Backhaul Resource Allocation Protocol for Underwater Cellular Communication Networks (수중 셀룰러 통신 네트워크에서 백홀 자원분배 프로토콜에 관한 연구)

  • Just like terrestrial cellular networks, underwater cellular communication networks, which can manage the overall network resource by adaptively allocating backhaul resource for each base station according to its ingress traffic, are necessary. In this paper, a new resource allocation protocol is proposed for the underwater cellular communication network, allocating backhaul resource of a base station proportional to its ingress traffic to the base station. This protocol is classified into two types dependent upon allocation period: the resource allocation protocol with adaptive period and that with fixed period. In order to determine a proper resource allocation protocol, the performance of the two protocols, in terms of reception rate, message overhead, and latency is compared and investigated via simulation. As a result, the resource protocol with adaptive period outperforms that with fixed period; the resource allocation protocol with fixed period results in a maximum of $10^2$ order longer queueing delay as well as $10^2$ order greater message overhead than that with adaptive period.

Multicast Tree Construction with User-Experienced Quality for Multimedia Mobile Networks

  • The amount of multimedia traffic over the Internet has been increasing because of the development of networks and mobile devices. Accordingly, studies on multicast, which is used to provide efficient multimedia and video services, have been conducted. In particular, studies on centralized multicast tree construction have attracted attention with the advent of software-defined networking. Among the centralized multicast tree construction algorithms, the group Takahashi and Matsuyama (GTM) algorithm is the most commonly used in multiple multicast tree construction. However, the GTM algorithm considers only the network-cost overhead when constructing multicast trees; it does not consider the temporary service disruption that arises from a link change for users receiving an existing service. Therefore, in this study, we propose a multiple multicast tree construction algorithm that can reduce network cost while avoiding considerable degradation of service quality to users. This is accomplished by considering both network-cost and link-change overhead of users. Experimental results reveal that, compared to the GTM algorithm, the proposed algorithm significantly improves the user-experienced quality of service by substantially reducing the number of linkchanged users while only slightly adding to the network-cost overhead.

  • A novel scheme is presented for Traffic Encryption Key (TEK) rekeying with low communication overhead for an Internet Protocol television (IPTV) conditional access system over Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS) 3.0. The proposed scheme utilizes the DOCSIS system synchronization for periodic TEK rekeying instead of a conventional TEK rekeying negotiation process. Analysis shows that the communication overhead is only 0.012 Kbps when TEK rekeying frequency is 1 second.

  • This paper is primarily concerned with multi-path routing in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). We propose a novel associativity-based on-demand source routing protocol for MANETs that attempts to establish relatively stable path(s) between the source and the destination. We introduce a new notion for gauging the temporal and spatial stability of nodes, and hence the paths interconnecting them. The proposed protocol is compared with other unipath (DSDV and AODV) and multi-path (AOMDV) routing protocols. We investigate the performance in terms of throughput, normalized routing overhead, packet delivery ratio etc. All on-demand protocols show good performance in mobile environments with less traffic overhead compared to proactive approaches, but they are prone to longer end-to-end delays due to route discovery and maintenance.

  • Recently the number of Internet users have been drastically increased with the introduction of WWW browsers, which requires accommodation study of TCP/IP on ATM networks. There are a number of problems in operating IP-over-ATM efficiently because of limited functions and overhead of IP. According to recent research, the alternatives to TCP/IP efficiently because of limited functions and overhead of IP. According to recent research, the alternatives to TCP/IP over ABR or UBR have been suggested, and the required capacity of switch buffer and problems in TCP/IP over ABR have been researched. In this paper, we address problems caused by the features of HTTP traffic and suggest a solution for TCP over ABR. The performance of the methods suggested in this paper is verified through simulation under limited conditions.

  • In order to maintain load balancing in a distributed system, we should obtain workload information from all the nodes on network. This processing requires $O(v^2)$ communication overhead, where v is the number of nodes. In this paper, we present a new synchronous dynamic distributed load balancing algorithm on a (v, k + 1, 1)-configured network applying a symmetric balanced incomplete block design, where $v\;=\;k^2$\;+\;k\;+\;1$. Our algorithm needs only $O(\sqrt[v]{v})$ communication overhead and each node receives workload information from all the nodes without redundancy. Therefore, load balancing is maintained since every link has the same amount of traffic for transferring workload information.

  • The surge of Internet traffic makes the bottleneck nowadays. This problem can be reduced by substituting the media of network, routers and switches with more high-performance goods. However, we focused radically the server performance of processing the service requests. We prepose the method improving performance of server in the Linux kernel stack. This accelerator accepts the requests from many clients, and processes them using not user threads but kernel thread. To do so, we can reduce the overhead caused by frequent calling of system calls and the overhead of context switching between threads. Furthermore, we implement CPN(Coloured Petri Net) model. By using the CPN model criteria, we can analyze the characteristics of operation times in addition to the reachability of system. Benchmark of the system proves the model is valid.

  • In this paper, adaptive channel borrowing approach fuzzy neural networks for load balancing (ACB-FNN) is presented to maximized the number of served calls and the depending on asymmetries traffic load problem. In a wireless network, the call's arrival rate, the call duration and the communication overhead between the base station and the mobile switch center are vague and uncertain. A new load balancing algorithm with cell involved negotiation is also presented in this paper. The ACB-FNN exhibits better learning abilities, optimization abilities, robustness, and fault-tolerant capability thus yielding better performance compared with other algorithms. It aims to efficiently satisfy their diverse quality-of-service (QoS) requirements. The results show that our algorithm has lower blocking rate, lower dropping rate, less update overhead, and shorter channel acquisition delay than previous methods.

Implementation of Node Transition Probability based Routing Algorithm for MANET and Performance Analysis using Different Mobility Models

  • The central challenge in the design of ad-hoc networks is the development of dynamic routing protocol that efficiently finds route between mobile nodes. Several routing protocols such as DSR, AODV and DSDV have been proposed in the literature to facilitate communication in such dynamically changing network topology. In this paper, a Node Transition Probability (NTP) based routing algorithm, which determines stable routes using the received power from all other neighboring nodes is proposed. NTP based routing algorithm is designed and implemented using Global Mobile Simulator (GloMoSim), a scalable network simulator. The performance of this routing algorithm is studied for various mobility models and throughput, control overhead, average end-to-end delay, and percentage of packet dropped are compared with the existing routing protocols. This algorithm shows acceptable performance under all mobility conditions. The results show that this algorithm maximizes the bandwidth utilization during heavy traffic with lesser overhead.

  • AS City traffic means, the electric railway of the role is overwhelming with recognizing good merits of safety, no environment disruption and accurate destination time. Currently, Korea subway are running about 290km through eight subway lines. The latest constructed subway had been made by imperoved matherials which is going on improving. Therefore, we researched this project to keep up facilites easily, repress a leakge current and reduse install cost and repair time in changing facility at overhead Contact wire system because of arc by reforming construction plan about Expansion Joint and Air Section which is regarded as weak point when facilities are fixed and maintianed of Rigid Trolley bar System. as above we can contribute various part to making useful O.C.S(overhead contact wire system)
