DAS and SCADA system are main systems, which operate and manage the power system by using computer and communication technology. But DAS and SCADA have been operated independently in Korea, so there was some time delay in the fault handling and live-line work. To improve that problems, studies on the interface between DAS and SCADA have been needed. From November 2005 to December 2007, the pilot project has been performed in KEPCO's branch offices, as a result, direct method will be applied widely all over the country until 2010 because the operation information of substation users want can be transmitted fast and it is possible to control 43RC directly although the expense for direct method is about 1.3 times larger than that for web method. To improve problems revealed during the pilot project, substation object to object communication method is proposed and interface database automatic generation and interface system diagnosis and logging functions are developed. Interface data point and communication data type are defined, substation single line diagram automatic generation or manual editing function, SCADA monitoring and controlling function, log data managing function are developed in SCADA HMI program. It is expecting to reduce the average time for each outage about 33% and to improve the reliability, efficiency of operation, execution of DAS from automatic load transfer under a fault, and to contribute to export project.

In Seoul and most metropolitan cities, urban trains are delayed due to high congestion during commute times. The delay effect of passengers boarding and disembarking is also significant. In this study, a wide passenger door system was developed as a way to improve the scheduled speed of urban trains by decreasing the passengers' flow time. The door size was defined experimentally to shorten the entrance time. The optimum door size was also determined to improve the stop precision performance of the train while considering the interference effect with peripheral devices. Because the change in door size changes the structural characteristics of the vehicle, the structural stability of a train was analyzed numerically. A prototype of the wide door system was made, and the proposed design was verified using functional and endurance tests. The systematic development process can be used as design data for door size definition and system production when applying a wide door to improve the scheduled speed.

In this paper, we consider a WDM based metro ring connecting broadband access networks by using FT-TR (Fixed Transmitter-Tunable Receiver) type access nodes and a new MAC protocol for fair transmission is proposed. The basic channel access scheme is CSMA/CA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) and the transferred optical slot is changed to be empty slot by SS(Source-Stripping) which drops a packet from ring-rotated slot. This empty slot can be either used to send head-of-line packet in buffer or transmitted to next access node. In former cases, there is the improvement of network throughput, but latter case leads unfairness problem of transmission. Thus the proposed MAC protocol exploits the advantages form tow cases. It gives downstream access nodes chance to use empty slots and limits the unconditional usage of empty slots at upstream access nodes with probability as called p-Persistent MAC protocol. We use a numerical analysis to evaluate bandwidth efficiency and maximum node throughput and compares simulation results in terms of node throughput, fairness factor, transfer delay depending on probability. Under two different FT-TR type architectures for metro ring network the proposed MAC protocol is evaluated and compared.

A sliding mode fuzzy control (SMFC) algorithm is presented for vibration of large structures. Rule-base of the fuzzy inference engine is constructed based on the sliding mode control, which is one of the nonlinear control algorithms. Fuzziness of the controller makes the control system robust against the uncertainties in the system parameters and the input excitation. Non-linearity of the control rule makes the controller more effective than linear controllers. Design procedure based on the present fuzzy control is more convenient than those of the conventional algorithms based on complex mathematical analysis, such as linear quadratic regulator and sliding mode control(SMC). Robustness of presented controller is illustrated by examining the loop transfer function. For verification of the present algorithm, a numerical study is carried out on the benchmark problem initiated by the ASCE Committee on Structural Control. To achieve a high level of realism, various aspects are considered such as actuator-structure interaction, modeling error, sensor noise, actuator time delay, precision of the A/D and D/A converters, magnitude of control force, and order of control model. Performance of the SMFC is examined in comparison with those of other control algorithms such as $H_{mixed 2/{\infty}}$ optimal polynomial control, neural networks control, and SMC, which were reported by other researchers. The results indicate that the present SMFC is an efficient and attractive control method, since the vibration responses of the structure can be reduced very effectively and the design procedure is simple and convenient.

