level in Luria-Bertani (3.08 mg/mg protein) and heart infusion (4.30 mg/mg protein) complex media supplemented with 1% (w/v) maltodextrin at 3 h into the stationary phase. Regarding effect of carbon source, more glycogen was accumulated when maltodextrin (2.34 mg/mg protein) was added than when glucose or maltose (0.78.1-14 mg/mg protein) was added as an excessive carbon source to M9 minimal medium, suggesting that maltodextrin metabolism might affect glycogen metabolism very closely. These results were supported by the analysis using the malP (encoding a maltodextrin phosphorylase) and malQ (encoding a 4-${\alpha}$-glucanotransferase) mutants, which accumulated much less glycogen than wild type when either glucose or maltodextrin was supplied as an excessive carbon source, but at different levels (3.1-80.3% of wild type glycogen). Therefore, multiple pathways for glycogen metabolism were likely to function in V. vulnificus and that responding to maltodextrin might be more efficient in synthesizing glycogen. All of the glycogen samples from 3 V. vulnificus strains under various conditions showed a narrow side chain length distribution with short chains (G4-G6) as major ones. Not only the comparatively large accumulation volume but also the structure of glycogen in V. vulnificus, compared to other bacteria, may explain durability of the bacterium in external environment.
In this paper, we propose a novel filtering method for processing continuous skyline queries on wireless sensor network environments. The existing filtering methods use the filter based on router paths. However, because these filters are applied not to a whole area but to a partial area, these methods send almost data of sensor nodes to transmit to the base station and have no sufficient effect in terms of energy efficiency. Therefore, we propose an efficient method to dramatically reduce the transmission data of sensors through applying a low-cost and effective filter to all sensor nodes. The proposed effective filter is generated by using characteristics such as the data locality and the clustering of sensors. An extensive performance study verifies the merits of our new method.

East Parts of Bangladesh have been benifited by low cost energy generated by domestic natural gas but West parts where energy generated by imported fuel. Bangladesh Government authority has very much concerned to transmit the low cost electricity to the West from the East for past several years. To solve such concerns, cross-country 230kv double circuits Power transmission line was proposed, however there was a big obstacle for the realization of this line to cross the Jamuna river which has 12 km long width with a deep muddy river bed. A consultant engineering firm named Merz-Mclellan anyway finalized this plan and a world-wide bid was announced on June 31, 1979. Due to the expected difficulty to construct the towers on sea like area, only three construction groups have participated. including a Korean joint venture organization of Samsung-Korean Developement corporation-Kolon Electric Machinery company. After 3 months bid evaluation, contract was awarded to Korean Consosium and KEM Co was in charge of designing steel towers with anchor bolts and base plates beside to electrical engineering field. Then KEM Co have faced and over-comed many unenpected technical difficulties such as forced eccentricity joint on base plate, distorsion issue of 60mm thick plates welding, threading anchor bolts, tad heat treatment of some anchor bolts, disagreement from Consultant Engineer on multiplying factor of leg stresses for 45$^{\circ}$ wind and on reducing O.L.F for wind loads on cables for such 1220km long spans. After spending two years long period for designing and engineering towers, base plates, and anchor bolts, first shipment of tower was finally realized on Nov. 8, 1981 and on the other hand KDD has proceeded concrete caisson work on schedule at Jamuna river site and expected to complete tower erection and stringing of cables within this year of 1982 which was original completion target.

Data-centric storage schemes(DCS) are one of representative researches that efficiently store and manage sensor readings in sensor nodes in the sensor networks. In DCS, a sensor sends the sensed data to a specific node in order to store them. However, it has a problem that sensor nodes consume a lot of energy for transmitting their readings to remote sensor node. In this paper, we propose a novel sensor data compression algorithm to reduce communication costs. The proposed algorithm does not transmit all the sensed data and establishes a safe region. It transmits the sensed data only when current measurement is out of the safe region, As a result, the propposed algorithm extends network life time and reduces data transmission. It is shown through performance evaluation that our proposed algorithm reduces energy consumption by about 60% over the conventional algorithm.

In this paper, we propose a method for improving the lifetime of the sensor network SEP through the wireless sensor network divided into two spaces by reducing the transmission distance of the cluster head in the layer in the distance. With reference to the position information of the node, the base station divides the layer based on the midpoint of the nearest node and the furthest distance away from the base station node. And the cluster head in the outer layer far from the base station is transmitted the data to the base station via the cluster head in the inner layer base station to transmit data. That is, we are proposed the layered SEP by reducing the transmission distance of the cluster head in the outer layer for the energy consumption to a minimum. The proposed algorithm is verified by comparison with the existing SEP.

A district heating(DH) system supplies environmentally-friend heat and is appropriate for reduction of energy consumption and/or air pollutions. The DH transmission pipe, composed of supply and return pipes, has been used to transmit the heat and prevent heat loss during transportation. The two types of pipes are operated at a temperature of $75\~115^{\circ}C\;and\;40\~65^{\circ}C$, respectively, with an operating pressure of less than 1.568MPa. The objectives of this paper are to systematize data processing of transition temperature and investigate its effects on fatigue life of DH pipes. For the sake of this, about 5 millions temperature data were measured during one year at ten locations, and then available fatigue lift estimation schemes were examined and applied to quantify the specific thermal fatigue life of each pipe. As a result, a relational database management system as well as reliable fatigue lift evaluation procedures is established for Korean DH pipes. Also, since the prototypal evaluation results satisfied both cycle-based and stress-based fatigue criteria, those can be used as useful information in the future fer optimal design, operation and energy saving via setting of efficient condition and stabilization of water temperature.

The Smart plug is a device that connects between the outlet and the product at home, and it is an IoT type device that can drive energy saving and transmit information to the outside by power on / off control function and power measurement function. In this case, a smart plug that incorporates deep learning of intelligence technology that allows people to learn how to think about a computer, automatically classifies a product as it operates, and automatically tests the operating status of the washing machine by using input AC current pattern. Through this study, even if the product does not function as IoT, it can classify product type and operation state by smart plug connection alone, so we can draw a new paradigm of life pattern and energy saving in one family.

In a traditional phased array radar, closely spaced antenna elements transmit a scaled version of single waveform to maximize the signal energy. On the contrary, a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar consists of widely separated antennas and transmits an arbitrary waveform from each antenna element. These waveforms and spatial diversity enable superior capabilities compared with phased array radar. At high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the detection performance of the MIMO radar is better than the phased array radar due to the diversity gains. However, the phased array radar outperforms the MIMO radar at low SNR, due to the energy maximization. In this paper, we investigate the compromised scheme between the MIMO radar and the phased array radar. Employing the MIMO radar equipped with phased array elements, the compromised scheme achieves both array gain and diversity gain. Also, we compare the performance degradation when the steering direction is incorrect.
