CPW와 개방 스터브가 병렬 연결된 전송선로를 이용한 비대칭 이중대역 Wilkinson 분배기 (Unequal Dualband Wilkinson Divider Using CPW and Shunt Connected Open Stub Transmission Lines)

  • 본 논문은 CPW와 개방 스터브가 병렬 연결된 전송선로를 사용하여 높은 분배 비율의 비대칭 이중대역 분배기를 나타내었다. 이중대역 설계 방정식에 의하여 계산된 전송선로의 구현은 낮은 임피던스의 전송선로는 짧은 선로와 병렬로 개방 스터브가 주기적으로 연결된 형태로 그리고, 높은 임피던스 전송선로는 CPW 선로 형태로 구현하였다. 이러한 두 종류 전송선로를 이용한 이중대역 분배기의 설계방법의 타당성을 확인하기 위해서 중심 주파수가 1 GHz와 2 GHz인 10:1 비대칭 이중대역 전력분배기를 제작하였고, 이것의 측정 결과 특성이 시뮬레이션과 동일함을 확인하였다.

Research on the Performance of Protocols and the Evaluation Metric for VIDEO Transmissions in an Ad Hoc Network

  • Video transmission effectiveness in the Ad Hoc network is becoming important recently, if different routing protocols are applied. Some researchers conclude that the reactive protocols are better for file transfer protocol (FTP) and constant bit rate (CBR) or hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) transmission in an Ad Hoc wireless network but the performance report of video transmission is not much. This study adopts Qualnet (Network Simulator) as a simulation tool for environmental designing and performance testing, and employs an experimental design with eight groups. Our experiment shows that: (1) The performance of AODV (reactive) protocol is better than DSDV, ZRP and DSR when the transmission load has only one video stream; (2) Proactive (DSDV) and Hybrid protocols (ZRP) are better for a smaller Ad Hoc network when it transmits a video stream with some applications (VoIP, FTP and CBR). We conclude that packet loss rate is sensitive to the quality of video transmission and it has negative relationship with Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) value. In addition, our experiment also shows that PSNR is a simple Metric for the performance evaluation of video transmission.

투과형 홀로그램과 반사형 홀로그램에서의 Bragg detuning 현상에 대한 연구 (Study for the Bragg Detuning Effects on the Transmission Holograms and the Reflection Holograms)

  • Bragg detuning effect if, one of the serious problems if the photopolymer is used for the recording material of holography memories. And the critical reasons of that are known as the bulk refractive index change and shrinkage of recording material. However, the trials for analyzing the effect are mainly on the K-sphere and biased on the transmission hologram. So, we approached Bragg detuning effect numerically and applied the method to the transmission holograms and the reflection holograms all together. We simulated it with MATLAB. As a result, the bulk refractive index change causes+Bragg detuning effect on the transmission holograms and the reflection holograms. But the shrinkage leads to+Bragg detuning effect on the transmission hologram and-Bragg detuning effect on the reflective hologram. Compared to experimental result, the bulk refractive index change(${\fallingdotseq}4{\times}10^{-4}$) and the ratio of shrinkage to the thickness of the material(${\fallingdotseq}1.67{\times}10^{-3}$) could be matched with Bragg detuning effect on the transmission hologram and the reflection hologram.

Collapse simulations of a long span transmission tower-line system subjected to near-fault ground motions

  • Observations from past strong earthquakes revealed that near-fault ground motions could lead to the failure, or even collapse of electricity transmission towers which are vital components of an overhead electric power delivery system. For assessing the performance and robustness, a high-fidelity three-dimension finite element model of a long span transmission tower-line system is established with the consideration of geometric nonlinearity and material nonlinearity. In the numerical model, the Tian-Ma-Qu material model is utilized to capture the nonlinear behaviours of structural members, and the cumulative damage D is defined as an index to identify the failure of members. Consequently, incremental dynamic analyses (IDAs) are conducted to study the collapse fragility, damage positions, collapse margin ratio (CMR) and dynamic robustness of the transmission towers by using twenty near-fault ground motions selected from PEER. Based on the bending and shear deformation of structures, the collapse mechanism of electricity transmission towers subjected to Chi-Chi earthquake is investigated. This research can serve as a reference for the performance of large span transmission tower line system subjected to near-fault ground motions.

