Improving the Performance of AODV(-PGB) based on Position-based Routing Repair Algorithm in VANET

  • Vehicle ad hoc networks (VANET) are one of the most important technologies to provide various ITS services. While VANET requires rapid and reliable transmission, packet transmission in VANET is unstable because of high mobility. Many routing protocols have been proposed and assessed to improve the efficiency of VANET. However, topology-based routing protocols generate heavy overhead and long delay, and position-based routing protocols have frequent packet loss due to inaccurate node position. In this paper, we propose a position-based routing repair algorithm to improve the efficiency of VANET. This algorithm is proposed based on the premise that AODV (-PGB) can be used effectively in VANET, if the discovery, maintenance and repair mechanism of AODV is optimized for the features of VANET. The main focus of this algorithm is that the relay node can determine whether its alternative node exits and judge whether the routing path is disconnected. If the relay node is about to swerve from the routing path in a multi-hop network, the node recognizes the possibility of path loss based on a defined critical domain. The node then transmits a handover packet to the next hop node, alternative nodes and previous node. The next node repairs the alternative path before path loss occurs to maintain connectivity and provide seamless service. We simulated protocols using both the ideal traffic model and the realistic traffic model to assess the proposed algorithm. The result shows that the protocols that include the proposed algorithm have fewer path losses, lower overhead, shorter delay and higher data throughput compared with other protocols in VANET.

  • 실제 시스템 적용에 있어서, 수중음향 통신(underwater acoustic communication)에 기반한 이종 해양로봇의 협력제어(coordinated control)를 위한 경로 계획 및 추종(path planning and following) 시스템은 다음의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 즉, 수상 및 수중로봇은 기동 특성이 상이하며, 수중로봇은 더욱 효과적인 운용이 요구되며, 음파의 전달 손실(Transmission Loss : TL)로 통신 거리 제한을 가지며, 음파의 도플러 변형(Doppler distortion)으로 통신 오류를 갖는다. 나아가, 구조와 파라메터의 관점에 있어서 용이한 설계 절차를 요구한다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위해서 시스템 모델링에 기초하여 진화 전략(Evolution Strategy : ES) 및 퍼지논리 제어기(Fuzzy Logic Controller : FLC)를 이용하는 지능형 경로 계획 및 추종 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하기 위해 수상로봇의 기동에 따른 수중로봇의 경로 계획 및 추종이 수행되었다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안된 알고리즘이 제기된 문제점들을 효과적으로 해결하고 있음을 보여준다.

  • The surface intensity method is a relatively new tool which can identify the noise source or path and measure the radiation power. One microphone and one accelerometer are used in this new technique. In this study, this new technique has been used to measure the field transmission loss trough doors. The results of the experiment indicate that the surface intensity method produces reliable data and can be applied to the transmission loss measurement.

  • The purpose of this research was to assess gender differences in the processes of intergenerational transmission of marital instability. This study revealed gender differences in the intergenerational transmission of marital instability. The fit indices suggest that the hypothesized model fit better for the female sample. Parental divorce marital quality and marital commitment were significant predictors of marital instability for both genders. Parental divorce was a strong predictor of marital quality for women only. While the path between age difference and marital quality for females was strong the same association disappeared for their male counterparts.

  • In this paper, it is analyzed the statistical characteristics on the transmission performance of the optical SCM transmission in the CDMA RF signal relay system. Using Mach-Zehnder modulator, optical signal is regenerated into CDMA RF signal. Transfer function model of mach-Zehnder modulator is approximated to the third power of the input signal using Taylor series. BER results are analyzed under the multiple access interference and multi-path fading environment.

  • 배터리를 기반으로 동작하는 센서 노드들로 구성된 센서 네트워크(S두낵 Network)는 에너지의 효율적인 사용이 가장 큰 이슈이다. 센서 네트워크의 MAC 프로토콜도 에너지 효율성을 고려하여 설계되고 있으며, 일반적인 접근방법은 listen/sleep 모드를 주기적으로 반복하는 것이다. 그러나, 데이터 전송과정에서 수신 노드의 Sleep으로 인하여 즉시 다음 이웃 노드로 데이터를 전송할 수 없는 데이터 전송지연이 필연적으로 발생한다. 본 논문은 에너지 효율성을 고려하면서 데이터 전송지연을 최소화하는 DT-MAC(Data Transmission Centric MAC)을 제안한다. DT-MAC에서 데이터를 수신한 수신 노드는 데이터 수신과 연관된 sleep 모드 중 잔여 sleep 기간을 데이터 전송이 가능한 pseudo_listen 기간으로 전환한다. pseudo_listen 기간에서는 데이터 전송이 가능하므로 sleep 모드로 인한 데이터 전송지연을 가능한 최소화 할 수 있다. 따라서 DT-MAC은 에너지 효율성을 제공하면서 재난 및 화재 경보와 같은 실시간 센싱 데이터를 요구하는 센서 네트워크의 응용에 적합한 MAC 프로토콜이다.

  • 링크상에 대역폭과 지연 제약들이 존재하는 네트워크 상에서 Quickest Path 는 소스에서 목적지 까지 크기가 ${\sigma}$인 메시지를 전송하는데 최소지연을 보장한다. 본 논문은 Circuit Switching, Stop and Forward. 그리고 이것들의 조합으로 이루어진 메커니즘을 반영하는 노드들에서의 메시지 전달을 위한 6가지의 전송 모드들을 고려한다. 처음 5개의 각 모드에 대해, 크기가 ${\sigma}$인 메시지의 전송을 위한 Quickest Path를 계산하는 O($m^2+mnlogn$)시간 알고리즘을 소개한다. 그리고 마지막 모드에 대해 O(m+nlogn) 시간 안에 Quickest path를 계산하는 알고리즘을 소개한다.

  • Tractor is a farm vehicle that is designed to provide a high tractive effort at low speed. It is used for versatile agricultural tasks such as hauling a trailer, tillage, mowing and construction work. Most older tractors use a manual transmission. However, as the intensity of work increases, tractors equipped with automatic transmission become popular due to the work convenience. In order to give the operator a large degree of control in field work, 24 gears with automatic 8-speed and manual 3-speed are arranged in transmission. This paper deals with the gear train that is designed for 8-speed automatic transmission by the engagement of multi-disk clutches. The gear ratio for each speed as well as power transmission mechanism is analyzed through velocity analysis. In addition, constraints of mesh gear ratio are derived by investigating the power flow path in velocity diagram for the given 8-speed gear ratio.

건설중장비용 카운터샤프트 자동변속기 기어열 레이아웃 설계 (Design of Counter Shaft Automatic Transmission Gear Train Layout for Construction Vehicles)

  • Counter shaft transmission is a popular automatic transmission power train in construction vehicles such as wheel loader and forklift. The gear train layout of counter shaft transmission is a very basic and important development stage because it affects the most of components design including hydraulic system and shift control algorithm, etc. This paper presents a design methodology for the gear train layout from the analysis of power flow path and clutch hook-up of the existing counter shaft transmission that is adopted in commercialized construction vehicles. Also, independent constraints for the meshed gear ratios are derived in order to realize forward 4-speed and reverse 3-speed gear ratio. The layout design principle proposed here was applied to the new original counter shaft transmission that is underdevelopment.
