It is desirable that the implementation of next generation information infrastructure is the Integrated Network combining the satellite and the terrestrial network. The application of the ATM network being the dominant infrastrure of terrestrial network to the satellite network is being studied variously. Considering these concepts, this paper analyzes due to ATM transport via satellite, evaluates the degradation of QoS and proposes reliable method of ATM cell transport via satellite. Because ATM is investigated with the optical fiber which is almost error free characteristics, the practical application of ATM transport via satellite essentially need the channel coding(FEC:Forward Error Correction) to enhance BER performance. But using the FEC coding, satellite link has burst error characteristics which evoke severe performance degradation fo ATM QoS. Therefore in satellite link, we analyze burst error characteristics using experimental results of computer simulation. Then to compensate these characteristics, based on this analysis and HEC dual mode algorithm we propose various interleaver structures(Block interleaver, Intra interlever, and Inter-Intra interleaver) to improve cell transmission QoS. We execute performance evaluations of iterleaver structures by computer simulation.
The power train of hydro-mechanical continuously variable transmission (HMCVT) for 8-ton class forklift includes hydro-static units, hydraulic multi-wet disc brake & clutches and complex helical & planetary gears. The helical & planetary gears are key components of HMCVT's power train wherein strength problems are the main concerns including gear bending stress, gear compressive stress, and scoring failure. Many failures in power train gears of HMCVT are due to the insufficient gear strength and resonance problems caused by major excitation forces, such as gear transmission error of mating gear fair in the transmission. In this study, wherein excitation frequencies are the gear tooth passing frequencies of the mating gears, a Campbell diagram is used to calculate the power train gears' critical speeds. Mode shapes and natural frequencies of the power train gears are calculated by CATIA V5. These are used to predict resonance failures by comparing the actual working speed range with the critical speeds due to the gear transmission errors of HMCVT's power train gears.

This study was to develop a simulation model of a compound planetary gear reducer for the final driving shaft using a gear analysis software (KISSsoft, Version 2017, KISSsoft AG, Switzerland). The aim of this study is to analyze transmission error and the tooth load distribution through micro-geometry using the simulation model. The tip and root relief were modified with Micro-geometry in the profile direction, and crowning was modified with Micro-geometry in the lead direction. The transmission error was analyzed using the PPTE (Peak to Peak Transmission Error) value, and the tooth load distribution was analyzed for the concentrated stress on the tooth surface. As a result of modifying tip and relief in the profile direction, the transmission error was reduced up to 40.7%. In the case of modifying crowning in the lead direction, the tooth load was more evenly distributed than before and decreased the stress on the tooth surface. After modifying the profile direction for the 1st and 2nd planetary gear train, the bending and contact safety factors were increased by 31.7% and 17%, and 18.3% and 12.5% respectively. Moreover, the bending and safety factors after modifying lead direction were increased by 59.5% and 32.7%, respectively for the 1st planetary gear train, and 59.6% and 43.6%, respectively for the 2nd planetary gear train. In future studies, the optimal design of a compound planetary gear reducer for the final driving shaft is needed considering both the transmission error and tooth load distribution.

Even through the problem of misalignment is of great importance, not much work has been reported in the literature on the effect of misalignment on the vibrations of the gear-bearing systems. Therefore, the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the gear drive system due to misalignment are investigated in this work. Transmission error for helical gear and bearing nonlinear stiffness is calculated. The equation of motion of the gear drive system is modelled using the time-varying gear meshing stiffness, bearing nonlinear stiffness, and bearing pre-load due to the housing deformation. Numerical analysis lot the gear drive system show the result of misalignment effect - sub-harmonic component, bearing pre-load effect, and another nonlinear phenomenon. And the numerical analysis are verified by the experimental result.

The area of gear dynamics has recently been the focus of many studies. A new tooth profile modification was proposed by author for reducing vibration and noise of involute gears. A comparative dynamic analysis of the gear drive with the involute tooth and the modified tooth profile(using cubic splines) is performed to the unuformal transmission error reduces the gear vibration and noise due to less dynamic tooth load variation during the meshing cycle. This work also include a gear design process by the meaning of a practical approach, such as Win95 based simulation program with all using basic geardesign variables. Especially this program enables gear designers to dynamic analysis based on G.U.I.

A six-degree-of-freedom dynamic model with time-varying mesh stiffness/damping and friction has been developed for the dynamic analysis of a gear driving system. This model includes a spur gear pair, bearing, friction and prime mover. Using Newton???s method, equations of motion for the gear driving system were derived. Two computer programs are developed to calculate mesh stiffness, transmission error and friction force and analyze the dynamics of the modeled system using a time integration method. The influences of mesh stiffness/damping, bearing, and friction affecting the system were investigated by performing eigenvalue analysis and time response analysis. It is found that the reduction of the maximum peak magnitude by friction is decided according to designing the positions of pitch point and maximum peak in the responses.

The purpose of this study is to develop a computer simulation program for analyzing load transmission characteristics of a helical gear system in design stage. In this analysis, the rotational delay, load distribution, root stress, and contact area are investigated. That is, the influence function of deflection is obtained by finite element analysis and the influence function of approach and gear tooth error are considered. Load distribution, rotational delay, and contact area are calculated by solving load-deflection equation which includes these influence functions and tooth error, and the influence function of the bending moment is obtained by finite element analysis. The root stress is calculated by the load distribution and the influence function of the bending moment. The results of the simulation are cross-checked through a specially designed experimental set-up.

In this paper presents equations which describe an average weighted spectrum of errors and average block error probabilities for noncoherent frequency shift keying (NCFSK) used in D-branch maximal ratio combining (MRC) diversity in independent very slow nonselective Nakagami fading channels. The average is formed over the instantaneous receiver signal to noise ratio (SNR) after combining. the analysis is limited to additive Gaussian noise.
This paper investigates the performance of interference-limited two-way transmission protocols in the Rayleigh fading channels. New lower bound of outage probability and approximate expression of bit error rate (BER) for three-phase two-way relaying (3P-TWR) protocol are derived in closed-form. These expressions are valid for arbitrary signal-to-noise ratio values, numbers of co-channel interferers and amajority of modulation formats employed in the practical system. Then a comparative study is developed for the performance of three two-way transmission protocols, i.e., direct transmission (DT) protocol, two-phase two-way relaying (2P-TWR) protocol and 3P-TWR protocol based on the asymptotic expressions of outage probability and BER. On the basis of the theoretical results, the thresholds on the strength (variance) of direct channel and target rate for the relative performance of different protocols are obtained and the effect of interferences at the terminal and relay on the relative performance is analyzed. The results present key insights on how to choose proper two-way transmission protocol with the knowledge of fading channels, required date rate and modulation format to optimize the system performance in the practical interference-limited scenarios. Simulation results are presented to validate the theoretical analysis.

Finite element analysis is widely used to predict the structural stability and tooth contact performance of gears. This study focused on the effect of finite element modeling conditions of a spur gear on the simulation result and the model simplification. The gear body and teeth, teeth width, configuration of mesh, frictional coefficient, and simulation time interval (gear mesh cycle division) were selected for model simplification for gear analysis. The static transmission error during a single-gear mesh cycle was calculated to represent the performance of the gear, and the elapsed time was measured as a simplification factor. Contact stress distribution was also checked. The differences in maximum transmission error and elapsed time depending on the model simplification methods were analyzed. After all simplification methods were estimated, an optimal combination of the methods was defined, and the result was compared with that of the most detailed modeling methods.