This International Standard establishes an AVI/AEI System based on radio frequency technologies. This system is intended for general application in ITS. Specially, It allows the transfer of the identification codes and further information about equipment and vehicles used in intermodal transport into such CVO and information systems related to Intermodal Transport processes. The aim of this standard is to define, describe and specify Architecture, System Parameters, Numbering/ Data structures and interface related to an AVI/AEI system to provide an enabling Standard, which, whilst allowing the system specifier to determine the performance levels and operating conditions, provides a framework for nominal interoperability. The Standard is to establish a common framework to achieve unambiguous identification in AVI/AEI applications. Thes is AVI/AEI is designed to be an 'enabling' structure to allow interoperability between different commercial systems, and not prescriptive in determining any one system. The ISO TC204 WG4 has eight active work items. A new WI on ERI is progressing quickly; three WIs for the road environment and four multimodal WIs are under development. All Work Items are joint between CEN TC278 and ISO TC204 according to the Vienna Agreement, with CEN in the lead. The work is progressing with some delay. For all the work items, the countries who have appointed experts we: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech, Denmark France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA. Dumbbell is the most basic topology that can be used in almost all kind of network experiment within it or just by little expansion. While Transmission Control Protocol TCP is the basic protocol that is used for the connectivity among networks and stations. TCP major and basic goal is to provide path and services to different applications for communication. For that reason TCP has to transfer a lot of data through a communication medium that cause serious congestion problem. To calculate the congestion problem, different kind of pre-cure solutions are developer which are Loss Based Variant and Delay Based Variant. While LBV keep track of the data that is going to be passed through TCP protocol, if the data packets start dropping that means congestion occurrence which notify as a symptom, TCP CUBIC use LBV for notifying the loss. Similarly the DBV work with the acknowledgment procedure that is used in when data ACK get late with respect to its set data rate time, TCP COMPOUND/VAGAS are examples of DBV. Many algorithms have been purposed to control the congestion in different TCP variants but the loss of data packets did not completely controlled. In this paper, the congestion control algorithms are implemented and corresponding results are analyzed in Dumbbell topology, it is typically used to analyze the TCP traffic flows. Fairness of throughput is evaluated for different TCP variants using network simulator (NS-2).
The sensitivity analysis of input parameters was Performed fer an ingestion dose assessment model (U. S. NRC's Regulatory Guide 1.109 model) from routine releases of radionuclides. In this study, three kinds of typical Korean foodstuffs (rice, leaff vegetables, milk) and two kinds of radionuclides $(^{l37}Cs,\;^{131}I)$ were considered. The values of input parameters were sampled using a Latin hypercube sampling technique based on Monte Carlo approach. Sensitivity indices, which represent the influence or the importance of input parameters for predictive results, were quantitatively expressed by the partial rank correlation coefficients. As the results, the ratio of the interception fraction to the yield of agricultural plants and the human consumption rate were sensitive input parameters for the considered foodstuffs and radionuclides. Additionally, in case of milk, the transfer factor of radionuclides from animal intake to milk and the daily intake rate of feedstuffs were sensitive input parameters. The weathering removal half-life and the delay time from food production to human consumption were relatively sensitive for $^{137}Cs$ and $^{131}I$ depositions, respectively.

