이종센서 영상탐색기 시험평가를 위한 적외선 표적원 개발 (Development of Infrared Target for Dual-Sensor Imaging Seeker's Test and Evaluation in HILS System)

  • 본 논문에서는 대지, 대공 표적을 포착 추적할 수 있는 적외선 및 가시광 센서가 탑재된 이종센서 영상탐색기의 종합 성능시험을 위해 구축한 HILS(Hardware In-the-Loop Simulation) 시스템 내에 적외선 표적원을 제안한다. 이 통합시스템은 다양한 종류의 표적과 시나리오 기반 이동 표적의 궤적을 모사하기 위해 열원 및 광원을 출력하는 100개의 모듈로 구성하였다. 또한 표적에 대한 위치, 속도, 방향, 배경 클러터와 재밍 환경 등을 모사할 수 있다. 이종센서 영상탐색기의 시험평가를 위해 구축된 HILS 시스템의 전체 시스템 구성과 적외선 표적원의 설계 및 측정 결과를 제시한다. 향후에, 구축된 HILS 시스템에서 모의비행 시나리오 기반으로 동적 실시간 포착 추적에 대한 단일 또는 이종센서가 탑재된 이종센서 영상탐색기의 성능을 시험할 예정이다.

Numerical Study on Unified Seakeeping and Maneuvering of a Russian Trawler in Wind and Waves

  • The maneuvering performance of a ship on the actual sea is very different from that in calm water due to wave-induced motion. Enhancement of a ship's maneuverability in waves at the design stage is an important way to ensure that the ship navigates safely. This paper focuses on the maneuvering prediction of a Russian trawler in wind and irregular waves. First, a unified seakeeping and maneuvering analysis of a Russian trawler is proposed. The hydrodynamic forces acting on the hull in calm water were estimated using empirical formulas based on a database containing information on several fishing vessels. A simulation of the standard maneuvering of the Russian trawler was conducted in calm water, which was checked using the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards for ship maneuvering. Second, a unified model of seakeeping and maneuvering that considers the effect of wind and waves is proposed. The wave forces were estimated by a three-dimensional (3D) panel program (ANSYS-AQWA) and used as a database when simulating the ship maneuvering in wind and irregular waves. The wind forces and moments acting on the Russian trawler are estimated using empirical formulas based on a database of wind-tunnel test results. Third, standard maneuvering of a Russian trawler was conducted in various directions under wind and irregular wave conditions. Finally, the influence of wind and wave directions on the drifting distance and drifting angle of the ship as it turns in a circle was found. North wind has a dominant influence on the turning trajectory of the trawler.

스크램제트 2차원 모델의 전산해석을 이용한 3차원 비행체의 공력 모델 개발 (Aerodynamic Model Development for Three-dimensional Scramjet Model Based on Two-dimensional CFD Analysis)

  • 3차원 스크램제트 모델의 설계과정에 있어 3차원 전산해석은 2차원 해석에 비해 상대적으로 복잡한 격자 구성과 많은 해석 시간을 요구한다. 때문에 다양한 조건에서의 3차원 모델의 성능을 확인하는 것은 쉽지 않은 일이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 2차원 스크램제트 비행체 모델의 전산해석 결과와 비점성 초음속 선형화 이론을 기반으로 2차원 모델의 비행 조건에 따른 공력계수 및 흡입구 질량 포획률 관계식을 도출하였다. 도출된 2차원 성능 관계식과 함께 최소한의 3차원 해석을 수행하여 3차원 스크램제트 모델의 공력 계수와 흡입구 질량 포획률 관계식을 이끌어내었다. 또한 추가적인 3차원 계산을 통해 확장된 3차원 관계식들의 공력 정확도를 검증하였다.

Analysis of the Gait Characteristics and Usability after Wearable Exoskeleton Robot Gait Training in Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury Patients with Industrial Accidents: A Preliminary Study

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate of the foot plantar pressure and usability after gait training using the ExoAtlet wearable exoskeleton robot in an incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI) patient. Design: A case study Methods: Six participants with an asymmetry in motor and sensory function completed the gait training using ExoAtlet wearable exoskeleton robot for 15 sessions, five per weeks, 3weeks. They were divided into two groups (low and high strength group) and group differences were evaluated about session at stating of gait, gait distance at final session and foot plantar pressures and useability after training. Results: Low strength group was faster than high strength group on adaptation of robot gait. And high strength group increased faster than low strength group on the gait distance during training. In standing and gait, weaker leg was higher than stronger leg on mean foot plantar pressure in low strength group. And stronger leg was higher than weaker leg on foot plantar pressure in high strength group. The length of the anterior-posterior trajectory of the center of pressure during gait was similar in low strength group, but different in high strength group. useability was positive about ExoAtlet wearable exoskeleton gait after training. Conclusions: ExoAtlet wearable exoskeleton robot gait training was positive about improving gait in all participants regardless of differences in severity of symptoms and gait abnormalities.

