SDN/NFV Based Web Cache Consistency and JavaScript Transmission Acceleration Scheme to Enhance Web Performance in Mobile Network (모바일 네트워크에서 SDN/NFV 기반의 웹 성능 향상을 위한 웹 캐시 일관성 제공과 JavaScript 전송 가속화 방안)

  • The number and size of resource constituting the web page has been increasing steadily, and this circumstance leads to rapidly falling quality of web service in mobile network that offer relatively higher delay. Moreover, Improving the quality of a web services protocol is difficult to provide network function because the current network architecture has closed structure. In this paper, we suggest schemes to enhance web performance in mobile network, which are Check Coded DOM scheme and Functional JavaScript Transmission scheme, and then try to seek idea which can be provided suggested schemes as a network function using NFV(Network Function Virtualization). For the performance evaluation and analysis about the suggested schemes, we perform network simulation using SMPL library. We confirm that suggested schemes offer better performance in term of page loading time, the number of message and the amount of traffic in the network than HTTP Protocol.

  • The call admission control algorithm of hybrid scheme is proposed to enhance the QoS(quality of service) of attempted multimedia calls. In the initial stage of 3rd generation multimedia services networks, the major limitations include the small sefyice coverage and the limited radio link capacity. Because the initial massive deployment of network elements such as base stations, base station controllers, and mobile switching centers is restricted to populated areas and the other areas should be covered with the fewer network elements, the radio channel resources are hmited and coverage network is supposed to be established. Therefore the QoS of multimedia services is expected to be severely degraded when tentative traffic hot spot occurs frequently. Thus, the blocking probability of attempted calls mcreases when relatively large number of users try to place multimedia calls in a hot spot area of the wireless networks. In this situation, the proposed hybrid scheme can mitigate the degradation of the QoS of multimedia services by using the available radio channels of the neighboring cells.

  • This paper discusses standardization activities, requirements and enabling technologies for 100G Ethernet and 100G OTN. The need of 100Gbps transport capacity has been gaining greater interest from service providers and carrier vendors. Moreover, optical transport networks based on OTN/DWDM are changing their properties to apply Ethernet traffic which is dramatically increasing. We realize and experimentally demonstrate OTU4 framer with commercial FPGA. The key features of the realized OTU4 framer are parallel signal processing function, multi-lane distribution function, GMP function and FEC function. The realized OTU4 framer has the large signal processing capacity of 120Gbps, which allows to transport about 120Gbps client signals such as $12{\times}10G$ Ethernet and $3{\times}40G$ Ethernet. The realized OTU4 framer has the advantages to quickly adjust to changing markets and new technologies by using commercial FPGA instead of ASIC.

  • To realize futuristic services with agility, the role of the experimental facility (i.e., testbed) based on integrated resources has become important, so that developers can flexibly utilize the dynamic provisioning power of software-defined networking and cloud computing. Following this trend, an OpenFlow-based SDN testbed environment, denoted as OF@TEIN, connects multiple sites with unique SmartX Racks (i.e., virtualization-enabled converged resources). In this paper, in order to automate the multi-point L2 (i.e., Ethernet) inter-connection of OpenFlow islands, we introduce an automated tool to configure the required Network Virtualization using Generic Routing Encapsulation (NVGRE) tunneling. With the proposed automation tool, the operators can efficiently and quickly manage network inter-connections among multiple OpenFlow sites, while letting developers to control their own traffic flows for service realization experiments.

  • Content used in mashups is typically obtained from a third party source through a public interface or API (web services). Other methods of obtaining content for mashups include Web feeds (e.g. RSS or Atom), and screen scraping. A mashup or meshup Web application has two parts: A new service delivered through a Web page, using its own data and data from other sources. The blended data, made available across the Web through an API or other protocols such as HlTP, RSS, REST, etc. There are many types of mashups, such as consumer mashups, data mashups, and Business Mashups. The most common mashup is the consumer mashup, which are aimed at the general public. Examples include Google Maps, iGuide, and RadioClouds. 4D Wall-map display is data mashups combine similar types of media and information from multiple sources into a single representation. This technology focus data into a single presentation and allow for collaborative action among ITS-related information sources.