In the era of 20 nm scaled semiconductor volume manufacturing, Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineering Education is presented in this paper. The purpose of microelectronic engineering education is to educate engineers to work in the semiconductor industry; it is therefore should be considered even before than technology development. Three Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineering related courses are introduced, and how undergraduate students acquired hands-on experience on Microelectronics fabrication and manufacturing. Conventionally employed wire bonding was recognized as not only an additional parasitic source in high-frequency mobile applications due to the increased inductance caused from the wiring loop, but also a huddle for minimizing IC packaging footprint. To alleviate the concerns, chip bumping technologies such as flip chip bumping and pillar bumping have been suggested as promising chip assembly methods to provide high-density interconnects and lower signal propagation delay [1,2]. Aluminum as metal interconnecting material over the decades in integrated circuits (ICs) manufacturing has been rapidly replaced with copper in majority IC products. A single copper metal layer with various test patterns of lines and vias and $400{\mu}m$ by $400{\mu}m$ interconnected pads are formed. Mask M1 allows metal interconnection patterns on 4" wafers with AZ1512 positive tone photoresist, and Cu/TiN/Ti layers are wet etched in two steps. We employed WPR, a thick patternable negative photoresist, manufactured by JSR Corp., which is specifically developed as dielectric material for multi- chip packaging (MCP) and package-on-package (PoP). Spin-coating at 1,000 rpm, i-line UV exposure, and 1 hour curing at $110^{\circ}C$ allows about $25{\mu}m$ thick passivation layer before performing wafer level soldering. Conventional Si3N4 passivation between Cu and WPR layer using plasma CVD can be an optional. To practice the board level flip chip assembly, individual students draw their own fan-outs of 40 rectangle pads using Eagle CAD, a free PCB artwork EDA. Individuals then transfer the test circuitry on a blank CCFL board followed by Cu etching and solder mask processes. Negative dry film resist (DFR), Accimage$^{(R)}$, manufactured by Kolon Industries, Inc., was used for solder resist for ball grid array (BGA). We demonstrated how Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineering education has been performed by presenting brief intermediate by-product from undergraduate and graduate students. Microelectronics Manufacturing Engineering, once again, is to educating engineers to actively work in the area of semiconductor manufacturing. Through one semester senior level hands-on laboratory course, participating students will have clearer understanding on microelectronics manufacturing and realized the importance of manufacturing yield in practice.
The objective of this study was to determine the effects of low temperature on starch accumulation in rice grains. We used four major Japonica-type Korean rice cultivars as materials: Jinbu (JB), Junamjosaeng (JJ), Geumyoung (GY), and Hwawang (HW). Rice plants were moved into two phytotrons the day after heading. Temperatures in the two phytotrons were maintained at $19/29^{\circ}C$ (night/day) as the control, and $13/23^{\circ}C$ as the low temperature condition, both under natural daylight with a relative humidity of 65%. The ripening rates of JB and JJ showed no significant difference between the low temperature and control conditions at 45 days after heading (DAH). In contrast, the ripening rates of GY and HW were 86% and 57% lower than those of JB and JJ under the low temperature condition at 45 DAH, respectively. However, the ripening rates of these four varieties at 61 DAH (when accumulated temperature reached $1,100^{\circ}C$) under the low temperature condition were similar to those at 45 DAH under the control condition (JB, 94%; JJ, 97%; GY, 97%; HW, 88%). The total starch contents showed no significant difference between the control and low temperature conditions. However, the amylose contents in the cultivars were higher under the low temperature than under the control condition. The enzyme activities of starch biosynthesis were about 5-10 days slower in cultivars under the low temperature than under the control. The grain-filling rate showed significant correlations with the enzyme activities of SuSase ($r^2=0.70^{***}$), AGPase ($r^2=0.63^{***}$), UDPase ($r^2=0.36^{***}$), StSase ($r^2=0.51^{***}$), and SBE ($r^2=0.59^{***}$). In conclusion, although StSase activity was increased at $13/23^{\circ}C$ up to 20 DAH, there might not be enough time for SBE to synthesize amylopectin, thus affecting the amylose content of HW, which had the slowest grain filling rate. Notably, the decreased activity of SuSase and SBE and late increase in AGPase activity under the low temperature during the ripening stage are considered to be disadvantageous, as they delay ripening and increase the amylose content.
In motor learning, the relative frequency of external feedback is the proportion of external feedback presentations divided by the total number of practice trials. In earlier studies, increasing the percentage of body weight loading on the affected leg of hemiplegic patients, external feedback was continuously produced as the patient attempted to perform a movement. This feedback was produced to enhance the learning effect. However, recent studies in nondisabled populations have suggested that compared with 100% relative frequency conditions, practice with lower relative frequencies is more effective. My study compared the effect of 100% relative frequency conditions with 67% relative frequency conditions to determine what effect they exerted on motor learning for increasing the percentage of body weight loading on the affected lower limbs of patients with hemiplegia. Twenty-four hemiplegic patients were randomly assigned to one of two experimental groups. Each group practiced weight transfer motor learning on a machine. During practice, visual feedback was offered to all subjects. The experiment was carried out with full visual feedback for patients in group one but only 67% visual feedback for patients in group two. The percentage of loading on the affected leg was recorded four times: before learning (baseline value), immediately after learning, 30 minutes after learning, 24 hours after learning. The results were as follows: 1. In the 100% visual feedback group, the percentage of loading on the affected leg increased significantly in all three testing modes over the baseline value. 2. In the 67% visual feedback group, the percentage of loading on the affected leg increased significantly in all three measurements. 3. Immediately after learning, the learning effect was not significantly different between the two groups, but was significantly greater after both the 30 minutes delay and the 24 hours period. These results suggest that the 33% reduction in the provision of visual feedback may enhance the learning effect of increasing the percentage of body weight loading on the affected leg in patients with hemiplegia.