A new extended Mohr-Coulomb criterion in the space of three-dimensional stresses on the in-situ rock

  • The three-dimensional failure criterion is essential for maintaining wellbore stability and sand production problem. The convenient factor for a stable wellbore is mud weight and borehole orientation, i.e., mud window design and selection of borehole trajectory. This study proposes a new three-dimensional failure criterion with linear relation of three in-situ principal stresses. The number of failure criteria executed to understand the phenomenon of rock failure under in-situ stresses is the Mohr-Coulomb criterion, Hoek-Brown criterion, Mogi-Coulomb criterion, and many more. A new failure criterion is the extended Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion with the influence of intermediate principal stress (σ2). The influence of intermediate principal stress is considered as a weighting of (σ2) on the mean effective stress. The triaxial compression test data for eleven rock types are taken from the literature for calibration of material constant and validation of failure prediction. The predictions on rock samples using new criteria are the best fit with the triaxial compression test data points. Here, Drucker-Prager and the Mogi-Coulomb criterion are also implemented to predict the failure for eleven different rock types. It has been observed that the Drucker-Prager criterion gave over prediction of rock failure. On the contrary, the Mogi-Coulomb criterion gave an equally good prediction of rock failure as our proposed new 3D failure criterion. Based on the yield surface of a new 3D linear criterion it gave the safest prediction for the failure of the rock. A new linear failure criterion is recommended for the unique solution as a linear relation of the principal stresses rather than the dual solution by the Mogi-Coulomb criterion.

Prediction of radioactivity releases for a Long-Term Station Blackout event in the VVER-1200 nuclear reactor of Bangladesh

  • Consequences of an anticipated Beyond Design Basis Accident (BDBA) Long-Term Station Blackout (LTSBO) event with complete loss of grid power in the VVER-1200 reactor of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) of Unit-1 are assessed using the RASCAL 4.3 code. This study estimated the released radionuclides, received public radiological dose, and ground surface concentration considering 3 accident scenarios of International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) level 7 and two meteorological conditions. Atmospheric transport, dispersion, and deposition processes of released radionuclides are simulated using a straight-line trajectory Gaussian plume model for short distances and a Gaussian puff model for long distances. Total Effective Dose Equivalent (TEDE) to the public within 40 km and radionuclides contribution for three-dose pathways of inhalation, cloudshine, and groundshine owing to airborne releases are evaluated considering with and without passive safety Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) in dry (winter) and wet (monsoon) seasons. Source term and their release rates are varied with the functional duration of passive safety ECCS. In three accident scenarios, the TEDE of 10 mSv and above are confined to 8 km and 2 km for the wet and dry seasons, respectively in the downwind direction. The groundshine dose is the most dominating in the wet season while the inhalation dose is in the dry season. Total received doses and surface concentration in the wet season near the plant are higher than those in the dry season due to the deposition effect of rain on the radioactive substances.

국내선 항공기 연료소모량 추정및 정확도 향상 (Estimation of Domestic Aircraft Fuel Consumption and Improved Accuracy)

  • ICAO는 2016년 39차 총회에서 국제항공 탄소 상쇄 감축제도(CORSIA; carbon offsetting and reduction scheme for international aviation)를 채택하였고, 2023년 1월 1일 기준 우리나라를 포함한 115개국이 CORSIA에 참여하겠다는 의사를 표명했다. 항공 산업에서 발생하는 탄소는 항공기 엔진에서 배출되는 온실가스가 주요인이므로 탄소 배출 감소를 위해서는 연료소모량을 절감해야 한다. 방안별 효과를 예측하고 시행에 대한 의사결정을 위해서는 시뮬레이션 수행 등 사전 연구가 필수적이다. 정확한 결과를 도출하려면 양질의 데이터가 필요한데 그 중 실제 연료소모량 자료는 항공사의 내부 자료로 공개가 되지 않아 확보가 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 실제 연료소모량 자료를 기반으로 연료소모량을 추정하는 모형을 구축한 후, 모형의 고도화를 수행하여 정확도를 향상시키고자 한다.