  • A new ER feedback switch control algorithm, called EMRCA(Explicit Max-min Rate Control Algorithm), to control the ABR services traffic in the ATM networks, is proposed in this thesis. This scheme was interpreted the ACR variation residing on between a transient state and a stable state using the two thresholds that is the $TH_{high}$ and $TH_{low}$ in the queue to detect switch nodes congestion, and decreased the difference of minimum and maximum ACR all active connection to enhance the line bandwidth utilization. The proiposed scheme used a minimum and maximum rate of all active connections to select the connection whose the congestion rate inveoked, and uses a congestion detection mechanixm to prevent some potential cogestion by regulating selected contection.s The EMRCA scheme showed ACR variation more stable that the EPRCA scheme, also reduced buffer size of the switch, and achieved higher link utilization than the EPRCA scheme.

  • The Long Term Evolution (LTE) system is already able to provide a background of variety services for mobile users with multimedia services such as audio, video, and data. In fact, the High Speed Packet Access plus (HSPA+) solution can greatly enhance bit rates on down-link. However, the supporting for multimedia applications with different QoS (Quality of Service) requirements is not devised yet. Hence, in this paper we propose an effective packet scheduling algorithm based on Proportional Fairness (PF) scheduling algorithms for the LTE. In this proposed packet scheduling scheme, we optimized instantaneous user data rates and the traffic class weight which prioritize user's packets. Finally, we evaluated and showed the performance of the proposed scheduling algorithm through simulations of multimedia traffics being transmitted to users over LTE links in a multi-cell environment.

  • This paper proposes a traffic management policy for delay control in the wireless networks. The so-called EDD(Earliest Due Date) scheme is adopted as the packet scheduling policy, so that the service provision is performed in the order of the transmission urgency of the backlogged packets. In addition, we derive a formula to determine the contention window, one of the MAC parameters, with the goal of minimizing the non-work conserving characteristics of the traditional MAC scheme. This method eliminates the burden of the class-wise parameter settings which is typically required for the priority control. Simulations are performed to show the validity of the proposed scheme in comparison with the policy that adopts the class-level queue management such as the IEEE 802.11e standard. Smaller delays and higher rates of delay guarantees are observed throughout the experiments.

  • Most of the existing algorithms try to disseminate the multimedia contents of internet service provider(ISP), without taking into account the needs and characteristics of specific websites including e-learning systems with web-based .educational contents. Sometimes the client must select the best one among the replicated repositories. However, this is a less reliable approach because clients' selections are made without prior information on server load capacity. In this paper we propose an agent system inspired by the need of improving QoS of delivering web-based educational multimedia contents without incurring long access delays. This agent system consists of three components, Analyzer, Knowledge Base, and Automaton embedded the capacity algorithm. It analyzes and investigates traffic information collected from individual replicated server by learners' requests, and selects a server which is available and is expected to provide the fastest latency time and the lowest loaded capacity, and achieves high performance by dynamic replicating web resources among multiple repositories.

  • Due to the large sizes of streaming media, previous delivery techniques are not providing optimal performance. For this purpose, video proxy server is employed for reducing the bandwidth consumption, network congestion, and network traffic. This paper proposes a fast distributed network file system using state transition model in the media streaming system for efficient utilization of video proxy server. The proposed method is composed of three steps: step 1. Training process using state transition model, step 2. base and decision probability generation, and step 3. storing and deletion based on probability. In addition, storage space of video proxy server is divided into each segment area in order to store the segments efficiently and to avoid the fragmentation. The simulation results show that the proposed method performs better than other methods in terms of hit rate and number of deletion. Therefore, the proposed method provides the lowest user start-up latency and the highest bandwidth saving significantly.
