The congestion in wireless sensor network increases the ratio of data loss and causes the delay of data. The existing congestion protocols for wireless sensor network reduces the amount of transmission by control the sampling frequency of the sensor nodes related to the congestion when the congestion has occurred and was detected. However, the control method of sampling frequency is not applicable on the situation which is sensitive to the temporal data loss. In the paper, we propose a new congestion control, ACT - Adaptive Congestion conTrol. The ACT monitors the network traffic with the queue usage and detects the congestion based on the multi level threshold of queue usage. Given network congestion, the ACT increases the efficiency of network by adaptive flow control method which adjusts the frequency of packet transmission and guarantees the fairness of packet transmission between nodes. Furthermore, ACT increases the quality of data by using the variable compression method. Through experiment, we show that ACT increases the network efficiency and guarantees the fairness to sensor nodes compared with existing method.
Intelligent transportation system (ITS) has been introduced to maximize the efficiency of operation and utilization of the urban traffic facilities and promote the safety and convenience of the users. With the expansion of ITS, various traffic big data such as road traffic situation, traffic volume, public transportation operation status, management situation, and public traffic use status have been increased exponentially. In this paper, we derive structural characteristics of urban traffic according to the vehicle flow by using big data network analysis. DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communications) data is used to construct the traffic network. The results can help to understand the complex urban traffic characteristics more easily and provide basic research data for urban transportation plan such as road congestion resolution plan, road expansion plan, and bus line/interval plan in a city.
The multimedia traffic of continuous video and audio data via streaming service accounts for a significant and expanding portion of the Internet traffic. This streaming data delivery is mostly based on RTP with UDP. However, UDP does not support congestion control. For this reason, UDP causes the starvation of congestion controlled TCP traffic which reduces its bandwidth share during overload situation. In this paper, we propose a new TCP-friendly rate control scheme called 'TF-RTP(TCP-Friendly RTP)'. In the congested network state, the TF-RTP exactly estimates the competing TCP's throughput by using the modified parameters. Then, it controls the sending rate of the video streams. Therefore, the TF-RTP adjusts its sending rate to TCP-friendly and fair share with competing TCP traffics. Through the simulation, we prove that the TF-RTP correctly estimates the TCP's throughput and improves the TCP-friendliness and fairness.

In order to control the flow of traffic in ATM networks and optimize the usage of network resources, an appropriate control mechanism is necessary to cope with congestion or prevent degradation of network performance caused by congestion. While the conventional UPC algorithm provides only unstable preventive function unrelated with the state of networks and is unable to recover congestion, the proposed adaptive UPC algorithm supervises the situation of ATM networks using the information from OAM cell. Then the monitor of the proposed adaptive UPC algorithm controls leaky rate and buffer threshold value according to QOS. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can cope with congestion as well as prevent and react sensitively to buffer delay. In proportion to the diversity of traffic and the increase of transmission rate in networks, the adaptive UPC-BT algorithm proposed in this paper can be effectively used in ATM networks with wide applications. This paper shows that the proposed algorithm efficiently uses in ATM networks with application. This paper shows that the proposed algorithm efficiently use network resources and provides QOS to users for various kinds of traffics by comparing with conventional UPC algorithms.