지형 추종을 위한 모델 예측제어와 비선형 외란 관측기를 이용한 백스테핑 슬라이딩 모드 제어기법 설계 (A Design of Model Predictive Control and Nonlinear Disturbance Observer-based Backstepping Sliding Mode Control for Terrain Following)

  • In this study, we propose the terrain following algorithm using model predictive control and nonlinear disturbance observer-based backstepping sliding mode controller for an aircraft system. Terrain following is important for military missions because it helps the aircraft avoid detection by the enemy radar. The model predictive control is used to replace the generating trajectory and guidance with the flight path angle constraint. In addition, the aircraft is affected to the parameter uncertainty and unknown disturbance such as wind near the mountainous terrain. Therefore, we suggest the nonlinear disturbance-based backstepping sliding mode control method for the aircraft that has highly nonlinearity to enhance flight path angle tracking performance. Through the numerical simulation, the proposed method showed the better tracking performance than the traditional backstepping method. Furthermore, the proposed method presented the terrain following maneuver maintaining the desired altitude.

콤바인 선별실(選別室)의 기류선별(氣流選別)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Pneumatic Separation on Separating Unit of a Combine Harvester)

  • This study was attempted to investigate the pneumatic separation on separating unit of a combine harvester. The aerodynamic characteristics of threshed materials were analyzed by experiments. The air velocity distribution within the separation chamber was measured for various speeds of the winnower and suction fans to find out the operational and design conditions of the separating unit which would serve for reducing the grain loss from chaff outlet. The results of study arc summarized as follows: 1. Based on the separation curve of threshed materials analyzed, it was shown that three different kind. of materials-kernels, straw chaff, and leaf chaff were as a whole able to be separated pneumatically, regardless of varieties. However, a small amount of the separation grain loss may be expected to occur if the complete separation between kernels and straw chaff would be undertaken because some portion of their separation curve were overlapping. 2. The analysis of air velocity distribution showed that the separation chamber may be divided into two regions, the discharging and separating. The air velocity of the discharging region was 5-15 m/s and that of the separating region 2-5 m/s. 3. The air movement of the separation chamber may be a turbulence flow, being its speed became greater as it moves from the left to the right section of the separation chamber. The equi-speed line. of air flow had a steep gradient in between the discharging and the separation regions. The air velocity in the discharging region was much higher than the terminal velocity of kernels, because of which those kernels appearing in the region could be possibly exhausted as the grain loss from the chaff outlet. 4. The motion trajectory of threshed material in the separating region was dominantly affected by the winnower fan, on the other hand, its motion in the discharging region was affected by suction fan. 5. The grain loss from the chaff outlet was affected greatly by the winnower fan and the trace of kernel movement. It was observed that the optimum working speed to give minimum grain loss from chaff outlet for the combine tested should be maintained at 950~1,150 rpm for the winnower fan and 1,850 rpm for the suction fan. 6. It was shown that a large portion of grain loss from chaff outlet may occur when the kernels may bump against a portion of separation chamber wall and those kernels thus scattered into the discharging region were sucked by the suction fan. It was accordingly recommended that a new design of the wall of separation chamber so as to bump down kernels may be necessary to reduce grain loss from the chaff outlet.

PASEM을 이용한 KSR-III Nose Fairing 분리운동 예측

  • KSR-III의 탑재부를 보호하고 있는 nose fairing은 목표 고도에 도달하면 화약 폭발에 의한 분리 장치의 작용으로 탑재부가 주어진 임무를 수행할 수 있도록 로켓으로부터 떨어져 나가도록 설계되어 있다. 이때 분리된 fairing이 로켓에 부딪치지 않고 안전하게 분리될 수 있게 하기 위해서는 적절한 크기의 분리력이 가해져야 하며, 이러한 분리력의 결정에 있어서 공기의 영향이 거의 없는 고도도 조건을 가정하였다. 그러나 KSR-III의 설계가 진행됨에 따라 발사체의 임무에 수정이 가해졌으며, fairing의 분리도 고도고가 아닌 공력의 영향이 상당 부분 남아 있는 고도 45km에서 이루어질 것으로 예상됨으로써 이러한 새로운 조건에서도 충분히 안전한 분리를 이룰 수 있는 지의 여부에 대한 확인이 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 병렬형 부스터 분리 운동 해석을 위해 개발되었던 6자유도 운동방정식 해석 프로그램인 PASEM을 fairing 힌지를 모사할 수 있도록 수정을 가하여 fairing의 분리 운동을 예측하였다. 먼저 지상 시험 결과와의 비교를 통하여 힌지 운동 모사의 정확도를 검증하고 정확한 분리 조건을 설정하였다. 다음으로 고도 45km에서 받음각, 중력 작용 방향, 돌풍의 존재 여부 등을 바꾸어 가며 안전한 분리가 가능함을 판단하였으며, 힌지 이탈각을 60도에서 45도로 줄여줌으로써 훨씬 더 안전한 분리가 가능함을 확인하였다. 또한 발사 당일의 기상 조건의 변화에 따라 분리 고도가 40km로 낮추어져도 안전한 분리한 가능함을 알 수 있었다.
