The aeroacoustic noise from intake head of a vacuum cleaner is caused by complicated transient pressure fluctuation and it greatly affects the overall SPL of the vacuum cleaner. In this study, we intended to decrease the overall SPL by reducing the aeroacoustic noise from intake head. In the first the place, we analyzed the aeroacoustic noise from the unsteady fluid analysis of intake head. And then, we grasped the dominant frequency band from the aeroacoustic noise by comparing the spectrum distributions between examinations and analyses. Also, we systematically investigated the aeroacoustic noise sources from each part composing the intake head. Consequently, we redesigned each part of the dominant noise sources and suggested the modified intake head, resulting in the reduction ortho overall SPL by 3.6dB(A).

In this paper, 3-dimensional numerical model of an escalator is developed to study the vibration characteristics. This proposed model is able to consider the elastic deformation of the frame during transient dynamic analysis. Deformation modes which are used to calculate the elastic deformation are selected from the FE model analysis. Because low frequency vibration is very important to the ride quality of fore/aft direction, low frequency deformation modes of the frame below 20Hz are considered. To show validity of this dynamics model, longitudinal acceleration of a step is compared with test data in frequency domain. Then robust design technique is applied to determine important design factors and improve ride quality with small number of experiments.

Flow pulsation often causes vibration and noise in piping systems and therefore has been a troublesome concern for fluid system engineers. According to frequency increase in this paper under the influence wave form of velocity in springly flow and viscosity are drop coefficient of viscosity become increase so that impedance and resistance. The transient variations of flow rate are measured by a modified impedance tube method which is realized by virtue of the present analytical technique. At pipe line in order to eliminate vibration, confirm happened intermittently impedance characteristics. We make a test and frequency analysis and have to minimize obstructive component at hydraulic circuit.

A finite element model for the transient dynamic analysis of a PWR fuel assembly was developed and programmed as a name of DAMASS. The Newmark time integration method was used to solve the governing equation of motion. Results of the program was compared with those of ANSYS in terms of displacement and impact forces to show the validity of the model. Up to now it has capability of solving the linear impact of FA(s) and it will be extended to the non-linear analysis of a FA in the future.

Shock-resistance test for a real equipment for a normal vessel is one of the difficult problem in many cases because of terrible cost and weight. An analysis technique to evaluate the shock resistance in a design stage is necessary, instead In this paper, the process to evaluate the shock resistance of a propulsion motor for naval vessels was presented based on German navy's BV043 regulation. The shock signal to impose the equipment under the test was first evaluated, and was then applied to the structural FE model of the equipment. From the transient FEA, the time history of von-Mises stress was obtained by the mode superposition method. The shock resistance was evaluated using the peak value of the von-Mises stress.

The impact sound of the golf club is one of the major factors to purchase it. Sound quality metrics has been mostly developed for harmonic sounds. Sound quality evaluation techniques for the impact sound have been contrived in this study. Jury test, one of the typical subjective evaluation scheme, is carried out for evaluating the sound quality of 13 different golf drivers, which classification results are assumed to be correct answers. Conventional objective evaluation methods such as Zwicker loudness sensory pleasantness are calculated. Wavelet analysis and instantaneous loudness are applied in order to evaluate the sound quality of transient sounds, which scheme shows better correlation with the results from jury test.

In this paper the nonstationary response of accelerating vehicle is firstly obtained by using nonstationary road roughness model in time domain. To get the result of nonstationary response in frequency domain, the maximum entropy method is used for Processing nonstationary response of vehicle in frequency domain. The three-dimensional transient maximum entropy spectrum (MES) of response is given.
This paper presents dynamic characteristics in Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) with rotor eccentricity and proposes the reduction method of rotor eccentricity effects by the different winding connections. These characteristics investigations are computed by 2D transient magnetic FEM analysis coupled with external circuits. The radial and unbalance magnetic force in the stator, which is the main exciting force of the vibration, is calculated using Maxwell stress method and compared with the performance characteristics according to the serial and parallel connections of windings. The influence of winding method counteracting unbalance forces on the rotor vibration behavior is estimated by the current waveforms of the paralleled paths under rotor eccentricity.
Human-induced vibration could present a serious serviceability problem for large-span and/or lightweight floors using the high-strength material. This paper presents the results of heel-drop, jumping, and walking tests on a large-span composite steel rebar truss-reinforced concrete (CSBTRC) floor. The effects of human activities on the floor vibration behavior were investigated considering the parameters of peak acceleration, root-mean-square acceleration, maximum transient vibration value (MTVV), fundamental frequency, and damping ratio. The measured field test data were validated with the finite element and theoretical analysis results. A comprehensive comparison between the test results and current design codes was carried out. Based on the classical plate theory, a rational and simplified formula for determining the fundamental frequency for the CSBTRC floor is derived. Secondly, appropriate coefficients (βrp) correlating the MTVV with peak acceleration are suggested for heel-drop, jumping, and walking excitations. Lastly, the linear oscillator model (LOM) is adopted to establish the governing equations for the human-structure interaction (HSI). The dynamic characteristics of the LOM (sprung mass, equivalent stiffness, and equivalent damping ratio) are determined by comparing the theoretical and experimental acceleration responses. The HSI effect will increase the acceleration response.

One of the trends on information storage device is focused on the development of micro-optical devices with OFH (Optical Flying Head). Many different types of sliders for OFH and optical component systems have been introduced in the literature. However, the important issue on the mechanical system, which consists of suspension, swing arm and VCM (Voice Coil Motor) part has not been discussed up to date. In this research, we analyses the suspension, which is used for the small form factor MO drive. The analysis is in process two ways. One is probabilistic analysis, another is dynamic shock analysis. Probabilistic analysis is a technique you can use to assess the effect of uncertain input parameters and assumptions on your analysis model. Using a probabilistic analysis you can and out how much the results of a finite elements analysis are affected by uncertainties in the model. Dynamic shock analysis is used for the mobile applications. The mechanical robustness of the suspension simulating the shock responses of a disk-suspension is proposed in this paper.