While there are many services that can check current traffic condition and application program such as bus arrival alarm are developed, since it only provide simple alarm and check level of information, it is still insufficient in many senses. Therefore, the program that try to develop in this study is the system that predict arrival time to destination and inform the bus passengers by applying real time traffic information. The system developed related to this study is still very inadequate. In the system developed in this thesis, when the user input the current bus number and destination using smart-phone, relevant server acquire the bus route information from bus information DB, and analyze real time traffic information based on the information from traffic information DB, and inform customer of expected arrival time to destination. In this thesis, traffic congestion can be eased off and regular operation of public transportation can be improved with reliable destination arrival alarm. Also, it is considered that pattern of bus users can be analyzed by using these information, and analyzing average transport speed and time of public transportation, travel time depending on various situation can give a boost to study related to transportation information and its development.
Due to the strict requirements of emerging applications, per-flow admission control is gaining increasing importance. One way to implement per-flow admission control is using an onpath resource reservation protocol, where the admission decision is made hop-by-hop after a new flow request arrives at the network boundary. The next-steps in signaling (NSIS) working group of the Internet engineering task force (IETF) is standardising such an on-path signaling protocol. One of the reservation methods considered by NSIS is reduced-state mode, which, suiting the differentiated service (DiffServ) concept, only allows per-class states in interior nodes of a domain. Although there are clear benefits of not dealing with per-flow states in interior nodes-like scalability and low complexity-, without per-flow states the handling of re-routed flows, e.g., after a failure, is a demanding and highly non-trivial task. To be applied in carrier-grade networks, the protocol needs to be resilient in this situation. In this article, we will explain the consequences of a route failover to resource reservation protocols: Severe congestion and incorrect admission decisions due to outdated reservation states. We will set requirements that handling solutions need to fulfill, and we propose extensions to reduced-state protocols accordingly. We show with a set of simulated scenarios that with the given solutions reduced-state protocols can handle re-routed flows practically as fast and robust as stateful protocols.
In light of the growing traffic congestion problem and congestion cost, the container transport by railway has to be increased. The freight transport by railway can have decided advantages over trucks in terms of energy efficiency, emissions and cost for certain freight movements, just as transportation in the metropolitan region can have great advantages over driving truck. But the freight transport by truck should gain significant mobility benefits from a freight railway system. Thus, the DMT(Dual Mode Trailer) transport system which is coupled railway transport advantages with load transport advantages has been developed and used in the european countries. The DMT transport will therefore serve the areas required by transport organizers. The purpose of this paper is to estimate economical feasibility analysis for development of DMT transport system. Consequently, this study analyzed the characteristics of the DMT system. The horizontal load.unload system is being considered as an adoptable DMT system in consideration of the situation in Korea.
Traditional traffic forecast has employed regression analysis or time-series analysis based on past trends of explanatory variables. However, not existing but planned port facilities do not have historical data for traffic estimation. Consequently, arbitrary traffic allocation has been subject to researcher's intuition. In this paper, container throughput at New Incheon Outer-South Port will be estimated using stated preference(SP) and sample enumeration methodology on the basis of survey data about the choice behaviors of port users in a theoretical situation. In the SP survey, shippers, freight forwarders and carriers were required to answer a choice between two alternative ports: Busan and Incheon. Although total 27 scenarios of questionnaires were constructed with 3 levels of 3 explanatory variables, each interviewee was asked to answer for just 9 scenarios chosen at random. A binary choice logit model was applied to the survey data. The elasticity of travel time is estimated to be very high, implying that building New Incheon Outer-South Port could be effective in relieving the congestion of the Kyungin corridor. The analysis result shows that increasing service level at Incheon Port would bring in the substantial diversion of container cargo in the Capital region to Incheon Port from Busan Port.

Some sections of the highway are closed due to disasters and accidents. In this situation, it analyzes what kind of situation occurs due to functional failure in the highway network. The domestic highway network can be expressed as a graph. Blocking some sections of the highway can turn into a national disaster. In this paper, we analyze the robustness of the domestic highway network. The robustness of expressways refers to the degree to which the traffic conditions of the domestic expressway network deteriorate due to the blockage of some sections. The greater the robustness, the smaller the effect of some blocking appears. This study is used to evaluate the congestion level of one section of the transportation network, and a value obtained by dividing the section traffic volume (V) by the section traffic volume (C) is used. This study analyzes the robustness of highways by using the actual traffic volume data of the departure and arrival points of domestic highways, and analyzes the changes in traffic volume due to partial blockage through experimental calculations. Although this analysis cannot reflect the exact reality of domestic highways, it is judged to be sufficient for the purpose of confirming the basic robustness of the overall network.
This research does by purpose that present safe navigation plan for ships during doing dredging construction with dredger crossing waterway of Gadeok Dredging operations need to build sunken tunnel that cross the bottom of the sea under waterway of Gadeok for access road construction between Busan- Geoje. Accordingly, dredger must cross and dredge waterway of Gadeok fatally. There is possibility of marine accident of collision for latent danger situation of ships to navigate waterway of Gadeok relatively. Therefore, safe navigation plan of ship is groped in reply and its countermeasure is presented. Firstly, navigating traffic in daytime was forecasted less than 20% of its maximum capacity through estimating the traffic volume and traffic congestion The proposal was presented to execute dredging operations in three-step and to establish temporary waterway after reviewing waterway design principles. The role of VTS center was emphasized in the new Busan Port, lastly.