Performance Analysis Based on RAU Selection and Cooperation in Distributed Antenna Systems

  • In this paper, the downlink performance of multi-cell distributed antenna systems (DAS) with a single user in each cell is investigated. Assuming the channel state information is available at the transmitter, four transmission modes are formulated as combinations of remote antenna units (RAUs) selection and cooperative transmission, namely, non-cooperative transmission without RAU selection (NCT), cooperative transmission without RAU selection (CT), non-cooperative transmission with RAU selection (NCT_RAUS), and cooperative transmission with RAU selection (CT_RAUS). By using probability theory, the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of a user's signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) and the system ergodic capacity under the above four modes are determined, and their closed-form expressions are obtained. Furthermore, the system energy efficiency (EE) is studied by introducing a realistic power consumption model of DAS. An expression for determining EE is formulated, and the closed-form tradeoff relationship between spectral efficiency (SE) and EE is derived as well. Simulation results demonstrate their consistency with the theoretical analysis and reveal the factors constraining system EE, which provide a scientific basis for future design and optimization of DAS.

안테나 선택을 이용한 Grassmannian Beamforming 기반의 MIMO-OFDMA 시스템 (A MIMO-OFDMA System Based on Grassmannian Beamforming with Antenna Selection)

  • 본 논문에서는 미래형 이동통신 시스템에서 셀 경계와 같이 반송파대간섭전력비 (Carrier-to-Interference Ratio; CIR)가 낮은 열악한 채널 환경에서 하향링크 실시간 트래픽의 전송 성능 개선을 위한 안테나 선택을 이용한 Grassmannian Beamforming 기반의 MIMO-OFDMA (Multi Input Multi Output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) 시스템을 본 저자들은 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 Beamforming 적용으로 인한 상향링크로의 과도한 궤환 정보량이 시스템 주파수 효율 성능을 떨어뜨리는 문제점을 보완하기 위해 Codebook 기반의 Grassmannian Beamforming을 적용하고, 이와 더불어 기지국의 모든 송신 안테나를 사용하지 않고 특정 안테나만을 사용하여 Codebook Size를 줄이면서도 주파수 효율 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 안테나 선택 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 Beamforming을 수행하기 위해 최대 MRT(Maximum Ratio Transmission) 이득을 가지는 최적의 송신 안테나 조합이 선택된다. 모의실험 결과, 제안된 시스템은 기지국의 모든 안테나를 사용하여 Beamforming을 수행한 경우보다 향상된 주파수 효율 성능을 보이며, 상향링크의 궤환 정보량을 감안하더라도 Pseudo-Orthogonal Space Time Block Code를 사용하는 전형적인 개방루프형 MIMO-OFDMA 시스템에 비해 낮은 CIR 영역에서 월등히 개선된 주파수 효율 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

Duty Ratio Predictive Control Scheme for Digital Control of DC-DC Switching Converters

  • The control loop time delay caused by sampling, the zero-order-holder effect and calculations is inevitable in the digital control of dc-dc switching converters. The time delay will limit the bandwidth of the control loop and therefore degrade the transient performance of digital systems. In this paper, the quantization time delay effects with different time delay values based on a generic second-order system are analyzed. The conclusion that the bandwidth of digital control is reduced by about 20% with a one cycle delay and by 50% with two cycles of delay in comparison with no time delay is obtained. To compensate the time delay and to increase the control loop bandwidth, a duty ratio predictive control scheme based on linear extrapolation is proposed. The compensation effect and a comparison of the load variation transient response characteristics with analogy control, conventional digital control and duty ratio predictive control with different time delay values are performed on a point-of-load Buck converter by simulations and experiments. It is shown that, using the proposed technique, the control loop bandwidth can be increased by 50% for a one cycle delay and 48.2% for two cycles of delay when compared to conventional digital control. Simulations and experimental results prove the validity of the conclusion of the quantization effects of the time delay and the proposed control scheme.

타이어 보강용 고 탄소강 미세 강선의 굽힘 피로 성질에 미치는 미세 조직의 영향 (The Effects of Microstrucutral Parameters on Bending Fatigue Properties of Heavily Drawn Pearlitic Steel Filaments used for Automotive Tires)

  • Influences of microstructure on high-cycle fatigue (HCF) limit of high carbon $(>0.7wt.\;\%)$ steel filaments used for tires have been investigated. A series of the fatigue tests was carried out depending on carbon content by using Hunter-type tester at a frequency of 60 Hz at a tension/compression stress of 900 to 1500 MPa. Microstructural changes of the filaments were identified in the lateral direction by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). It was found that the mechanical properties, such as fatigue limit and tensile strength, were improved with increasing carbon content, which was mainly attributed to decreased lamellar spacing and cementite thickness. However, the fatigue ratio, which is defined as the ratio of the fatigue limit to the tensile strength, was reduced in a higher carbon range of 0.8 to $0.9\;wt.\%$, while the fatigue ratio was nearly constant in a lower carbon range of 0.7 to $0.8\;wt.\%$. Overall mechanical properties of the filaments, depending on carbon content, have been discussed in terms of the microstructural parameter change of lamellar spacing and cementite thickness. In addition, the variation of cementite morphology on the fatigue crack propagation of high carbon $(0.9wt.\;\%)$ filaments will be discussed.

동축 마그네틱 기어의 고 기어비 적용을 위한 다중 기어 조합분석 (Multi-gear Combination Analysis for High Gear Ratio of Coaxial Magnetic Gear)

  • 동축 마그네틱 기어는 비접촉 동력전달을 사용하기 때문에 기존 기계식 기어의 동력전달과정에서 발생하는 마찰, 마모, 소음, 발열을 최소화할 수 있다. 현재 다양한 산업에 적용하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으나 동축 마그네틱 기어가 갖는 특징 중, 높은 기어비에서 토크밀도가 급격히 감소하는 문제가 거론되었다. 본 논문은 높은 토크밀도를 갖는 저 기어비 동축 마그네틱 기어를 이용하여, 이들을 다중으로 결합하는 방향을 제시하였다. 해당 방법의 유효성을 확인하기 위해 단일형태의 고 기어비 모델과 토크밀도를 비교하고 다중 동축 마그네틱 기어의 기어비 조합을 분석함으로써 가장 우수한 조합을 선정하는 설계 방향을 나타내었다.

CooRP: 모바일 Ad-hoc 무선 센서 네트워크에서 협력 라우팅 프로토콜 (CooRP: A Cooperative Routing Protocol in Mobile Ad-hoc Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 레일리페이딩 환경의 모바일 Ad-hoc 무선 센서네트워크에서 네트워크 컨버젼스 및 전송 효율 서비스를 효과적으로 지원하기 위한 협력 라우팅 프로토콜 (CooRP)을 제안한다. 제안된 CooRP의 주요한 특징 및 기여도는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 라우팅 경로들은 방향성 안내 라인 영역 내에서 노드들의 이동성 정보를 이용한 엔트로피 개념 기반 위에서 설정되며, 경로 설정을 위한 컨트롤 오버헤드를 줄일 수 있다. 둘째, 페킷 전송 효율을 증가시키기 위해서 설정된 라우팅 경로에 기반을 둔 향상된 SNR을 지원할 수 있는 협력 데이터 전송 전략이 사용된다. 셋째, 제안된 CooRP의 협력전송에 대한 이론적인 분석이 outage probability를 가지고 이루어진다. 제안된 CooRP의 성능평가는 OPNET을 사용한 시뮬레이션과 이론적 분석을 통하여 이루어진다. 성능평가를 통하여 제안된 프로토콜은 안정된 경로 설정 및 협력 전송을 통한 데이터 전송효율을 효과적으로 증가 시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
